Oh wait sales over

It should come back soon
Missed that lol
Christmas is around the corner
And 4th gen panels are coming soon too
(If u work with text btw oled has this weird fringing which is annoying)
This how it looks
AMD AM6 with PCIe 6 and DDR6 support may support exising coolers Bits and Chips shared some interesting information from their sources. Apparently, despite increasing the pin count for AMD’s next-next-gen desktop CPUs, the socket size may remain similar enough to support existing coolers. According to the site, the total pin count will exceed ...
@craggy shoal if u got good finances pretty sure amex does major cashback on dell.com purchases like a 100 bucks or smth
Bruh we just got AM5
Not in that tax bracket yet lol
Always have to have it
Nvidia capture

Also i got hdr on maybe its cuz of that?
The swift looks real cheap tho
naw
Cloud is a Swiftie confirmed
I use Cloudflare
😏
i hate that guy
What I hate about recording HDR is how desaturates everything
do you think people will try to put am5 cpus in it?
good morning everyone

PCI-SIG® Announces PCI Express® 8.0 Specification to Reach 256.0 GT/s The upcoming PCIe® specification is targeted for release by 2028 SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PCI-SIG® today announced the PCI Express® (PCIe®) 8.0 specification will double the data of the PCIe 7.0 specification to 256.0 GT/s and is planned for release to mem...
8 gig cards will remain
Watch it happen
wil we get x4 lane gpus
pcie 8 card with 8 gigs because the amount of bandwicth to the cpu will not impact performance as much
And about that
9060 is gonna be x16

So its gonna be better than the 5060 in vram limited scenarios
makes it more usable on older systems
Yeah and for newer systems you wont tank as hard with 8 gigs. i really do think they will use pcie generations as a way to keep vram low
Brutal
pcie gen 8 prob wont be used for a while on consumer system
we dont even have 6 yet
Yeah I know
companies will love it for their ai farms
Just saying as the bandwidth doubles with 6, they will use that to keep being stingy with vram
And a hypothetical where it still happens even further into the future
sotru

LOL WHAT
hows this speed
Is good
the type of speed i envy, very good
Sped
these consoles catching up like crazy, and i know its gonna be mad expensive
your heart making fresh beats
XOC
Anyone have experience with ABS eurus ruby?
I got it working btw
USB & all
well not quite
can't get drivers working for HD7970 quite yet
I think it's because there are a bunch of PCIe devices for the motherboard without drivers rn
Fr
bro is having a heard attack
hmmm.
NO!!!
all pcs obsolete
lol dammit why are there no Z790 Chipset drivers for Windows XP?
Impossible
Console is supposed to be absolute unmitigated bullcrap
slowly its not
imagine if they stopped subscriptions for online services
PC is truly cooked if so
😭
looks like we need a 5090 now
The prices is miles ahead too 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Anybody watch the pc games show?... tells ya what ya need to know.
probably will be by the time those launch
Don't worry every game is just $80 and the internet has a console tax on top of your internet bill
not really
Will only cost 7k for a competitive option pc wise.
true...arent they projected for 2027?
$7k? lol what the heck are you putting in there?
i mwan even if PC was still ahead an RTX 5080 type console is no slouch
50 noctua fans
6090
6090 will save us....
This
$7k to perform 7% better
6090 will cost 6090
realistically, 6090 will probably be what? $2500-$3k MSRP?
that's not even halfway to $7k tho
"Msrp" so like 5-6k
lol for the first 6 months probably
My bet is 3-3.5k
The 5090 msrp was overpriced in the first place
MSRP now is a joke, its time to look at the market prices
It's not worth anything more than $1699
MSRP acts as a third party price inflator
They needa sell ts at a loss
What
cheapest 5090 on newegg is Zotac SOLID OC for $2400
English?
MSRP is a myth.
It costs like 2$ to make a 5090 right?
lol I love how it's $2400 & those @$#%@ still charge $13 to ship it
I mean purely for manufacturing
you got money right? now buy shipping
-newegg probably
oddly it's the only 5090 shipped by newegg with that you have to pay for shipping...
Bru
lol I can't even complain about prices on 5090. I lost all my credibility when I bought my 4090
you guys may be wondering why im not active anymmore
im on a new account 👅 thats all
I was just thinking
I'm not wondering
"gosh why isn't VextroAi active anymore?"
Who
im hungry,. what do i eat
probably not long until $900 video card is low end
so I was trying to get WinXP Integral working right & didn't touch it for like 10 minutes or so
and my screen saver came on
these heckers make the default screen saver scrolling text
Boeing got boeing'd

lol I wonder how that guy is doing these days
Let's go back to 2015 and complain about how Intel is fumbling and stagnant
Probably still shilling nzxt
We can meme on amd for being useless too

If I am remembering the correct person then yes iirc
he's the dude who got a 3080ti then got a 4090 or something
Okay no I'm thinking of someone else then
I've been here on and off for 5 years, that guy who was a NZXT shill but was banned from NZXT is vague for me
U need legacy driver for it
I think
I got one from AMD's website but installing it doesn't do anything
I mean... it should work... 980ti can work supposedly & that came out like 2 years later or something
ati drivers
lol aren't they notoriously bad or something?

wait a second... reading 3dguru & what not, there may not be an HD7970 driver for XP

pretty sure XP drivers ended at HD 4000 series
Almost as if they said they are on the verge of cancelling everything
You don't say that everything is getting nixed next year if nobody contracts out your production if everything was going fine
This is honestly embarrassing for that company, this is what happens when you stay entitled and stagnate for too long
This is what happens when a company takes on a big money sink and doesn't even work out how they'll make money on it before they start spending money
this ostensibly works https://archive.org/details/sapphire-amd-radeon-drivers-12135
i thought 18a was okay technologically, they can't find customers? iirc this was the same issue they had with Intel 4, so they just pushed on and said "well we'll make 18A really good so people will buy that instead"
it actually showed a driver in the catalyst install thing but let's see
Government doing subsidies if we sink a ton of money on our unprofitable fabs?!?!?! Guess we gotta sink the entire company building them now
wth is this even supposed to mean? early computer crap was weird man
Apparently some sources claimed that yields aren't great still
AMD secretly getting into nuclear fusion
lol ya in 2012 ig
oh heck
my screen resolution changed after restart
we might be getting somewhere
fusing cores together for fx?
The future is fusion fission bros
Nuclear CPU

Intel xess 2.1 frame generation supported on all gpus ig
The new Intel Fab that we built in the desert only to cancel production after it was equipped and staffed

Now we just need to find out how to write off a multibillion dollar failure in our taxes
create manufacturing that requires water
put it in a desert
nvm cancel it
They are fine
For now
Precisely
C'mon bro we are going to save so much money on hauling sand if we build it in the place that will be inhospitable in a couple years
I wonder why it thinks there are two monitors tho... odd
Yeah if they cancel the projects now and stop spending they'll prevent themselves from having negative profit within the next 5
ngl i kind if stan arc now, but i still don't want them to make a big push
i think losing tons of money on neat GPUs is probably bad for their GPUs going forward, let alone the businesses they have that actually make money and could use that funding
Yea if Intel ever fails I hope that the GPU side manages to stay alive
And become its own thing
Surely their CPU segment won't bomb next gen 😐
Maybe Intel could buy their own silicon and find an excuse not to close their own fabs
"We did it guys we found a customer the fabs continue"
It'd be like the Obama giving himself a medal meme but intel
ya but they kinda have a pretty major incentive in AI to keep GPUs going
not consumer GPUs really
if they're making GPUs, won't they have some mediocre yields they can sell us? lol
I imagine the data center GPUs are too far gone for them to get into at this point. Unless they pull some Intelium grade magical product out of thin air
they used to use their fabs to produce their products. but after 10nm/Intel 7 went bad they switched to TSMC
the architectures for enterprise and gaming are very different. take a loob at BG200 vs BG202 for an example on the Nvidia side of things
Nvidia gets away with selling rehashes of their enterprise architectures that are more optimized for non-enterprise tasks, but they have a captive market for that, which Intel does not

Intel’s still strong for mobile chips no?
Mobile yea
oh I heard a rumor
Hx something
Seems like the intel mobile chip used in msi’s premium handheld pc is on par with amds z2extreme
Intel just hasn’t seemed to heavily market those like amd have
Wasn't the MSI handheld a dumpster fire?
Dual CCD X3D https://wccftech.com/amd-readies-new-3d-v-cache-ryzen-9000-zen-5-desktop-cpus-8-core-96-mb-16-core-192-mb-dual-x3d/
Because the CPU had problems?
The first one yeah they came up with another one months ago but haven’t been able to deliver on availability
X3d on laptop must be nice
Imagine they stuff in so much l3 cache that the next break through is gonna be stuffing a shitton of l2 cache
I'm sure they can find something to do with them. Maybe just release 50 different versions like AMD & AM4 CPUs or something
(I am uneducated in the matter of whether or not that will provide a worthwhile performance increase or not)
Do you guys think another am4 cpu will drop again?
lol how much vcache do we need before we just don't use RAM anymore?
isn't 5500X3D happening? or happened I dunno
50 different versions of a massive 1000+mm^2 APU that basically lacks shaders in favour of low precision accelerators
Imagine dedicated slot on your mobo next to your cpu. Vcache slot
Just size of a sd card
XD
not tryng to be a hater i just think they're doing the right thing for the wrong circumstances
Its close enough to the cpu maybe the slot can go at the back of the board where cpu at
Ooo
No more latency
I just hope arc will survive so I'm reaching ig lol
i'd rather they cut GPUs if it helps keep their core businesses afloat than continue losing money u til they spiral into IBM 2
i hope so too
I think that would just be RAM again cuz it's relatively far away from CPU
Rtx Rx Arc 6000 GT XT Ti Super
until copper traces turn into fiber optic or something
But at the back of the board tho.. where cpu socket is at .
It came out in June
lol just put it on the back of the socket or something
cut out a hole in the motherboard
might even cool better who knows
It is a Latin America exclusive so that is why nobody knows about it currently
Hmm
It'd technically be L4 cache
Cache also used to be on the mobo too. Way way back L2 cache was on the board rather than the cpu
Gpu Thursday :D
Thermal Compound Thursday
I think it is ya
I meant im getting my gpu
Are you?
Most hopefully
Could be getting bricks in a gpu box
Bruh
Well I'll just open it at the store for convenience
If it is bricks, im sure they'll let me find a real one
If it is factory sealed you'll probably be fine, I'm just taking a dig yeah?
This existed. It was called COAST... Cache On A STick, and was in the 90s. It was much slower than on die cache

I don’t think that’s even an hdmi adaptor anymore
Mostly because it doesn’t have hdmi
Also because it’ll probably lag at any resolution
igpus are better than that
Convert the dvi to hdmi via a cable
wonder what kind of hardware you would need for Cyberpunk pathtracing ultra in 8k at 240 fps
this thing would lag rendering a single pixel
It will be childs play xD
Near future
Is the near future 20 years?
In 20 years the mid range priced entry level will still be 1080p cards

What backpack is this? (I need it)
Uhh
Idk if u wanna know
It was a lot
Like think of a reasonable number and double it
I'm fine with it being $200
Its the ltt wan backpack
Ltt backpack? (Lttstore.com)
Yes
oh LTT idc then
Called it
Then I guess I need their supplier (would be a lot cooler imo)
See the problem with this logic
Is a lot of the time
Its hard to find the supplier, not to mention buy ONE item
And even past that most of them have contracts binding them to only sell through ltt
Chinese websites exist. It only takes a name to find them lol
Buying them is easy. Finding the name of company who makes them is difficult
I rlly doubt they would sell you one
I've only had it for 6 hrs cant review it yet
Once it gets filled with laptop and textbooks then we'll see
My og roots backpack lasted me uhhhh 8 years
One off test samples exist, but they typically cost like 2x+ more than individual items in a bulk purchase
So, impractical
yikes
wth....why dos using my keyboard and mouse feel soo strange after being away from a PC for 2 months
💀
A better question: How did you put Discord on dos?
bro built a Discord client for dos 😭
DiscOS
Discord isn’t really that different from IRC’s
Because you're not locked in yet

Correct.back to the gaming grind
yeah sure just send them some money and theyll give it to youy in a few ||decades||
hype them up so nvidia got scare
then lower the card price
hehe
true the sample includes $10k on a envolop and a picture of chuck norris + NDA
thats prob the third "we beat nvidia" headline i read this year
-Theranos

I swear these silicon company startups only hire 3D artists
which gpu is it
Although when I went to windows I could do 200 as well
So idk if those could do 200 from the vbios or if adrenalin just lets them do it from the driver
what skin is that? drawing a blank, i assume citrine
yea citrine deluxe
It's from the same company every time I've seen the headline
Also it's 99% fake
And it's not because of their ridiculous claims
But their company site is blatantly AI generated
Or at least was a year ago when we looked at it
where's the fricken 1% real
The 1% is that they somehow actually did it but was just too lazy to actually make a proper site
no one have smaller chip node than tsmc and samsung so without smaller node no one can change current market
unles they use something different than silicon
all headlines with "we beat big semiconducter companies" are obviusly fake
they have Bsmc
Bean Semiconductor Manufacturing Company

bro wth. My RAM overclock keeps failing FFTv4/VT3 but it takes like 26 hours to happen
this sort of thing is why I don't OC RAM
I get the appeal to OC'ing, but yeah imma just stick to buying RAM that can handle the speed I need lol
Some overclockers do that they just mess with timings
Yeah I'm aware of that
and that falls within the similar category
so yeah still needs work and effort put into gettin the most outta somethin
They almost should be called "RAM latency decreasers" rather than "RAM OC'ers"
True
or ram optimizers

You were more awake than me I guess

i have a feeling most ppl who messes with their computer hardware are autistic to a degree
not to be rude ofc
Nah you're probably right 💀
There’s probably some link
im guilty of some of this myself
True 💀
"toonig"
Man I hate printing with black filament and trying to view the print with a camera
Can't see anything
I need an AMS riser to I can put a light in my printer
What are you 3D printing
Eventually it'll look like this
Already have most of the stack
Actually I need to put it back where it belongs. Kinda not the best space lol
Pointless video then lol
All threee of these plates takes 12.75 hours (given the filaments and printer I'm using, and of course the settings that I've set)
Damn not bad, are they sturdy
Deym
Get new ram again should fix it
it's fiiiine
I think
the thing is, the room I was testing it in has its own AC
& it's off overnight
so it's probably like 85F+ by the time it borks out
heck I dunno
ig I'll keep playing with timings
Nice
How much even is a 3D printer. I remember a few years ago they cost a few grand 💀
There's a couple options. You want to learn how 3D printers work? I'd say start on an Ender 3 (like roughly $200, depending on the specific one you go with). If you want something that just works, get a Bambu Lab A1 ($349 rn). I wouldn't bother with the A1 mini. People are like "it's not THAT small." It's pretty small lol
My printer (Bambu Lab P1S) is $549 rn
And now I feel ripped off because I paid $700 for this thing almost a year ago (maybe it has been a year. I forgot lol)
You can get it with the AMS for $749, or with the AMS 2 Pro for $869
Personally I'd start on any of those printers. If you go the Ender 3 route, you might as well upgrade to a P1S or even a Bambu Lab H2D when you're finally fed up with trying to get reliable prints with the Ender 3 lol
I’d probably start with the 200$ one, too broke to spend $ 800 on one rn
Is it that bad
Keep in mind that you'll also be spending some money on upgrades. I got my Ender 3 for Christmas and ended up putting $100 worth of upgrades on it just to get reliable prints
What’d you upgrade on it
Also a Raspberry Pi running OctoPrint and a spare webcam I had at the time just to get some extra controls and make it a remotely accessible printer
Damn that sounds like a lot of parts
- New motherboard (makes the motors quieter, might've been like $40?)
- Some stuff to keep the print bed level (stock is very loose and sometimes completely makes the bed unleveled)
- Extruder upgrade (OEM is plastic and can fail. Also came with the bed leveling stuff, overall a $40 kit when I bought it)
- Raspberry Pi cost for remote printing can vary, use any spare system you can tbh, not taking up too much energy for just remote printer access lol
- Power supply extension cable (maybe like $10? Needed it because the bed would usually run into the stock PSU cable. It just needed some slack)
- PEI plate (Honestly, make this your first upgrade. Should be like $20 iirc)
I had a spare Raspberry Pi and webcam
I didn’t even know u could upgrade the parts inside lol
How much did it all cost like 1k?
Nice thing with the Ender printers is that they're quite user serviceable/upgradeable
...But often take some tweaking to get working well
Nah, printer was like maybe $200, but I got it for Christmas. The motherboard inside the printer kinda sucks. You can upgrade to a better one that has a specific chip that makes the stepper motors MUCH quieter. I'm not an electronics engineer, so I'm not sure how it works
For the Raspberry Pi, it was just a spare one that you can plug directly into the front of the printer. I printed a webcam mount to the printer so I could view the print (whole RPi setup was external from the printer)
Yea I was thinking of getting that cause it’s the cheapest. But if it’s something that needs to be upgraded soon I might as well wait and get the higher end one
Might be able to find a used one that's already had some upgrades done, idk
If you want something that just works, the Ender 3 is more of a "the poor man pays twice" type of printer. You'll spend time stressing and upgrading it anyways
But if you like tuning things, the Ender 3 is actually great lol
If I didn't have so many other hobbies, I'd focus my money on fully upgrading my Ender 3 (but I have a GTI now. I want to put my money into that lol)
Tbh I have no idea how to tweak with 3D printers, I barely know how they work
But ye I have other things I could spend the money on. So the $200 one looks most appealing
True, but keep in mind that I've warned you lol
You'll eventually spend $100 in upgrades anyways lol. Plus a lot of stress with prints failing. Still overall a great printer for learning how they work
true
Unless it ends up costing as much as the 500$ one with the upgrades I’d probably get the cheaper one
Keep in mind that you'll end up getting a better printer eventually anyways lol
I was actually going to upgrade from an Ender 3 to an A1. But at the time, the paused production of the A1 to figure out a recall with the power cable, so I ended up spending more and got a P1S instead lmao
I don’t even have anything complicated to print, idk what I’d make, probably some mouse shells for a start 💀
You think that at first lol
If you've had a few moments like "man I wish I had a 3D printer for this one thing," you'll definitely go down the rabbit hole of printing everything
My gf got annoyed because I kept talking about my printer lmaooo (if you know me well enough, that says something)

Intel core i was 14
dawg what 😭
what
huh what
Intel core i7
Intel core i7
Intel core i7
Intel core i7
Was like 15 when they dropped the branding
Bruh
i like how the core i branding is so powerful some ppl still calls core ultra as core i
they do? that’s wild
i mean it's been forever since intel decided to ruin the naming
for smth weird
we went from p4 to core and core 2, then core i for almost a decade
it became iconic pretty much
what was before ryzen
amd fx
Oh
even before that would be phenom and athlon
But yeah they released in 06
Athlon isn’t before it technically right because they are low low power CPUs
like celeron and pentium
athlon used to be high end
So make that 20 yrs(sorry millenials)
then phenom came in and slotted in
phenom x2 x3 x4 x6 (core count)
Before that?
those were the fun amd times where you can unlock cpu cores that were disabled lmao
Turion?
nah
Just because im a bot doesn't mean I can spell /j
turion is low end
before that it was like..
amd k-xx (numbers)
and k-8 for example
Was intel 80386 high end
Remember when Intel was good?
I actually have this chip
zoomers rise up
amd started off by reverse engineering intel chips
their cpus were literally intel design, just a cheaper alternative
slots right into the same socket
no wonder intel hated them lol
intel stopped allowing that so amd had to start resorting to actually making its own designs
You sure? The laptop looks gutted lol
funny thing is amd developed the x86-64 architecture
intel tried but failed with Itanium64
I-64
It is, it stopped working a long time ago one sec
so intel has always been paying for amd's license to make 64 bit x86 chips
in a way the two competitors benefit each other
Why else would it be named athlon
Athlete
Fast
because marketing i guess
intel downgraded the pentium name severely as soon as pentium 4 era was over
What socket is this
laptop cpu moment
that socket can take up to a quad core chip
phenom ii quad-core mobile
spicy single core
lowest of the lowest for mobile cpus
well if it actually worked
you were lucky to have a dual core turion then lol
i really want to get a refurbished model of this laptop to relive what it was like
how so
those were like in more expensive models of laptops
oh nice
lemme find the model
its an HP pavilion dv4
but it also says altec lansing on it
whatever that means
that's audio branding
i used to also have a pavilion, tho it was equipped with i3 2310m
pavilion g4
now it's long gone, i gave its husk to someone lmao
AMD VISION technology is keeping it cool with laptops that run up to 9.6 degrees cooler than body temperature, go ahead Touch my Bottom.
this is a cursed ad
i copied the entire os onto one of my drives before it was broken, and i found a lil something in it
i mildly regret digging into the rabbit hole of old amd marketing
and i know with personal experience that amd vision laptops does NOT run cool at all
even to the touch
they were hot, so hot they'd throttle and shut down
that kinda low quality spooky music is kinda nostalgic
Huh?
Hello newegg ppl, is general the right place to ask this or the specific build part(s) chat? I have a parts list for my current PC I've had for some years and want to ask what's good to upgrade it
I've been wrapped in college and haven't been able to do too much research/practice building in years😓
yeah i can help
send the list
Average titan w
it did
Ok are you planning to build a new pc very soon
and what is your budget
This one?
Yes okay it worked! I've saved up around 1,500 for upgrade(s)
Oh this is your current pc
Yes please, I'm getting close to running out on my current projects
With $1500, you'll probably want to upgrade everything but the case and fans
with your budget you can basically build a whole new pc
What do you want to keep with your current one besides case
I could keep fans, Case, and/or ssd and solid storage if needed
probably good to keep the storage and just add onto it
would you like faster storage or just more bulk storage
Can you run down which is for what? I have musicTheory work and making on my Daw, and I'm learning to make videos and stream
i guess more bulk would be good for you, so maybe another hdd
I apologize I'm not as updated as I used to be with pc stuff
no worries
are you fond of the idea of getting new cpu, motherboard, gpu, power supply, and ram?
If needed then I don't mind at all, and lot of this stuff is approaching 5+yrs old, right?
yeah its a pretty old build lol
i will get started on the list
Another thing, do you prefer an all in one liquid cooler for your cpu or an air cooler?
Air cooler is more than fine as that's what I've helped build in other ppl's things. You're talking abt the fan sets with tubing set just to cpu?
Like I don't have to be bending tube's n stuff?
AIOs are all-in-one, you don't have to fill the tubes, you don't have to bend the tubes
This kinda thing
liquid coolers are cooler and cooler respectively
lol
it comes with coolant already in the loop and sealed for you
Lol okay then, let's do one of those coolers this time
The only thing with your case is that itll have to be mounted on the front
which is fine in terms of performance
Changing the case is fine with me, too
I've seen these L shaped open glass cases at my nearby tech store, let me find a picture
Cheater cheater pumpkin eater
With just keeping case and storage, adding onto the storage, you can practically have a new build, but can also cut back and change bits here and there as needed

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Phanteks Eclipse P300A Mesh ATX Mid Tower
Fishtank cases like the Y60?
that drive is wild lol
somehow it's the cheapest drive that's known to not be qlc at 4tb
Yeah yeah!
they look cool but are expensive
I really like those more open face designs
If their price would impact the actual specs of the build, than I don't mind a cheaper case and save later
xg7000 can be qlc, ud90 can be qlc, p400 lite is unknown, vp4300 lite can be qlc, mp44q is qlc, p3 plus can be qlc, us75 can be qlc, nq780 doesn't have good data, g50 doesn't have good data, and somehow s880's 4tb model is only known to be YMTC TLC lol
what is qlc
fitting one into the budget is definitely possible, just have to cut some small corners
quad level cache, gives you more storage density but performs worse and can have less endurance than tlc
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D5PHHCK5?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 how do you like the look of this
If you're going to be doing work off of the drive with larger files, it's best to get tlc just in case you use enough to run out of the pslc cache and it has to start using the native nand

they might not need 4 whole tb
@gusty coral How long did it take to fill up your 3 terabytes
ud90 2tb can be qlc too, tbh I'd just cut the corners and take the qlc xg7000 4tb to fit the case in, pslc cache tends to be big enough in general
These look dope, But I think I'll stick with black, The Monarch XR @arctic lily showed is very cool

Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Around 2020-21 to now
Mr1111 can you change the storage in this
I still got 200Gb sum storage left after cleaning old projects
oh yeah then you should be ok with another 2
yeah do clean up old stuff too
Mk then!
What about the Sama sv01? that'll open you up to 360mm aios later if needed
wtf is this
the montech xr supports a 360
the plus is just another piece of metal 💀
actually xr would be fine too, sv01 just supports both side and top mount 360
top mount is preferable
anyways something like this
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PWvrgn
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Montech XR ATX Mid Tower
Yea I'd do top mount, having extra options doesn't hurt though
Lets do that then, I was having a hard time picking between the two so either is great
if you make it 2 tb more instead of 4tb they can get a 9600x
who buys a 7000 series for a brand new build anymore
I would lmao
Screen on every pc components are the new meta now it seems
it's like a 2% difference from 7600x to 9600x in most scenarios
What exactly will you be doing with the PC? What specific applications?
both cases support 360mm aios
theres too many people talking to the builder
I mean I'd usually take sv01 for the extra included fans but it doesn't really matter when there are already preowned fans
both are fine here
Ill be doing a lot of at-dorm/home work for college and music on my DAW, I currently play smash Competitively and use my obs for recording vids and making videos/guides to share
How about moving to #building-and-recc-chat to get the conversation streamlined?
good idea
It's made me want to play more pc games, and learn to start streaming them
everyne go there
A close friend of mine does motion design and offered to make my stream transitions and screens
Lucky.
Lmao yeah, I'm being "friend discounted" in exchange for it being a new format instead of just music synching
@gusty coral they’ve moved to #building-and-recc-chat btw
Oh kk! Thank you
ah
Last thing, the agreement also has me making an original song for them to synch stuff to
using 33w charger on a laptop which originally supports 45w would decrease its performance in terms of gaming?
for example take valorant, can i improve fps using 45w charger??
very much so

is wooting the best keyboard out tbere??
not even metal, plastic
wild
Currently, the best switch type is arguably Hall Effect magnetic switches, and wooting offers options with those HE switches, but they're not the only option and they can't really be called the best option either, there are cheaper alternatives that work just as well, and there are more expensive better custom board options
NVIDIA says no to backdoors, calls them a threat to hardware security NVIDIA has taken a somewhat unprecedented step to share information about their GPU designs. In a blog post, the company responded to recent speculation, particularly from Chinese authorities, suggesting that NVIDIA hardware might include hidden mechanisms that allow remote c...
Hmmm
For gaming? Yes
RRRIIIIIIGGHHT
😂
a bit sussy ngl
why are they publishing that when no one talked about security?
Seems the Chinese said nvidia gpus have a back door, according to the article
Depends on the case
Intel CPUs have since forever
something something management engine
yes
So do AMD cpus
yep
was not aware of this
its called AMD PSP
Warhammerpunk 40077
the worst PSP ever, cant even play games
We have investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing
This is true
nvidia is very guilty of plenty but until there is evidence of them spying I don't think it is unreasonable to assume they are not
i doubt nvidia spies on its users from a gpu firmware level
It is reasonable to assume a company is doing the worst, especially when it is monopolistic and has bad consumer relations
but its nvidia app software? likely
nvidia wouldn't build this into hw anyways, but in software/driver
i mean, if they would they could
honestly they should release it as a top end enthusiast chip
Intel didn't even need Ryzen to fall apart... it was falling apart internally on its own lol
Luna skin. Need
if anything this can be a threadripper
16 core gaming Threadripper with all the lanes one could ask for
but cache only does so much in tr workloads
and sometimes it even results in regression
There is this trope that stands true where "Insert whatever" killer would end up dying but it's rival destroys itself instead
I'd assume that applies to gaming too but we were just never near the performance plateau
tbh x3d does benefit you but
if you're looking at 1440p or above that effect starts to diminish
It applied in games that don't care about extra cache. The decreased clock counts effect performance
especially in gpu blind games
nvidia is not far off of just pulling a 2015 Intel and stagnating enough for their competitors to run them down
bound*
IPC matters
AMD FX: lol whats ipc
8 CoReS
7GHZ and still get clapped by a 3ghz cpu
alr bro

after seeing that im a bit skeptical about spending more for 3d cache lol
that money can be put towards like a better gpu
That performed like 2
closer to 4 but yes it was bad
Exaggerating
4 cores 8 threads im guessing
inverted multithreading
FX 4300 was 2 cores
no, 8 cores but every two cores shared some parts
it was cursed
it's more so because resources were shared
what in the PS3 frickery?
effectively cutting the performance in half
since the cores have to wait to take turns to use the cache
and that's inefficient as hell
beyond high level cache yeah absolutely not
l3 cache is usually shared anyway
but that doesn't have as severe as an effect as l2 or l1
What if CMT in 2025
there's a reason l1 is per core
not to mention shared fpus
I bet it could be forced to work
absolute death for gaming performance
DoA
fpu is like the cpu's math processor
Intel's newest product
sharing that naturally kills performance
they have to be extremely high to do that tho
meanwhile Intel was doing the proper opposite and putting multiple FPUs per core
Brotha took it right outta my mouth

Imagine
which is also what AMD does now... they learned
thank god it was corrected
a company can learn if it nearly kills them
without consoles amd would've been a goner
meanwhile intel in 2025
like gone gone
their investments into APUs ended up saving them
apu solutions ended up being the very thing that saved it
The only way sometimes
Intel iGPUs generally always lost to Radeon iGPUs even back when they were on the mobo chipsets
That and selling off a lot of their projects. Like selling the precursor to Adreno
it would be a much sadder world ngl
This bot bro
my 7800xt has been doing amazing
AMD probably saw ATI was doing well here then acquired them and continued efforts there
Fr
inb4 (now axed) rentable units (intel) were aiming to do a similar thing
alright intel where the rest of the gpus bruh?
Tru
worked out pretty well for them tbf
these days they're basically TSMC's closest partner, which is arguably a more advantageous position than simply having your own fabs
it used to be bleeding edge
Lisa fab when
but glofo is now focused on legacy/long term nodes
AMD buying Intel foundry
Glofo also operates with negative income
oof
Yeah I watched a video about them and they make chips for things you don’t really think about
I think the ceo said that
Fr
Maybe then they would actually make a node
hopefully Arm will be competitive against x86 (not counting Apple)
intel foundry is a disaster
2024 reports had them operating with a 200mil deficit
anyone buying it would be insane
samsung could use it tbf. Intel's nodes mostly work, but they can't find customers. meanwhile Samsung's mostly don't work, but they have tons of business connections
a merger would be goated
When intel drops 14a development what node will they jump to
samsung got to make new chips for tesla
As yes, two megacorps merging, what could go wrong
big money
samsung + intel = neighborhood heater
14nm++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Samsung the company with a country and Intel, the dumpster fire spiraling into the void being propped up by a different country
specifically intel foundry, intel as a whole would not need to consider merging with samsung. also that argument doesn't make much sense to me since both companies are flailing a bit. i'd rather have one working company competing than two failing ones not competing
intel 18A node is apparently facing yield issues
they found a niche where they can survive. Honestly smart given how crazy TSMC went
ngl they should shut down 18A i hear nothing but bad news from that Fab
this is getting ridiculous
Intel burning money in the wrong places fab wise ig
It doesn't matter if both companies are derping out. Big companies merging is rarely if ever good and Samsung already has a ton of influence without getting a major foothold in the US
until we get (or don't get) panther lake i think it's difficult to say for certain how accurate this is
panther lake i think is going to be the best indicator of 18a performance
if, not withstanding architectural flaws, the chips perform reasonably well and are in large volume, i think we reasonably conclude that 18a is at least okay
Microsoft getting Activision was enough proof there
otherwise... might be toast
aint samsung contribute to most of South Korea's GDP?
Yes
☠️
They also practically own the government
20%
