Unless the entirety of a country is powered off clean energy
EVs aren't any better
even with the common gas plants we have, it's far better to consolidate energy usage at the grid level than to have a power plant on your vehicle
A good way to get to that point is to replace fossil fuel with nuclear
CCGT plants are pretty damn efficient, moreso than nuclear plants in some terms but I'd rather nuclear
It's far cleaner than most energy sources
yeah i was about to say. energy is a solved problem. nuclear fission
It's not solved
Nuclear is still finite
It's just significantly better
Than what we have
there is enough KNOWN uranium and thorium to power 2x the projected power needs of the globe if run exclusively on nuclear for over 100 years. plenty of time to develop fusion in that time. and doesn't include undiscovered deposits
it's a solved problem for all intents and purposes
Which is mindboggling considering how it's not being utilised enough
Even though it's been a thing for a century
I discovered there's a massive geothermal plant north of the bay area that was built in like the 70s and expanded since then which is cool
The Geysers is the world's largest geothermal field, containing a complex of 18 geothermal power plants, drawing steam from more than 350 wells, located in the Mayacamas Mountains approximately 72 miles (116 km) north of San Francisco, California. Geysers produced about 20% of California's renewable energy in 2019. Calpine, the largest generator...

My conspiracy is that big fossil fuel is the reason
need to build more of these
blame the boomers
Every one of those mfs bring up Chernobyl
did you know that coal plants put out more radioactive waste than nuclear plants ever will?
fun facts with MrManiac3
yep
Even though it's well documented that the procedures and design are the issue
Not nuclear itself
I would like more fun facts with MrManiac3
Bro its so scary bro
Chernobyl and stuff
Dude the fricken japanese plant man

the expense of a nuclear plant is down to how safe they are, fossil fuel plants don't meet the safety standards and as such cost less
Well you also have to measure the cost to the environment
not so bad tbh
Skill issue tbh
-Gigabyte PSU
Its also expensive because of the stigma and how small the whole sector is
Ik but that’s how it is rn
It has high up-start cost
People are still scared
But the long term benefits far outweigh the short term cost
It's all propaganda
People fear monger nuclear too hard
Dude but you put all the money in and it explodes
I know lmao im messing around
Open map of the world's electricity, telecoms, oil, and gas infrastructure, using data from OpenStreetMap.
go look at all the plants around the world, is interesting
My state has good nuclear
I think investing in solar and wind is a mistake
wish cali had more and stopped decommisioning
The idea itself isn't bad but they're still not all that efficient
I think it's great
I think it will be great*
especially when combined with legacy hydro, use the solar/wind to charge up the reservoir
But we're skipping a step imo
big ass battery
the tech has been there for a bit I think
Erm naur akshully this is very environmentally green but we will ignore the amount of space and materials for solar and use it because le green tek
the first gen of panels and turbines would suck nowadays
I'd say it would've been better if we replaced all fossil fuels with nuclear
THEN with green energy
I think solar fields are stupid, unless you wanna put it on grazing farmland for like sheep
Get rid of the fossils first, then start working on green energy
Imagine this times 5 and it still won’t add up to a small reactor
Green energy is good on paper
about the same as a medium hydro plant
But we're not at a point where green can replace fossil
Like some people would want to you believe
Hydro is a good alternative
Nuclear and hydro
China's been capitalising on that
hydro sucks when it comes to the health of the rivers
China's infrastructure is... Questionable at times
Drill baby drill
But they're doing more than the west
need to build massive fish ladders, but even that just serves very hyperspecific species
Hydro is good for specific scenarios
Where you need a dam to regulate the river in the first place
riparian habitat is better for that
builds up a resistant river bank that won't flood so much
That's why a mix of nuclear and hydro would be a good middle point between transitioning to green energy
Meanwhile in Germany:
shuts down NPPs
coal
Good job Germany
A riparian zone or riparian area is the interface between land and a river or stream. In some regions, the terms riparian woodland, riparian forest, riparian buffer zone, riparian corridor, and riparian strip are used to characterize a riparian zone. The word riparian is derived from Latin ripa, meaning "river bank".
Riparian is also the proper ...

got a whole manifesto
It's not even correct either
He just listed his opinion
Poor reasoning too
No (verifiable) facts were given to prove his points
No sources
He's like a venture capitalists
He knows a couple buzzwords but doesn't use them correctly
this is why wikipedia has those little [1] [2] [3] [a] [b] [c]s
so you know where the stuff comes from
Frame gen is good under certain circumstances
People aren't complaining about fake frames
People are complaining about FG and DLSS being the bulk of the optimisation
frame gen is good when I don't have to use it
It's not innovation
It's laziness
It's like replacing a therapist with an AI
AI can give general advice on very simple inquiries but it shouldn't be doing the heavy lifting
There are several things AI are good at
Processing mass amounts of data
That's a very real use case
But general purpose AI is a stupid idea
there should be scientific machine learning use, not llms and slop
Jack of all trades and shit at all of them
Consumer grade ai in and of itself
is there a thing right now where discord posts GIFs twice
bc I've been seeing it from like everyone
Ig so
happened to me earleir
Yea
But this one i searched up
Discord loves adding useless features and breaking the app instead of doing anything useful
Searched that
vim are you on mobile
Yeah
ok
Oh is it on desktop
it's never happened to me
lel
And all because the useless good for nothing devs decide to change the UI for no good reason
I do not respect discord devs
Fire all these useless UI/UX people and keep only the ones that don't do anything stupid
Ignore my battery %
Canvas detected
you pressed it twice QMB
Yea...
I watched the dot come up twice
Whut
It means you have a slow phone (learned this after I upgraded today lol)
they're all gone I bet
No because they made this update
The UI is so cluttered
Nvm then
the ones who don't do anything stupid I mean
So the dot to show you pressed pops up, the GIFs stay on the screen, and then immediately before the GIFs go away the dot comes up again.
And it keeps getting worse
Oh yeah definitely
I didn't that time and it only happened once
The selection doesn't come down after doing one through search
Yesterday I had to keep deleting gifs
I truly believe Discord is just not closing the GIF screen when it posts
Because they keep posting twice
Yea
No it's a Discord problem where it doesn't close the GIF page, combined with user error of the user not checking if it went through
I'm actually really glad you screen recorded that QMB
so i could see the double press
i bet you the favorites vs searched thing is because Discord might be caching your favorites, so it can close that page easier
Probably
ok now ill search one
that was from mobile
I've been on desktop this whole time until now
yeah my phone closed the gif screen right away when I pressed that
what phone do you have
... weird
S25+
dang
Your on iphone presumably?
Wtf
I guess I just never inspected the psu side
it's like the 24 pin in that it's not 24 pins
which is funny because boards come with the pin, but psus don't
When unboxing your CORSAIR PSU, you may notice that some of your cables may have missing pins.

thank you corsair very cool
which is better the samsung 990 pro or 990 pro evo plus
You can get cheaper similar nvmes
Unless you need them
like what
Kingston nv3 or Crucial p3+ are both good budget options
I have a p3+and am getting my mom an nv3
im not that educated on this stuff so may be dumb but whats special with samsung 990
if there is anything special
Not really.

@thin sentinel get this
Cheaping out a bit too much
It’s a UD90
It’ll last a bit
It's also not that much cheaper than a c910 or MP44L
This is penny pinching
Is the mp44l down?
I thought I saw it at $62
$58.99
Hm
Not sure what I was looking at then
c910 is $54.99
It'd make sense if both ssds were a bit pricier
But with current prices
Nah
990 EVO plus is $59.99
I'd argue that MP44L is better if he doesn't have gen 5
SSD market actually doesn't look bad this week wtf
I’m gonna tell you no
Are you insistent on intel?
Also what’s your budget
i mean id like to stay under as close or under 3k
no but the pc i have now is intel so im used to it and havent had problems or anything so
i figured id just use it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Lian Li O11D EVO RGB ATX Mid Tower
AMD is the best
😏
@thin sentinel reasons not to get the 5080:
its $1400
A 7900xtx will have very very similar performance and has 8gb more vram
And has dlss
And has fsr4(I think)
And the 7900XTX is $800
(for gaming)
to be fair it took amd until the 9950x3d to catch up
@thin sentinel how you feelin
depends on how intel next gen does
personally i'd go 5070ti
can find them for close to msrp
5070ti not 5070
Oh
Still
Extra 8 gigs is gonna help
800
Same price
i mean ive always liked nvidia but ive only ever used nvidia
7000 is pretty far behind in terms of ray tracing
my current pc i have 3060ti
if youre into that
@thin sentinel do you use RT?
24gb will only be helpful if youre gaming at 4k
or use ai for some god awful reason
If he uses the extra money for oled, 4k is easy
will it just be for gaming?
i havent but id like too
Hm
4080 super, 7900 XTX, and 5070ti are basically neck and neck atm
In terms of performance
but 5070ti can generate twice the amount of fake frames!

ok i have to ask why the $159.99 case
tbh saw it looked cool so
I wasn’t bothering changing it
O11 people are impossible to change
Does my case look cool
i say this as a $240 case owner
i dont care abt the case i just wanted to have the glass sides
Get something like a thermaltake view 240
why does it look like its half missing
Much cheaper

def not
i think the normal version of this motherboard is like 300
adding miku to it doubled the price
crazy
i want the miku aio for my case since it matches my case but the black version is not being sold

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LJYBKq
you should get this
My personal suggestion is to stick with the XTX
You can switch to the 4080 super or 5070ti, but you’ll be losing vram for RT

This is the new list
@thin sentinel
Get this
...
nvm on the miku motherboard
it doesnt have a post code

odd choice for a $600 motherboard
what makes your better than the one i made
genuinly just curious
CPU, motherboard, ram, ssd, case, and PSU are all going to be better+cheaper.
CPU is the second best in gaming atm.
Motherboard is a cheaper variant.
Ram is better ram(and faster, since Corsair ram SUUUUUCKS(ask anyone)
Ssd is a good, cheaper alternative.
PSU is higher on the tier list, for much less
Case is similar style
gpu wise tho id like to stay with nvidia but do which gpu do i go with
5070ti
why is that better than a 5080
gotcha
Are you looking to actually build something like this or are you just asking questions to learn
tryna build
nice. are you in the US?
yes
I always ask
cuz PC part picker has a region selector in the top corner that apparently very few people know about
nice
nice, tennessee for me
oh nice
Nashville area
thats where i am
yea
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vPMxzP
@olive plaza I have them this
They want a 5070ti
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Thermaltake View 270 Plus TG ARGB ATX Mid Tower
that was like the main job I did while I was going to school there
ik where thats at i golf so id play golf at hermitage golf course and then go to steak and sheak after
heck yeah
My initial reactions on this
I'm assuming this is just straight up a gaming PC?
not planning on doing any video editing
or productivity work
ill use it some for school or and maybe a little video editing but nothing crazy editing wise
alright
just if i get real bored i might edit sometimes but thats is
no i dont care much about the case but i would prefer to have a bigger glass pannel that wraps around thats it
and i'll explain the reasoning why my choices are different from both you and Roomba
are you going for a white theme
or does it matter
itd be nice but doesnt have to be
Why is there a $83 AIO
3K for just the tower right?
Jesus
not like including monitor
i already own monitors
Also can the 7800X3D actually run 6400CL32 at 1:1
i have a gaming pc already just looking to upgrade
Asrock with X3D, absolutely not
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, NZXT H6 Flow RGB ATX Mid Tower
Way under 3k
Here are the design choices and why I did what I did:
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G370A ATX Mid Tower
Oh
64GB?
Didn't see that one
Are we including monitor?
no
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G370A ATX Mid Tower
This is a black build
But I'm just using a black list as a baseline for the moment
thats fine
A white build would look like doug's
Do you absolutely need 64GB of ram?
I'm jumping in the middle so I don't know the exact use case
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the second best gaming CPU on the market right now, only topped by the 9800X3D. If you aren't going to buy a 5090, there's no reason to get a 9800X3D.
- There are additional fans - reverse blade ones which go in the bottom of the case to push air up while the "pretty side" of the fan is showing, and normal ones to go in the top of the case. All the fans are Thermalright to match the cooler, and they're all white.
- 7800X3D is not a hot enough chip to require water cooling, period point blank. So I included arguably the best air cooler on the market which is still only $37 and is white with two 120mm fans.
- I went up to 64GB RAM because with Ryzen, running more than 2 sticks at a time is a huge problem. 6000MHz is the fastest guaranteed speed, and this kit has extremely fast timings of CL28. Might as well get 64GB up front because getting 32 now and adding another 2 sticks later will not work correctly.
- The motherboard and GPU are both from Gigabyte and both white; this means all the RGB in the entire build will sync up using one program RGBFusion from Gigabyte.
- The case has a ton of airflow, already comes with a few fans preinstalled, and the power supply has native PCIE5 cabling so it will work beautifully with your 5070TI.
id like to i have 32 in the pc i use right now but feel like i need more sometimes
Oh yeah 64GB then
but the ram i have rn is ddr4 not ddr5
I did go with a 2TB NVMe for now, but that's because you start paying more per TB to go higher than that right now
2TB is a great starting point, and the board has several more NVMe slots to add more storage if you need it later
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G370A ATX Mid Tower
And the US75 has 7GB/sec read speed, so you won't notice anything faster
Still going with the baseline
Oh wait crap I think I gave a terrible rec
B650 can't do gen 5 right?
Eh. It was that or a King95

Makes sense
Reasoning: see GN exposé
Right. GN expose says: don't rent a PC from them
Shady company doesn’t get my business at all
Or my recc for others
To be fair that is one of NZXT's better cases
Eh
That's not your choice to make
It's their computer
i currently have nzxt case
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DQzdkf Baseline black list (Stole Doug's ssd)
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Phanteks Eclipse G370A ATX Mid Tower
Pardon the interruption
my pc currentley was bought from nzxt
TIL that the song "come on feel the noise" is not spelled that way
NZXT was offering a program where they would "rent" you a PC. They'd say you could return it anytime without extra fees, and also the same PC page would give different specs for renting vs buying
Turned out it was super shady, most if not all of what they said was not true
and Gamers Nexus did a video about it
My gripe with NZXT is that their cases usually have crappy airflow, but this case in particular is fine
i was looking earlier and i saw that but def didnt trust it at all
Don’t forget the sku changes
And raising prices depending on when you looked at it
Now I'm good at compartmentalizing
what vim
Regarding the fan choices
I've noticed you've chosen a 3 pack and then individual fans
Would it not be cheaper to buy two three packs?
the reverse blades weren't available in a 3 pack
So if one department of a company is terrible
I.E. in NZXT's case, the part of the company that loans out PCs is bad
I'm not gonna just stop recommending the PC components that their DIY branch makes
I judge companies on a product by product basis
Don’t forget about the exploding cases
NZXT has decent products and they have absolute crap
Similar story to the Gigabyte PSU issue from a few years ago, Gigabyte had those 3 PSU models that blew up
Product by product basis
Corsair also has some suspicious PSUs mind you
For months and months after that story about the Gigabyte PSUs, there were tons of people saying to never buy Gigabyte
most of nzxt's stuff is pretty shit for the price anyways, so out of principal and just product quality for the price, it's pretty easy to not recommend
I got so many amazing deals on Gigabyte PSUs during that time
this was showing in the bottom of the one you made me doug would it be a problem or nah
There are no issues here
ohhhh gotcha
Check out buildcore though
Doug was the compatibility check
You actually do bring up a good point about the ram
yeah give me a second
you don't need watercooling but in this case it might make more sense
I don't know his exact use case but 64GB sounds excessive for "light" video editing
Iirc the RK120 has ram clearance
The cooler is angled backwards
fair
would ram help with games and framerate and if i wanted to watch high res videos and movies
PS120 might be a bit annoying with ram clearance
I'm gonna explain the RAM choice again
Not sure how much it interferes though
idk if vim actually read my long message or not
i did
I'm more coming from the point where
read number 4
"Does he actually need 64GB"
but if i did i have it
32 is good
He already answered that
with my pc now thats 32 gb acoording to task manager my ram struggles sometimes
google chrome
but my ram now is ddr4

(probably)
the fact you have DDR4 vs DDR5 doesn't really matter if you're filling the ram
just stop using chrome
Not a chrome issue
exactly
Chrome ram meme is exaggerated
I'll lay it all out there
First of all as I said, adding 2 more sticks and having 4 total sticks of ram on Ryzen later is not great. Speeds suck with that setup
Secondly he said he uses up 32GB now, so why wouldn't he get more
Third, he's spending up to a 3000 dollar budget
tell me in what world you'd go with the de facto standard amount of ram in a gaming PC when the customer has a non de facto standard budget
I'm just inquiring on the exact use case to see if there's potentially a config issue
If he can save money, there's no reason not to
less is more, do stuff well with less before grabbing for more
I guess but he literally said he uses up 32 now
It doesn't hurt to ask for more details
I'm digging deeper
I'm sorry I'm not one to badger someone when they tell me they use up what they have and want more
I just go, ok, heres's an option
That's not what I'm doing here
I'm trying to see if he can still do what he's doing while consuming less memory
maybe he can
go for it
@thin sentinel when you use up your 32GB what are you usually doing
I'm not going to just hand someone more ram on a silver platter, high memory usage is too common where it can be well reduced
that being said I'm throwing 16gb of ram into my mom's bloatwared laptop lol
8 is too little regardless
I see where you're coming from but I prefer to dig deeper before throwing in 64GB of ram
I can see about debloating that thing later
I guess part of my angle on this, vim
depends but as im sitting her talking in discord with discord and google open im using 47% of my 32gbs of ran'
is what I do at my day job
At the end of the day it's about providing the best product to the end consumer for the least amount of money
and my day job specializes in higher end configurations
I don't disagree with you I just think it can be optimised
so for me 64 doesn't seem outlandish
Don’t use a chromium browser
Eh?
that's pretty normal, I don't see that as a reason to jump to 64
Do you have any HIGH usage memory applications
Like say
Adobe premiere pro
Because that's a better reason to get 64GB
Or modded Minecraft
when i start or run games my usages skyrockets and stuff and sometimes crash because of it
my current memory usage is about the same
yes
What kind of premiere timelines are we looking at
not much recently but i used to use it alot
Are they highly complex timelines?
It just sounds like windows is trolling of anything
Remember windows caches a lot of stuff
medium id say but my pc would struggle exporting them
What are a couple singular applications that use up a lot of ram
Aside from discord and chrome
most games i run
I mean modded minecraft takes a ton depending on the mods
gta, minecraft, fornite, val sometomes but not often, call of duty
The only example where 64GB would needed would be a modded game
And even that depends on mod
64GB seems excessive here
launched fortnite today just to launch and my whole pc wasnt having it
Keep in mind, windows stores a lot of information in cache
but that was more than my ram
And will free up memory if necessary
Is that necessarily a memory issue?
It would be extremely abnormal for fortnite to use up that much memory
sounds like a software/os issue
no i launched the game and my cpu was 100% and gpu was at 87% and i didnt look at ram at the time
what specs?
4 years now
Yeah I don't think we have a memory problem
Yeah no wonder
I usually recommend people to reinstall every year
cba I just run scripts
I don't have OS problems
I host and play on the server and still have plenty to spare
this was one i bought from nzxt but knew nothing at the time soo
Depends on the modpack
Your case doesn't apply to his
these are current specs
I have like 140 mods or something
So it's up to you
i have hosted minecraft servers off my pc before
Ah I didn’t mention I have 32
which ik thats demanding of ram and ive noticed lag and problems then
The vast majority of the time it would seem that it wouldn't get to the point where 64GB is required
How do you know it's a ram issue?
task manager
Oh are you hosting mc servers on the same machine as well
and my frame rate drops crazy
Again, windows caches stuff
yes hosting and playing
Doesn't necessarily correspond to a memory capacity issue
That is a complete different case
That might justify 64
If you're hosting a modded server and playing on it using the same machine
It might just go past 32
Depends on mods again
But still
that and not that id need to expand it woild leave me plenty of room to expand if needed
It's certainly not unrealistic
I like the idea of just hosting a mc server on haswell hardware
I run my mc server on Skylake
I'm not gonna have lots of players if I do host
It used to sit on Haswell but I wanted that extra single thread
Anxiety were you planning to build this yourself or were you interested in having it built professionally
single thread is great when minecraft
But yeah looking at the modded instance + server use case, I can see ram usage realistically exceeding 32GB
well ive never built one by myself but i wouldnt be against doing it myself yk
it wouldnt hurt atp
also if i get real bored i have streamed in past and play vr games on pc
That and he kept his current machine for 4 years
so I would imagine that if he's gonna keep this one for 4-5 years as well
that 64GB will be good to have
I suspect the other high memory usage is due to windows trolling
ideally
I'd recommend reinstalling windows every couple years either way
it still says 48% memory rn but im not convinced
Again, windows caches a lot of stuff
Windows will free up that cache memory when needed
yea
The total ram usage is not the full story
be nice if it were more readable :(
Btop shows cached iirc
Does btop work on windows?
Oh crap there's a port for windows
Not sure it'll work the same though
:o
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, Montech KING 95 PRO ATX Mid Tower
Fixed
Granted this RTX 5080 does not give you a proportional increase in performance over the 5070 TI
It does fit the budget
but you get Gigabyte on both the GPU and board, both are white, so again all the RGB will sync
that was about to be my question
and this uses the King95 Pro case which is a bit nicer for a first time builder because it does have all the fans preinstalled
for the price difference is the 5080 worth over 5070ti
of course not
In terms of performance/$ no
If you prefer to just upgrade later down the line
You can probably end up spending the same amount of money for two gpus
Techpowerup puts the RTX5080 at 15% ahead of a 5070TI
so stick with 5070ti and upgrade later if needed or wanted too?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Montech KING 95 PRO ATX Mid Tower
Although I have reservations about pump longevity
When it comes to Ryzen builds the only two AIOs I really consider are either Thermalright or Arctic Cooling
I'd trust arctic more in this case
Thermalright is good because it's cheap and works
Arctic is good because of the offset mount and thick rad
Also the pump might last longer
I'm a bit skeptical on the pumps
You don't want the pump to die on a $3000 PC
I've sold a few Intel systems with Thermalright coolers, and they all still work as far as I'm aware
hmm
no but on my current pc ive never had cooling problems
How old are they?
up to 2 years old
these are my current specs
no
And do you want to take that risk on $3000
no
It's also a little bump up to 1000W on the PSU because it's not much more money
Is that CL28 kit the cheapest white ram
no
RGB sync?
yes
Ah
Z5 Neo is the most compatible ram I've come across for AM5
i probably would have done that anyways just because i run alot off my pcs sometimes and for expandability
Usually I'd optimise it a bit more to price/perf but this is a $3000 build
Different considerations here tbh
This is the one and only time I'm gonna say this, because I don't want to harp on it
but Anxiety if you're not interested in having to assemble a $2000+ PC yourself and rather have a professional do it, I build and ship PCs across the country and have a store set up on Jawa.gg, it will cost a good chunk more than the parts cost since there are fees I incur by selling through Jawa and I don't build things for free. But if that interests you just let me know
My day job is managing an online custom PC business, and I also do this as a side gig type thing. I've built a few thousand PCs at my day job, always with perfect cable management and fully tested before shipment
maybe but i can keep it in mind, i have some people i know that have built before but i persoanlly would also like to learn but ill keep it in mind
Friendly reminder that if you do decide to take him up on his offer, try to keep it outside of the newegg discord server to be safe with the rules
^^
gotcha
So DMs
thats why i sent him a friend request if i wanted too
Excellent
I'm just looking at his existing specs and going
that was a solid PC
but I'm curious since 2021 was peak shortage time how much that cost
$2,402.31 from nzxt
is how much i paid after fees and tax and stuff
wtf
but listen vim
which personally i thought wasnt that baf
before you blow a gasket
Prebuilt prices?
bad for the market
To be fair - when he bought his PC, a 3060TI was selling for somewhere in the $700-800 range
this was when the 30 series cards were like 1k
Ah was it shortage era?
yes
Oh yeha
extreme
thats why i said this
however i will say i hate the motherboard i have in my pc now
It's better now tho
edit goes hard
The price of the 8GB on the market right now is fine
its vims best friend atp
LMAO
I switch between three keyboards
Muscle memory
gk61 is what i mainly use
I use a singular keyboard at home and a singular keyboard at work
and my muscle memory remembers how to type based on where I am
Keychron C3 Pro at home, and OEM garbage at work
nice
i use my laptop's keyboard
Also @thin sentinel I know it's like, ridiculously late in the conversation to say this
but usually #building-and-recc-chat is where we chat about build ideas
LOL
so if you wind up having any other questions about it just ping me there
and I'm going to bed cuz it's 3am
oh ok lol i just founf this discord today off the newegg website and joined lol

NVIDIA (NVDA) GPUs have become so in-de...
same and i gotta be up in 4 hrs for dr appointment
it's back
Based
China is like also saying that Nvidia is breaching anti monopoly laws
Based?
China’s market regulator on Monday accused Nvidia of violating Chinese antimonopoly laws and said it would continue investigating the leading U.S. chipmaker. The State Administration for Market Regulation issued a brief statement on Monday saying a “preliminary investigation” found Nvidia in violation of the Chinese law in connection to it...
Oh Nvidia acquired Mellanox which was the cause of this
5 years ago
Based China
I know China has ulterior motives
But Nvidia is getting what they deserve
It's definitely being used as a tool/weapon for the trade war but Nvidia also is... Pretty deserving of it
You don't just screw everyone over and then not expect to get screwed
The consequence of hubris
China also has a lot of bargaining chips
I suspect the Chinese government wants to get something out of this
Might also have something to do with the embargo
Either way, it's funny to see Nvidia getting screwed for a change
All big companies need to get a taste of their own medicine
Like Nintendo hastily filing patents to bully Palworld
And said patents somehow being approved
Patenting game mechanics lmao
I'd say they should to an extent
What Nintendo does
Is use the vaguest possible terminology
Nintendo is patenting every little bit however
And then blank sue everyone
I agree with certain things, but
When it's literally every little thing there is
That's just bullying
That are not entirely relevant mind you
They use the vaguest possible wording with the broadest possible interpretation
It's actual scummy business
Yeah
This should be illegal
This is probably something that the US would absolutely fight against
ye
Because of their own games industry
Like AAA might just gang on Nintendo if they do something stupid
Microsoft, Sony, everyone
They can probably appeal to the administration
Right
You know how the current administration has a unique characteristic that let them bypass red tape?
Nintendo also locks all third party accessories from using the second usb-c port
On the switch 2
Nintendo doesn't really go after the big guys though
So probably unlikely to threaten anyone that'll get the attention of the US admin
So they just bully the little guys
Outdated hardware
The only reason that nintendo has retro games on the e shop is so they can keep the copyright
ya
And also money
They learned
And it's not that scummy
What's scummy is that
Streaming their games isn't allowed
That's just annoying
Yep
It doesn't even make sense
Silencing free publicity is like
They're just braindead in this instance
You'd think that the free advertising is better
You'd think they would connect the dots by now
But no they're actually stupid in this case
I'm less annoyed by the scummyness but rather the stupidity
Like really?
They're just bullying people for no good reason
You'd think the greedier move is to exploit the free publicity
And partner with content creators
But no
Like if they sent a bunch of people free review copies
Literally free advertisement
I truly don't get it
Wow these thermalright fans are ass
At least they move good air though
But man these noises are really bad
I wonder what would happen if you swap in NF-A12s
My noctuas are really damn good
My F12s are on my laptop cooling pad
Very quiet, keeps my laptop cool while gaming
I want to get fans for cooling modem hardware
I like having quiet fan
arctic made p12s that are equipped like a desk fan right>

Grasshopper
and a spider broke his legs trying to climb up my pants
France is broke
joining wars for war taxes
the absolute sate of france
wtf
WE ARE SO BACK
I'm going to take out loans to repay my loans
lmao
These are 3.75% interest loans
if I take out the 1% interest loans it'd be cheaper
Another German war
These wars are slightly annoying
But I need a strong ally
Plunder Burgundy to refill my treasury
the absolute state of France
I hate these borders so much
I still can't annex Orleans because literally every great power is supporting their independence
WTF
The US annexed my colony
Native USA?
This is kinda based ngl
I'm going to subjugate them
Wholesome Manifest Destiny?
yeah no I'm annexing them
Sad
they stole my colony
