My opinion is not closed, because I haven't given an opinion. I've just been trying to understand yours. I understand that there are huge amounts of nuance to this topic, and I understand why certain people feel certain ways, and I also understand that a huge amount of stuff surrounding AI is misinformation about how it works, or how it was trained, or various other things

The reason I chose to disengage is because you jumped from having logical reasons as to why you don't want to use AI, such as it being imperfect, or not being beneficial for what you do, to subjective reasons, which are impossible to refute. There's no reason in having a conversation when it's going off of just "that's how I feel"

I know the good, the bad, the ugly, and the stuff that's not even released when it comes to AI, and sure, it's full of a lot of bad and ugly, but for a lot of people, it's been genuinely transformative, greatly opened people up to New horizons that they never experienced, myself included, and one of the most important inventions in human history on a whole plethora of scientific frontiers

Protein folding, weather prediction, genome assessment, antibiotic synthesis, skin cancer pattern recognition, fast, free, and high quality translation between languages that is taken down a huge chunk of language barriers

To so closed-mindedly say that you are auntie an entire industry, is honestly quite ignorant in my opinion. I doubt you know much about AI at all, and that's fine, but to take such a strong worded in oppositional stance on something so broad and complex is just kind of immature

I have the S22 ultra, which has a curved screen. That makes screen protectors an absolute nightmare for it, and the very very few that actually work on this phone are absurdly expensive. The one that I bought was $45 for two, but the second one is actually broken in the package, and I didn't realize that before

So if I want to replace it, I have to spend another $45 to replace the screen protector, which I could just put towards a refurbished S24 ultra instead

The s22 was having display defects causing the display to die around the camera punch out. The defect disproportionately affects people who got the pre-order s22 Ultra, like myself.

Samsung noted that it is a known defect with the phone, and put out a statement saying that they would replace the display for anybody who was experiencing it, at which point I reached out. They said it was 100% their fault, and the apologize, and that they would schedule a replacement nearby

Then they looked at how old my phone was, and it was a year and 4 months old. AKA, a pre-order phone, which was disproportionately affected by the issue

They then told me that because my phone was more than a year old, they would not be covering the cost of the replacement, and it would be $500 out of my pocket.

It's because it has to be physically curved around the display, and it uses a special bonding resin to adhere to the display of the phone so the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner still works, while not introducing an air layer that destroys the phone's contrast.
