gmmk pro still stuck at a facility for processing and kbd67 lite is being made in china

swift lantern
#

and this means?

queen sigil
#

do u need to know

amber oracle
#

those used to be very very rare here

#

outside of server rooms ofc

daring zenith
#

Usually so cheap though

tight pulsar
amber oracle
#

aye aye

amber oracle
timber ridge
#

my school's computer lab was filled with dell membrane kbs

tight pulsar
#

is there a main pc/server company over there like dell is here?

amber oracle
#

HP was silly big back then

tight pulsar
#

also yeah any place with a lot of computers such as libraries or schools had a few dozen of those lol

amber oracle
#

but the consumer side was served by smaller companies in general

tight pulsar
#

gotcha

amber oracle
#

a good example of that is the main library in the town i grew up in. the roughly 20 public machines for internet access etc was supplied by a local company

#

as in, the library paid them to build them etc etc

tight pulsar
#

ah ic

amber oracle
#

and that was fairly normal back then

tight pulsar
#

most of the places here just get all in ones from large companies like hp or dell

amber oracle
#

aye

#

because dell/hp have a homebase in the US

tight pulsar
#

yea

#

not in very northern europe haha

will a 1660s handle 1440p 165hz? I mostly play on low/med settings

gloomy berry
#

Mmmmm, gonna be tough

#

My 2060 had a hard time with that, takes a bit of GPU to push 1440p at that res. Low/Med MIGHT be OK

boreal heath
#

or should i get 1080p 240hz

#

I just want to have a good monitor in case i upgrade. andd 1440p is better

gloomy berry
#

I'd say 1080p more reasonable but at 240hz you'll be leaning on CPU more than GPU

boreal heath
#

would 1440p just not work well?

gloomy berry
#

Takes a lot more GPU power to push pixels that fast at 1440p

#

I'd recommend for that a 2060+

boreal heath
#

ok ty

swift lantern
#

1440p ultra hard for a 2060

#

perfectly fine for esports

boreal heath
swift lantern
#

for esports titles probably but not for cinematic stuff

#

up to you

boreal heath
#

idk I have many conflicting opinions rn

#

some say 1440p some say 1080p

#

idk whats best for me

swift lantern
#

personally I'd get 1440p even if my gpu wasn't quite up to snuff yet because the gpu will be outdated before the monitor

boreal heath
#

So lets say i have the 1440p what would happen

#

like what makes some ppl say no to 1440p with 1660s

#

would my frames be low?

Anyone able to help me set up a USB printer? I'm about to through the damn printer through a wall

timber ridge
west hornet
#

i only ever had network printers, but i’d assume you need drivers or software for the printer

#

somewhere in settings, devices, printers, add printer something like that

viral orchid
#

Drivers are installed and up to date

#

Its flat not recognizing that the USB is connected to the printer

gloomy berry
#

SOmetimes you have to install the software first

#

They don't all show the minute you plug them in

#

Grab the software for it and install it while plugged in

little crater
#

another big brain move is to use the default windows devices and printer install wizard

have that detect usb printer

tight pulsar

huh theres a surprising lack of blank 6.25u spacebars, theres a few on ebay/ali/that stuff, or i'd just grab a dsa one for cheapish on pimpmykeyboard, they have a lot of options, or put a listing up on mm (their server has a channel looking for a few keys such as a spacebar or similar, should be a decent amount of people that use 7u and have a spare 6.25

i dont really have a tape measure that measures CM

timber ridge

mmm

does your hand seem big or small to u lol

#

and u can use a ruler

rare raft
#

i dont have a ruler and its big for my age per say i can measure inches and do the conversions of you would like

timber ridge
#

yea thatll do

rare raft
#

as for grip i catch myslef doing this one alot

timber ridge
#

xm1r is really the best go to for claw grip

rare raft

so i dont need to do the conversions

timber ridge
#

if you use claw grip, there should be no adjusting

rare raft

what do you mean

timber ridge

oooo i misread ur msg

#

you can still do the conversion

#

if your hand is tiny, i might have to pick another mouse

rare raft

its 19cm long and 10 wide of i did my conversions right Sick

timber ridge

xm1r still then

rare raft

and hey one last question

timber ridge

ask as many as u want lol

rare raft

do you think the k683a will work with the current boom arm i have for my snowball

it should and if it doesnt, you might jus need an adapter

i just have a cheap 20$ one currently

maybe around like 50$ 🤷‍♂️

maybe a bit more

just within the area

timber ridge

not that many options but im p sure innogear has one

rare raft

depends on where youre mounting it tbh

if youre wrapping ur mic over your monitor or have a huge desk , id go large

rare raft

wait is there much of a difference with the XM1r and the XM1

timber ridge

im p sure the r version is a revision with updated sensors

youre seeing reseller's price rn

rare raft

sorry im confused again

timber ridge

regular price is 60, but since its sold out everywhere, ppl are selling it much more

#

when it officially restocks, it''ll be 60 or watever its listed at

rare raft

it does say they are available on their site

timber ridge
#

they should be 60

#

theyre jus sold out everywhere

rare raft
#

thats weird

timber ridge
#

ohh, are you in EU

rare raft
#

no it just shows it as i am

#

idk why it only shows on their site

timber ridge

in the USA version, it didnt allow me to order from them

rare raft

weird

#

it shows i can here and i just went of the link you sent earlier

timber ridge

i mean, if the price is right, id jus order from there

#

xm1 non r variant isnt bad

rare raft

So what are you saying?

xm1r is better but the non r variant isnt bad

Anyone know of a decent wifi card for sub $20? I don’t need it to be able to carry internet speeds of over 500 mbps

daring zenith
#

Uh

#

30$ is easy, 20$ gets you wacky things

chrome whale
#

Or like 25 ish

#

Maybe 30

#

I just don’t want a 40 dollar wifi card that’s meant for people with 1000 mb internet

#

I live in the mountains and so my internet is only like 30 mb so I don’t need the best of the best

sly warren
#

Wifi isn't just about internet. If you want to transfer data between devices, a faster wifi card can help

#

Also, just use Ethernet

weary moat
#

WiFi is for LAN. It has nothing to do with WAN.

sweet ore
#

Sometimes it isn't possible to use Ethernet. Like, if your PC is in a different room than the router and you can't convince the owner of the house it's worth it to run a cable between rooms (especially if it may involve putting holes in walls).

sly warren
#

Powerline Ethernet

#

As long as your house has semi-decent wiring. You can use Powerline Ethernet.

#

It takes 2 little boxes, plug ethernet into both ends and voila you have ethernet using your houses power runs.

swift lantern
#

Just get a long cable like I did

weary moat
#

I haven't used Powerline, but it's still probably better than WiFi.

That being said, I use WiFi for everything "portable" and have had no issues, though I don't game on anything "portable" besides the Switch, and I'd use Ethernet on the Switch if it had enough USB ports for me to use an adapter.

sly warren
#

It does with the Dock

#

There's 3 USB ports on the dock

#

1 in the back, and 2 on the side.

#

Use the one on the back with the official Hori USB to Ethernet Adapter

swift lantern
#

Do they not also make power line wifi extenders

weary moat
#

Ah.

#

I didn't see those two ports on the back.

sly warren
#

Those extenders suck

timid crown
# sly warren Powerline Ethernet

Powerline is great most of the time. In my old house I tried using it and speeds were worse than a usb wifi card. I'm not sure if we ever figured out the exact reasoning but it had something to do with how power was run in my house. Powerline worked great in each room but barely worked at all between rooms

gloomy berry
#

Yup. This is often the case. Uas to go through the breaker panel to get to other rooms. Interference abounds....

swift lantern
#

how electricity make internet

timid crown
#

Yea that's actually a solid question I don't know the science of how powerline works at all

sly warren
#

Basically as far as I know: The Ethernet Signal is being "buried" inside the AC Power Signal. There's tiny spikes and dips inside the larger AC signal that are where the Ethernet Signal exists.

gloomy berry
#

Not really, ethernet different frequency. Ac power wires arent shielded and receive inteference from neighboring wires.

sly warren
#

???

gloomy berry
#

Itsnnot being buried its an entirely different frequency

#

Once it gets to the breaker panel to go to another room interence happens

odd sable
#

where do you buy things on the ducky website

#

i dont see any buy option

Because ac wires arent shielded

I don't think you can buy a keyboard directly from Ducky.

odd sable

#

where do you buy it then

like if they display it on the website why not buy

sly warren

Because Ducky isn't a seller.

They just make the boards.

swift lantern

running a storefront is it's own cost

I'd start with a pair of Koss UR40's or Koss Porta Pros.

sly warren
#

Yes, that much.

daring zenith

Depends on what you call GOOD but yea

#

They can cost thousands

sly warren

You gotta buy a speaker amp, and the speakers themselves.

steep pelican

I mean other stuff is required for these but afaik they are pretty decent

sly warren

Yeah, and by the time you get an amplifier of any worth, it's about 1.5K USD

weary moat
#

I thought I was snooty.

sly warren
#

You aren't snooty, standard 3.5mm speakers just blow butt.

#

You can get vastly better sounding headphones for an 800 dollar budget than you can speakers.

#

You can get a pair of HD600's, and a Schiit stack for around 600 USD

#

And that's effectively the peak of what most people will ever buy.

weary moat
#

I have an SMSL SA50 that was about $60 or something and a pair of those Pioneer speakers designed by Andrew Jones that I got on sale for like... $80, and they're fine.

Granted, I have a Topping DX7 Pro that I use as a headphone amp / preamp for the speakers

#

and AKG K702 65th's Annies.

#

for headphones.

sly warren
#

Yeesh, K702's are like ancient relics. I'd consider upgrading to something a bit nicer sounding.

#

HD 560S's would go pretty well with that DX7 Pro

swift lantern
weary moat

I'm happy enough with what I've got to not throw hundreds more at another set of cans I rarely use anyway. I normally just use the speakers at my desk, or the Arctis Pro Wireless if I need to walk around doing something while listening to something in the background.
