also whoever complains about desoldering with a solder sucker is kinda bad it's really not that bad
ss02 best investment i've made
whats going on up top
the built board?
Probably not quite the place to ask this, but I'm looking for keyboards with Macro Keys and RGB. Mechanical is fine, quieter is better. My previous kit was the Logitech G910 Orion.
you gotta specify which key
the future funk key cause i don't have another ansi pipe and i randomly got a future funk fix kit a bit ago and it had a 1.5u key
the sideway numpad enter cause i those are og dyesubs and not ansi
but i did just buy a crp desko color kit with ansi stuff so it should be fixed in a bit
finally got it built and it feels pretty nice
but yeah i was considering building a speaker
i want to use it to learn soldering
and have another diy chassis project to call my own
ok i see
Hello. I am trying to find a 5.25 front panel USB hub that has 3 or 4 USB 3.1 connectors and at least 1 USB Type C connector that is Thunderbolt 3 or 4 connectivity. I need this for a PC running Windows 10. Do they make such a thing. I can find lots of these devices that connect via the old 2.0 or 3.1 standard with a max of 5 gig transfer speed, but nothing in the 20-40 transfer speed that Thunderbolt 3 and 4 and USB 4.0 offer. Can anyone help?
isnt 1.2 like the thinnest ppl go
and im contemplating if i wanna get a half plate made for my board
bakeneko?
nope
finally have my Alice built
what are some good wireless headphones for ~$100 usd/~$150 aud
yeah 1.2 is less common than 1.6
thinner pcb > flex cuts
hiney had a 1mm pcb for a bit but hasn't restocked in a while
How do I clean my key caps?
water and soap
or just water
"get some warm water (make sure it's not hot as ABS can be warped if the temperature is too high) and some normal dish soap. Soak the caps in the water for 10 minutes or so then take them out and dry them with a towel. After they've been dried place the caps with the stems facing upwards and leave them to dry overnight. The morning after they've dried take each one individually and with the stems facing downwards tap them on the table to make sure that all of the water has been removed. After all of this they should be freah and clean, ready to put back on your board."
Just wash with lukewarm water + soap if it's abs, or prob just tap water plus soap
any wireless headphone recommendations for around $100 usd?
Raycon
yeah i got a pair of hyperx cloud 2s i believe
Hello, please help, my wifi speed for pc is slower than my phone and laptop. For the phone and laptop, the download speed is 250+mbps, and for the pc it is only 20mbps.
Does anyone know what could be wrong?
@craggy abyss What are you downloading to?
Might just be the speed of your storage
Hdd etc
recommendations for a good full sized keyboard? that is reasonably cheap (and has rgb)
For cheap, keychron c2 hotswap
oh wow that's expensive
is it?
should be like 60$
don't buy it at that price
Shipping is high directly from keychron but

Best mouse for gaming ? Wirless or wired?
Generally, doesn't really matter, all about preference
It’s nice not dragging around a tether
but technically there's 8khz wired mice
Tru, not that you’ll actually notice
You do notice that slight drag at the top of your mouse quite a bit more then the extra 5 ms of delay
Currently seems overkill and actually no different above 2Khz, according to 1 or 2 reviews on the 8Khz viper.
p sure theres no difference past 1000
i think most gaming mice poll at that rate, and its totally overkill to begin with
any nice low profile keyboards besides these? don't really like the colors on whats available there but i really wanna get something low profile
They work fine for me. What makes them bad? Switches? Materials?
Pretty sure k4 or whatever is low profile
But other than that, all I got is normal profile
Or was it k2
ty
yes
Switches, material, layout, price, stabs
Etc
Stabs?
how much is the k70
K70 Mk.2 is 150ish, at least on corsair's website
Stabilizers
ye, viper ultimate, orochi v2 and viper mini
hello
can sopmeone help me with my mouse it seems to stop working out of no where
i got it around a year ago it is a hyper x haste mouse , my computer makes this noise like it disconnects and then it stops working for a few moments then my mouse works idk what is haoppening
could be a faulty/dying cable or bandwidth issues
how can i figure that out
cause this happens with another mouse i have i connect it to my pc and they just suddenly stop working
if you have multiple things plugged in, could try removing some and seeing if the issue persists, if it does then try another usb port to try and narrow down if its a bandwidth issue. if its happening with another device then faulty/dying cable is less likely the thing that is happening unless both are dying somehow
well i only have my mic usb plugged in the back and my keyboard and the mouse
strange
indeed very strange
can it be my pc ?? maybe
also when i move my mouse fast ,my pc does the connect and disconnect sound
could be cable, if there is a lot of stress on a part of the cable, it could get damaged. Kind of like phone chargers having the connectors ripped off because of heavy use
and the tiniest movements could be the difference between a disconnect and reconnect so that may explain that issue
who all has a membrane keyboard

@tight pulsar you gonna pick up that gmk griseann set you linked b4?
Been using a K100 for about a year now—would getting a Glorious GMMK Pro/TKL be a good investment? The idea of hotswappable switches sounds really appealing to me
depending on how much you want to get into custom keyboards. if you just want a 75% with hotswappable, itd be better to go with a keychron instead since itd be cheaper unless you specifically want the knob thats on the gmmk pro
I have a Logitech g432 headset and that the mic sometimes doesn’t pick up my voice and also when it does it is statically, is there anything I can do or do I need to get another headset/mic
Griseann so lit
are you using teh usb adapter
are you on windows desktop or laptop
Desktop
ok try different usb ports or go into settings and update teh drivers
also download teh logitech app
I’ve tried different USB ports, and have the app and no new updates for drivers
Thinking about picking up a set
maybe instead of updating drivers revert them
I’ll try once I get on my desktop
i mean q2 has knob as well
y'all see q4 or whatever it was called
looks really dumb
can someone help me with how to download something ionto a usb drive
so i can update my bios since im in a very old version
download what - which mobo model? updating bios from flash drive is ez depending on mobo, but that's how I did my P45 and current z77 bios...
!ask
yeah hopefully they don't fail on the layout designing for their 1800
not sure if that pic someone sent on the simp group was the real render coz the frow is utter chaos
somehow arisu is getting worse with every new drop
Wtf
Keychron is taking this too far
A few Q boards cool
Q9 arisu board
bruh
This is pretty cool https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJRwCxrKJQc

Moveable numpad should be a common thing tbh. That's all I can say now. Video won't load for me yet
itd be nice if it was cheaper but the price is just oof
Link to a decent external numpad? I never thought about one.
just like google numpad
Leopold FC210TP Double Shot PBT Mechanical Keyboard (Brown Cherry MX). Great for gaming and typing, this Leopold FC210TP features tactile switches for tactile feedback without the noise of a clicky style switch.
topre numpad
realforce numpad very cool
if anybody wants cheap wob max is selling a really shined og set on mm discord for $50
nvm they gone
27”/1080p Monitor recommendations? I’m wanting to have 2 stacked horizontally. I’ll have a 3rd monitor that’ll be alongside those but I have that one locked and loaded. Lol
Sure you want 1080p at 27 inches
Also I'd probably just ask in #old-monitors-and-tv
Hello #old-monitors-and-tv here. Just get two M27q’s. Alright I gotta run
Should i get a protection plan for the g502 since it i guess typically breaks after a yr
idk how the newegg protection plan works tho
Depends on how heavy you game and what you play honestly. I play a lot of mmos so my left click started double clicking after 7 months. They gave me a new one under warranty.
How long is the default warranty if you know
1 year
Do you think 10.99 for 3yrs is worth the warranty
Well, what do you play and how often?
I play like everyday but mostly just FPS's
Well, fps involves a lot of left clicking so might be worth it. It's through squaretrade right?
They've got basically extended warranties. In this case it might be a 3 year warranty in addition to the 1 year factory warranty, with 1 year full replacement after with 2 years of partial replacement after that.
mm ok
we do a lil pre ordering
aifei gmk arctic?
the x an o seems emough, how's the mod legending?
think it's more rougher than the usual abs keycaps
ackspace is ad like it always is
yeah i got both kits for around 80ish on aliexpress
nice
wanna try domikeys as well but the kitting seems painful
$100 bucks for all except the doubleshot alphas
not friendly towards my hypothetical financial capacity
I swear people switch to another language when talking about keyboards
This must be how it feels for less technical people listening to us talk about PCs
are those the new abs doubleshot clones ?
is doubleshot and abs lol
yes
then ye theyre the new set of clones coming out
you can get them on amazon with prime im p sure for about the same price
ggs
im bouta ship out all my taobao caps soon
waiting on a refund for some then i needa buy some gat oil kings
Gaf so lit
Raffle?
Actually
Shouldn't ask, i only know most artisans like that are all raffle gbs
they aren't doing sales right now
i just found a template in their server and wanted to mess around with colors
still waiting on the gaf x 910 collab
if you have 6.5k you can grab a lilac proto https://imgur.com/a/x765J4Q
deskmat?
i'd pick one up if prices weren't so high
want to pick up a coldtop topre one as well they look killer
got these
and ye prices for the gaf mat is insane
i had 2 rubrehose mats and 1 basically funded my gaf mat
hey you should give one of those to me
i think apex is doing a drop tomorrow
so who was gonna be the one to tell me that wallpaper engine can sync with the rgb of some brands
nobody
I guess it's a free-for-all out here, gotta find out everything myself 😔
why someone didnt find you and message you, i dont know
ikr, can't believe people aren't somehow tracking my every purchase to find out I have gear that can sync with wallpaper engine and telling me 🙄
leyo, or anyone really, when i press on my spacebar lightly i can see on the right side it goes down more/quicker? than the left. my assumption is that the wire isnt even and is slightly off
to even it, would i just use some plyers and twist it slightly until its even?
Is it lubed?
ye
evenly lubed?
ye
not sure on how to straighten out wire
a youtuber ive seen a few times, wildcat, tries to straighten out the wires of stabs if needed and they use plyers but not sure if theres other/safer ways or anything
maybe could just be uneven lubing
if you need to straighten the wires your stabs wires just suck
well theyre what comes with the keyboard
dont plan on buying stabs for this keyboard since this was my "cheap" build to get me into the hobby
at that point you might aswell get alu
do chairs count as periphrials?
im looking, been drooling over the secretlab Titan Softweave for a while now
im using a kitchen chair rn and i hate it
the issue is i cant sit in the Titan before i buy it
and its like 430 bucks
Do you get sweaty while gaming? A good mesh bottom office chair is good for that, I got mine for $160 and I love it
i want that chair but its hard to stomach the price, and if the chair is gonna be worth it\
no
i cant ever remeber sweating gaming
i sat in the mesh chairs and hated them
i like high back chairs lol
Cushions can be good then, especially if you're on the lighter side. They'll wear out eventually and you'll need to add a cushion
hey what headset is better steelseries arctis 7p or hyperx cloud 2 wireless?
what?
oh ok
but the problem is that some features i like one from the other so thats why i asked its really a tough choice
i like the two volume wheel on the arctis 7p and the tiny doungle and the insane range they have but the cloud 2 looks good and comfort
kinda late but
sera :solit:
typically imbalanced wires cause ticking
@brittle stream@topaz sky
g502 or basilisk v3?
?
Might've pinged for the bot/spam earlier w/ the fake nitro boost link/embed.
new mouse finally came in
g502 if you like a heavier mouse or be able to adjust the weight but both are good and have very slightly different shapes but similar
ay wob stuff will be here on the 28/9th nice
do you know what one is larger because i have quite large hands
dang linears feel weird after only using tactiles for a while
the logitech is a bit longer and wider but the razer is a tiny bit taller at the hump
the width im not sure if they are accounting for the thumb rest
aight cheers
I was thinking about a G502 mouse
I kinda want wireless to keep the cable clutter die
Down
wat did you get ?
some really shined wob caps from an 1800 board
but it was 6u bottom row so needed some other wob keys for a normal bottom row
i needa harvest some wob caps
god i really wanna buy the secretlab titan
i am like ungodly close
i am considering doing a pay per month thing too, its just a lot of money lol
Anyone know of a headset that doesn't hurt? Like it either super hurts the top of my head or it hurts my ears like none other. I have a Logitech G332 and I love that but somehow the mic doesn't like to pick up audio and if it does it's garbled like crazy and static. Otherwise it's my favorite headset. Just not about to spend $300 on it. The cushion on the top is nice but the ears do hurt around the edges after a while. Wireless ideally and a mute ability is needed for bathroom runs. Wireless cause cat. If it has Bluetooth that's a extra plus but not looking to spend more than $100 if possible. Money's forever tight and something like that really sets me back and makes things hard for the rest of the month.
And copy paste that to add to reddit.
But yea, any recommendations?
Alright. Ordered it
Bank account and I are having a sob session but it’s gonna be worth it
I mean, in general, something like dekoni pads might be worth looking into for any decent headphones, but wireless headphones tend to be not the greatest and expensive. One option is going for smth like Moondrop Aria and just get a separate mic, won't be able to hear the bathroom if the mic isn't in the bathroom.
Reason: Bad word usage
Idk if I should go glass lol, it sounds nice
Clearly I must have the money if I just spent what I did on a chair 😭
I think I may sleep in it for the first week just to help it break in a bit, I’m quite excited
Logikek mx master 2s or a basilisk x?
Wondering if the master 2s is a decent invesment
Does anyone know if I would still have to rely on Linux PulseAudio when using a USB sound card like the SoundBlasterX G-series or the Douk Audio P1?
Just keep the headset and get like a $40 blue snowball
Or a different mic that is cheap
hyperx solocast rather than snowball
@rigid valve yes it is
snowball is just very nasally
what wireless headphones would you recommend for about $100-$150
this is why the ohmk server can't have good things https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/se4tha/i_made_a_nifty_little_switch_chart_to_help_people/

😂
this has happened to him several times in the server unironically

Did I tell y’all my new Secretlab Titan arrives tommorow?
(nobody care)
🙀
What’s a decent video card that’s a reasonable price
what even is your budget lol
Impossible
Mobile devices like laptops, steam deck, consoles are probably better value than pc rn
Ehh
Depends
Mobile versions have worse performance than their desktop counterparts
A 3060 laptop for 1.1k or an abs 3060 build for 1300, the desktop will have like 15% better gpu perf, cpu depends
Also heating differences
There's also an open box 3060 build for I think 1107$ rn
one thing to remember here @shadow bane is for a desktop you need to purchase a monitor as well
True
thats gonna cost you 100-200$ extra on average
And keyboard and such
abs prebuilts come with keeb and mouse
Honestly it comes to personal preference imo
If you need to be mobile, laptop is worth it
Obviously
But if it's stationary, I'd pay the extra few hundred for the better perf and Temps
temps are fine on laptops
Rawr
they are meant to run at 90-95C
I just ordered a 3050 ti laptop for 730$ :p
unlike desktops
sheeeeeesh
Yeah, it's safe but it can be uncomfortable if on lap
And some laptops are made poorly and keyboards get hot
the cpu isnt on lap directly
For example
My brothers laptop
10750h 2070s mq, omen 15
Bottom of the laptop gets very hot
theres actually regulation in place that governs over how hot laptop bodies can get
Before I bought my pc I tried an acer triton something or other
But I think 30 series laptops have better Temps too
Not sure as for mobile cpus
ikr. I noticed on that small pic where it mentions falling for the joke 3+ times. Hilarious
Me? :0
I was talking about the little things
Where
I can’t describe it
Video port?
For streaming
The thing you can use to stream on switch console
It’s 4am my brain isn’t working
oh
OH
I MEANT CAPTURE CARD
Not video card
Yeah no I’m going to sleep
I mixed up the cards
I need a decent capture card
Rk royal kludge
What's your budget
Elgato 60s or whatever has worked really well for me for my switch I can’t remember the exact name but it’s the small outside of your pc one
Oohh okay!
Gucci cables
what wireless headphones would you recommend for about $100-$150
for pc use or mobile?
both but mostly pc
i have heard that the austrian audio hi-x25bt are good
i dont have any recommendation for wireless headphones on pc
especially if you use bt its so wonky
a good headphone that's not power hungry + wireless dac/amp could be a nice choice
the dac/amp would eat up his whole budget p much
either one would eat it up if you're getting at least a good one lol
do you have any recommendations for wired headphones?
What's your budget and preferences?
My budget is $100 - $150 usd. I don't care if they are over ear or on ear and they need to be comfortable enough to wear for a long time. I would prefer a mic, but don't need one and I would like a wire that can be unplugged from the headphones.
Since on ear is an option, a lighter option could be ksc75/porta pro with an apple dongle
(could get new pads for those)
An over ear option could be k361 with an apple dongle
Question with a followup question: do most laptops nowadays come with Bluetooth? If so, would Bluetooth earbuds be fine for voice chat or would smthn wired be much better
I know Bluetooth headphones tend to have meh mics
i always prefer wired but the vast majority of consumer laptops have bluetooth
Open or closed back?
closed back
headphones only
😔
Yes and wired better
Figured
Thinking about going wireless earbuds since i need a new pair anyways, and I need smthn to use with my laptop
bt on windows is really wonky
if you have airpods and a macbook, that might be a nice combo
Do you guys have some suggestions for studio monitors under 300 usd
Any reccs on decent budget headphones with mic? They're a secondary pair to use with a laptop, so don't have to be high end
Just as long as mic is decent, it works
Gmr air
Ty
LOL
whats your budget and were u looking for a prebuilt or custom?
mods can someone just pin mechmap from mechkeys
i realized my azza "gaming" kb is mechanical, can i just replace the switches and call it a day?
is it hotswap?
if not you would have to desolder and solder on new switches
it is
@tight pulsar
confirmed it is hotswap
then yeah u can buy whatever mx switches u want and pop them in
so do i need new keycaps or just smitches?
nah just new switches, u need a switch puller too
wdym
all 104 or so keys
you dont have to
you could just do the X amount u actually use
can i trim the kb then
like cut the numerical keypad off
like physically?
no i would not do that
keycap puller (or u can use ur hands to remove the keycaps, i dont recommend this tho), and a switch puller
both of which u can find on amazon for cheap
okay didn't realize the name
yeah like 5 bucks
for switches, what were u looking for? linear, tactile, or clicky
easiest to start there
linear
whats your budget?
like jwicks are basically 6 for 25 (anywhere in the west is overpriced for them) where as something 'higher end' like durocks are 65 cents per
oof
so 6.5 for 10, i think durock poms are 7 dollars for 10
i would not advise cherry mx switches, while they are like kinda considered the kings u need t o do a lot of effort to get them there
if that makes sense
like breaking them in and lubing is non optional
what does brown do
cherry browns?
the 90pcs for 40
theres multiple manus that sell browns
they are usually tactiles
im assuming ur talking about cherry browns which are a light tactile
gateron
gateron browns are tactiles
they're the same price regardless of color here
yeah
its the same tooling/same switch basically
just with a different stem and leaf
different manus have different prices
this brand i meant
u could, are u in the US?
dm me
do u mind if i dm u?
pls
decent factory lube, really cheap
Pro yellows and ks3 are pretty well lubed afaik
Gazzew switches are usually lubed well stock
which gazzew switch are u referring to in particular
wrong
Gateron pros and JWICKS have very good factory lube
very good compared to other factory lubes maybe lol
They’re literally good
Your baseless stigmatism against prelube demonstrates a very inexperienced and child-like perception of a complex hobby and gives me a good indication of how YouTubers are leveraging popular opinion to farm views whilst reinforcing these incorrect ideologies
Referring to the u4ts but I believe it's similarly good for all of their switches
yikes
Gazzew is more an oil iirc
Wait actually you might be right
u4ts have a thin layer which definitely is nice
Time to open my nixdork top and bottom u4ts
i dont really watch keybros and u have no reason to be so aggressive about this lmfao
maybe i can see the argument that a new persons lube job is poorer than a good factory
but thats not what you were saying
in relation to what
But that doesn’t make jwick or gateron pro lube bad
While I do agree he is being a little aggressive I also believe that assuming anything factory lube is always bad is just wrong
when did i say factory lube is always bad
Here
most switches are factory lubed anyways
Uh no
Oil is not lube
Not really
unless specifically stated then yes
So
Good hand lube is better than good factory lube
But good factory lube is still good
Compared to no lube, bad factory lube, and mediocre hand lube
well im glad we agree
Anyways, pro yellow, ks3, and gazzew switches should be good factory

i hate that emoji
ill photoshop one so it has your cat instead of pepe

What are some good budget speakers
I forgot that I need speakers
I saw a gaming soundbar that I was gonna get… but I’m not sure
It’s only $40
But
Wait no
I was gonna get
Redragon GS520 Anvil RGB Desktop Speakers, 2.0 Channel PC Computer Stereo Speaker with 6 Colorful LED Modes, Enhanced Sound and Easy-Access Volume Control, USB Powered w/ 3.5mm Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GK9LCRW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_QFJ34H7BFYN56YNADM3N

yea but why are you looking for gaming speakers
Anything labeled "gaming" audio related usually is going to be awful
These
I lost that soundbar I saw
But I’m just trying to find some good speakers
Because my monitor doesn’t have any
They are manufactured by Redragon.
I don’t know anything about red dragon
I looked it up
Looks pretty nice
I see another keyboard… oh no, this is gonna be the third one I get I don’t need it
I don’t need it
…
it so pretty
It’s a
Keychron
Q1
I’m all over the place, my apologies
It is
I might ask for it as a present for the holidays or save
It’ll be a treat
Keychron Q1 is a fully customized 75% layout mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and unlimited possibilities. Q1 is an all-metal keyboard that allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typing experience.
The mint green one
@cursive oracle another alternative is sp star meteor whites, 57g springs
oh thanks
Not a gamer, but want decent wifi connection in the house.
Currently have a Netgear R8000 and a Netgear AC750 Range extender. All things being equal, would one expect a MK64 (netgear) to perform better, or might you smart folks here have a better suggestion?
If you've got a bit to spend and a larger home (2000+ sq. ft) a mesh router system would be great. Much better than range extenders. With a 750 rated range extender you're actually limited to 375 mb connection speed max with perfect signal because it's using half the bandwidth to communicate with the router and half for devices.
are there any differences from the gmr-545 air and 540-ISO?
other than the 540 costing an extra 10$?
Any good webcam recommendations?
what are you using the webcam for?
just for like zoom meetings or streaming or anything specific?
I’m assuming meetings but something that delivers a clear enough image
It’s for a buddy and I have no real idea what a all around decent webcam would be
if its just for meetings, something like a logitech c920 or higher would be good enough
Alright ty
Is the ducky one 2 mini good
Is there such thing as a Bluetooth (or otherwise wireless) webcams that I can position freely - even if it needs a power cable? I’d like to use it with a mac and maybe a PC but probably not.
I’ve heard of the “Logitech Mevo Start, Wireless Live Streaming Camera” but i don’t know if this is what I’m looking for
I heard that’s not great as a webcam though? Honestly don’t know where to look. I’m ok if it needs a usb dongle to receive the signal
@ me if you do - I’m putting my phone down but don’t want to miss it
if you hav an old phone laying around there is an app that allows you to use it as a webcam
its free, but if you pay for it then you get a watermark free footage
What app? Android or iOS specific?
i think its called irium and ik it works on android fs since thats wat i used it on
been a while since then so i cant really say much
there are multiple apps for both ios and android, some people even use obs virtual cam
i use droidcam
droidcam is bad use iriun webcam
no limit on camera quality
Still looking for a dedicated one like “concept Pari” from Dell
@glad yarrow @gritty kettle @west hornet
I don't know of any specifically, why you want wireless? if you are fine with a power cable i'd imagine having a usb cable for webcam wired is sufficient
What is a good brand for entry level gaming mice?
What budget
Every brand makes good and bad products
Probably worth looking at viper mini on the smaller side, smth more like g502 on the bigger side for wired mice, depending on the size of your hand, and g305 is an option for wireless
ok, thanks
a little over budget, but the razer orochi v2 is at $58 rn which is slightly more ergo than an ambidextrous mouse and its wireless. it has gone one sale for $45 a few times in the past
its also on the smaller size as well
razer deathadder v2 mini is also $20 rn if you want a smaller ergo mouse
ok
G 203 is nice
i like the g305 a lot
The Shure MV7 is a professional-quality USB/XLR dynamic microphone inspired by the legendary SM7B, ideal for close mic applications that require vocal intelligibility with a balanced tone. A touch panel interface on the microphone itself provides control over microphone gain, headphone level, mon...
thoughts?
Quite expensive mic
so not worth?
its for my gf shes records music and shes been looking for a studio mic for recording and stuff
i am open to other options ofc
Just vocals or music in general?
vocals
Might want to stick with dynamic mics like maybe q2u on the cheaper end
kk
Condenser mics will pick up more noise and therefore better for general music recording afaik
I was just thinking you might want to get an xlr interface for mv7, but dunno if something like a m track solo will drive it
And smth like elgado wave is another 160$
The mv7 is a nice mic, basically the usb sm7b personally its a little too warm for me but a lot of people love the warmth. Some actually prefer the usb sound over the xlr on that one interestingly enough
For vocal recordings I prefer condenser mics, so for a similar price but xlr, the rode nt1. But if you do not have sound treated space it is better to go dynamic like the mv7, q2u, sE v7, etc
nachos do you know if tadpole mount negatively affects sound sig?
tryna decide ona mounting system
uh i haven't really dealt with tadpole much but i assume it would be similar to how burger mounting a top/bottom mount board would affect the sound
prob gonna stick with top then
kinda want it somewhat bouncy but gummy isnt an option since its alice
and i dont wanna do gasket tbh
alu plate sounds so good tho
and we're gonna use mechlovin pcb
we could do half plate or pp plate idk
relieve cuts near mounting points may help too
which pcb?
half plate adds a ton of flex, even with the flex cuts taped on my plain60 with alu half plate i can hit the bottom of the case by pushing down
but my full pc with untaped 1.2mm pcb hardly flexes
Compatible with Alice-style boards that use a centered USB-C or Mini-USB connector (please note that certain boards like TGR Alice and Nunu only take Mini-USB PCB) Powered by APM32F103 MCU Programmable via QMK and VIA Underglow RGB Rotary encoder support (on all three top-left cluster keys) USB Type-C (Top-sided) or Mi
its on the thicker side
dont wanna get a commission a pcb so sticking with wats available
ah an alice board
huh alice plates have interesting mounting points because the curve
stiff spacebars
did one of you design it or commission?
we did a rough sketch of the exterior in fusion then commissioned a friend to refine and do internal/mounting system
hali is doing all the hardwork lol
what do the designs look like?
alice as of now we jus decided on toblerone weight and small weight like the one above
but internal weight will probably be shaped to follow alphas instead of being a regular bar
the toblerone weight is going to be funky to get good tolerances maybe
ye maybe, nothing is really set in stone as of now so we're messing with ideas
i was thinking about getting a tkl done with lz re side profile or similar to hiney's board
sheesh
i wanna do grill bottom for one of my boards
and the seam on that is nice
ima fan of it
grill bottom looks nice but not a big fan of the area where it meets the screwholes
or bumpons
i wanna try grill bottom + weight but i dont wanna do jane bottom
might jus scrap the idea as a whole
i also wanna do something similar to internal cl weight kinda
where theres a trim weight around the main weight
i assume you mean cloudline and not 356cl
i feel like the jane bottom is a little too busy, but like how they did the ce internal weight
it's over the alphas yeah
we're gonna aim for something like this for internal weight
but the outer cutout will jus show a bar
prob will be ss too since i wanna do pink ano
1895U is a nice pantone for pink, noxary used it for one of his 60s
was gonna do 699u
or c
cant remember
and our manu isnt really known for insane ano or anything so it might be slight dif
testing our luck with a smaller place oppose to something like dds or some
dds is pretty expensive isn't it
kinda tempted to get a backpiece similar to this on my tkl and have it brushed, kneedeep does it so well https://www.instagram.com/p/CY6avlfMi-p/
Hi
And dds quote was like 200 more than current manu
And it's cheap asf to run dif colors / engravings
200 overall
We didn't discuss running dif colors/engravings either so that could of been more
it's been a long time
my audio has come a long way
I have my Sundaras, 6XXs, rebelamp
and my pride and joy, the 800Ss 😄
Sundaras gang
oh i still haven't gotten an audio upgrade yet
All I use are iems really
i just switch between headphones and iems randomly
are there any differences between these
cant really tell by the image but one may be open back while the other is closed
idr know what the diff is
well
i can guess what the physical diff is
but idk what it causes
if youre in an isolated environment, id go with open back
itll leak out noise more but you prob will get better soundstage
wedge
yeh
they were off an og 1800 board so 6u bottom row, i like the cmyw mods a lot on the bottom row after using them more
No numpad
Get separate numpad

any budget recommendations lol
or just get an 1800 board lol
can some one tell me good mechanical full keyboard for gaming under 100 bucks
wtf
that looks so cursed
jsut get either keychrons or better, leopold
mechanicalkeyboards . com ships on usa for free i think
not sure
but is prob cheap enough anyways so
Is there actually any problem with me using my dell kb1421 for gaming?
Because I don't like mech keyboards
Most gaming keyboards don't make you "better" at gaming it's mainly about comfort that can make you "better"
Whatever is most comfortable to you is best
Obviously latency matters in terms of peripherals also but most of the time it's not a noticeable difference
^
bout to fight whoever made this layout
I'm using a 15 year old keyboard that came with my mom's hp windows xp computer, so no a gaming keyboard is not a necessity
im using a 10 year old one that came with a computer at my dad's work
and i have used a couple of different mech keyboards and i dont like how the actuation isnt right at the bottom of the press
hey does anyone know if there is like pudding keycaps but fully of the Translucent part, i can find any but they would look really good
what does this mean; the entire keycap is translucent?
yea that’s what i was looking for
pom jelly exists but idk how well rgb goes through it
the rgb goes through really nice
somewhere in my closet
lmao
i will say, with pudding keycaps, typically the legending is quite poor and they are thin
they are thin obviously because they want rgb to go through (and its cheaper)
ZA13-B with discontinued Agile Paracord and BTL Grips
how are the grips
its kind of like a hybrid between the Razer grips and Lizard skins
its sticky for the first few days
but it begins to dry out after a week or so, but retains gripiness
bet bet, i got some grips that are otw
waiting on cny to end inna like a day to ship out my order
Alright as of tonight I’m in the new market for a headset, wireless, and surround sound would be great, I love my Logitech Keyboard and mat, and would love to get a Logitech headset and mouse to top it off
i just have razer viper ultimate from amazon
productivity or gaming mouse?
hi leyo
Gaming, really like the G502 Hero
The freewheel is nice, it would take some getting used to
and you just wanna go wireless?
To keep the clutter down, less cables and such yeah, it would be nice tbh
I’ve got a lot of other stuff on my mind and need to try and sleep, I may look around tommorow
G305 is a good entry point and easy on the wallet too, with the caveat that its battery powered
G703 is a great shape but it uses the first iteration of the HERO sensor which is power hungry and drains the battery faster than other wireless Logitech G mice
G303 Shroud Edition is fantastic but the shape is super niche and can only work if you pincher claw
G Pro X Superlight is the safest choice out of the bunch since the shape is super inoffensive but its $$$$
anyways those are my thoughts on some wireless Logi mice TLDR version @sharp sun
hi welcome back

idk who that someone is
but also is there viper uptimate tape that covers the side
becuase my pinky sometimes slips and hits side button
and thats not good
i love my RVU
super glossy from all the wear and tear
i might honestly get another copy because my copy has the V1 switches which are super mushy and has the squeaky issue
Skiptrace
i got mine for like 88$ on amazon
including the charger stand
yeah theyre still on sale now
$85 on my Amazon
the FK shape is stil great for my relax claw but will probably spend that money trying out another shape tbh
i've clawed a palmgrip mouse for a long time so my pinky likes to rest high
but compared to my okd mouse its also alot lighter and alot smoother
also cut right
iirc Amazon also carries BTL Grips but idk about precuts for the RVU
Corepad grips are cheaper at 9.99 but they have no designs just black/white
black and blue looks not bad
alot of other things would look better on white but i have black viper
i definitely do not suggest going for light colors unless you have the habit of washing your hands everytime before you sit down on ur desk
light colored grips get dirty easily
yeah i learned that with my gray mousepad
its 9 dollars on x-raypad if youre willing to wait for China shipping times
LMAO
not including shipping tho
ngl it looks sick
eva grip for my phantom
big baller lance
started off with the viper mini lol
oh and are you familiar with speakers, might get a cheap sub 200 setup bc im lowkey going in blind on this stuff
unfortunately i am not
rip
im debating if i wanna jus get simple active speakers and not worry about it
or get a cheap passive setup and possible fall in the rabbit hole again
oh dino is back
whats a good headset for gaming?
hi wangson
that is relatively cheap
based pro csgo enjoyer
do you need the headset mic
if so, PC38x or Clouds
yeah i need the mic
from the handful of gaming audio ive tried those are the only ones i can tolerate
oh well that changes everything
yeah
im currently using corsair hs45 but the headband snapped and its held together with liquid nails
the thing about gaming headsets is that if you go with any established brand and you only use it for gaming, ypu most likely won't have a bad experience
would IEMs be viable to use
