just not razers im done with razer products been using it since the beginning
yea i checked it but im not a fan of mini kbs so can u guys suggest more kbs hehe
Like, you want a full keeb that's also a few thousand dollars or do you want something more reasonably priced
yea but i might get the jade ll
If you literally have no limit on budget, he-1 is hands down best headphones in the world
Nothing can really compare
a good starter into xlr, it will be a bit noisier than something like a scarlett but still solid if you use proper techique and no auto gain settings in apps like discord id say
love this but i might get a jade ll instead, love the mic also might get it thanks alot bruh
how mch is he-1?
59,000 usd
might get lct 940 but still undecided to what kb should i get
oh godamn ill just buy another bitcoin 🤣
love it tho but i mean i dont have budget limit but i cant rly spend money unwisely might stick with Jade ll what do you think?
i think it is around 2k dollars plus
oh i also need new speaker
Not too familiar with high end dacs, but you'll want a dac and an amp for smth that'll set you back 2k usd
And prob hifiman arya instead of jade ii, then grab like a rebelamp, dunno about a endgame dac though
aight appreciate it man thanks alot brother
or maybe go topping stack
tube amp also an option
keyboards are weird, most mech keebs aren't full sized
What do you mean by proper technique?
for voice around 3-5in away, I usually point in corner of mouth to mitigate popping. setting gain correctly etc.
learning curve
or he just doesnt like 40s
i liked my mercutio, was a fun project and the result was nice
once u get used to the layers and figure out a system that works for u its fun and pretty efficient
personally i prefer bigger boards so it wasnt really for me, i bought it originally just for practice soldering (dont do that, get a practice65 from ck instead), but ended up liking it so much i used it for a while
smallice?
not the most high end thing ever but still
i dont want to ping u again wolfgang but no theres a ton of super cheap 40s, in fact, thats sort of where they lie the most, like at the sub 100 price point (theres also things like this https://pearlboards.net/collections/pearl-40/products/pearl-40?variant=40084713504900 )
Status: Active Build Guide: Coming Soon Pearl is a classic, premium, USA produced 45% top-burger mounted wireless keyboard with a 9° typing angle and a Stainless Steel weight. Every order will come with an EVA carrying case for safety of your Pearl and travel convenience. Pearl has two dedicated rear USB 2.0 ports an
oh these kbs are cheap i like the fc900r black, very simple design
thanks alot brother
theres one being ran in china rn
thats alu
prob will wait for that
china gb?
Probably not the right place to ask but I didn't see a better channel so I'll ask here
Can someone help me find a good USB wifi card?
I bought a new mobo but now my wifi card doesn't fit into the pcie slot
It's a TP-Link WiFi 6 AX3000 PCIe WiFi Card (Archer TX3000E) advertised to go 2400mbps
So now I'm looking for a reliable USB wifi adapter with similar power if someone could help that'd be great
Or a pcie to x adapter (idk what it could be converted into)
what motherboard
aorus pro?
does your gpu cover the bottom slot?
you can probably return it
its not a great price to perf board anyway
I mean yea but that'll take a long time and I need my pc up and running like yesterday
Reason: Bad word usage
College stuff
without wifi its gonna take a few days as well unless you use mobile data
where did u order it from
Sad to say I got a ryzen 5 3600 but I'm upgrading very soon
nothing wrong with a 3600 lol
but yeah lemme look at a board
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089FT8G44
@small jungle get this
Quick Question what's the better brand name keyboard to buy Hyper X Or Corsair for gaming?
neither
He asked about keyboard
Neither, “gaming” is a marketing term used to sell inferior products. Assuming you want a prebuilt, get a Leopold
lol
Lol all good
i dont think this is a bad choice if your budget is tight, still i like intel more than amd cpus
got leopold after you recommended it will receive in a couple days
Happy to hear it, hope you like it; what switches did u get?
You don’t have to
You don’t have to do it in one sitting
It’s just easier to keep consistent I’d say
Welp
Idrk what to say lmfao
Have fun
What’s a excellent keyboard with RGB included?
i found a decently priced steel series keyboard
send them to me and ill do it and then send them back, just pay for shipping
alright so
i'm looking for a set of computer speakers
but i dont even care what they are, just something functional in case a family member uses my PC
i got my headset already that i will always use if i'm using the PC
tl;dr: need a decent set of speakers that's generic but doesn't sound like mud
do you have a budget
oh eh about 75 bucks
not lookin for something too crazy
just something for probably my mom to turn on and be like "oh yea there's sound" lol
maybe r980s?
anyone have a good headset that is wireless and they like it
with a mic attatched to the headset (bc if i dont explain it like that people would be confused for an odd reason)
https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-3?color=black&country=US&gclid=Cj0KCQiAmeKQBhDvARIsAHJ7mF5W-NjsSI0A7Lr_DsDnT4hlxSK-C_oJQsnfpzhhuh0kp--6RGwpXugaAoUDEALw_wcB&mpa=1 is this wireless? i searched it up but it looks like it uses a cord so m very confused
they are not
Aiaiai + wireless modmic op
I am searching for a collectible item online and I see a reasonable offer on newegg, however, I thought I'd get a second opinion on this because although it's not necessarily too good to be true the competitive item listings are much higher than this listing. This may be far too much work to detail this and ask for advice over what looks to be an obvious scam but it's tempting! Here's the details in
no order of reassuring or suspicious sign
I snipped the seller page but please don't scoop my item!
I wanted to ask if you folks would be weary of a false listing or scam as I've seen many ugly stories involving newegg marketplace sellers.
**1. **it's a now-discontinued special edition licensed component, there are less than 5 of the item on newegg and just as scarce on other platforms like google shopping. **
2. The price is $50 above MSRP(totally acceptable for me as buyer)
3. chinese marketplace seller
**4. **no reviews for the seller page
**5. **the seller has a fully detailed refund process, responsiblity of refunds and RMA process is on newegg according to the page and agreement.
**6. **seller offers afterpay service and zip pay service
7. the other items being sold by the marketplace seller is a mish-mosh of other peripherals that you'd find in mass-department stores with some niche items such as various logitech m/kb combos(those cheap-o grey or pink coloured, retro round buttoned, plasticy combos you'd find in the tablets isle of Target etc.) as well as tablet folios and some LG MX combos and weird couch-laptop keyboards with strange unique features or buttons.
8. probably the most damning of all is I can't seem to find an item with a review offered by this marketplace seller fullstop.
Link to seller
https://www.newegg.com/Seller-Store/XUNLIAN/about?position=return
Personally I avoid marketplace sellers like this. There's several scams they can pull from manipulating tracking info so it appears to be delivered to sending the wrong item and deny deny deny.
Any recommendations on a cheap webcam? I just need something to use once a week for an hour.
iriun webcam app on ur phone and pc
@rancid oxide I think this is thet one I have, I just can't find it right now
sorry for late/ping but just realized there wasnt an explanation unless i skimmed over it but why not a tofu? looking at the qk65 right now and waiting for the group buy buy i like the color options of the tofu
just certain issues with the tofu or just expensive for what it is?
No worries
So think of the tofu as an achievement
Like u do it in a game and then that’s it your done
The tofu was kind of created to say super cheap alu is possible
However the issue is, super cheap alu when done terribly wrong sucks
So it’s pingy, sounds terrible, is expensive compared to better options at lower price points, and is tray mounted
There’s more issues but yeah
Btw, I’m not recommending the qk65, I’m recommending you look into once boards are in the hands of reviewers and stuff
Board could turn out to be a total poop show
alrighty. thanks for the info. sadge that its like that because there was a color option i liked. time to save up for better keybaord then later down the line
Also it may be hard to get one, just do to wuques nature
What was the color u wanted?
Pink?
forgot the actual name it was called but it was like a rose gold almost, kinda
You can always get a board cerakoted or re ano’d
Granted it’s not cheap but
And I’m sure whatever color you want a board exists for that
now i cant find the color of it on kbd's website
It might be on a separate listing
Kbdfans does that sometimes where like 1 color is on a separate like page
it was the tofu60 that had the color i was looking at, i was trying to find the color for the tofu65
champagne gold its called
Hm
I’m not really sure
If you really want it, go for it, I’m sure u could put enough foam or poly fill or something to fix it up
And it’s your board so if u like it then who cares
But yeah
ye was just wondering about it and everything. still new to keyboards and just browsing around. i want something nice but dont want to drop some money and it not be something i actually wanted or it sound not good
You can just recolor a bakeneko
But I have no clue on that kind of pricing I just know it’s not like cheap
It’s not like hundreds but
ye, still looking around and considering everything. thanks for the help and info
lmao friend got a dge in and said it sucked but apparently gon put foam in it and made it super stiff
yellow dge pcb so nice
spongebob
dunno
@neon root
@lost geyser 3300
I mean tough that he doesn’t like it
Dang
Idk why I thought the plume was like 2k
Might cop one I need a 65%
U thibk oblivion would go with a red plume? No right
he likes it now without the foam but even when it was bad feeling he was keeping it cause he likes dge
Actually I don’t have a 1.75u right shift for oblivion so it doesn’t matter
Ah I see
he said the vints it is built with are some of the best he's used
Sick
I always really like boards like that
I don’t even know what I mean, like maybe just novelty board that have a connection to the owner?
Not necessary like “best in slot” lol
I want to try some nos vint stuff
vints overrated
lowkey not a fan of broken in mx stuff
i like the cherry scratch, without it it feels like every other basic switch
I guess
I think a lot of the appeal of mx blacks is their sound profile
And scratchiness kind of takes away from that pure sound profile and changes it
Vints definitely are overrated
I don’t know how to describe it but it’s like a want to be different or like something rare and uncommon
Unpopular opinion—I’ve never use an alp switch in my life—I feel like that may be true about some alps too but I hear some are just that good so
clout
good alps are expensive but the browns and blues(? maybe pine whites or something) i tried were nice
vint blacks are a 💪 💰 switch
What’s the better keyboard steelseries apex pro or razer huntsman v2 analog ?
Apex pro is meh but with an interesting gimmick, more worthwhile than huntsman that's just bad
should i get this pc https://pcpartpicker.com/list/cfsL2m or should i wait for the new graphics card to come out and i play fornite, cod warzone, and red dead redemption 2
Wrong chat
I think cl18 is bad, I’m not sure tho I stopped caring about computers a while ago
Also I’m pretty sure the 5000d is massive, maybe I’m wrong!
its a bit bigger than the 4000d and would rather just get that instead to save some money
5000D would be good if you want to cool with a custom loop. Otherwise for the build, the 4000D case is perfect. FYI, the Arctic 360 cooler is a "tight" fit. I'd suggest putting that into your case first as it was a major pain. It will only fit in there with the fans on the front of the radiator and you have to put the fans in then the radiator.
Took me a solid Hour to Hour and a half to get mine in the 4000D case.
@west hornet got m track solo and xm8500, anything I should do right away when setting up?
Find good position for it, set gain for your voice, install whatever drivers it uses or maybe asio4all if it uses that
is the playmax surface x2 any good?
greg mat so lit
anybody here know about the HP vh240a monitor? i'm buying one off offerup for $35 and retail for it is $200ish. seller is saying it works well and they don't use it anymore because they stopped WFH. i'm reading a bunch of reviews online saying it has a burn it and that it died over some time blah blah blah and i'm getting a little worried to pick it up lol. thoughts?
Just have them test it when you pick it up
online reviews are usually negative
You typically don't think of writing a review unless the product is bad
any software you'd recommend for messing with gain? Got MPC beats from the m audio website, but that seems to be for creation more than adjusting settings
True gain can only be controlled by the physical dial, if you want to do further tuning you can try voicemeeter banana, to play with digital levels, maybe some eq and compression
Is it normal that I have to turn the dial all the way up for it to be at a reasonable sound?
Ye its a dynamic so it requires a bit more. Most dynamics I use I can get away with it at about 3:00-3:30 if you think of it like a clock. I keep about 3-5in away from mouth
You just dont want it clipping
hm
Some people also use things like fetheads or cloudlifters to raise it with minimal added noise and than you don’t have to turn gain so high but those are pretty pricey imo
Does extra gain via software beyond turning up the dial compromise sound quality?
If there is digital clipping it can deteriorate quality yes. And that is why many headset mics suck, they probably just use a hard limiter or something. So say for a studio recording or broadcast I would set my gain so the highest peak hits about -6dBFS than raise it in software and add a light compressor to smooth out the peaks and keep level relatively even
At least for podcast voiceover style, for instrument mic ups i would not because dynamic contrast is important in music
hm, so for using mic for voice, the goal is to flatten it out?
You want it so the peaks(loudest parts) aren’t so loud that you digitally clip or deafen your audience
I may be able to make an example somewhere in a bit but I don’t use live software like voicemeeter
Should that be based off when the interface clips it or software?
Like adjusting gain based off when the software clips it or yelling into the mic until it starts clipping, and adjusting based off that?
One sec
@daring zenith this is quieter mic but gets the idea across https://youtu.be/6b-8FtIxjF8?t=88
Today I walkthrough setting up your Shure SM7b from attaching it to the stand, proper microphone technique, how to connect it to your interface and set your gain, which windscreen you should use, and when you should use the switches on the rear of the microphone.

alright
I'm having a bit of a weird thing where the dial between 9 and 10 has some dramatic differences
lol
But like if I nudge it towards 9 a bit, my speaking voice is around -28db
but then if I nudge it towards 10, it jumps to like -6db
some interfaces I've used when you get near the last few nicks on the gain it can have some pretty big difference in gain and noise
how far do you have it
I'd say 9.5
try to move a bit closer, say 6in
This is getting me -6 to -8 dba
This is getting me around -20dba
I'm barely touching it
usually for you try to get about -20 - -18 if you have option of adding effects like in obs or something, if you need raw than higher
Could I use voicemeter to add gain?
if i could add effects this is something id do
Or is something better for doing that?
yes I believe
I've actually never used voicemeeter I just go raw because i am always about 3in from mic and speak pretty loud, but it is the most used
hm okay
Are there anything I can do with other software and messing with hardware to get rid of white noise or should I use rtx voice?
hold i am trying voicemeeter now xD
ye id try lower the gain to 9 or 8 even maybe and see how it is with a voicemeeter gain or something
Hm okay
Btw any way to disable the playback in voicemeter?
alright
Needing to get a new mouse and looking at an RGB gaming mouse, thought's on these two or other suggestions?https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Lightspeed-PowerPlay-Compatible-Lightsync/dp/B07L4BM851/ref=asc_df_B07L4BM851/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=343933741678&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3734387775851031020&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033981&hvtargid=pla-https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ROG-Wireless-Magnetic-Programmable/dp/B09726KT4R/ref=asc_df_B09726KT4R/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532535399205&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14545153371075532055&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033981&hvtargid=pla-1341979747801&th=1756017752214&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=71915334951&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=343933741678&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3734387775851031020&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033981&hvtargid=pla-756017752214
refer to the pinned messages to determine your grip type
and whether you play fps shooters and what not can help determine if you need a lighter mouse or not
Thank you, was looking for mainly using on arpg's don't play many shooters .
i joined the qwertykeys discord just to see any updates and follow along with their drop on the qk65 and today is launch day and all the reviews swarmed in, lol
How’d it go
in terms of buying a qk65, not well because i had work today so i completely missed the drop, lol. would have to wait for their next drop in april and may but that at least gives me time to look at reviews and stuff and see if they make any changes/updates to the keyboard by then
the drop was at 3pm pst and i got out of work at 3:30pm
think for now though ill get a kbd67 lite when i get my next check
I wouldn’t
Bakeneko is better imo
Unless you like the sound created by the kbd67l
You only have to listen to one sound test to get an idea
But yeah the qk definitely looks interesting
Owning multiple entry level boards is wack
is that the owlabs board
the qk65, ye
i know this is out of left field with pricing compared to what ive been asking question about, but what are youre guys's opinions on the d65 from kbdfans?
Owlabs sister company, but yeah
Not exceptional, very sub par or par. Gaskets don’t do much, bit outdated. Watch jymv’s review on it 👍
lol, i just finished watching that video before you pinged me
ye, looks nice but didnt seem good for the price point
Yeah
Nothing… I guess defining about it?
Nothing done extremely well—or even well in general (Altho I do like the design to a degree)
And I try not to ping my bad
nah it good, i dont mind pings
Just felt that was an important message for u to not see 3 days after u bought it
Lol
Gonna buy a plume65 when I get back home. I need a board to put some hps in
Altho it’s already build with black inks so if those sound and feel good maybe I’ll just keep them
Idk what caps tho, I was thinking yugo (red plume)
Idk why I thought plumes were like 2k
meanwhile i just want a keychron for myself
My DS4 absolutely refuses to connect to the PC I just built and I'm not sure why
I haven't been able to find any solutions online. Most of them seem to involve checking the device's status in Devices & Printers or Manage Game Controllers, but it doesn't even appear there when plugged via USB
I can't tell if it's my PC refusing to detect it or if it's the controller being weird
Reason: Duplicated text
Eh?
Here's your message back lol
Long messages run the risk of repeating words too many times and have a higher risk of being falsely flagged
I own the wired G502 and it's pretty great. Definitely a great buy, wireless or not. As for the Spatha... Last time I used one, the weight was odd and the buttons weren't as comfortable as the G502
Have you enabled the Steam driver for Playstation controllers btw?
Yeah, it still works outside steam
How do I do that?
Go into big picture mode, then into controller settings
Tick the box for PS config support
Oh yeah I did that one already while messing around in settings, still no luck
I'll check again for good measure
It'll interfere with other drivers, so if you're trying DS4Windows or something you need to disable it
I know that the charging port on the DS4 is godawful and loosens easily, making wired connections iffy
Yeah it gets really irritating
It's made worse by the fact that the chargers required for it has poor latches that easily break
No with Steam
I guess I just need to find some way to use Bluetooth, maybe via adapter or something
Yeah that's the best way but I personally don't like the latency of wireless. Only some people will notice though.
For my needs (PS2 and GBA games) it likely won't matter for me
ooo
its all black now
Thank you, was wondering how these two were, the Spatha was really for the wired or wireless with option when using it, but read someplace that the software was garbage. I always liked logi as I have had good experiences with their stuff, just mouse lagging now so new one and new keyboard.
I like the wheel on the g502, especially when I have to scroll down to the bottom of an agreement to agree and I just let it fly
Looking at getting a new gaming keyboard, looking at these 2/3 or any suggestions, looking to have one that's rgb and has some macro keys.https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-K100-Optical-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B08HR74WV4?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1
I get the Cosair might get this to go with it https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Nexus-Companion-Touch-Screen/dp/B08BNDHDCT
check out the keychron k4
Thank you
I like the Corsair K55
Would also recommend going for a Keychron hotswap board
I have a normal k8, it has worked pretty well
look at c2 and k4
Ahh the K4 has one
lol
I like the K4
Right now im using a G513 Silver Tactile
Fair
My k8 is to the side atm, got a kbd67 w u4t's atm
Very basic setup, but it works nicely
I just like tactile so I went u4t
I might try to do a sound test now that I have a decent mic, but kbd67 tends to sound the same
rip
Do any of you use a Hardwood table as a PC desk?
Foam didn't do anything for me, and was a bit messy, so I gave up and threw out the foam
It was pressing on the pcb and doing some funky stuff
I also have a C1, lubed the stabs, works fine
Yea I used the foam that came in the box
It prob just folded weirdly when I put it back together and I just gave up on it
?
bent them?
Nice, dude. I'm looking for a reasonably priced desk that can hold 2 27" monitors. Right now i only have 1 24"

I was thinking about this one
Bamboo is close enough to Hardwood, even though its a Grass
does anyone know what that pixel gif thing that you can get like irl
the one with keys or jus a square
Any of you know any good earbuds? Wired not wireless. My phone and the steam deck has a 3.5mm headphone jack so it's fine to not spend extra. my headset that i use on my PC is USB-c and a bit bulky. So not good for portable use.
I really liked the moondrop arias
oh im not really caring for wireless. Everything has an audio jack and I hate messing with bluetooth between several devices
Arias are wired
They have detachable wires
sweeeet
Which is nice because when the wire gets scuffed you can buy replacements off aliexpress
Square
april fool no more keyboards
I put a dongle ( like my mouse and keyboard) on a wired extender will they work? Extend the range of my devices ? Or do I need the dongles to be put directly into my USB pc to have them work ?
Thank you, see how thery work for the new mouse and keyboard
need some help deciding between two headphones
im looking for low latency wireless, both of these seem good and also hit the price point
or
the razer looks waaay better
Yes wireless is one of the main things im looking for
I have a standing desk and it's annoying to fidget with a cable
(I didn't know where to ask this question):
I have this telephone company called Iliad (Italian since I live there) and it's been a while since the connection sucks, I've got it for over one year and the problem occured in the last ~6-7months
I was one of the firs to try this connection, at first I got like 60mbps (↓↑) around the zone where I live but now it barely reaches 5mbps with a lot of instability
And the real question is:
Does the amount of people connected to the cell tower make a difference in connection speed?
.
+I have to switch between 3G and 4G when I move around the city and it can sometimes help me get like 5mbps more
Yes, the tower is limited in the bandwidth and number of customers they can serve. The major company that owns the tower sets these limits, think AT&T, Verizon, etc.
Uhhh
So that's the problem, here in Italy Iliad is very popular and about 1 person out of 2 has got it
Maybe I should change
Looks like Telefonica and Verizon own most of the towers there
Verizon being under the Vodaphone name
In fact as soon as I change zone and go to the mountains or in a less inhabited zone (example) the connection boosts a lot
Sounds like a virtual network limit to me
I have the map for the antennas too and the nearest one is 200 meter away
They limit your speed to 500mbps
Which you can't even reach 👍
500 is almost what I get on 5G in a major city lol
I know most of the other companies limit the connection to 30mbps (actually it is 38mbps)
The question is whether that 500 mb is divided up between people
Wow, in Italy you won't get anything similare even with a cabled connection
No, its the actual limit for a SIM
I think .....
No wait, I made a mistake, it's 390mbps download limit and 50upload
(I don't care much about the upload)
😩 👍
I get 150 up when it's not the middle of the day lol
Move to US
EZ
Or UK
I have a similar problem with Verizon in US
This is where my dad lives (using 4G)
Yep that's congestion all right
Same location, 3G
It just inverted the upload and download
Aaand this is (4G) the connection I got when I was in the middle of nothing, only crops and 1 house every mile, and the connection is beautiful
(at least for me that good)
Should I change phone company?
(Also a cheaper one)
It limits to 30mbps (actual 38) but at least it's stable in every zone
(for now...)
Looks like Iliad owns a few of their own towers but mostly they bounce off Wind Tre towers
Yeah I know but I don't think that makes a big difference
So you'll be getting de-prioritized when you're on their towers
It's hard to complain at that price I'd think. I pay $150 for three lines effectively. Which is considered decent here.
Most of the phone companies that are very popular in Italy still limit you to like 30GB, you have limited SMS and phone calls ant they still make you pay over 10€/m
So considering I get 50GB + unlimited SMS and calls for only 5.99€/m it's cheap and convenient
I don't know of a single service in my state that's that cheap, even pay as you go burner phones go for more
Only in the city, the minute I go out of urban areas I end up roaming
I completely forgot roaming existed, they installed so many antennas even in high mountain that for me coverage is not a problem, connection stil sucks
They like to ruin landscapes
At my mother's home I obviously use wi-fi but fyi I get 90mbps download and 23mbps upload with a connection one of his friends recommended and she pays 70€/month 😬 😐 big BRUH
That's a very bad connection
And I can't even get fiber to my house
Only fttc
Neither can I but that's because of monopolies. Comcast has no competition so no reason to upgrade us. And they charge $150 for 300/10.
So I use tmo for home Internet over 5g for $50 for better speed lol.
holy
is the ping alright?
so weird question here, HDMI 2.0 can be used with any standard hdmi cable right? Or do I need a specific hdmi cable for HDMI 2.0 features?
Technically you'll want one that's certified for 2.0+ but in practice an older standard may work if it's good quality
Ahh thanks, I'll try a few things then. Thanks for the help 🙂
Does anyone have opinions on the Galaxy buds live (beans)? just remembered they where a thing - looking for open back style - no rubber tips and have heard to many bad things about not being able to hear the linkbuds in loud environments
im new to keyboard modding is using wd40 for spray lubing generic blues that are soldered in a good idea
you really shouldn't ever spray lube to be honest
No
I don't understand why no one is talking about this vintage microphone from the 1990's; the computer microphone that everyone had, the Labtec AM-242!

I have been using a Corsair K63 Lapboard but just upgraded my keyboard and mouse, I loved this as I do a lot oo gaming and work from my couch or bed. Any suggestion's on where I might find something like this for new keyboard and mouse?
to me it just looks like you could use the same lapboard for your new keyboard and mouse, just take the old keyboard out
Thanks
teekayell
mostly a gimmick
its really cool to have if you actually have the 7 speakers and sub around you in a home theater or home studio but in headphones it is gimmick
just look for headphones that have good imaging and soundstage
im just looking for good wireless gaming
or
doesnt have to be gaming
just wireless low latency but thats usually just gaming headphones anyway
meh the only decent wireless headphones I know of are the aiaiai which may not be for everyone
i think your standards are a lot higher than mine
lol I mean there aren't really many wireless audio devices I was happy with that also have low latency
no no i mean in terms of sound quality
i think practically anything would be an improvement to me because i literally daily drive apple wired earbuds
ooo is it done?
nah
nacho that side profile is fire
looks sick
probably going to have the rear curve not flush with the back
screwholes look funky if you do
How do I get this little lock icon to go away? It’s an apex 7 tkl keyboard and I can’t seem to get it to go away
caps lock scroll lock num lock
Anyone have any custom 60% keyboard kit or prebuilt recommendations?
slap a toblerone on it
that's kinda boring though
Budget?
$100-300 Nothing above 300
You could do a bakeneko60
I just bought a ciel basically the same…
do you have a weight design decided yet or nah
no
for some reason when i use a lighter my keyboard disconnets and then reconnects
i think i wanna do dual faux weight with grills on one of my boards
where it's a single weight for interior but split on the outside?
Basically the same
Considering a ciel is just a modified bakeneko
Did u need help with switches and keycaps?
Also where did u get it?
I was thinking of getting C3 Banana Splits or gateron ks9 milky yellows
paramountkeeb
what r those lmao
i want something that sound creamy if yk what i’m sayin 🤔
no
What is the question?
Oh
Yeah clicky switches are annoying to listen to
The reason I got into customs is because my family got so annoyed at my razer greens
pretty sure gazzew has the best silent linears but haven't checked in a while
got a link to the keyboard?
Bobagums are insane yeah
I dont know about “best” just bc like I don’t want to make that claim and be wrong but they probably are
Yes u have blues
Higher quality — and higher quality standards
Oh
it doesn't flex where it shouldn't and probably sound/feel better
and doubles as a weapon and dumbell
na smtn that sounds nice
Budget?
for the switches themselves? probably 100
Get mx blacks
That’s a crazy budget for switches tho
Eventually u will realize that there is a drop off point of when it’s worth spending more money on switches
Most people stick to Cherry or jwk switches, some stuff like tecsee or ttc but mainly Cherry or jwks
Get mx blacks, I would recommend u break them in, either mechanically or by yourself, and lube and film then
Spring swap too
get vint blacks for clout
sp and new gateron been making good stuff lately
Hard to beat mx blacks
Is this a good deal? I like the media buttons and the volume wheel. Is there maybe something better for the same price or cheaper that has these features? I am not quite set on what I want for switches, so I am open to suggestions.
No
You can get much better board with knobs
At 130 maybe not custom. You can always just remap stuff
Any suggestions?
even for $75 it isn't a good deal?
Depends on budget
I don't really want to spend more than $80. That includes tax and shipping. I don't need it, but I would like RGB (individual key lighting preferred). I want media key (previous track, next track, play, pause and volume wheel/knob). I would like it to be hotswappable as I don't want to waste my time with one that isn't.
rk or keychron boards is ez recc
Hm checking RK out now. Do they only come in white? They don't seemt o have media buttons
they sometimes have black, and in terms of media keys i have no idea actually if they did have that
eh white is a bad color when everything on my desk is black. Also I've looked into Keychron before and they don't have per key light customization as well as no media buttons.
As for RK.. $30 sounds like a really cheap board.
RK is a good dirt cheap choice
For what it is that is
Some models even has pre-lubed switches
like i said they do have black
but the white sells more so that's probably why the white has more stock
u cna jsut effort to find more
I have been efforting for weeks to find a good keyboard with what I want for the price point I want. So far what I linked is what I've found. I still decided to ask in here just to see if there was maybe something similar that was better quality. However, the ones that were suggested do not have 2 of the features that I am looking for.
uh, for linears?
Someone actually did that believe it or not. I forget what they took the stem from
Some other gazzew
thought the point was halo something stem in u4t housing?
maybe some different stem + u4 housing?
dunno
I dunno, I don't really follow frankenswitch stuff
All I remember is they made linear boba and everyone asked why
lol
boba lt is the linear u4ts
the new purple one
also, boba sounds aren't really for everyone
for some, it's too muted for what they can tolerate
good stock perf though
no
I mean, isn't the point of all the boba switches to be quiet?
what are you talking about
wait
I don't know
I was under the impression u4 and u4t were both made to be quiet
And extrapolated the info
Well they have both silents and normal ones
I guess for silents it'd work well as intended though like i said the lt and u4ts's sound profile ain't for everyone
Unless it's some thock chasing 14yo that needs something to put "is your keyboard this thocky?" on social media
holy bobas are so nice, i wish i had a keyboard again so i can use the 70 sitting on my desk
i think i typed on holy bobas for like a day or two then sold em
u4t is made to be thocky
Holy bobas aren’t possible anymore
They are probably the best halo frankenswitch tho
Hps are good too
It’s a halo stem in a u4t housing
Mx blacks are linears why are u comparing them to holy bobas as an alternative
Also I’m convinced you’ve never heard an mx black it’s sound profile is extremely unique—especially to a holy boba
Frankenswitches are kinda memey
Like I said, somebody did a linear holy boba as a meme. I don't know why
As for sound profile, I've never been impressed by the mx black or any other mx switch for that matter. They just sound like cheap, tacky plastic to me
case : tiger tkl prototype by some1else
plate : aluminum
switches : mx blacks
switch lube : ghv4 - heavy
keycaps : gmk peaches n cream
stabilizers : idk
iphone sound tests only
overlubed ghv4 mx blacks
I've heard them in person
Ye but since they said linear holy boba, I thought it would be some random linear stem with u4 because linear
Then you would know they sound good—what was the build
Idk what they were talking about
The stuff that gets said here is wild
I like romer g keys
imo Frankensteins are not worth
went thru a random phase where I made a bunch, switches nowadays don't really needa be frankensteined
to be fair when i got into it, there were almost no long pole switches available
it was b4 tecsee n what not spammed the market with em
That'd be what the meme was
Too much rattle from wobble imo
The tolerance on mx stems isn't great
I guess yeah
Your switches rattle?
No, I don't have mx switches lol
Maybe clatter would be a better description of the noise it made
That sounds like a board issue not a switch issue
No, it was definitely the switches
I've heard the same exact board, plate, caps, and case in another build with different switches, no issue
The only thing that changed between them was the switches
We’re they hg or retooled or what
Just stock, right out of the box/bag
I mean this in the nicest way possible, but if I ask if they were hgs or retooled and u respond saying they were stock, that makes me think u do not know what ur talking about
Just stock mx blacks, they came from the store in a bag
Imo modding switches is like frankenswitches. There are enough options that you might as well get a switch that is good already instead of spending extra time and hoping you're consistent
The bottom line is that mx is cheap and has bad tolerance. They might sound good in a vacuum, but compared to a whole slew of other switches they just sound like cheap plastic
wait that is a super hot take
mx switches have pretty good tolerance for a long time now and theyre even better with the newer stuff
acoustic wise, that can be subjective but objectively they have a unique sound sig that is only present with switches with cherry housing
and I wouldnt consider modding switches like frankensteins. you can say all frankensteins are modded switches, but not all modded switches are frankensteins. You can usually mod switches with stuff you already have on you compared to buying a whole other switch to swap parts
i mean the take the mx sounds bad isn't really new
but the lack or parts and compatability for non mx switches means they aren't really a great option unless you want to spend a lot of money and time finding stuff
Using switches stock, especially linears, is unfair tbh and I’m not sure if u can really cross them all out based off that
There are good stock linears too, just look at creams
that's the worst example you could have picked
creams are pom on pom which doesn't has a stick slip feeling stock
they were the first switch that people started breaking in and kinda led to the break in machines and everybody doing it
Yeah, but they need no modifications. You just need to press them a few times
most switches are fine then if you press them a bunch lol
Yes, edit your built in profile so the default LED color is "black" aka off
Probably easiest to do from the Logitech software in Windows
Yes it has onboard memory that saves the profile. You just need to switch the profile mode toggle to the onboard.
lol
I set my rgb to black too
effectively "off"
i can adjust brightness with darker colors too
💀💀💀💀💀💀
Alright your trolling
Lmfao
💀💀💀💀💀💀
That’s not how breaking in works
You need to press them a few hundred thousand times
That also doesn’t resolve any housing wobble
And won’t help sound profile
That just helps smoothness
Which again, literally worst possible example u could’ve said
Few hundred thousand? You got much experience with creams? After 100 or so it's pretty good, there's some serious law of diminishing returns at play
And who said breaking in had anything to do with sound or wobble?
i mean there's normally a relationship with sound and wobble
Yeah, but breaking in will only maybe get rid of small scratchyness. Not much sound wise going on
MX blacks are kinda wobbly, which imo makes them sound worse than a less wobbly switch. If it doesn't bother you or you don't mind filming and maybe relubing that's fine
I don’t know if ur trolling or not
Relubing doesn’t help with wobble
Also 100 actuations—even 1000 won’t do much of anything
I have experience with creams because I own some
You missed the important part, filming
With the optional relube after filming
Right but u mentioned wobble, then went on to list ways to fix it
And u mentioned lube
Which makes no sense
You've never relubed after applying films?
Dog what
That’s just not what I said at all
Yeah, I think you're just misunderstanding what I'm saying
Wobble, so film.
Switch open, so maybe lube.
That's all
But for what it's worth, depending on what type of lube you're using it actually can reduce the audio impact of wobble. Doesn't really decrease how much it physically wobbles, but makes it quieter when it does
y'all think too much
i have decided i have too many switch parts why are there so many bags
because the more organized the more reddit karma you get on pictures of ur stuff
ironically creams in my experience suffer from more stem wobble and scratch than mx blacks stock
and ive gone thru a few batches since i got a bunch of stock mx blacks/creams to break in
i am in the process of organizing it
need some mason jars to cause i have 100+ browns rn pretty sure and 70+ blacks
my drawer is cursed
bc i have like a bunch of xiami bags stuffed in it lmao
i got rid of 3 sets recently tho so there is a bit more space
😭
the bags arent too far off from gmk trays lol
that nuke data?
ye
those are cadet alphas
base is somewhere
actually theyre cadet/support for a 60, idk where i place the box for em with the rest of the stuff tho
i already have wob katakana so i passed
only set i might be picking up in the near future is pink alert
i might pick that up
want to pick up a beta js kit but only the normal base is still up for pre order
shame cause the red and gray look amazing together
dmk released a gob w/ red cyrilic subs kit
kinda tempting for the price and its tripleshot iirc
isn't dmk kinda meh
ye its not the best
but i think its better than epbt and mw iirc
could be wrong tho
idk i just buy og cherry stuff
i forgot to place a bid on some og cherry stuff
p sure i would of won too bc it barely had any attention
a board?
lmao this is so good https://drop.com/talk/106596/introducing-mt2-profile/2882536
i just got the corsair k65 and im so surprised at the quality
its so heavy and it actually feels good
you, bowl and bio all take the same type of pics
judging from that 1 photo
Lol
I’m not a photographer
Idk how u guys make ur photos look so good my phone poops out terrible photos
Nice! Enjoy it
thx
rotating them helps
all you need is an okay camera, decent lighting, and an basic understanding in photography
hm those are a little too dark
Dat Bokeh
Rotating what
the keyboard is sideways
dw i suck too
a basic understanding of photography and composition can go a long way
what brand keyboard is that?
It’s a merisi ottantaquattro with gmk beta js
It’s fine
doesnt get access to any credentials
its only for integrations for mute deafen and join/leave vc
then dont use em if u hate
Looking for Bluetooth earbud type headphones, preferably with the thing that clips over your ear. Don’t want to spend to much I guess. Any suggestions?
@ me
Like these?
Yeah! Like those
I also just found the Anker Soundcore Spirit X
Those are more in my price range, if I can find them in stock
Hello everyone!
I was searching how many amperes the * lightning node core * provides on each connector (it has 6 connectors each provides 5v but I don't know how many Amperes)
Lighting node core ≠ lightning node pro
And if you're wondering why I want to know it, it is because I want to make a Corsair compatible RGB led strip
Do u know the maximum wattage
Or resistance
I don't know it
But how many amperes does the 5v SATA power provide?
So I can calculate the vattage and amperage
Mmh
1.5 A edit per pin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA#Standard_connector
Serial ATA (SATA, abbreviated from Serial AT Attachment) is a computer bus interface that connects host bus adapters to mass storage devices such as hard disk drives, optical drives, and solid-state drives. Serial ATA succeeded the earlier Parallel ATA (PATA) standard to become the predominant interface for storage devices.

The lighting node core included with my Corsair x546 case looks different than the "base" one but I think that there shouldn't be a difference
Considering that it is connected via SATA + usb 2.0 maybe the power is also combined
so thats 3.33 A per pin
i just found amps by doing V/A lmao im dumb ignore the 3.33 thing, thats R
4 hrs sleep lets go
Should it be 0.5A every fan connector?
but yeah the sata is 1.5 A per pin
hard to say, depends if its wired in parallel or series or a combination
Uff
how'd u get the 0.5
As systems get more and more (and more!!!) RGB, the load on the 5V rail on the PSU is becoming more and more of a concern. To help with planning this, I've put together this table that shows the tested current draw of the various RGB items in the Corsair ecosystem. All values in the tables are mi...
move this to #old-cooling
👍
By considering the LL-120 (16led) with almost 40mA
40*16=640mA
Guys, should i get the Razer Kraken X or the HyperX Cloud II. I'm ona budegt
hyperx
gaf mat r2 lets go
might pick up an extra one
i wonder if hes doing it to help fund medical bills
if so ill def buy stuff
I have sennheiser gsp 300
also for telling if a gaf mat is fake or not the fake one is cropped in more and doesn't look white (fake on bottom)
would it be at all possible to use a whole pen-enabled device (such as tablet PCs, or iPad etc)
just as a large, no-display drawing tablet?
it'd be connected to, which adds pen-input, to something like a PC
I think there are some apps around for that but i don’t think you’d get a hover function
Procreate + ipad + Apple Pencil ive found to be very good as display tablet
I'm basically trying to add pen input to a PC,
without buying a dedicated drawing pad,
u meant that too right ?
Nope
There's no such thing as far as I know
The monitor has to support the pen
Oh wait, nvm
Using a tablet as an input to pc? That might be possible
It is possible with an ipad, with duet app
Duet display is the name, and it's paid
but as i said it will be somewhat limited, like hover will not work, tilt and pressure might be a problem not sure tbh
true
Touch screen laptop?
is used modi+asgard and 6xx still a good choice
There are a lot of decent deals used for audio equipment
what is the best headphones that you can get for 100 usd
With or without dac/amp and for what purpose, prefer open or closed back
i dont think there is anything in that range that needs an amp/dac
10$ dongle cuts into price so no 100$ k361 or smth yaknow
you've heard of relegendables but have you heard of legendables
tbh i dont know what means lmao
what are you going to use it for?
What do you guys think of this for the price? $94 for the version with RGB/Hots swappable/Red Switches.
I can't decide if I want the aluminum version for another $10
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k10-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=39426675900505
Keychron K10 Wireless mechanical keyboard has included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, and users can hotswap every switch in seconds; with the hot-swappable version. Please drop your email on "Notify Me When Available" if the product model is out of stock.
unless someone else has a recommendation in the same price point?
Yeet. Artisan hien xsoft
wouldn't get aluminum if not for looks, it's just aluminum strips added on top, not alum case
alum case gets expensive
ah ok. Thank you.
Keychron is fun though
the only thing I'm not liking about it is that the individual keys can't be customized to what color I want
I would like it to quickly see certain keys
...???
Typically, if you have to look at your keyboard, you're doing something wrong
There's the usual 'textured' keycaps on f and j like usual
that I'd like to have certain keys lit up so I can see out of the "corner" of my eye
It's just a very very rare situation to ever be in
for you.
Thats because someone took the time to make sure u did tho
🙂
For most tasks, you'll get used to keybinds
I have keybinds
I also have an mmo mouse
but I also walk the keyboard
I would like per key lighting to make the walking easier for me.
If you're playing games, qwer asdf zcxv is half the controls for most games
What do you do that needs walking the keyboard?
L
I'm not saying 'oh you should know already', I mean you shouldn't have to go beyond doing a few common keys
Like if you're doing blender and have 50 keybinds, gotcha, but if you're gaming or something, not necessary
rs3 can make use of a lot of keybinds
there are 70 keybindable action slots
and I currently use most of them
rs3, well, I'd just get extra macros lol
whats rs3
osrs and rs3 detect macros and will ban
runescape
I have 20+ years in this game I am not willing to get banned over macros
right
I know what you mean
basically I press 1 button and it "presses" 2 buttons yeah?
FN layers rebinds one key to another
i think he means more like mapping keys to a function layer
I know K8 pro is via compatible, dunno about the other boards
like ctrl + key
ye
Oh, I do that as well
Like instead of having to walk your keyboard to do q w e r t y, you'll be able to make the same inputs with q w e FN+q FN+w FN+e
that kinda thing
VIA gives you like 4 layers to work with if you want to go crazy
layers will start to get confusing.
haven't looked at keychron recently tbh
plus I already have muscle memory for shift and ctrl + key
oh well, just giving you more options
I've gotten used to 65% board in like a week lol
Even though I have a bunch of binds with fn keys and tilda and such
I appreciate it. I'm already trained to my buttons though and they work for me. I just simply wanted a keyboard with single key lights to make it that much easier for me
is the k8 a 80%?
K8 normally already does half of it
It's TKL
pcb stabs seems interesting
Yea
I wonder if they went screw in stabs
Fun
Get better stabs but more annoying to get out and lube and such :p
normal k8 since it's plate mounted you can just get it out without getting the plate out or anything
Oh no I mean it's actually a feature, you can get better stabs
I just mean there's also a quirk to the old stabs
(I have a normal k8)
:D
It is a fun board
re-lube the stabs, put in new switches, and it's neat
I went from browns to T1's and now to U4t
T1s and U4t are still both great, just caters to a slightly different preference
If you like sharp bump, will suggest T1's
u4t's much smoother bump
but hey, that's the only switches I've really tried
Fair
mid tactiles where its at
what is the difference between 3 pin and 5 pin when it comes to mechanical kbs?
It's just stability basically
If you want to use 5 pin switch with 3 pin board, you can clip off the extra 2 pins, but it might be slightly wobbly
ah ok
5 pin is better
@rancid oxide as long as you are not doing half plate or platless, either is fine
personally i also dont like 3 pin with millmax and some hotswap sockets but plate also matters
its just for stability
I dont know if anyone can help or not Im looking for an all in one printer that has capabilities to print on CD or dvd is that even still a thing and if so any reccomendations
would any1 have recommendations for a printer plez thanks 🙇♂️ :
cheap, not too big
print photos well,
compatible with cheap 3rd party ink/toner,
(preferably single tanks vs tricolor cartridges)
decent page yields,
has scanner,
not too slow printing
Dont think uk is for sale... Closest available thing might be an island in greece
I was talking about u wanting to buy the mouse and uk
Is the Logitech g502 wireless still good or are there better options?
It's OK but I've heard it can double click alit and is really heavy
If you're willing to spend £30 more I'd go g pro superlight or just g pro
It’s still good if you don’t mind a heavy mouse and you get a good deal
Is 120 a good deal?
