I've actually done a rough calculation. I forgot the exact numbers, but for the price you pay for the end of a console's generation, you can build a decent PC, have it last for the same amount of time with better performance (theoretically), and playing online is still free

For consoles, it's like you're financing the experience by paying for either PS Plus or Xbox Live

I said earlier in a diff channel, no console has to be powerful. They use that as a selling point but most people buy consoles for exclusives, not usually for whatever power they have. Nintendo does well with low powered consoles cause they have a ton of high quality exclusives that will never come to PC. PS5 is only doing well cause they have a lot of timed exclusives, but if you don't mind waiting they have very few perm exclusives. Xbox has like no console only exclusives and make their money through gamepass
