No, the point is that I want to calculate the PPD (Pixel Per Degree). PPD is PPI (Pixel Per Inch) with distance. PPI is screen size and resolution.

2. Colour. 2nd to none.
3. Responsiveness. Almost instant. Fastest monitors for gaming bar none.
4. Motion clarity. It doesn't have blur. You get game blur, but everything is very smooth and clear, very little interpolation

A TV that's a lot bigger with some more pixels has less pixel density than a monitor that's a lot smaller with some less pixels

Cos you can thus use less pixels on the smaller screen to match the big screen, the smaller screen can be easier to run (i.e 1440p is easier at 27" for the same result)

The smaller they get, the more dense the pixels, the more sharp the screen

In order to look as clear as the tv

You need less pixels to be as equally dense

This is known as ppi or pixels per inch

So if the tv has a ppi of 86 at 4k

The monitor will have something more like

132 at 4k

Or something like that

So we can reduce this to 1440p

And it drops to 101 or so

Which is still more dense than the tv

Thus

More clearer

All other factors put to one side

The more the ppi, the sharper the picture, but beyond a certain point it gets really hard to tell the difference, and the more pixels on the screen a gpu needs to render, the harder it is to run a game

Okay so basically the point is to make sure that you wont notice the resolution be too low. Have you ever noticed shimmering, non-smooth edges, pixels, or any other indication that a monitor's resolution to not be high enough given it's use case?

Well in general that is defined by PPD (Pixel Per Degree). It's how many pixels your eye sees in a degree. That is defined by the PPI (Pixel Per Inch) of the display and the distance the display is to you.

The PPI (Pixel Per Inch), or pixel density, is defined by how many pixels fit in a certain area. This would be screen resolution and screen size.
