So I literally learned nothing because my class is a bunch of idiots screwing around
Real
Thats how i feel
Except my teacher doesn't rlly teach
She just does the equation like once than tells us to do them 💀
Wait give me an equation
I can't remember TBH what I had on the test
💀
Would I be able to use a Ryzen 5 or 7 on a Gygabyte Vision OC RTX 3060 Ti 8GB? Or would it be best suitable to use the Ryzen 9 5900X. This strictly for gaming?
Ud be fine with a 5600
Awesome
Need wifi?
5900x is overkill for even a 3090
I'm probably gonna study for it and do a retake
That’s what I was thinking 🤔
Need wifi?
Yea just go 5600 or 5800
Already on am4?
Lmaoo felix
Yea 5600 will be fine
Awesome
Yea wanna pay for 3 gig
Can I set up my PC with just my CPU and then put the GPU in later?
Also is it just as simple as plugging in the GPU and plugging the power cables into it and installing the drivers?
if the CPU has an iGPU
What cpu are you using
12100F, no iGPU
So I need to buy the regular 12100?
Yea if u want igpu
I just wanna be able to boot the PC without the GPU
Hmmmm
Well it's only $22 more
But, I'm probably not gonna have my PSU when I start assembling my PC
And my brother is gonna get the GPU before I get my PSU
So IG there's no point in getting the normal one
I'll just have to wait
Well the first 3 parts of new build just came in! I'm so excited to get the rest!
Sweet
Ok i found my issue with my ram
When i run them in single channel they are fine
However dual channel leads to a blue screen
Anybody have a fix
is it only when you run dual channel with xmp enabled?
Doesnt matter if xmp is enabled or disabled
Slots 2 and 4 work and its weord
Because my old modules worked fine in 1 and 3
weird, sounds like it's either mobo or ram though
Ik even the kingston tech support dude didn’t know wtf was going on
But at least it works
I'd try RMAing the ram first
could also technichally be cpu, but that's super unlikely
CPU is fine
Because it did the same thing with my old one too
But now i get this
Does it matter what Riser cable i get?
Yes and no
At least the minimum pcie spec to get enough bandwidth for your card
3.0 should be sufficient for basically any card rn
aside from 4090 and maybe 4080
4090 def maxes out pcie 3.0 bandwidth
not like you'd notice much of a performance difference
You really wouldn't
Either way spec should be an inexpensive difference by now unless you specifically want 5.0
I have a 3080
Ye most risers should be fine
I was thinking about this one https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16812987068?Description=riser cable&cm_re=riser_cable-_-12-987-068-_-Product&quicklink=true
Same brand as my case
If you are working in sff, I would suggest linkup as it can basically bend 180 degrees
But otherwise yeah phanteks is fine
I can't see the price on that tho rn
So if it's like, over $80 then nah
On sale for $52.47
That's good
https://www.newegg.com/asus-model-rs200-rog-strix-riser-cable-bk/p/N82E16814997024?Description=riser cable&cm_re=riser_cable-_-14-997-024-_-Product&quicklink=true But if i do this its $48 but idk if it only works for Asus cards or not
Make sure it's long enough too
Nah risers aren't specific to brands
The asus one looks like it's expensive
Its cheaper then Phantex's lol
Oh my b
.
These are USD
Ya I can't check properly
The ROG one is good too
Can look up cablemod risers too
See how much those are
what is the best virus protector for free?
windows defender
Malwarebytes is chill
Windows defender, manually run Malwarebytes every once n a while or if you did something sketchy
Finally got to building my friends rig like 2 months after he bought all the parts
Posted a pic of it in #build-pics
is a wenstern digital green drive good
no
mp33 or silicon a60 cheaper and better
than any wd green
WD green SSDs are ok for laptops that only have a sata drive slot and need maximum power savings. Performance is pretty bad.
there's wd green nvmes
(relatively speaking, they're still much better than HDDs)
Yeah and I don't recommend using those
The sata ones are the only ones that serve any purpose
MP33 is far better value and performance if you can do nvme
We are talking fractional savings anyway
Yeah it's like 3W instead of 5W, which is still less than half of the average HDD
What should I expect a 3080 to cost me now a days
Are there any like really obvious things I should be looking for when buying a used one?
Also will prices go down further once the 4080 comes out?
Mostly suspicious sellers are what you want to avoid. Look for some with a decent amount of reviews and recent activity.
Mining cards are fine. If they had half a brain when doing it they didn't do any damage or major wear.
Yeah. There's also Reddit r/hardwareswap, and facebook marketplace (but only deal in person there)
Hardware swap might be a fun place to look
See if I might have anything anyone wants to trade for
You'll need a reddit account with a fair bit of karma, check the sub rules for more conditions
Could a connection between the fan and motherboard (or lack of) be the reason for the fan (internal fan that came with case) to make noise or is it usually something on the fan itself that is making it have a sound. I have cleared everything from the front and back fan (both seem to be making loud noises) and I don’t see any reason as to why this is happening. The only thing I did was install a new PSU, but I confirmed all of the wiring was installed correctly and fully. Its just weird how it wasn't happening 45 min ago and now it is.
Most people there just want to swap for cash.
Here's an ebay option. Account looks ok to me despite only 46 reviews. https://www.ebay.com/itm/385176364390
Could someone make a pc that is capable of gaming at ultra 1440p, streaming and game development? For 1600-1700 AUD?
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, Deepcool MATREXX 40 3FS MicroATX Mid Tower
About as tight as you could get
Also this will be 1440p, 60fps ultra
High refresh (depending on the game) could be more difficult
You'd really want a 3080 for that imo but the budget needs more oomph
Hmm I might have a second crack at it
Nah $130 too short for a 3080
Can't fit it, this is about the best
Ye that list is about as good as you can get for the money @junior crescent
okok, thanks
No decently priced 6800 in upside down land?
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/R4XYcf/asus-radeon-rx-6800-16-gb-tuf-gaming-oc-video-card-tuf-rx6800-o16g-gaming, This is the cheapest 6800 i could find
That'll save a fair bit of money
Thanks
No problem
I got a question for yall
I have a 10GB 3080 RTX, but I notice when I'm playing games on one monitor but also watching anime, movies, etc on a second it tends to big down my gpu quite a bit. Could I run a second GPU that doesn't need external power like a GTX 1050 in my PC to run my second monitor when I'm watching my shows?
Shoot, even like a GTX 710 or something
Yes that's a valid configuration
A 710 would be a bad option though since the latest drivers don't support it but a 1030 would be perfect
What cpu do you have?
Good call, if they have iGPU that solves it
I have a Ryzen 7 3700
I just need one that runs 1080p 60fps for shows
Nothing strong or fancy
Seems odd that you're seeing a performance dip with those specs though
Well my primary is a 1440p 144hz screen
If it's decoding a 4k youtube video or something that's non-trivial
And I tend to play at as high graphics as I can
Ofc you can just disable hardware acceleration and pass the load off to the cpu instead
I also ask because I'm not sure if that would count as SLI or not...
I THINK I might have a spare MSI 1050ti...
3700x should have extra cores so this might be worth a shot
Nvlink was supported on the 3090 and that's the last one to do so officially
If there any special setup or settings I need to do? Or is it just plug and play for second GPU?
Im not sure tbh. I used a second gpu briefly for mining but never tried to run a display off of it
It's pretty much plug and play if it's the same brand (nvidia vs amd)
Like fal said you could also just try turning off hardware acceleration on your browser/video player and see if that's satisfactory
Some programs you might need to specify which gpu to use for acceleration
Ahh
Yea there are but I'm not sure about the whole AMD encoding for streaming stuff so I steered
Yeee, not a fan of AMD either
I'd love to learn it but the 6600 is used so much so I don't get any chance
Well for GPUs
And the 6800H has encoding but AMD doesn't let you use it
For AMD link anyway
I mean RDNA 2 is good. I've been a big fan of both buys of it
https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr5-sdram/p/N82E16820374351 is this possible M die ?
Most likely a Samsung die imo
I mean it could be hynix but 0 guarantee
So not a deal
Nah plus you can get 6200 kit from patriot for 205 for ages
What did samsung do to you to deserve this patooo
This the kit btw
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/x7xRsY/patriot-viper-black-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6200-cl40-memory-pvv532g620c40k
No RGB
Bad monitor?
I looking forward for 2x32kit actually
Yeah it's supposed to be like 3x 16:9 monitors when you flip vertically but apparently it looks like 720p when you do that kek
Imo not worth but you do you
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hhXJ7P/team-t-force-delta-rgb-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6200-cl38-memory-ff3d532g6200hc38adc01
Lmfao
I too am mad at samsung
Bad samsung
it's sad their free ssd deal gone
Yeah
Ordered second GPU for my pc
Taking case suggestions for under $80, anyone got any?
So I just got doing a full dusting and cleaning of my pc. I removed my cpu and put it back in. Why is it saying it's a new cpu and put me back in the bios to set it up?
This is my first time removing it so I haven't had this happen.
Do I just say discard and exit if I really didn't change anything since it's already setup?
what overclocking is good for my EVGA 1650 ko ultra gaming graphics card?
I decided to say time to learn what happens if I do this option. I chose discard changes and exit since it should already be setup correctly. So far everything looks alright. 😅
every card has its own curve for oc, you need to test that for yourself
You could also check online for one
in general how good is the i3 12100f?
is there a major difference between the i5 12400f or no?
The 12100 can handle a 3090 at 1440p just fine in most games
The 12400 has 2 more cores which can be nice if you're multitasking, watching youtube while gaming with discord voice chat and all that
i’d have my game open and discord
That being said it is still a 4 core
Just discord itself isn't enough to push it
At least it's hyperthreaded
would i be better off to just save for the 12400f
i was only considering because of my budget
What gpu?
either rtx 2060 or 6600
I'd just do 12100 at that budget
there isn’t a crazy price difference in the i5 and i3 just wanted to know really what would be better for me and if there is a major difference or not any at all
i play games like cod and forza
You're fine with 12100, any differences will be small. Maybe 5%.
and for those games i’ll be good?
Even at 1080p a lot of games will be more gpu bound with a 6600
yeah i just wanna play 1080 tbh
Benchmarks play at really low settings to exaggerate differences, no one uses those settings in real life
1080p high/max will be totally gpu bound and the cpu will make almost no difference
alright and how is the 6600?
It's great for 1080p. A little below the 3060. Should handle high settings in almost every game.
okay yeah i think im going to do that the i3 with the 6600
and im looking at getting a 512gb nvme do you think it’s worth it to save the extra cash and get like a higher 3.5 drive sorry if that made no sense lmao
like a tb drive
512gb is plenty for the OS and several games. Unless you play a lot of CoD, then it can hold 3 games lol.
no just plan to get the new one
on my xbox i play cold war
so just look in the future for a bigger drive
MP33 1TB is $58 right now
i’m in canada
79 cad
it’s 79
yeah
i honestly just need 4 last parts lmao
then i can piece it together
You can always get the 512gb now and add another drive later
that’s what i’m thinking tbh
That's the nice thing about storage
It's a great board, one of the cheaper good options with wifi
With a board like that you have the option to upgrade the cpu later to something like a 13600k or higher, but upgrade the gpu first
This one is full ATX instead of micro if you have case space for it https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/YZPQzy/gigabyte-b660-gaming-x-ax-ddr4-atx-lga1700-motherboard-b660-gaming-x-ax-ddr4
i have the nova mesh se
Looks like a mid tower so it has room for full atx
will i have any issues with the bios like for the cpu to work?
Nope, any boards sold right now should support every 12th gen cpu
13th gen is still brand new so that would be an issue
i’m going to add that mobo to my list
Lower 13th gen isn't quite out yet. I figure their prices are gonna be a bit junk for a while, well most of em anyways. 2 main ones I'm waiting to see compared is 12600K & 13400, because they're same core config pretty much.
It's pretty cool that the 13600k is on par with the 12900k
At lower power draw iirc
The 13400 is basically a 12600k in more than core config, it's not even the new gen cores
Is this some kinda scam?
And should I get an ssd or more ram? I don't have an ssd and I have 16 gb of ram
It doesn't seem to be a scam but it's a 256gb drive
A SSD will benefit you a lot, and 16gb of memory is still standard for gamers
Is that not a lot? I'm also wondering how much it'll speed up my pc
256 is enough for the OS and programs but not much more. That drive in particular isn't very good.
I was mainly looking for just my OS
Are there any other ssds I can find that are around that price range that's 256 or more?
can i get a good gaming pc for 1000 dollars
Yes. US? Prebuild or built yourself?
And do you need any special features like wifi?
@potent portal do you think the nzxt kraken z73 is better than my lian li?
i’m thinking of getting that one and upgrading to a i7
No they charge more for the looks, it's not any better
If you're comparing Galahad 360mm to Z73, Galahad is better
Hell no
HAHAHAHA
my buddys desktop screen goes wonky like this https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/847616787779682345/1033515281739419778/AD2BD6FB-0687-4B8F-8298-A0E396C1CAFC.jpg
after installing a gpu driver update. any idea the problem? its a relatively outdated system, with a low end i5, ddr3 ram and a gtx 650
normally I fix it by him giving me access with teamviewer and I just go and uninstall the drivers and have him restart the computer but without the driver up to date some games tell him he cant play
Can someone help me out here? Im swapping over from amd ryzen 9 3900x with a 3080 to intel i9 13900k with 4090. I am not sure if i should keep my ddr4 64gb corsair vengeance or end up buying ddr5 sticks. Just not sure if it worth the extra $400 or so on ram.
depends on the speed of the sticks
ddu and try installing an older driver
thank you!
I like gaming on my pc and using the adobe programs G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 PC5-48000 CL36 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5NR - Black - $220 G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 PC5-48000 CL36 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5 - Black - $190 What I'm currently running, - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit CMW32GX4M2E3200C16 - Black

I need this
is the lian li going to preform better than any other coolers for i7?
i’m at micro center and i wanna get a different cooler than the one i already have
Freezer ii or ls720 are the only ones that might be better afaik
white p12s or fc120s
what brand is that
arctic p12
Corsair is just kinda bad, especially considering price, lian li is fine, but expensive
def would suggest lian li over corsair
evga CLC and arctic liquid freezer ftw
p12 argb
it sucks they only have black
they have white
i mean in store
i’m at micro center with now
@stoic island @potent portal i actually decided to upgrade to a i9 do you still thing the lian li will handle that?
galahad? should be fine
do you think there’s a better option i should go with with the cooling?
not worth upgrading
ok thanks
Just to make sure, 12900, right?
Bc any other i9 is a downgrade
11900 is worse than a 12600k
^
Point is 11900 is a pure waste & basically just a higher clocked 11700.
And this will speed up my pc more than getting more ram?
By far
Ssd vs hdd as boot drive is the difference between night and day
Your pc won't take 5 minutes to become usable after you first turn on your pc, everything will load tons faster
Yep, because the 13600k matches the 12900k in gaming easily. The cost savings would let you get a new Z690 motherboard too.
You're bi now
🤨
You don't have a choice
thats kinda sus
Wth went down in build chat

Any thoughts on this? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FNf3Bj
PC Builder - Intel Core i9-13900K, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P400 ATX Mid Tower
A 3090 costs less
I've been surfing around on the used market here, trying to piece a game PC together for myself on the cheap
but it's hard to pick the right platform
300 bucks for CPU+motherboard limits me to older platforms (like 3rd gen Ryzen or 8000/9000 series from Intel)
For gaming, you can still do 12100/12400+b660 and do great
Assuming usd
That ain't happening because new hardware here is ridiculously expensive
5600 prices has also been good on AMD's side, although no cheap am5 offerings yet
I just converted the HUF price to USD for reference
Oh right
New hardware is unobtainum expensive here
a 12400 processor alone is 75% of my budget for CPU+mobo
10400+b560 might still be a solid bet
10th gen isn't widespread on the used market yet
What about 12100 and b660
I can find 8th or 9th gen I7s for solid prices
it's pain
anyhow
what I found on the used marketplaces
Ryzen 3800X+stock cooler and ASUS TUF B550-PLUS
Asus ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING and i7-8700K (likely without cooler, so extra expense)
The Ryzen pair is roughly 5% cheaper than the Intel pairing after counting the cooler
Oh this is all used stuff
It might still be worthwhile to import like 12100 and b660 from say Germany, sure Hungarian vat is 27% but it might still end up nicer

GPU, case and memory would be the same for both, and I'll get storage new (I just don't trust used storage)
Like I found a R7 5800x for $200 usd
Customs will seize it on the border and then force me to pay extra to have it released
anyhow
I'm leaning towards the 3800X because I can later get a higher-tier CPU once AM4 new stocks are out and the used market gets 5000 series on
but the 32gb DDR4-3200 RAM and the 2080 Ti would be the same for both
Are 2080ti prices good?
For used market in most other places 2080 super prices are more reasonable
the Ti I found was less expensive, mostly because 2080 Supers are largely unavailable
Wacky
seems like people don't want to sell the Supers
weird, but I won't complain if I get a cheap 2080 Ti out of it
Tbh I don't like either option of 3800x or 8700k
And I just feel there's gotta be a better way to import into Hungary
I have a 3800x, it's just so mediocre, even 8700k can probably do better in games, and down the line you'd want to go with a newer platform
From an older bench, 8700k is better by 5% on average
I bought a 3800x, and now, by the time I'm going to upgrade, I'm probably grabbing like a 13400
Which invalidates any extra value from the am4 motherboard, so keep that in mind
I want it to just work to be fair
and I can have my sister inherit the 3800X afterwards if I do switch platforms
and the AM4 setup is slightly cheaper
it's average 5% better, but almost 10% more expensive for me
Any chance you can find a cheaper board or does the 8700k and that Mobo come in a bundle
Strix tax is really annoying
8700k and mobo are from the same dude, were used together
if I wanted to get a 9700K it'd be worse
and I'm honestly kind of willing to pay a Strix tax because (from what I've seen in the last decade or so)
Asus gear tends to just work in the long run
chuckles in 10+ year old laptop I'm talking on now
okay so
I checked
the 8700K does NOT have a stock cooler with it
so it's worth upping to the 9700K anyway
It's just when you really look at these things, it's all the same "off the shelf" parts, like Asus might use the same ir3555 mosfet MSI does on a separate board, the Asus board just ends up being more expensive, with the same features and components, and only more expensive because of the name
It's just annoying because they get you to pay more for the same thing
that Strix board is roughly the same price as the same tier MSI/Gigabyte board on the used market
at least here
now that being said
I'll have to do math to convert the prices, brb
Don't remember if MSI had tomahawk line for z370, but that kind of 'mid-end' lineup is what you'd want to look for
Strix is weird, it's just 'premium', it's not the best, usually Asus makes some Crosshair board that's better, and Asus usually has tuf and/or prime for mid/low end
Wait....ALPHACOOL MAKES A WATERCOOLED PCIE M.2 DRIVE BAY!?
Anyways, if it's the only option, whatever
Team made one too iirc
360 bucks for the 9700K + mobo + Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler
280 for the Ryzen 3800X (stock cooler included) + ASUS TUF B550-PLUS
Id need it to hold 4
That 80 bucks is me buying a solid PSU and cheap case for the Ryzen, jeez
Yea uh drp4 is on a different level from the stock cooler, any other cooler options?
Any chance for any thermalright offerings?
More likely some arctic stuff?
Is there really no other cooler options?
It's all Zalman, Xilence and such
I paid $240 for my CPU cooler and $350 for my GPU cooler lmao
What zalman stuff are avaliable?
Like cnps20x is top tier, iirc there was like a cnps18 or something?
CNPS11X
but I'd need to get the mounting bracket for 1151v2
cuz the seller only has an AMD bracket
I can get a DRP4 for 50 bucks
Can you check if they have cnps10x? Should be cheaper
But I thought zalman came with lga115x mountings stock
Guess sellers just threw it away or smth, wacky
yeah it kinda sucks
Guess the terrible market leaves you with one logical choice left now
Isn't 1151 old...like 7 years or something?
Cnps11x is even older
eBay?
Ahhh
Hungary.
Oof
Fair
at least I can't
I just bought a Asus Cerberus 1050ti...
I still don't accept that you can't reasonably import for reasonable prices
There's gotta be some way
and let's be honest a 3800X/9700K and a used 2080 Ti will serve any needs I might have currently
you get slammed with extra tariffs for overseas electronics imports
I mean...the only reason my coolers were as expensive was due to $100 shipping costs...EACH
Even the EU?
Yea
Vat should only be 27%
Unfortunately, the government rams a broomstick up your ass with hidden import fees and tariffs
Importing from Germany to Texas...two liquid coolers. $100 shipping for each liquid cooler
So I get blacks issue completely
Tarrifs, shipping costs, etc
Guess the best option is to just travel to like Germany, and then take it back with you
Sure it's probably not feasible now but
Someone has probably made it into a business
don't really have the time to do that, yeah
More time than me 😅😅
anyhow
I don't really need a super modern PC
a 9700K and 2080 Ti would do everything I could potentially ever want to do
I consider that super modern...
That's still pretty high end
Better CPU than what I'm running anyways
Oh well
32g probably
3200 Mhz seems okay for both
tho I ain't no memory expert admittedly
but from what I heard 3200 is good
Yeah I'd go 3200 or 3600
3200 cl18 is the cheaper end, 3600 cl16 is better performance
Gotcha, thanks for the tip!
but yes
9700K is slightly better than the 3800X, right?
I see
Well I'd have bought the same memory for both, so that's good to know
thing is that I can slap a 5950X into the same mobo down the line
so the opportunity is there with the AMD setup, while the 9700K maxes out the socket
Actually, from what I can tell the 3800x scores better
That's just from one site I looked at
Again, that's just a singular site...it could vary
Personally, I've been a fan of AMD since my first pc
I've never been a fan of how Intel changes boards so often
And the AMD setup is cheaper upfront because I can get the stock cooler with the 3800X
like a little cheaper
How much more is the x570 wifi? I ran that for a good bit with the only complaint of not enough PCIe x16 slots
But I personally need 3 PCIe x16 so...
Micron E-die yay or nay?
I think a majority of aftermarket uses micron
doesn't seem available right now
If you're talking RAM, I've ran Corsair for YEARS with no issues
Ahh, then yeah the b550 will do fine
90% of my build is either ROG or Tuf btw 😅
Lucky bastard
Yes plz
in the meantime, here's what I managed to scour up as available @stoic island
Used parts:
3800X + stock cooler
ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS
ROG Strix 2080 Ti
2X16 GB Crucial Ballistix 3200Mhz CL16
Corsair RM 850
Corsair 4000D Airflow
Unused/brand new parts:
Crucial P2 1TB NVME (CT1000P2SSD8)
Patriot P210 2TB SATA
Anything else I'd need?
Looks good to me
would I need anything else to complete the setup?
not talking about peripherals ofc
Gotchya
But the seller said they can also provide fans from other manufacturers
honestly I'd probably steer away from used fans from other manufacturers, who knows what they were doing
See if those are available for ya
Darn
I love those fans
I have two of em I'm not using at all
Probably won't
One advice I do have for fans, make sure they all match...don't want to mix up different rpm/airflow fans
ik
I'll probably end up ordering them from Corsair cuz I'll go with the 4000D Airflow anyway
I'm not a SUPER fan of Corsair fans, but it makes sense
They work, right?
Reliability is big for me
if I buy the damn things brand new
I'd want them to just work and not need to worry
They work, I'm just not a fan of the price or the proprietary connectors they have
If you don't care about rgb, consider P12's
Otherwise, FC120's or P12 ARGB
You can go corsair in a corsair case, they give you the interface for it, but they're very pricey
You can usually deck out in good argb even with an argb hub on top for less than a set of corsairs
Indeed
And the performance of P12's and FC120's are way better
And the Corsair Hub is $80 alone
I'll admit it's kind of a splurge thing
Imo? I'd splurge that elsewhere
If you want Corsair with Corsair case, go for it, it's just not recommended
but fans are... Kind of not possible to get for reasonable prices here
Corsair fans aren't worth the money they print
P12s are super rare to be found
I'm not a fan of MOST things corsair
Hungary yeah?
Yea
Power supplies, fans, monitors, etc
Check caseking, aquatuning?
The cases are ok, especially the 4000 series
Those two sites I can vouch for in the EU
I avoid anything of Corsair that are these.
Just bad experience or bad price
Mine have been working for 4 or so years
DDR3 or DDR5 they've been decent
I have a ddr3 kit that's been going strong
I guess it's product over brand?
Mhmm
Asus TUF psu's are super cheap and often the best choice in a lot of regions
I've had an issue once with a motherboard where the ARGB pin on the board broke off....they sent me a whole new board for free
Tier b at a budget
But worth it in my opinion
I'm also running a Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi x570...
I have an Asus Tuf case
woah, Bluechip has Arctic P12 ARGBs
3-pack too
Now I avoid asus boards like the plague
My mouse, keyboard, and head set are asus
I hate armoury crate and everything about it
It's not that bad
I also hate random cmos resets despite total stability
I don't have those?
25 bucks for 3 Arctic P12 ARGBs sound pretty good
What board you use?
Ahhh
Reason: Bad word usage
But at the same time I still wouldn't go back
Primes are the garbage tier
what fan controller is worth using?
Like I give it credit, vrms were super cold, good OC capability
But the other issues were breaking
like those PCBs with 6 outputs that you connect to Molex and a fan header
to control speed
Look up coolermaster argb and fan hub controller
It has like, a clear case with like 7 ports
With ROG and TUF boards I've never had CMOS instability and random reset
Very cheap and used as an oem for other brands too
My idea is going AIO down the line
Probably a Lian Li Galahad 360
I mean that's great, I also had windows boot issues
No windows start menu
once 5000 series Ryzen becomes cheap to get on the used market
Explorer dead
Even on jedec it was annoying, then the armoury crate rgb just breaking
I gave up man
When I switched to the gigabyte tho it was a bit finicky but I got it very stable and those problems just evaporated
And I mean, I don't advocate onto others too much about this anyway, I realise my problems might be very specific to my experience but yeah, were armoury crate more stable like it is on their laptops I'd maybe still consider them
@cyan ravine Masterfan hub, right?
Ye that sounds like it
One of the ports is red and the others black
Very good hub, I ended up trying it as they bundle it with EK aio's
Run that with a set of P12 argb's
This one
That's it
You can also I believe even just skip the hub cos the fans can be daisy chained
Example
feels like it's just safer to use a hub
Doesn't daisy chain have a risk of overloading the header on the mobo if you overdo it?
Yeah but I wouldn't worry about that unless it's more than 6 on one fan header
Or maybe 3 rgb plugs to one mobo rgb header
I can't remember how many lights are in the p12s
But if you can count them, you want it to be less than 80
The hub isn't even expensive and it's an elegant+ safe solution
Up to you man
But don't worry about the pst variant if you go with the hub
PST = daisy chain solution
Regulars = just regular cables
CO's are for non-stop use i.e continuous operation, 24/7
now would I make negative case pressure with 3 120s on an AIO as intake in the front
and a 120 in the back + two 140s on the top as exhaust
Yes
or I can balance the flow to be neutral/slightly positive case pressure
Also yes
Intake front with a filter keeps most of the dust out
If not the aio will, aio before the fans in a pull config
You could also do 3 front and 3 top
4000D only has 2 fan slots on top
Does it? I thought it had three
and I'd want to get a 360 AIO once I upgrade to a 5000 series CPU
If you can access arctic b stock I would strongly suggest it, stupid cheap aio's
wack
Must've been a mislabeled 5000d
I think arctic germany has b stock ebay
I heard a lot of good about the Lian Li Galahad 360
I run alphacool
Keeps my 3700X at sub 50°C
Galahad with Arctic P12 ARGBs?
Would be good yes
Why bother
Why not get an aio and run the fans with the aio?
LF2 is particularly good for ryzen 5000 btw
I did see a guy selling a Galahad 360 for relatively cheap because the fans on it were borked
Only reason to get Galahad is because it is white but then now just get deepcool ls720 white
Anyways, gotta drive home. Good luck black
if I buy P12 ARGBs anyway, that'd be a good scoop then
Ah how much used?
like 30% off or something?
In money terms?
No as in can you give a number lol?
95 dollars or so
Bleh
Oof that's bad
Look up arctic liquid freezer II
It should be like 150ish new for the 360mm version
it'd be almost 200 brand new here mind you
it's like half off from brand new
Ah yeah actually it did go up in price but I'd get arctic liquid freezer ii, deepcool ls720/ls520? For 240mm, ek rgb or basic or even possibly evga clc instead
By the time you buy new fans ehh
LS720 would be good, LFII has the fans already on it and better cos offset mount for ryzen, evga CLC better price if you find it
Deepcool castle 360
Much better
Dude bought it and didn't use it because it wasn't compatible with his build
I guess mounting bracket/maybe it didn't fit his mobo?
not that I care why he didn't use it
Unless case didn't fit 360mm or something
Either way that's wayyyy better buy
it has 7 years of warranty on it
Yeah even if you need to you can probably get bracket from arctic
yea, LF2 it is
Vrm fan is nice too
AIO's GONE WRONG GONE SEXUAL
points red arrow at nothing
circles random red thing
Exactly
I bought d15s on eBay for like €45ish like 2 days before ak620 gn review and i was like crap
Then it came with tower and fins completely bent
Seller refunded but said i could keep as paper weight and i just bent them back after a bit of work

Niceee
It didn't come with am4 bracket so hence not in pc and i was like eh I'll buy bracket from noctua when i get new platform
Guys did i miss something when putting my gpu back in after clean yesterday? Because only 1 of my 3 fans are spinning
Not unless you disassembled the gpu too
Try setting custom fan profile with msi afterburner if you have an Nvidia card or amd drivers if you're on amd
I have an Asus 1070 strix
Ok..
Whats the best gaming monitor I can get for like 120-200 dollars
G24f
https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012052?Description=g24f&cm_re=g24f-_-24-012-052-_-Product&quicklink=true I think bacca might be talking about this one
Is it better?
I'm not fully brushed up on monitors, but at this price, even if it did have one, it's good enough value
Sweet
gigabyte panels have been particularly decent as of late for a lot of them
Im just now finishing my streaming setup and I need a new main monitor
Then the final thing will be building a new pc
Whats a good budget to look at for a good streaming pc
So i realized i never installed GPU Tweak 3 on here when i built it. And i just realized its just been running on auto this entire time. So i guess for whatever reason auto likes to make the fans not run at all.
That can run games smoothly on good graphics
more is better up to a point
like, past some 1400? iirc
it becomes useless spending
for a 1080p streaming pc tho you wouldn't be near that
I was thinking like 2.5
that's wayyy too much
I'd say past $1500 is pointless
That extra $100 can be useful in some cases
One sec, I'll draft up a list rq
Damn
Also
Don't need built in wifi
I'd spend a bit more for a 1440p monitor
the late changes in prices iirc brought that 1.5K mark down well under
For your budget 1080p is useless
What monitor should i get?
we had that, 1.5K 6900XT build before
M27q-p, g27q, x27q
translates to a 3080 12gb
Oh then my budget will be 1600 lol
So for this monitor than what should I get?
.
Oh
Or these
First three are 27in
Other two are 32
Lemme look at em rq
BRB, gonna make the list
How much storage you want?
Just use msi afterburner instead gpu tweak sucks
Cheapest decent 3080 12gb isn't worth it over this 10gb one https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wHLhTn
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-13600KF, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
13600k bc why not
Though for those games this is complete overkill
You'd be fine with a 12400f and 3060 ti for those games with ease
Mm true
So thats the build I should buy?
One sec
Pato gonna find a diff motherboard
Also if you want to save money, to run those games you plan to you could go much cheaper and still be fine
If you'd rather get very high end, it's good for the price
Oh yeah cheaper is better for me haha
Could also get an atx 3.0 psu and get a 4080 whenever it comes out, but really no point lol
Alright one minute
As long as I can stream games at great quality I'm happy
What's your budget?
I can go up to 2k
But whatever will fulfill what I need at cheap is good
1k - 1.5 - 2k
Either or
Well you just wanna play Minecraft and valorant right?
No point spending like over 1k for that
Shaders aswell?
Any aesthetic preferences?
Shaders aren't much to worry about when you're running 200+ mods tbh
Yeah lol
Black and white is cool
But if it effects the quality non
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rGDDKp includes monitor
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
Okay
Lol
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Deepcool CG560 ATX Mid Tower
I'd bump up the gpu on that one
Making parts lists is my favorite part of being a tech nerd
but it's otherwise good
Dropped down to save money since the games they're playing are very non demanding
Should I just buy the graphics card now so it doesn't sell put
Oh aight
Do you have any issues buying used?
If not, you could likely find a 3080 under $600
I prefer new haha
Kk
Ok last one I'm sending https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qnr3Bj
PC Builder - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR, Deepcool CG560 ATX Mid Tower
Same cpu perf as the 12400f with better gpu
I'll gladly look
Does amd not send the wraiths anymore?
@reef moss I'd do this with either monitor depends if you want 32" or 27"
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pksz9r
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-13600KF, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Phanteks Eclipse G360A ATX Mid Tower
If you want basically the best
Since 200+ mods i think the extra cores gonna help a lot
Minecraft java and valorant
reeeee
So many to pick
No rt in those games
Im glad you saw that because it can be taxing. Especially with shaders
I'm busy measuring my desk and I'm short 4cm from perfection
Also 580$ for 6800xt vs 700$ for 3080 vs 800$ for 3080 12gb
damn 12tb
Lol
das a lot of vram
Brrr
Honestly can't recommend 5600 in this case cuz of 200+ mods
even short ones can please the right person.
So is patos the best possible build I can get for my budget
Desks @fossil cedar Desks.
Technically you could spend a bit more but very large diminishing returns starts to happen, you're spending $250 extra for 5% more perf
I NEED MORE GIRTH
Pato is my go to guy for builds within my budget range.

@cyan ravine hear me out... Floor pc
NO
jesus
xD
I WORKED SO HARD FOR DESK
DON'T SUGGEST PAIN
Ssupd meshroom?
...
It fits atx

Nah i may work magic but not water into wine sorry
smh
well what else can you do
i don't believe you

Thank you for the help!
Thank you as well
happy to my dude, if you have any more questions feel free to come back
actually
Np
I can do this....
NR200p max max
typing with a bandaid on the end of my middle finger feels so weird
Will do
is that a punching bag?
mount the pc to the wall
Ayo? Same. I shot a staple into the side of my hand at work
I was expecting this:
Buy sfx psu
Ye
Lmao
jesus, i just got a paper cut at the end of mine

and it hurts to type without smthn covering it
I'd argue yours is more painful
lmao
Nah i tried it wasn't for me
too much
I play 'Throw the ruler against the wall cos I need 4 more cm to feel satisfied'
I occasionally play
It's a hard game to get real good at but once you do it's super fun
