It's worse than that. Insurance companies have to pay out a % of their money taken in toward care, 80% iirc. Add in wall street's mandate of infinite growth, some good old fashioned price fixing and non-compete agreements and the only way for the industry to grow is for things to get more expensive for everyone so total revenue goes up. If they are making 5% profit off 1 billion and they could double prices for you and make 5% of 2 billion then they've doubled their income, as long as they don't lose half their customers they've come out ahead.
The HMOs paying themselves is a separate issue and not necessarily a negative. Kaiser Permanente is a big one out here and they're one of the less terrible.

I don't know if I'm being too paranoid but when I play Forza Horizon 5 at max settings at 4K with TAA I get like 115 FPS on average only but I'm seeing people getting even 130 or more without any overclocking... I use an RTX 5080 and a Ryzen 9 9950X3D
