If you're a newbie to Linux, Mint and PopOS are good options. They're both ubuntu-based. Don't know about Fedora though. Mint and PopOS have their pros and cons though. I recommend you try those first.

What you could do, is set up Ventoy on an external flash drive with a popos and mint installation image on there, and fiddle around with each OS before actually choosing and installing one of them

many people will tell you "oh, try x" but there will be other crowds that tell you "try z" and "try y, it's got this desktop environment" but because there's so many distros out there you should probably try them out for yourself to see what you like. mint and popos are good starter distros to kickstart using linux

If you have a 1mm sheet of glass and a 15mm sheet of glass, do you say the build quality of the 1mm is worse cuz it breaks easier?
