this doesnt look that good
also wait your walmart has a computer section?
mine doesnt
everyone is hopping on the pc bandwagon these days
They do
yeah but mine doesn't have stuff like this in there
it's always just some windows laptops and chromebooks
L Walmart
Oh yeah the walmart gun section
They used to sell some crappy guns but stopped
Now its just ammo and knives
That’s my target around me
Those are the only computers Target sells
Selling Celeron laptops for the price of i5/i7 laptops

I remember the back to school sale incident
This is literally all my target has
honestly that sounds about right
Worth or no i need opinions
bonus points for walking into your target to just prove a point
No
Sam's Club sells computers
I can go over to them in a minute if you wanna roast them too
My audio setup says that you don't need that
What I remember of it wasn't very good.
I have no idea what headphones to get then
Even worse than Best Buy and Best Buy is pretty bleh anyways
One time I went to that Best Buy and all they had out were PNY gpus
Like 3 of them
They weren't even in a cabinet they were just sat on some shelf at the far end of the tiny computer section
I had to use the white one
the black one has a copper cold plate & it's pretty beat
& frankly I don't wanna clean it rn heck that
it was either that or use this EK Velocity but it's pretty beat too tbh
needs to be like completely disassembled & cleaned
ig both do
heckin mess
I have got what I came for
that C*****r block would look really nice on Apex but I'm keeping my damn Apex lol
I need more garlic powder
I used up all of mine
But I've been avoiding going to the Bulk Barn (they sell ingredients in bulk for pretty good prices) to restock my garlic powder because of my coughing
Though I've nearly fully recovered so
For now I'll have to stick with only using fresh garlic
Target is cheap as hell for it
That’s where I get it
That bottle was $1.19
Love the no spec computers
$1.81cad/100 grams looking at the online pickup
From bulk barn
They’re overcharging you $.20ca
Store brand of the same size here is 2.49 usd
Good&gather usually has cheap basic stuff
But anything that’s special, massive up charge
We have one grocery store in town so they have a monopoly on prices
And as such they charge what they want
Don't like it? Go 15 minutes away for the next store
Also they have contacts in the local government to prevent any competitors from moving in
Closest we got is a Dollar General
And they have problems keeping stuff like that in stock
this block is smiling 🙂

MSI had its internal warranty (RMA) server publicly exposed, where hundreds of thousands of warranty records were available to anybody. There was no hack required, no account access required, and it was all in plain text. We held publication until MSI closed the server off...
bruh
Then like everyone else is scalping, garlic powder is more expensive pretty much everywhere except for maybe Costco, at least that I've seen
Significantly cheaper than Walmart
Slightly cheaper than the dollar store
Corporate margins go brrrrrr
Just raise everything a dollar and shrink the size a bit they'll buy it anyways
Yeah it's a bit more expensive than Costco's 2.5kg garlic powder
But I don't need that much garlic powder
I use alot of it, but not 2.5kg lot of it
Actually, the cheapest brand at the local store is 1.39usd for 2.5oz
Name brand like McCormick is 4.69 for 3.12oz

very normal audi
This room that is used for general communication concerning electronics and gaming culture between individuals spanning multiple corners of this globe is currently inactive and is in need of a revival
why is my timestamp off
the heck
my computer says 6:43
nvm
I wonder how it ends up desynced like that
oh well
time to break down 5000D build
well most of it
5000D has that extra door thing inside the case on the back
so pointless
lol one is enough but thanks for offering
weiners
still need to decide on my monitor
34 inch 3440x1440p or 32 inch 4k... I know everyone says the 32 inch is obvious but I already own a 32 inch monitor and essentially I not only want more res but also something bigger to make it feel worth it
What's your pc specs?
A key advantage of the 1440p over the 4k is that you don't have to upgrade as often if you want to keep gaming at higher settings on the latest titles
Good point
because the only other monitor I would get over a 32 inch 4k is the 49 inch 5440x1440
and I have two 27 inch 1440p monitors I will use on the side
49 inch?
yes the samsung g9
that's getting pretty close to a 4k monitor tbh
Yeah but essentially getting that. it would replace all my monitors
but then again the work space
I'm not ready to split up stuff in zones yet
It can be a bit janky
I think the 34 inch is a good balance
from a value perspective
Will you be gaming on the full ultrawide res if you get the 49 inch ultrawide?
Yes
hmm
ultrawide support might be a bit janky for that wide of an aspect ratio
But I do need to swap out my 32 inch monitor in the meantime
and surpisngly cheaper thant he 32 inch 4k.
I mean not really surpringly.
but yeah
1440p shouldn't be bad at that size
yeah honestly I'd get the 1440p
I could be a bit biased but
I prefer 4K displays with bigger monitors
so I'd ask around a bit more for other people's advices
I mean there are TVs that are 4k but the refresh rate won't be higher than 144hz
that is true
and they make a monitor that's 47 inch or so but that's 120hz.
So yeah no matter what amount money yuou have, you still have to consider pros and cons.
that's a really good way of looking at things
yeah the 1440p seems like a better all-rounder to me
in case you don't end up getting the second upgrade later down the line you can keep your current pc specs more or less the same for a bit longer before the gpu starts struggling at higher settings
I have a 4090 i913k
well that's the thing
even with high end cards 4K is still pretty intensive even in 2024
1080ti used to be a 4K card and now it's more of a 1080p (maybe 1440p for less intensive titles?) card
then again the 1080ti is also 8 years old
Now I have to return this 39 inch monitor.
oh you already got the 39 inch?
Well. It's sitting at my apartment office
oh lol
Made that mistake with the ppi.
I wouldn't say it's a mistake
It's only has 4 more ppi than m y 32 inch 1440p
more like a difference in perspective
oh
yeah in that case i can see what you mean
it's a different monitor than the ones we've looked at right?
and my current desk doesn't have the space. I was just gonna keep it until I moved which now my closing date is next month ;-;
it was suppose to be now.
What's disgusting isnt the fact that Zotac's/MSI's servers were available through web searches, but the fact that there is no user/pass authentication for important information. Should not be able to pull any info at all from the server without auth tokens. Just goes to show how little big companies care about their consumers.
guys i found a typo on wikipedia
another scandal?
I would not be surprised if I could still pull MSI's/Zotac's info if I knew the specific HTTPS fetch request info.
they care about security even less
yeah
that's the thing with big corps
they don't care until something really bad happens

How is Big tech expected to sell your information if they get hacked for that information
yall hear about the at&t leaks
Leak deez
What I don't get is that the customers are the ones that made your company big, and doing that to them is nothing but betrayal. That happens to like nearly every company in this blue sphere
Security? What's that
I legit might check since I have an MSI board but I never RMA'd their stuff before
Wait a minute... Is this why I kept getting over 10+ scam calls this week???

You see, the first mistake you made was thinking that a company would care about their customers
True
what u do is change your name to Share Holder...every company will take real good care of ya
Anyways, only the techies who watch tech news will hear about it and even some of them will eventually forget about it. The majority of people won't hear about it or will hear about it in passing and quickly forget about it

A plague to many
What if we buy stock in all of their companies, collaborate and pool our shares and threaten them if company do bad
We just a couple hundred million dollars. Ez
Hmmmm
Money printer go brrrr
That's interesting but will never happen
Hi newegg discord
Is anyone good at monitors
Is the Dell 34” curved ultrawide good?
Techie Consumer Consortium
144hz
ThiCC for short
lol
This montior
Oh nvm
I don’t think u could use this
My 6650 XT can’t do 1440p 144hx
I sim race
vee are
probably actually more cost effective tbh
Gg
wtf
What the white colour tax does to a mf
time to sell mine
ill give you $12
Damn uit
I missed the sale
I waited too long to buy the monitor I wanted.
God damn it
Guess I'll wait for prime days
Check Amazon warehouse
I'll probably do that.
I still need to send this 39 inch monitor back.
But I really shouldn't be buying much of anything
I'll be moving within the next month or so
Spend all money on PC. Become in debt for the mighty pc
Less stuff I have to move the better but I'm way too excited to buy stuff and I can't even have stuff sent to the new house yet
already have a 4090 13k
64gb ddr5 7000mhz
You are doing well young padawan
Yeah...too well that it's scary
But are you in debt
furniture and stuff
Making a credit card payment or use credit card payment to buy PC upgrade, this is what you must constantly be asking yourself
I should crop myself out of those pictures
nice and shiny
there's a higher chance of your cpu throwing errors
than it actually dominating in games
but it's true
The same chance of me getting a pc in the next 5 years
Any of yall know what the 55 means on the motherboard
Z790 Maximus hero
Lemme see
ok
Ram error
Is this first boot?
Cuz the ram brand new
Yeah it's training memory
Maybe reset cmos
But give it like 5 mins first
If nothing happens, reset cmos
Do I rearrange the ram
.@gawrgura SAID IT BEST. ENLIST IN THE EDF TODAY! 🎶
Pre-order EDF 6 NOW: https://t.co/cOOb6gCBog
I preordered it because its impossible for me not to enjoy this game
55 POST code usually means voltage issue on Z790 Apex at least
are you setting xmp? how many DIMMs?
@elfin mural Would drawing 365 watts through a PCIE 8-pin and a pigtail 6+2 be a risk?
yes
I got 55 to go away by using lower mem clock or turning xmp off all together
unless you mean
Damn you Corsair
Damn you for not putting an extra 8-pin cable into ATX 3.0 PSUs
Over this
it's Corsair's special sauce PSU connectors to 6+2s
I do have kind of an aversion to pigtail cables in general
but if it's safe, that's just a nitpick
of all things standardized
atx has no standardization for psu pinout on the psu side
so basically everyone has their own special sauce cables
some use the same as others, but there's no standardization, even within the same company ☠️
corsair has like 2 or 3 different psu connectors between their psus iirc
Ye I know that it's just
If the 2 cables wouldn't be safe for a 7900 XT Nitro+ then I'd have to get a different PSU
cuz the 850 RMe ATX3.0 is currently deeply discounted due to a vendor having a big sale
if the cable is like is like that, I'd think that it can handle it. Otherwise, why would they design it like that?
now if you used a splitter to turn a single one into two, that would be dangerous
It's more the limitation of what is included in the box
It was more a "Would the cables in the box be enough for this card?"
like this is dangerous
but it doesn't make sense to me that Corsair or any other PSU brand would sell their PSUs with those cables that have 2x6+2s on the same cable unless it could handle full load from two connections
& OCP should shut the PSU off long before the wire melts or something
if it was some cheap, no name brand PSU, I'd hesitate but Corsair is legit lol
Lol this video is kinda good
My next PC build need to make sure to have fans on the top for exhaust
coughs in 7435hs and 7235hs
ryzen 7 and 5 on zen 3+
with no igpu
Gigabyte go boom
turning the fps down while in the menu I"m sure let's my system breathe some
Should ™️
1600 t2 will detect most shorts instantly - but it'll cause your 8800 gtx mosfet to eject itself violently if you botch a voltmod
Wym?
gigabyte boards detect that I tried to plug a usb c into a usb a cuz I wasn't paying attention & cut power immediatley
How many ram?
Ah yes the hardware level backdoor
Similar to
very nice
I only have 1600w G+ so mosfets only go a couple inches probably
lol how many sticks ya
Superflower 1600 Ti was on sale + a 3 pack of the new style fans for 300 something recently
btw after going on & on about using 2080ti instead of 3070 in my son's build, I had to use the 3070 cuz stupid 2080ti has one of those 3 slot things despite a waterblock that makes it a single slot
the G+ hasn't disappointed yet afik
Your kid has a better gpu than I did in 2018
I have a 1300w EVGA uh something & a 1200w Thermaltake ToughPower Grand thing plus like 2 850s & a 750w
I like to buy a bunch of crap instead of just getting the good thing once lol
lol in 2018 wow
Hey, I had a ti 4600 around then
in 2018 I had uh whatever was in my cell phone
cuz I didn't really care lol
I can't remember what the endless pit to throw money in back then was tho
actually it was probably going out drinking & clowning
sounds about right ya
lol I read 4060ti for some reaosn
are you breaking your 2024 hwbot silence?
Soon
too bad tc starts before release
2
So I just saw a video and it said that the ram only work if it’s in the a2 spot
But I have 2 ram
Or it doesn’t work on the b2 slot
ok so does that mean I have to use the first two
Ok let me check it out rq
Do higher end gpus have better encoders or are encoders something that are only buffed each generation
whats a good dashcam brand/model

Unless a new one came out that is actually good that I don't know about
But basically its a bunch of chinese manufacturers using the same technology in their products
Just a bunch of the same stuff
yeah i saw that linus video
yes to generational improvements
segmentation might affect video encoders too, but it's usually
not noticeable
unless it's like the difference of codecs supported

was there a TC/CC 8800gts section or smth?
hI
Microcenter increased the price on the cpu mobo and ram bundle i got last month lol
Looks like i got it at a good time
Wow there are some really, REALLY salty Intel owners in YT comments claiming Wendell and Steve are "AMD shills" and "lie to fanboy for Team Poor"
One guy goes like "My 13700K beats the 7800X3D while drawing less power than that!"
hi
I'll have what they smoke
I'd rather not we already have enough idiots
Wccftech ah bozos
wait they're biased?
haven't really followed them before but it'd be really funny
is it UB-tier?
lmao
NGL this guy must have a mfing industrial chiller cooling his room
Either that or he actually tweaked the chip
Tbh it doesn't make sense for any CPU to go over 200w+
For home use that is
You're gonna have a boiling hot room though
Heat issue?
It's not a question of if, it's a question of where
tbf diy minisplit installation is actually fairly easy
am I the only one smelling cap?
I think someone's unable to read charts
Someone speaks some reason, and then the fanboy is back
My disappointment grows by the second
Aaaaaand then he goes like "Well you have to pair it with a 6600XT"
He doesn’t know that I’ll be basically abusing the computer
@sweet phoenix Do you know of any ATX cases similar to the Tower 300?
ones where the case has a small desk footprint cuz the GPU is vertical in it
Why would you tho
14900K+4090 puts so much heat into the room it's not even funny
40 series is rlly efficient
14900K is gonna be like 100w, that’s nothing
Unless you’re running cinebench all day, that’s only place where it’s 250+
350 watts in games for the 4090
Since you're gonna be playing 4k more than likely
Even at 1440p you're above 300 watts
400-500 watts will make a lot of heat
I mostly use my PC lightly (not even utilizing the GPU)
And there's still enough heat output to raise my room temp by over 4 degrees C
So 3080 ti power draw. Not bad at all
what
7800x3d pulls around 80w gaming
Eh not really
my 13600k chills around 120-150
In games?
13900k will be pulling more than 100w i gaurantee you that
7800X3D is 88 watts max power draw under full load
4090 is efficient, that doesn't mean it doesn't output a lot of heat
350-400 watts of power do be creating at least 200 watts of heat
my 13600k+3060 ti rig was enough to heat up my small room after a 2 hour gaming session
in a p360a under a 280mm aio
^^^^
.
Yeah no I'm not buying that
that's average, not peak
14900K OC is 100% drawing more
im not saying not to do it
5.5 isn't even a big OC
however i would very much consider a 7950x3d over 14900k
average, 170w
buy me 14900ks and ill test for you
On one or 2 cores
are you set on a 14900k?
uwu
Not all core
7950x3d runs at 1/3 the wattage, has better gaming perf most of the time, and is on an upgradable platform
also there's the degradation issues with intels high end at the moment
Maybe some day lol but I don’t wanna buy one with all the instability issues
Don’t wanna buy one rn
7950x3d.
I mean excuse me?
8950x comes out next month i believe
I think it’s cause of the io die
i really hope intel makes something to combat x3d cpus
Getting a Stream Deck for 75$ 😄
They moved it on 12th or 13th gen
it would make gaming builds much nicer, and potentially compel amd to release a cheaper x3d cpu earlier next gen
it's because intel wanted to be competitive with amd, so allowed unlocked power limits by default
14900K is the closest they have to an x3d
But yeah 14900K eats over double the power in lightly threaded loads like games as the 7800X3D does at full load
And the 7800X3D is outright faster than a 14900K in gaming
It’s like 4% difference at 1080p with a 4090 so
I just can't see any reason to get a 900 SKU Intel chip rn
that's not what i mean
Overclock the ram and you got a faster cpu
imagine playing 1080p with a 4090
i mean like a 7800x3d
Dream setup
like, go up to 1440p nerd
1080p 240hz with 4090
At what, double or over double the price, using over twice the power and getting less frames?
a cheaper, non flagship cpu that destroys in gaming
What a waste
7600x3d would have done amazingly, i don't know why it wasn't a thing
It would run triple a games at 240 fps though
Not just esports
560Hz esports monitors exist
oled.
Don’t need 4090 for that
OLED 360hz over 540hz anything else any day of the week
2070 or 2060 super and it’ll run 600 fps in val/ ow etc
But at that point you have all your PCs, gear and stuff sponsored anyway so who cares?
the downsides of tn/ips outweigh the extra refresh
Mini LED 1440p has been good to me
an oled will give a better experience for first person shooters
Really happy with this monitor actually
lower response time, very smooth
It's not a GOOD use case, just one that could actually exist
Most esports pros ironically don’t have 360hz and 4090s on their personal setups
I'm making the point that it'd be so hyperspecialized it's almost stupid
They have like 2070s and 240hz monitors
there's literally no reason to buy a super high refresh rate monitor over OLED atp
like, whatsoever
Aaaaaanyway
Too expensive tbh.
They’re more expensive
my point about the 14900K stands
For oled
It's pretty much pointless for gaming
a 240hz oled is $600
Agreed
Now if you're a content creator who makes things and you can for some reason only have a single PC?
Sure, there is an argument, but if you can buy 4090s and 14900Ks you can get 2 PCs
14700k or 7800x3d would be all you need for gaming. Anything more is just poor returns
250 for 1440? How
i was talking about 360+
xv272u
actually now that i think about it that monitor has some issues
I got a 180hz Mini LED 1440p for like 270$.
yeah there's a few aroud that price
Asus released a new 1440p IPS with a good price tag
miniled is a good choice
That’s 170hz tho
even has variable overdrive
is the panel good
xv2727u?
But it brought what it needed
i just wouldn't get it, i forgot but it has major issues

It says 170hz here idk https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/acer/nitro-xv272u-kvbmiiprzx
ah there's like 7 xv272u's
acer is stupid
I mean sure, it's not an HDR screen, and it's not outstanding in really any one perf metric
But the price is good, and the variable overdrive (so single overdrive mode experience) is definitely welcome
can we mention the phanteks xt pro ultra please
i don't feel like watching, what's the price?
dlel g2724d is $180 rn with a pretty solid panel https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vyqrxr/dell-g2724d-270-2560-x-1440-165-hz-monitor-g2724d
290 on Amazon rn, MSRP unknown to me
290 is pretty high, it's IPS right?
AOC Q27G3XMN 27" is the one I got
not mini LED?
Yes, IPS
yeah I'd pass until that comes down to 240 or under
it's apparently near the limit with what is possible on current IPS panels
the higher end of that only if it's a good panel, like the m27q
hm
i could see 240-260 if that's true
HUB said it's really good for money
people are paid to say things
it would have to be better than the m27q for over 260 to be justifiable
also speaking in terms of bang for your buck
that absolutely makes no sense (speaking about them, not you)
bang for your buck is good value, you can get a monitor like the dell one i linked above, or even a $160 asrock 1440p high refresh rn, those would be bang for your buck
Sometimes a lower refresh can be better than higher refresh, like some 240hs are better than 360hs monitors
so it's good, but nothing special honestly
100%, there's many things that affect a monitors quality
It brings expected perf with single overdrive mode experience
panel type, panel quality, firmware, build quality, quality control
that's really the selling point, the variable overdrive, and it being tuned really well out of the box
I'm just saying what it is
I dunno what MSRP is supposed to be
@sweet phoenix In fact I can get one for less than the M27Q
(though that might be the Gigabyte being overpriced here, not the Asus being good value)
@devout forum I bought that monitor… don’t
It does not handle 180hz at all
I have to use it on 165hz or it has lines across the screen
Yeah flickering lines at 180hz
RMA
Asus RMA lol
Yeah…
I’m good. I already got my money refunded from Amazon so it was basically a free monitor
if i turn hot swap off on my ssd
I mean hey that's nice
At least Amazon made things right for you
Yep they usually do
I mean it’s a decent monitor just kinda cheap all around
And don’t expect 180hz for long. It held 180hz for a week then started flickering
Prob but 180hz is technically an overclock
They don’t market it as that but it is what it is. They only say that the screen is overclocked for 180hz in 1 spot of the listing if I remember
Also I got it for 230 on sale I think
i mean... you'd expect a 13700k to beat a 7800x3d in multicore
and yes the 13700k does have better idle power than ryzen by far
nothing he said is wrong, he's just coping by cherrypicking scenarios where the 13700k does win

well
except for the 10 minute boot times part
that's fixed now
10 minute boot times? that'd be crazy
it was a reality when am5 first launched
And COMPLETELY ignoring that 99% of people buying a 13700K buy it for gaming, in which the 7800X3D will handily shred it
top of the line 7950x systems would boot slower than a 10 year old system with a hard drive lol
yes
also yes
But yeah
that's why it got fixed by later agesa versions
Dude is technically true, but clearly shows being out of touch or outright fanboying
I personally don't really gaf about 3DMark scores
I care much more for framerates and turn times
i do really like the low idle power of intel chips though
Can always cherry pick data to prove your point
Yeah I will concede on that
that is something more valid than benchmark scores
Idle/light load power consumption is pretty big
my 7600X do spit out a good amount of heat even when lightly using it
it's like 20-25 watts iirc
lemme check
oh that's a nice improvement
assuming you are running some kind of xmp/ram oc with fixed vsoc?
i got 20w idle power with jedec ddr4-2666
This is full load
35 idle power with manual oc ddr4-3800
which I mean at FULL LOAD 88 watts is ridiculous
yeah i remember seeing even less than that in p95 since i used CO
70 watts in prime95
chilling at 70C under $30 air cooler lol
meanwhile my 13700K
29w is the idle from what I see on google
i'm fairly certain it would want 500W at stock if i had the cooling for it
but i can't cool it with my galahad 360 and contact frame
so it thermal throttles a ton at stock to maintain the 350W that i can cool
Its funny how AMD has great load power but terrible idle power
yeah
you can get the intel chips to have good load efficiency too
but stock behavior is ridiculous
It's got to do with architectural stuff on AMD
IO die needs a set amount regardless of load
but yeah 30w idle is
Not amazing
88 watt full load is incredible though
yeah having to run fclk at 2200mhz or whatever all the time doesn't help
intel chip pretty much shuts down at idle lol
on a debloated system ive even see 1.6W idle
it's beautiful
zen 3+
well
your laptop is monolithic
so you don't have the same problem
the problem is only on desktop chips
At the end of the day, I'd argue that full load power draw is probably more important than idle power draw
a laptop cpu that idled at 20w+ would be dead on arrival lol
meh it really depends
I mean yeah low idle draw is great
But if you have a 200+ watt draw under full load, you'll feel that
if you use your pc for mostly work and some gaming the intel chip could very well be more efficient overall
I for one am curious what the next gen AMD will come out with
the 8700X is ALLEGEDLY gonna be faster in gaming than a 7800X3D
which would be wild
Only if you're a power user most likely. Lot of prosumers who user their CPU prolly still have too much idle time for that to be true, let alone standard consumers.
it all depends on use case and specific values how it averages out
like i'm usually using my pc for low intensity work 12 hours a day and gaming 3 hours a day
on my 13700K:
low intensity work = 4W * 12 hours = 48 watt hours
gaming = 120W * 3 hours = 360 watt hours
total consumption for the day = 408 watt hours
on my old 5800X:
low intensity work = 35W * 12 hours = 420 watt hours
gaming = 80W * 3 hours = 240 watt hours
total consumption for the day = 660 watt hours
so my 13700K is a LOT more efficient than my 5800X was for my typical day
just depends on your use case
also the 13700K gaming load is nowhere near synthetic multicore load
i daily slightly below stock voltage with a 5.5/4.9/4.3 oc and HT off
idle matters huh
My stock 13600k that I should really get to UVing at least is like 70w - 85w gaming.
my 7600X system does 45-50 watts on CPU watching Youtube and typing on Discord
idle very much matters
if idle is most of your day
if you're doing nothing but gaming on your pc yeah ryzen is going to win
I mean yeah it's not the greatest, and it's likely more than my old laptop, but that's a very different thing
45-50 watts for youtube and discord is lowkey kind of horrifying lol
7600X is also kind of a trap methinks
it's on a dogwater mobo, completely unoptimized
Pretty sure Florida banned Dell/Alienware on certain computers/monitors a year ago due to bad idles
For some reason I can't undervolt it
i can see it lol
You get my point then
ryzen master is malware 🗣️
I mean mobo outright doesn't undervolt
and CO
IDK if the mobo-side CO does anything
Fun fact, ctrl+z goes back to previous message. You can then quickly remove funni word and send again
It don't really seem to
Correction:
Ryzen Master just crashes my PC
And mobo menus don't seem to do anything
you'd have to run prime95 and compare effective clocks to see if CO is doing anything
CO doesn't lower the power target
just shifts the V/F curve
CO usually just targets higher performance at the same power target
instead of same performance at lower power target
though if you have an x3d chip you'll see a big difference in power draw with CO cause it's not trying to clock any higher
Can't update bios either
what happens when you try to update bios
AMD mobo not being able to update bios is 💀
considering how... amazing... their early bios versions tend to be
Im hoping AMDs move away from Agesa (they are still doing that right?) is going to improve things
Bios update outright hardlocks the entire system on a black screen until I reset CMOS
As soon as it begins updating
idk i think they just dont have the resources dedicated to software/firmware to have polished releases
wtf
Like 2 seconds after bringing up the progress bar
System shuts down, boots to black screen, stays there
Is that through OS updater or BIOS updater
CPU fan spins, RBG on it lights up but it never gets any further
when was the last time amd released a polished product
Through Mobo BIOS updater
Bios flashback via rear button eternally blinks as if in progress, over an hour never finished
Mobo is definitely fricked
maybe 6900xt? i don't remember if 6900xt had any issues other than supply
I have no idea in what way but it is
On first reboot, did you see it POST through mobo LED debug stuff?
my 6600 used to use like 3-5w idle but now it uses like 20
I assume this was also through USB stick. Was stick formatted to whatever (FAT32?), firmware in USB stick unzipped, with correct naming, etc? Basically whatever the instructions were in manual.
No debug light present
Yes, did it according to manual
It's an Asus Prime B650M-A Wifi II (aka the Benchmark Edition™️)
I hate it with a burning passion, but it is what it is
Saying goodbye to my old card today. Selling it to someone who needs it more.
For now I'll have to just deal with it
Why does the box design have a dent
Who decided that adding a dent to a box would be goof
Good
Ask EVGA
Why is aSUS' FAQ not filtered by CPU company?... Why am I getting XTU software stuf for AMD?...
Asus more like a bad ahahahaha........
Any person who thinks this is okay for a mobo to be sold as should be sacked wtf
It's absolutely bottom-tier trash
But this was what I can afford at the time
And I didn't know it was bottom-tier trash
Basically I got scammed by the shop building it for me
On several things
Have you tried various BIOS versions?
What about using flashback instead of the BIOS updater?
Well only other thing I can think of, use a different USB drive
Asus prolly has like 2 - 3 years of warranty
yo what, texture compression that's easy to use
devs shouldn't have an excuse anymore
Holy crap he's back
His argument is "7800X3D is irrelevant if you cap your framerate and save 150 watts on the GPU"
TF kinda crack is this guy smoking???
I mean if you cap your framerate to save power
Then the 7800X3D would make it even better cuz it ALREADY consumes less power than the 14700K in games
This guy is a sockful of BS rofl
Hmmm
Now we know he's a crock of BS
It's honestly almost comical
Dude is cherrypicking so hard he has to start lying to not lose an online argument defending Intel's POS business practices and (arguably) products with 14th "gen"
Isnt it just for downloads tho
And that 70% figure is probably the most it can do. Even 50% is still huge but I doubt it is 70% all the time
It's kinda sad
Dude the real world benchmarks man
How do i fix this, every time i connect my second monitor discords sound only goes through the second monitors speakers
no matter which output i use
Why yes I do mark all my benches
i unplug the second monitor and it goes back to headphones
It was funny that he defended the 14700K as "flawless product" and then ignoring the 7800X3D beats in in games because "IDC about games, power draw and framerates are irrelevant, only 3DMark scores matter!"
@grand kernel Apolgies for the ping, but I need some assistance
Quite the ramble, but I figured I should ask this just to be safe. My primary computer that I use for games (i9-11900K, EVGA RTX 3070 TI, 32 gb DDR4 CL 18-3600, 700 W PSU) has been shutting off and on very intermittently and sporadically during the occasional time that I use games. My computer will also occasionally blue screen on the windows loading screen and my extraneous drive (Gaming SSD), will not be detected unless I specifically shut it down and turn it back on. This has been happening for the past two weeks, but it is only now that I have noticed a red flashing light located on both PCIE Power slots (On the Physical Graphics Card itself). It should be mentioned that these lights flash at random and are never still. My presumption is that this could be a power supply issue due to either low wattage or just normal PSU degradation over time, but I would like a more seasoned opinion on this as I was under the impression that 700 Watts was sufficient enough for a rig of this caliber. Any assistance is significantly appreciated!
Which output is selected in discord?
May want to check the voltage at the 12v rails on gpuz, and you can try using occt's power test or furmark for a question of capacity, and watch if the 12v rail droops beyond spec.
Happy you mentioned that, I actually just finished OCCT
in other notes my pd radar got one chaffed
Can I paste the results here?
Do you mind if I friend you and send you the results? I dont think I have pic perms here
What’s the best crypto wallwt
I wonder, can you send it in #build-pics or #links-and-selfpromotion ? If not, sure
Yeah, I attempted that immediately after I mentioned my completion of the OCCT run and it still didnt work
You can disable the monitor audio output in the sound control panel

Cow tools
Yes, cc22, sli 3 scores 8000 series
320w
😭
ah
Holy ☠️

Architecture
Ghz between different gens means almost nothing

Mmmmh
I kinda expect it but same time they could just throw that out the window
I may have scored a pc by just being a helpful guy

gamer meld: AMD'S NEW CPU DRAWS HOW MUCH POWER????
SHOCKEDTHUMBNAIL.PNG
lol
crazy jump
not into politics but i guess ill check
I avoid politics like the plague nowadays but someone tried to shoot him apparently
DAYUM WTF!?!?!?
The first attempt
2nd I think
well in lighter news, I'm almost done with this 13600K system
doesn't this also means that he wins by default now
because they just gave him so much more ammunition
Leave it to Pennsylvania @sinful blade
Twins fr
eh aside from his ear, I don't think this will hurt him but I dunno. I'm trying to avoid any political aspects of this lol
I had to go with 3070 because the 2080ti is three slot & wouldn't fit in the vertical GPU thing
iirc they should be neck and neck unless the game really eats up vram
forget vram we need vvram (a new ai assisted cloud base ram subscription model)

Virtual Vram
now the hard part... can I stabilize 8000c36 on this computer
you use 13600K right?
I feel like I always get which CPU you're on wrong lol
heckin 5000D
I had to dremel the stupid plastic thing in the front again to make the fans+rad fit
yes im also using the 13600k
5.4GHZ P-core
4.3GHZ E-core
4.8GHZ Ring
heck okay
yessir
I wonder if I can get 1-2 cores to do 57-58x
possibly
I'm not loving my odds off getting 8000c36 running but we'll see ig
I don't love the GPU to memory block pipe but I'll live ig
I also need to get two rgb 140s out of storage for the top fans
the 3070 cleaned up nice at least
They did but missed
I only know about it because a phrasing I tend to use got temporarily blocked on the Xbox Discord lol
specifically involving the word "shot".
even if you're talking about photography? lol
ah right
Theyre temp blocking certain keywords to keep people from bringing up unwanted topics there
I happened to be an unitended casualty so to speak of the word being blocked
ASUS is launching a third version of its RTX 4060 DUAL graphics card Graphics card companies rarely do two revisions for one product; these are typically reserved for cards that require board changes or when the cooling is inadequate. So changes that are simply cosmetic, especially for one product series, are not very common. Thus, […]
v1 was good

why
RTX 4060 with 16 GB VRAM would be good
otherwise Nvidia can heck off
or at least something more than 8
how many 4060s are there?
8 4060s cuz 8GB
nvidia approves
have you run ycruncher VT3 with CPU at stonk settings? I just throttled & I'm a little concerned lol
nah i ran it overclocked when i tuned my ram
never throttled iirc
hmm I wonder if waterblock contact is bad
Yeah but t-shirt design is already online lol that's very impressive speed
They never put option 3 of derailing the train
pretty simple to do imo
probably took like 1-2 mins to make
BIOSHOCK 4 early build leak
wth 7% remaining reserve storage on this MP33 1TB
how have I broken two NVMes in the last like 3 months wth
bro is the nvme reckoner
ah yes, lemme grab the derailer out of my pocket that i keep stored in my pocket
tardis pockets
is there anyone on who's familiar with tv issues?
I'm trying to diy fix a roku tv i inherited with parts from a second identical tv, but i need someone who can translate the symptoms (changes when i switch out parts)
?ask
Don't ask to ask, just ask!
Sell it and buy any other TV then roku or lg
valid.
i can't think of anyone who would want such a tv (hence fixing it myself) lol🤣
Hehe
I'll rephrase then; it was only whitescreening with audio when plugged in at first, then i changed the power supply board and no change, then i changed the main board and it was blackscreening with no backlight, so i switched the main board back, now i switched the tcon and it's blackscreening with backlight and audio. my main question i suppose, is: was it closer to a fix whitescreening with backlight and audio or blackscreening with backlight and audio, and what should i check next?
Imagine 1000 bitcoin
I'm using it for a ttrpg table, so i don't really need the roku os, just hdmi connectivity, but from my research into fixing it outright for that purpose i was basically just hearing that it's nigh on impossible to convert it to a simple "monitor" which floors me because dumbing down an electrical system should be simple, but they make them so you have to buy a new one every couple of years instead..
