I have an older 8mm tape video camera and it has a firewire port on it. I'd like to capture footage using my newer Windows 10 laptop, but of course it doesn't have a firewire port. @outer minnow yes, something like that, but I've read that those don't work because the firewire and USB protocols are different. It would have to be something that had a chipset inside that could convert the protocol so it would work properly.
