GPU acceleration makes it go faster, CPU always works but slow, either way you'll end up with the same thing

Now-a-days quality is usually the same. It's mainly a matter of using GPU if you have enough VRAM or CPU if you dont have enough VRAM but have enough RAM (and dont have options for tiled rendering).
