Edit, saw the earlier pics, that's FireWire
Could somone help me with phone peripherals?
Maybe a portable charger too if you need it
#microsoft wireless 2000 keyboard
I am having a problem with my pair of steelseries arctis 7 not charging, is there anyone who could help me?
Try this @ivory pumice https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/steelseries/comments/77o9aj/arctis_7_do_not_charge/
@raw iris Thanks, this helped a lot, I got it resolved!
@ivory pumice anytime
so I'm a bit confused
I bought 2 Ducky one 2 keyboards
one's TKL, the other is full size
both with cherry MX brown switches, both bought from the same place
but they feel different
I don't feel as much tacticle feedback from the full size keyboard as I did from the TKL
maybe one was used?
no both are definitely brand new
unless they do some kind of an incredible re-packaging job
It's only been a couple of months between when I bought them too
i mean i bought a new AIO off of amazon and what came was an old used AIO
I understand that's possible, but both still appear completely new, and had that "new keyboard smell" coming out the box
somebody bought it, swappd out their old one, and returned the old one to get a free aio
hm
alright
just putting out that possibility
I also didn't buy them from amazon, and I'd expect a dedicated mechanical keyboard website to be a bit better than that
ah okay
honestly the only reason I bought the full size one is because how amazing the TKL ducky felt, so I kinda expected the same, but now I feel kind of let down by the full sized one
it's not bad, but it feels a lot like the corsair keyboard I had before, and not as nice as the TKL ducky
you could always try exchanging it
Wonder if one board has o rings installed on it for some reason?
It could be the extra weight of the keyboard being the factor changing the feel. Considering it is quite a bit of a different feedback with more overall weight on the keyboard since it's not tkl
I have a MK disco TKL which is essentially a ducky one and it doesn't have as much tactile feel as I expected from browns either. Mine was used, but still looked new and also had orings installed. All my other mechanical keyboards have reds so my only comparison for browns are a few I have seen at stores. Have you checked to see if one of them has o rings. That can change the feel of the keyboard quite a bit. My MK came with blue orings but I removed them and put them on my corsair that I use on my main rig and the MK feels much more tactile after that.
What's a great value headset with 7.1 surround sound and is very comfortable? I'm having trouble finding one that I like. I like the A20's but it doesn't seem like they have surround sound (could be mistaken)
7.1 surround sound is a figment of your imagination
so what you are saying is, don't look for headsets with it because its not worth it?
pretty much
hmmm got any recommendations for $150 or less headsets that are comfortable?
i havent used too many headsets
but
the ones i have right now is the xbox stereo headset
it broke, but i was rough with it
i taped it back together and it still works
but its very comfortable and it sounds good
legit im using a $25 Sades headset lol and it is dying so i thought it might be time for an upgrade
yeah
i gotta get new ones soon too, i wanted wireless ones tho
because wired is uhhhhhhhhhh starting to get annoying lol
oohhh i want those
I hear the void pro has a crap battery tho
i think @grizzled flint said something like if you turn off the rgb it lasts a lot longer
My battery will last maybe 3 or 4 hours with the rgb on, with it off it will easily go 8 hours sometimes 10+ depending on the volume
rgb on wireless headphones is totally just for marketing or a streamer with a camera pointing back at them
well, the rgb on the back can light up the wall at least
like the aorus monitors
I don't want rgb anything shining on the front of my monitor other than the pixels
and your disco ball 😛
There was an asus monitor that had it shining on a strip across the bottom of the monitor and that would just be distracting
Ah, disco balls. I had a small one hanging from my rear view in my car in high school
If you want good comfort, high quality audio and microphone, get yourself sennheiser game one, or similar
i was less than impressed with the mic quality on those, but ymmv
my beyerdynamic mx300s are very nice
i have a huge head and they fit, and don't feel like they're being ripped apart like most other headsets i've used
Those are a bit beyond the $150 budget he posted.
Any known good screen capture with high quality photos, like basically offline Gyazo
and saves to your selected folder
Nvrm I now use Game Bar to save screen captures.
Dear Cabal Emperor @sand quarry I've personally had bad experiences with Steelseries therefore I don't recommend it but other have had positive experiences with them, someone told me their mice are good so they might have improved their build quality
I have a K95 Platinum Keyboard no regrets at all
Thanks for your info, i've been looking for a longer lasting one because right now I've got a razer
is the k95 a corsair
yeah is their flagship keyboard, it's a full size with some dedicated macro keys if you don't need those then the K70 will do just fine make sure to check out the MKII for the K70 which is newer but yeah great build quality really happy with it tbh
Alright cool I'll be sure to keep an eye on those
Get yourself a ducky
@heady pilot Sharex is a fantastic screen capture utility.
Lot of nice features https://puu.sh/EsA8n/46b7ad57fe.gif
I dropped that thing
Cause I tried changing thumbnail to get a higher quality then somehow the hotkey did not work
I use Gamebar screen capture. Works fine. At some point I might want to learn how to use Sharex @calm cobalt
when your free..
Hey Guys I'm looking for a Good Budget Gaming Membrane Keyboard. Right now I have the Red Imp Keyboard but i've had it for a few years and the keys are starting to get stuck and I a new mouse also I have a 5 year old mouse thats starting to have difficulty responding
Please help!
About the keyboard..if it's removable keys then it can be cleaned. Unless its a memebrane keyboard well welp.
@cedar steppe This is a good budget gaming keyboard/mouse combo https://www.newegg.com/p/32N-0003-00003
If you were to go for a budget mechanical keyboard/mouse combo there is this one https://www.newegg.com/p/32N-0003-00065
The only other i would suggest as well cause i am using it is this one https://www.newegg.com/p/32N-0052-00051
So you mainly have 3 choices right there and even if you have a good enough working mouse i find those combo's are worth it because you would have a back up mouse
That's not a mechanical keyboard though, it's a "mechanical feel"
Well in other words it is a memchanial keyboard
Sounds really fake tbh, especially shipping directly from China
I'd avoid things like that
@lusty pendant cooler master also makes those kinds of keyboards
@lusty pendant I don't want a mech keyboard I like membrane for gaming Better
but I'll check those out @unique bane Thanks
np
@cedar steppe Mem chanical keyboards gives you the performance of a mechanical but the feel of a membrane
yeah thats the kind of keyboard I have now
But its gonna be hard to find one with the same quality of this one @unique bane It has rgb and a metal plate in it to weight it down and its completely water proof I only paid 25 bucks for it
@cedar steppe the 3rd link i posted they keyboard never really moves unless i really move it and is also water proof
nice I've heard good things about red dragon but been kind of Hesitant
I'll check them out the red in black scheme would go with my rig
i bought the gamer bundle which also comes with the mouse pad and headset which the headset is pretty good
2.1 audio
nice
thanks for the help i'll definitely check it out
https://www.newegg.com/p/32N-0026-000P3 You mean this one @unique bane
yep but i paid less cause it was on special
how is a g413
i’d say compared to other choices, it’s not the best
romer g’s aren’t that great
theres the gmmk, razer huntsman te, gk61, gk64, dz60rgb hotswap, Instant60, XD87, YC96, Polaris65, HS60, Instant60, 1upRGB, KBD67, etc
Anybody know anything about the Steelseries Sensei 310 mouse?
keyswitches are a very subjective thing, personally i rather like the romer g switches and i would recommend a keyboard with them, but with the caveat of trying various switches yourself and basing your choice on what you like and dislike
^^ I love romer g, I'm not a huge fan of clicky feeling keys
i gravitate towards mx browns/clears most, but i've also tried literally dozens of switches
i guess i should qualify that by saying i have the luxury of b&m stores by me having very nice keyboard selections so i can try many different switches
I tried Best buy so I only really got to compare a few things, some Corsair and razer keyboards. I ended up liking the G910 the most.
It's a very comfortable keyboard
i guess they must sell a lot more mech keyboards where i am cuz my best buys usually have 8-10 boards with different switches out
although they're often just clones of different switches, i.e., some of the boards are razer boards that have clones of the cherry switches
most people tend to hate romer Gs and browns
because they aren't quite mechanical romer Gs especially
they feel more like membranes
and cherry browns are incredibly scratchy
kailh box is what I see many enthusiasts go with
most of them hate cherry switches
my brown/clear boards have not felt like a membrane keyboard for a fraction of a second
they're definitely not as...mechanical as blues or other heavy switches but they feel nothing like membranes imo
I was referring to romer Gs especially in that sentence
'browns are just poorly engineered and scratchy' -quote from a keyboard enthusiast
honestly what other people like isn't that relevant, it's what you like
I prefer membrane myself to be fair
I luckily have a good membrane board that works nearly flawlessly after 9 or so years
people should try as many switches as they reasonably can, but i know not everyone can go into a store and try a full keyboard (because the key testers don't give you the full story of how a switch feels when installed in an actual board)
that is not uncommon, but i cringe every time i have to type on a membrane keyboard after using mechs for a decade+
just goes back to finding what each person likes, and thankfully there's an (overwhelming) number of options for mech switches
whatever "keyboard enthusiast" claims that browns are "poorly engineered and scratchy" needs to get their head out of their butt and realize that different people like different things
to me any linear switch isn't deserving of a mechanical keyboard
i can't agree more, i am a "gamer" and i cannot stand for a fraction of a second linear keys
but that's my opinion, and I'm not going to go and tell people not to get a switch they like
and browns for me are the best switch
because blues are too loud
i can see why some would say they're scratchy, but that's not how i would describe them
clears are a nice middle ground, but hard to find if you like the feel of browns but want something heavier
I've never gotten to try clears or romer g's
the romer g's are nice, but they're not super groundbreaking or mindblowing
there's also another point to be brought up - not all of the same switch are created equal
but the clears are closer to blues in weight with a little more feel of browns
in terms of the "graininess"
browns in my ducky one 2 feel way different from browns in my corsair k70
yeah, a keyboard with or without a backplate, or o-rings will make them feel like they're entirely different
overall any switch can be good for you, it all depends on what you like your keyboard to feel and sound like
yup
is the elgato key light any good fro streaming anddoing youtube videos ?
@young crown It would be 10 times cheaper to build your own computer desk
fair enough
@crude saffron it's pretty good. Especially since you can control the brightness and temperature of the light ( more blue vs more yellow )
@young crown Did you see my desk?
nope
I have a lot of stuff
I like the old-school controllers
LOL i just realized we have the same speakers
@upbeat bloom You can get them here https://www.8bitdo.com/ and it looks like they release a new controller for the Switch which is quite different and i want to try it
@upbeat bloom do you think its worth it ?
Hmmmm TBH you can prob just buy a standard softbox set for about the same price or even less and you'd get 2 units.
But softboxes take space.
If you have a small area, then get the elgato.
yah i have quite big areea but my lights arnt the best at night
I would then recommend a softbox..l
yeah i dont want a softbox tho i like how the elagto key light looks and stuff and how it attaches
on the desk
i have seena few youtube vidoe abbout it and trish aswell
and i think it would look really good with my setup and stuff
What's a decent, budget keyboard for a person new to being a PC gamer? I'm trying to put together a build for my little brother because his 15th birthday is coming up in 2 weeks and I'm building him a PC
define budget @onyx stump
Ehhhh, within $40
Razer cynosa great keybaord for the price it has RGB Too
@onyx stump redragon has the best mechanical keyboards for under the price of 40 dollars without sacrificing the actual feel of mechanical switches
nuclear nachos sent one of the best budget keyboards out there
im pretty amazed with my corsair strife.
one time, I left a half full (or half empty) pepsi can next to it woke up and my son had poured it out on it 😐
wife tried to clean it up and not tell me.. turned on pc to weird ish lights.
dang.
is your son a teenager?
no he was like 1.
my fault for leaving the can out
but long story short, I broke it apart, soaked in alcohol
oh man
let dry, put back together, all is good
and I had just got it, was like maybe a month old
much stress.
lol
I personally hate blue switches with a passion so I'd never reccomend them to anyone who doesnt want to have Vietnam flashbacks of switch clicks in their sleep
doesnt matter
your preferences arent the same with someone else's
its all down to the person and what they like, no one else can really recommend switches to others
i love blue alps and buckling springs
That's why I said personally...
i like the thocc thocc topre boys
to further reinforce the personal preference and "try some out before you buy" (not that i'm knocking your taste in topre switches) i think the topre switches feel mushy
so you can come here and get some really good non-answers to your question 🙃
oh no topre are too expensive for me
I like me some good tactiles, and I’m getting T1’s for my keyboard
topre are too expensive
*tactile
do you guys have any recommendations for a 60% mechanical keyboard with RGB
Anne pro 2, pok3r rgb, gmmk compact, ducky one 2 mini rgb
dz60rgb, Instant60, 1upkeyboards’ hotswap pcb if you aren’t afraid to go custom @zenith burrow
Geek gk61 hotswap...possibly the cheapest 60% hotswap kb. Uses gat optical which are not only cheap but very good considering there activation distance is very low
yeah, but the software is terrible and it’s optical switches for $10 less than the gmmk
The gmmk is like $110 the gk 61 is $45
Also optical switches are a plus, they last longer, are more responsive, and cheaper
the barebones gmmk is $60
and there are only 5 different optical switches on the market, compared to the dozens of normal ones
so for $15 more, you get software that can key map, do layers, and a bunch others and supports nearly any switch, from hp’s to cherry to gaterons
I know the base is $60 but then youd have to buy switches and caps, so 30-40 more (on the low end)
The gk is $45 with switches and caps
So imo a better value, it's obviously not gonna be as quality but yeah
In your guys opinion, what’s the best curved gaming monitor with g sync?
what resolution/refresh rate/panel type/budget @last trellis
FHD is 1080p, 144 or 244 (Doesn’t matter), idk what panels r but I liked my Lenovo y27g re gsync monitor a lot, and budget doesn’t matter
Would like it to be 27 inch if possible but doesn’t matter a ton
I used to own a 768p 29" and it was just fine. It depends on your sensitivity to things.
27" 1080p isn't too bad. While you can notice a downgrade from 1440p at that size, it's not too significant.
27" for 1080p is fine when you get to 32" for 1080p then you can tell people how bad that is
depends on how close you sit as well. I sit about arms length from my monitor, so around 30 inches, and anything larger than a 24" at 1080p and I can see the pixels.
average person usually sits between 2 to 3 feet away from their monitor
and if you have a chair that can recline back then that would be like an extra foot
I sit just far back enough to have a dabbing radius
U gotta hav room to dab wen u get Dem fortnut wins, ya know dawg?
looks decent
Gewd. Sold my PS4 and my games for about $230. Those two things together was $109 (rounded up)
Looks pretty good for the price, not familiar with that headset though, did you get a mouse too?
No idea why you would sell your console for a keyboard and a headset
ye lmao
I honestly believe you could of traded your PS4 with the games for a 2060S and then sell that for like 350$ instead
I didn't sell my console for a keyboard and a headset, I sold it for a keyboard, headset, and a rx 570 for them to be able to play some form of games on their pc
Also got the premium edition of mk11, but I walked out with $230, then used all that for those.
Figured it's a good deal for a well-used console and games that I never play anymore
I dont know if this would be the exact appropriate area to discuss headsets and audio, but I keep having this issue where I keep getting random distorted static sounds from my headset. It is a Steelseries Arctis 3, and I have already tested it on my phone and my other PC to make sure it wasn't the headset itself. I have done some research and cant seem to find a solution. I think it may be something with either the drivers or a dying soundcard. A dying soundcard would suck because I have a Gaming Laptop (Pretty garbage specs, but a dead soundcard means dead logic board, and basically new laptop, if I understand right.) So I am shooting for a driver issue or other?
What is odd is that it only seems to happen when I fullscreen a game, I play Rainbow Six Siege, so when the static goes spaz, it is a bit of a pain.
Or when I launch a game
Do you get a framerate drop at the same time as the distortion?
My friend and I have both been having that happen lately, think it might have something to do with win10 or nvidia drivers
I will check
It makes sense, because it seems to happen when it swaps from my Intel Graphics to the 860M in my laptop
So anyone have good 27 inch 1080p monitors?
My old one looked fine, but then again it was like a 700$+ monitor
And not sure if this is the right area to ask, but does anyone know some good L desks?
Also, price does not matter for either of those, the desk could be a couple thousand
don't you just love when you cleaned your keyboard and it's drying so you have to use a backup and wanna kys
haven't done that yet. but if it feels like that i might just want to not clean my keyboard
but i really do need to clean my keyboard lol
I like how Corsair has that really nice brushed finish but the dust collection...
Anyone have a good suggestion for a Bluetooth adapter?
Honestly most USB Bluetooth dongles are the same.
Are there any that take audio input from a headphone jack? I have a decent soundcard that does absolutely nothing rn.
probably just get a cheap dongle anyway tho
What’s a good web cam for a decent price?
c920 and c922
Anyone have reccomendations for a mic?

😊
@last trellis I'll recommend XLR personally
Big room for upgrade with an XLR setup
And $20 XLR mics sound better than $100 USB mics
You just need more things to set up an XLR mic
Ok
could anyone recommend a tkl or 60% keyboard with cherry mx reds for around $100 usd?
ping me pls
@solid mauve

@solid mauve gateron reds work too?
ew reds are ass
i guess gaterons are ok
some people don't like tactiles or clicky
ngl the anne is a cracked keyboard
i have blues rn but they are just so damn loud and annoying
wydm @modern kayak
oh yeah its pretty nice
im building one rn
just waiting for the gmmk compact to go on sale so i can grab it and T1's
i had the gmmk compact
how is it?
like the software or what
oh
im just buying the barebones and putting custom switches+keycaps
and the clicks are aggressive as
asf
not from the switch
just when i click down it hits the metal base
hmm idk what would cause that
i might see if other 60% ones go on sale
but my keycaps get here in like 2.5 weeks so i have time
ill check them out
with what switches tho
and I was trying to find a hot swappable one because this would be my first time soldering switches in, didn’t want to ruin a board
I'm saying for the link you gave the guy
wait you gotta build the keyboard??
no
nuclear is buying a hotswap base board and adding his own switches and keycaps
vs
What do you use arrow keys for?
https://www.amazon.com/HK-Gaming-Mechanical-Illuminated-Programmable/dp/B07QYHPCHD/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=geek%2Bgk61&qid=1572907779&sr=8-1&th=1
This is what I plan on getting, I'll probably replace the keycaps and paint the case too at some point
@young crown you clearly haven’t learned about layers
OH
thats where they are
wow
imagine having to press an extra button to use the arrow keys smh my head
Imagine actually using the arrow keys on a normal day
zack would never survive with a 40%
theres a 40%??
oh lord
i google image searched it
its terrible
WHY ARE THERE TWO SPACE BARS
why would you not want your keypad attached.
cause I don’t need it and I don’t have a lot of desk space
I just looked at the full size pic, burn it with fire
I can't deal with the keys being in the wrong place
^
that backspace key placement disgusts me
WHERES THE ENTER KEY
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I am 40 years old and I manage to screw up on the same keyboard layout I have been using for 20+ years
is this like a personal attack or something
I totally imagine that after about 20 minutes with that keyboard I would snap it in half and throw it in the trash
lmao
hmmmmm
qwertyuiop keyboard were designed for typewriters so the keys wouldnt get jammed
yeah
a new keyboard, the Dvorak keyboard, was designed for pure speed, but it never naught on
caught*
at least they can put their caps lock and enter keys in the right place
i wanna learn the dvorak keyboard
see if its faster
but
i dont have a dvorak keyboard
Oh god I would hate that
everytime I use a tv or something that has the keys in alphabetical order it makes die a little inside
also its sad that I have to search for letters on an alphabetical order keyboard
zack can probably only type at 4 wpm
Mmhmm

🤔
i bet zack's so unsmart with keyboard he doesn't even know the secret space bar position
😮
the 180 wpm was on an easier lesson
shhh @mortal walrus
🤐
here try this zack https://kbdhero.com/
Take a free typing test and play the typing game. Practice touch typing and speed typing. How to measure cpm and wpm in english and svenska.
all the typing tests suck because they all handle missed letters differently
I think at my best I was around 90 wpm in high school
just took that test and got 45
my first was like 65
I have always been able to type faster from hearing something than reading it
yea
I was hitting low 90s in middle school im in high school now and I average like mid 80s
I don't even have to use my keyboard, I just look at it and it types for me
@tight pulsar I hate that typing test purely because of the the font and color choice of the text...it just annoys me how hard it is to read
you can barley read ahead because the text in thin light grey and the background is a darker grey
@fallow glacier I don't even look i just think and it types for me 😛
I am make word
If I go with a USB mic, should I go with the Blue Yeti or the AT2020, or smth completely different?
really nice controller, really good for games that play well (imo) on controller like mgs5, witcher 3
Reason: Bad word usage
It's H key
Luckily my house has a super glue
My fingers hurt after removing them with bit of force
Learned my lesson, never use a screwdriver to pry it out.
why would you do that wtf
you're supposed to either use your fingers or a keycap remover for the safest result and common sense lmao
well, gl
Cause I'm a first rate nub 🙃
So far I only broke one key but super glue it back on key base and it works fine
Well i'mma gonna find another keyboard that has easy remove key shells with no effort to little effort.
what brand and which keyboard was it
Any suggestions for keyboard with easy able removable key caps
Thermaltake commander
never heard of it
Ttesports one
most mechanical keyboards keycaps are simple to remove
corsair has good keyboards, logitech, hyperx, so on and so on
I guess I should invest in getting a proper tools eh?
those three are really popular companies for mechanical keyboards
most keyboards you buy usually come with a keycaps remover
thats all you need to remove keycaps
This is all I got keyboard and mouse
Cause my cousin brought it for me. Thanks I'll ask him if he has key caps remover tool
alright, if for the moment you dont have a keycap remover, use your finger to lift the bottom of the keycap and pull
best to use the tool tho have fun
Most mechanical keyboards even come with a key puller nowadays
even my $35 ReDragon did
I bet you could find a keycap remover for like $1
Plus $8 shipping
unless you buy locally
Find great deals on eBay for keycap puller. Shop with confidence.
Most are $1 or less and free shipping
Question, would an Elgado hd60s work with a pc and laptop if I were to want to stream and use my laptop for my streamlabs and pc for game?
don't those exist as separate encoding/capture cards (or dongles, in the case of the external one) so as to offload all the work to itself? i.e., just run OBS in the background which should have minimal performance impact because the encoding is done by the dongle? i ask because if you get that, why not just use one system instead of two
i see, the external one is only a capture, no encode
i'd imagine what you would do is take the hdmi out of your gaming pc into the dongle, then the dongle links into laptop and streams via that
depends what are you willing to spend
they have red and white ones aswell
red or white sorry
Thank you
no problem
i got mine off amazon and i regret buying cheap lol its not the best quality@sturdy topaz
yeah for sure you might be able to get away with like 30 to 50
i think i spent like 15 on mine and i should've bought something better lmao
yeti should be heavier right? i have the razer seiren
I think i should get one that has like a screen thing for the mic and mic shocker thing
Yeah its heavy
Oh ok thanks
np
Great boom arm I might get this my blue yeti
anyone got advice on a microphone? Don't need anything crazy, I'm not a streamer, just looking to use headphones rather than a headset while still being able to talk to people in voice chat
Does it have an aux jack
Finding the best gaming headset in 2019 isn't easy. But we've found a simple solution to build your own affordable budget gaming headset and it sounds AMAZIN...
No
@lusty pendant blue yeti you can listen mic and listen and talk to people are you on PC
yes I am on pc
Budget?
Preferably sub $100 but I can spend extra for quality product
whats the best softbox for streaming?
Rode NT USB mic great choice too
Hello, I am planning on buying a keyboard on Black Friday but need some help choosing one
I saw that the GMMK will be available in a kit for just $85 including a wrist rest, O rings, and a key sampler, should I get that?
I want a full size keyboard with per key RGB
Eh I heard about some long term problems with it
Got a ROG Delta Core headset
It appears to be lowering my naturally monotone voice
if I adjust my monotone to a higher pitch everyone can hear it just fine on Discord
otherwise its hard for them to hear me
I have tested it even off of Discord and the problem persists
also if I just use the mute button on the headset instead of the one on discord, people can still listen to content I am watching on youtube
Is it worth getting a sound card? I use Sennheiser headphones most of the time
@glass hinge really depends cause sound cards does help improve the sound better but depending on your sound system
I really only use the headphones now. Other than those, I do have the Logitech Z313 speaker system
lol I usually have headphones on these days with my phone playing music over a bluetooth speaker
You'd have to remember that a sound card only works from the card itself so if you plug in your headset on your front port you will get the sounds from the motherboard audio
That makes sense
I've been reading up on sound cards yesterday, supposedly an external dac/amp is actually better than an internal sound card
I’ll probably get one of those then
I'm thinking about getting one too, but there's so many different choices and I severely lack in the knowledge to pick one
@crude saffron
i use this
i have a blue snowball and it works fine, that should work with a yeti

Any good keyboards for less than. A 100 dollar
@acoustic cove
Anne Pro 2 60% Mechanical Keyboard Wired/Wireless Dual Mode Full RGB Double Shot PBT - Brown Switch https://m.newegg.com/product/9SIA4RE8FG6699?m_ver=1
a lot of people like that one and its on sale for a great price
this ones a bit more expensive but i love it
Razer Ornata Chroma - RGB Mecha-Membrane Gaming Keyboard with Mid-Height Keycaps - RZ03-02040200-R3U1 https://m.newegg.com/product/N82E16823114072?m_ver=1
i had that and sold it
i don't like mecha membrane
slowed down my reaction time in shooters so bad
wow
i remember when zack said he'd never like the ap2 and then he just recommenced it 👀
i dont have to like something to recommend it
theo recommends amd aaalllllllll the time
imo, I wouldn't go near anything not mech over $60
$100...heck no
https://www.banggood.com/Geek-GK61-60-61Keys-Gateron-Optical-Axis-RGB-Mechanical-Keyboard-Type-c-Programmable-Gaming-p-1391919.html?rmmds=search&ID=515632&cur_warehouse=CN
I'm buying this today (hotswap and optical switches)
Online Shopping at Banggood.com!
Some warnings on the gk61, the software isn’t super easy to use and can only use optical switches (nothing like gateron inks, mx blacks, kahil box whites, etc). However it is a great budget keyboard, stabs and build quality aren’t great but aren’t trash
I'm fine with using only optical, from what I've seen they tend to be better overall due to no "moving"parts
And I dont plan on putting really nice aftermarket switches in that budget of a board, just your standard red, black, blue, brown
optical switches are really just a gimmick imo
except they aren't
i mean they're cheap, but you can get gateron switches for like 25 cents a switch and work with more boards
does HDMI cable allow 240hz refresH? and how does one activate i only see 120hz on display settings
this moniter alienware aw2518hf supports 240hz
and i used the cable that comes with it
Did the box say it overclocks to that?
might have to mess with some settings
some monitors say some number and come 120 out of the box
just says 240hz
hm
press the buttons on ur monitor one of them should open a menu
that's how I got mine to 144
I navigated through the menu and there was a setting to overclock
hmm do i plug the hdmi cable into the gpu?
no just into the mobo
can i screenshare to you just to make sure i did right?
its okay it says 1080p 240hz so i think i did it right
Yeah

Could someone help me out and find an audio interface or 48V phantom power supply for a Blue Ember under 50$?
Thanks!
I’m guessing this would be the place to ask about speakers right?
yes
I don’t really expect an answer as the thing I’m going to ask about is at least 17 years old. Has anyone ever had a JVC TH-M303 and if so how did it work. My dad has one and it hasn’t been plugged in since my brother was baptized 17 years ago. I’m thinking of getting the power cables and speaker wire and putting it back up for Father’s Day. Would it be worth my time and money?
It’s 925 watts by the way. Not sure if that is peak or rma it doesn’t say.
No more than 20 years I would guess as that’s how long we have lived here.
http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/95/LVT1147-001C.pdf here is the manual for it 😛
Thanks dude
Hi! Technically incompetent person stupidly trying to get all the components for a docking station for a more technically savvy person as a gift. I'm looking for a solution and I can't figure out what to purchase... I have gotten two Dell U2415 monitors, a belkin Thunderbolt 3 mini docking station, aaaand... a 2014 macbook pro with thunderbolt 2 ports. The only 2-way adapter I could find was the apple tb 3 to tb 2 adapter, but from what I can tell, visually, I need a tb 2 male to tb 3 female. I need the 2-way for flight simulator components. Does this exist? If not, what is the best reasonably priced TB 2 docking station with 2 HDMI ports?
If this isn't the place I should be posting this, could someone please point me in the direction of the correct category?
nah you're fine.
I have no idea about docks and apple stuff though :\
I'm sure someone in here does. you'll just have to wait 😛
Okay, thank you!
or you can ask in #building-and-recc-chat that place is usually busy 😄 @misty igloo
Just cross posted. They are definitely busier!
Hey @young vine, Thank you for your help! The monitors just got delivered to my work, so my coworker set them up for me. For some reason, I thought I NEEDED a docking station to have dual monitor display. He was able to do a daisy-chain to make it work. We were only able to get one monitor working with my other coworkers computer, but I guess hers is circa 2012 and doesn't have a TB port. He said it should work fine on the 2014 and we'll test it tomorrow... Now to return the docking station. And the TB 3 to TB 2 adapter. and the cables. and the HDMI > USB adapter...
lol glad it worked out.
Are the Corsair K55 keyboard and Corsair Harpoon mouse good? I asked for that for Christmas from my grandparents and I'm hoping it's something good.
k55 is kinda meh imo, if you don't need a name brand "gaming" keyboard then you can find decent to equal quality boards for cheaper
but it is a decent keyboard (I would say try to find a mech board for that price range too)
Yeah, I really wanted to get one with Cherry mechanical switches for around $40 but we both know that ain't happening without something sketchy going on
Redragon is where cheap and decent mech keyboards are at
My problem is I want to be able to program the RGB
which is why I settled with the Corsair one. I have the Corsair Void Pro headset, so the keyboard/mouse are the cheapest Corsair ones that can sync with my headset
Quick question, anybody can answer who has this but. Does anybody know any decent quality LED Strips that are not that expensive that have bang for buck?
Great timing. Someone in #old-cooling just mentioned the WS2818/B led strips
He said to get em on ebay
looks tasty
weird question on mouse pads. Steel series Ock+ or Hyperx Fury Pad
greasy pizza napkin
Yes or no?
can anyone recommend a good 10-keyless cherry brown keyboard?
i need the insert home/page up/page down/end/delete buttons
so it cant be 60%
all the ones I really like have the 10 key
with the theft detector and everything
Yep they didn't even see it coming lol
@calm cobalt maybe Cooler Master Masterkey S
I have this keyboard in MX brown btw, it's decent
How much of a dent in the wallet are we looking at
Looks like amazon doesn't have any stocked :(
i'm desperately tying to find a quiet keeb.
so far huntsman te, logi pro or just build my own with some kind of sound dampening
Genuine cherry switches dont make much of a difference and in reality dont have many enthusiasts behind them. On top of that they are expensive and dont include some of the most liked switches
And recommended mics? My Audio Technicas don't have one.
I would get a Blue Yeti but my mom has one and it's too big.
And the V Moda boompro doesn't work with my Audio Technicas because of the 2.5 Jack.
Hmm. I don't know if that will fit either.
It looks smaller then the Blue Yeti but still kinda big.
I might just get Fidelio x2 with the V moda boompro tbh. I don't have a ton of room for a mic and I can't move a ton stuff around on my desk because of my injuries.
I might be able to mount it on my wall though, that would work really well.
looks ugly ngl
The mic or the headphones I mentioned?
I agree the mic looks a bit weird with the tripod but I think it looks better then the "gaming desktop mic" things that Amazon sells.
Any suggestions on audiophile headphones? Sennheiser I already know about but are there any other suggestions?
do Microsoft surface pens work with non surface laptop but has windows ink? thanks
The laptop would have to have a digitizer that works with the surface pen
Many laptops use Wacom aes, the surface pen is N-trig
Heck.
how do i find out, i read about it but its a bit confusing
Should I get a pair of Sennheiser headphones? Im asking because i need to finish a project. And I need to hear every mistake. I aint going Logitech for headphones again honestly. Audiophile headphones may be my best bet.
What are you using the headphones for?
Editing?
@hard fable
Also, what's your budget
do yall know why the glorious model o disconnets and reconnets
Gaming and editing. I already have an external microphone so.
150$ or below 200.
Thats my budget.
Do you want something more for gaming or more for editing?
Or something in between?
Also, open back or closed back?
If you don't know the difference, Open back is better in quieter and small rooms basically. Closed back is better for louder rooms and around people.
Audio Technica M40x or M50x would probably be good for you. There studio headphones but they work pretty well for games, music, etc.
The m40x's are $100 and are pretty flat, which is great for editing but not so great if you want more bass. The m50x's have more bass and are better for music but still good for music.
There both closed back headphones. The only thing I don't like about the (I have the m40x) is the proprietary 2.5 jack instead of the usual 3.5 jack.
If you don't need to connect a microphone to them then I wouldn't worry about it, but it's still something to look our for.
There's also the Fidelio x2 and x2hr. There both open back and a little more expensive then the Audio Technica headphones.
I would recommend either of the Audio Technica's though. There both great for the price and you'll still have money left over for stuff like memory foam earpads, a stand, extra cable, food, etc
I want a balance of basically everything
M40x would probably be the best then.
You could also go to Reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice and ask there
They would be able to give you more options then I can since I have a limited experience for now.
I mean ive been looking at sennheiser and beyerdynamic.
Yeah, I just don't know too much about Sennheiser or Beyerdynamic. I know they make great headphones like the HD 600 but that's about all I know about Sennheiser.
This post on Reddit recommends a pair of Beyerdynamic's though: https://www.reddit.com/r/letsplay/comments/53ae49/best_headphoneheadset_for_gaming_and_editing/d7rpzb4?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x
(I realized i put my message in the wrong channel)
@hard fable beyerdynamics to my ears have a more neutral "sound". Where sennheiser seems to more high pithced in the "sound". I have had my dt-990 pro 250ohms for 5years now.
But first thing to say about purchasing headphones should really be this: See if you can go somewhere and actually try them with music you really really know
I Mean i am going to be using the headphones for video editing and gaming or work.
because if the "sound" just doesnt sound "right" to you, then you have wasted a bunch of money :)
hi Naed 😄
here we generally go to hi-fi stores to try stuff like this. and then buy it wherever it is cheaper
hello @young vine
@hard fable i will strongly suggest that you travel, heck, travel far for the opportunity to actually get hands on time with a potential headset (when you are thinking about models in the range of the dt990)
Is the DT990 a strong suggestion..?
Do you have an amp/dac for your headphones?
I have the DT770, they're comfortable, but they also have more bass, so it's not a neutral sound
Alesis Io2 Express is what i have
I'm not familiar with that, I can't find the ohms, but you really only need to worry if the headphones are hard to drive.
My DT770's are 250ohm, most portable headphones are like 32-80 ohms
You could run them but might not be able to get them super loud, if that's your thing
Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/AVexchange/
You might be able to get a good deal on a pair someone is getting rid of
https://imgur.com/gallery/GkzF3kg I a pair of dt990 250ohms, the pads and everything are in like new...
$95 shipped
ive got a great pair of skullcandy hesh 2 wireless, its hybrid (PnP and bluetooth) and has great sound reduction / proofing. great for music and gaming but not so sure about editing. has decent amount of bass. can be worn for hours without losing comfort.
I'm avoiding skullcandy all together.
Any keyboards out there that are similar to razers optomechanical huntsman?
What’s the point of an amp/and is it worth getting one?
@last shadow if you have very high quality headphones or speakers it can improve the sound quality. If you have normal or lower end audio setups id say you wont really notice a difference
Ok, thank you!
Np
Nice 🎄
💀
😛
I want this but backlit
https://www.newegg.com/p/32N-00BB-00018
it should be for the price
WTF IS THAT PRICE
I see nothing that justifies that keyboard's price that you couldn't get with a much cheaper one

it better be built like a tank for that cost
@manic sierra ngl you can do so much better for even a top-tier corsair keyboard with cherry reds, blue, brown (i think)
or you can go pro and get the Massdrop CTRL keyboard
@jolly bloom Just get a custom mech keyboard with that price
The point of a Leopold isnt to be a backlit gamer keyboard...its supposed to be close to an enthusiast board and its quality will be miles better than any corsair board you can find
There are keysets that are $300 alone
Yee, Corsair aint that great on the keyboard side of things if you compare them to actual nice mech keyboards
Yeah, even if you're looking for a perkey rgb board they aren't good
Just go with a China brand and cherry clone switches (makes almost no difference)
Or massdrop kb with actual nice switches and non abs keycaps
just gimme drevo joyeuse v2 back in stock
96%s are butter
i dont care for rgb lighting but i do love a nice white bl
im with an azio keeb atm but you prolly know what sound ABS plastic makes when smacking against an aluminum pane
the thing about those leopolds is that they have sound damps
Hey guys i have a question, i want to buy the razer huntsman TE and i wanted to know, does it matter with which switch i order it? Im mean like is there a difference between different switches and their accuation points?
I want the fastest switches
get the regular huntsman, they have razer's fancy opto-mechanical switches that use lasers and stuff for fastest responsiveness and lowest actuation points. The TE is the smaller, worse model
you won't get the fastest switches then
But they do have the opto switches
look for razer's opto-mechanical switch yeah
if it has the opto-mechanical, not the linear optical one, go for it
It has the linear optical but they are fast
@jack
again, it's not the fastest
you can't say you want the fastest then not go for the fastest my dude
Its literally in their site
They explain about the opto mechanical switch and then they say the switch can be found in the razer huntsman TE, regular huntsman and huntsman elite
ok ok, the opto-mechanical is the fastest switch, anything that isn't an opto-mechanical is slower hence not being the fastest. you can compromise as you see fit, but in the end its your choice
Hey guys.
o/
Sounds like I'm going to be in need of a new keyboard sooner than I expected.
yikes 😦
I want to get a sweet mechanical one, but I don't even know where to start.
lets start with budget
I think last time I was looking at them, I wanted something with cherry brown switches for the tactile thing, but I'm second guessing myself.
I'd be OK spending $100 CAD
and yeah, you gotta think about the annoyance factor of the clack
that's one thing I hate .. watching streamers (if you stream) and they have annoying loud keyboard
Hah
just not a good user experience in my opinion
I get it can be its own charm if you don't have to worry about the noise
yeah 😄
But yeah, I'm looking for silent switches.
I think I want something that's a 104 switch keyboard, although I'm kinda going back and forth on the numpad, like if I could have it separate.
I might go for feeling the click
maybe kailh reds then
I just can't find out what switches it uses
Romer G I believe is the equivalent to mx-red
Alright, you know what, I'm just going to go to my local shop and play with some keyboards today.
there ya go, they might have one of those dummy boards
that have all the types of switches
to me... that is just crazy
What's crazy?
the amount of different switches.
HyperX is nice
i have this cheap E-YOOSO chinese keyboard 81key
it has some red switches of unknown provenance, i think outemu in it
but you can switch out the switches!
no soldering
i'm gonna get some of those high quality boutique kaihua switches
the only problem is it's got RGB that doesn't do anything cool, like allow you to program colors per switch
just presets, which are to be fair, hideous
Pretty happy with the g910 and its "romer-g" switches
I need a silent RGB gaming keyboard and which one is proper switch for it?
mx-silent lol
I might get a basic keyboard like magic keyboard but it doesn't have RGB
I'd say get a cheaper board that has cherry clones, you save money and get basically the same quality
And you get a lot more options opened up to you
If you can find a deal on keyboards from companies that make their own switches, logitech romer-G's are like cherry MX reds, and razer orange switches are like cherry MX browns, i'm quite sure
personally I really like the romer-g's typing this on them right now
G910 here love it
other than the stupid phone holder thing that I could do with out
honestly
S9+ doesnt fit in it anyway and it looks stupid
@young vine re: amount of switches: When you consider that the keyboard is one of your main interfaces with your system. It makes sense to take care that you get stuff that you actually like the feel of.
that is true.
it is a bit like buying a system with all the GPU power and having a random smear-tastic monitor
what I kinda meant was, if someone just going for one, it can be overwhelming seeing all the different style switches
without having the different switches laid out on a switch display
yes (switch tester is the name you are looking for)
go to best buy and try them all out thats what I do 😉
LOL
guys anyone have razer viper ultimate
Anyone know any good headsets around the 150-200 price range?
Cool I'll check it out
ok
@young vine you should see how many switches there are out there with other manufactures
kaihua switches are currently gaining on cherry for popularity
among keyboard enthusiasts
and some enthusiasts have even commissioned their own designs to be made by kaihua
gateron switches > nearly all other switches imo
much as i like gateron switches, it is a preference thing for a lot of heavy typers
switches from budget prices like just their normal ones and all the way up to inks and zeal switches use gateron
🤔 how much was that keyboard
@wooden stump is that the logitech charge pad thingy?
I keep thinking about getting one since my g703 doesnt hold a charge for very long
:/ why did i have to miss modern dolch
@tight pulsar I got my g810 for $90
oh thats not that bad
Nope got it on Amazon brand new on sale
if it was like 150+ for a keyboard with cherry mx or switches like that i think its ripping you off but thats just me :/
Well kinda depends on what's the keyboard made of and features. My keyboard is loaded and romer G switches which I like alot
true, but im kind of biased since i enjoy r/mk too much :v
g910
what's the small one with less keys
and the romer-g
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01645FHEI this is the one i liked
so expensive
maybe the g512 carbon
the hwat
oh when you said extra I thought you mean the G keys over the F keys lol
oh i get it
So how good would the steelseries apex pro's features really be?
do wireless headsets have a lot of latency? looking to buy a new headset and there are a lot of recommendations for wireless ones.
buy razer products for face the force of 10 thousand foxes
Love the kb what switches @lilac jay
Built the kit myself, it's from RAMA Works.
Awesome
Then get a 60%
i am considering it
This is a RAMA Works KOYU board. They make quality aluminum enclosures but are also pricey. I have a couple other keyboards from Ducky/The MIni Van Keyboard etc.
this has 2 FN layers, for work around a PC as long as you get your keys/shortcuts down it's an awesome board.
There are a few I found.
Beautiful keyboard, I wanna get into building some of my own but they're just so pricey lol
i see some input club hako true switches in the green one
was the design of that based on the whitefox
i'm thinking of buying some of those switches because i can switch them out on my keyboard without soldering
It's off their website but they are Kaihl Box Royals I believe.
oh so Kaihua is selling them too
Lessss gooooo
That's a decent headset but heads up you might need to buy a replacement splitter
Any good mouse and keyboard bundles for £50
Nope
Get a reddragon keyboard and a logitech G203 mouse. The mouse is rgb, and its like $25.
personally i can reccomend the mouse. Big time
Send link
Ok
newegg or amazon
Amazon
newegg has the better price :0
thats the mouse
theres the amazon linnk for the mouse
heres a good keyboard
that falls right into budget lol
@calm cobalt i think there is a discount on the deathadder elite in amazon check about that
Yap 30 dollars for a deathadder elite its good price
Reason: Bad word usage
oh ur right
so is the g502
the 402 hyperfly is $18 lol
I like it I had a pretty shitty office mouse
Sorry
What are some good on ear gaming headphones around $100
I want:
Wireless
Able to be wired(3.5mm)
Good sound
Won't break
Removable or retractable mic
oh the perfect wireless headphones I should have an answer for you in about 10 years...
@frosty magnet

people's expectations are so unrealistic
I would go with the logitechs since I love my g633 pair
Can someone recommend a good air blower?
like the compressed air cans
but not in a can
so i dont have to buy a liquid filled can everytime
and how about a triple monitor mount? i have a 24", 27", and soon a <24" that will be vertical. I'd prefer ones that dont clamp on the back of the desk due to weird desk shapes at my school
sorry I cant really recommend one as I've never used one perhaps someone else that has will have some advice
i found a good one for $32 thanks for the help @manic sierra
are these remotely okay
they're very tinny, i used to own a pair of the wired version
amen
Who has the Corsair peripherals? And how much are you guys enjoying it?
the k-aaaayyyyyyy 120
I have a logitech g413
thats a good keyboard!
I've got a Soundblaster Vanguard set and have been happy with it
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CN5YKW6 my keyboard
i got it with red switches but i'm unhappy with the feeling of them so i'm going to upgrade my switches when i've got extra money not going somewhere else
