Vram is faster memory that your graphics card uses for its needs. When it gets full, it starts talking to the cpu to move data between the slower system memory and video memory, and depending on the application, it can crash or just run poorly. You aren’t crashing from this, so it’s something else. If you are only using half of your video memory, I would assume system memory is also good too since premiere utilizes system resources more widely, unlike davinci where its utilization is mainly focused on the graphics card

i would suggest purchasing OEM 2x16GB hynix A die. even if you get a weird PMIC that bricks stability at high VDD, 1.25v is still plenty to get like DDR5 7600 working, and A die tightens timings down really really well

i have two kits of it from different OEMs, the one with the better PMIC that accepts high VDD does 8000mb/s really easy, the other caps at like 1.3v ish before it craps out, so i have it in my fiancé's at 7200. even the bad pmic ones are solid enough to get you performance within margin of error of DDR5 8400

and if you're on ryzen you'd be running like 6000-6400
