bro controlling a whole spaceship
dear lord that's some skill
So now in the right channel
any decent budget peripheral recommendations?
Keyboards, mice, headphones all in play
Any preference in switches or profile? Any number for the budget? What mouse grip? Preference for wired or wireless? Preference for open or closed back? Preference for over ear, on ear, or IEMs?
Lots of questions most of which I don't understand but let's go
Okay so
I tend to prefer MX Browns for switches (they have feedback for me but not overtly obnoxious)
Grip is halfway between palm and claw (probably closer to claw but oh well), and my hands are on the smaller side. Thus far I exclusively used wired peripherals, but I'm not prejudiced against wireless (though would prefer wired because batteries are a pain in the butt)
Closed back on ear headphones preferably
As for budget... I'd think something like this:
-40-50 USD for headphones
-50-100 dollars for the keyboard
-50-75 for the headphones
Is it a low budget for everything? Yes
Could I go higher? Probably. The goal after all is getting a setup that'll last for a while and perform good enough to not be a nuisance
Not to have the most expensive stuff and then not knowing how to take advantage of it
Feel free to ask anything else you might need
Though one thing I'd like
It'd be great to only need one RGB software for all the peripherals (for the sake of simplicity)
Keyboard will also depend on form factor, some keychron hotswap board prob, for mouse, try Orochi v2, for headphones, try CAL SE
actually cal se prob won't be in hungary
lemme think if there's any other budget closed back headphones
Love meself that numpad action
this is prob over budget considering shipping cost but example
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k10-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=39426675343449
Keychron K10 Wireless mechanical keyboard has included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, and users can hotswap every switch in seconds; with the hot-swappable version. Please drop your email on "Notify Me When Available" if the product model is out of stock.
Cable is removable if that's what you're asking
The port is on the side not the back so aesthetics might be slightly different
@neon root impressive ngl
means that they can probably hit sub 30 with a full size shape
they have to take out a lot id assume or just carbon fiber
plus itd more than likely just be a clip base instead of clip base + screws
screws already take up a lot of weight
yeah hopefully they dont go full cheese grater like a certain three hundred dollar mouse
there was a reddit post the other day about the mouse clicking by itself in the sunlight
gaping holes + optical switches 💀
i mean to be fair, theyre the ones that thought it was a good idea to not have blinds and use the mouse in broad daylight
also most mice wont have that problem since theres only like what, 2 companies that have optical switches for their mice?
its not a real problem
just funny
if they do have holes theyll probably go the route most are going and have it at the bottom while keeping the shell together
dont think so but theyre also the only company i can think of cause it was on their xlite as well wasnt it?
yeah the xlite wired had it
razer viper v2 pro is $120 on amazon, why cant it just go down to $100 or a little lower already
walmart had it for $110 and i missed it
just like get stronger or something
this is the equivalent of telling track athletes to run in sandals
you should watch mouse market
ive seen v2 pros for
70
80
shipped
90 shipped is ultra common
nah they just have to run faster
as a track person i dont see a problem
used or new?
main reason why i want amazon pricing to go down is because gift cards that i have to help take it even lower
What about flippers
What about bricks
varying levels of wear
but every listing is required to have a photo so you can see for yourself
skill issue
What about cinder blocks
how does running in sandles hurt your knees
That's a question for @fallow glacier the rest of us are randoms from all over the web
None of us actually work for Newegg here
You have to dm them they don't respond to pings
what events
lj tj 100 200
razer is going to now have 8k polling for wireless mouse. tech wise thats insane. practical use case i cant really see it being too mainstream considering 4k is still very new and isnt super used
also thinking of getting another custom mouse made because the person i got my last custom from is having a sale, problem is what mouse do i get a custom paint job on
i was wondering what mouse is better, ive been considering getting the razer viper ultimate or the v2 pro but i dont know which one is better which one do you guys recommend?
i might get the pro
the v2 pro is better
razer basilisk mice are pretty cool looking.
Could mable do a basilisk appearance on a basilisk moouse.
What RGB software do you guys recommend?
none
im being a spoiled brat tbh. The basilisk is good enough by itself
i thought it was like 89
weight on a mouse doesn't matter too much honestly
i might be wrong
but it's about 90
probs not 99
for the longest time I swore that I had a twitchy hand
I've been using really slow mousepads tho, meaning at higher dpi I flicked too far
Now that I finally have a faster mousepad I'm trying out high dpi...
i dont like it already
trying high dpi or low dpi?
trying high dpi
i find high dpi and lowered game sens to give me better finer control
I just use low dpi in general, no need to constantly switch ingame sensitivity
and when I feel like changing, i click dpi
it should be the other way around....
so I've heard
stay at 1 dpi and change in-game sens
400dpi at 1 sens is a lot different than 1800 dpi at 1 sens
i mean, im going from 600 to 1200
uh, i kinda forgot i had laptop on and i decided to place the headset right near the laptop's exhaust lmao
left it there for a whole night
batt probs been fairly toasty during those hours
but tbh it doesn't feel very much hotter than when im heavily using it on wireless mode
Tf
Weebs go absolutely crazy
has that actually been bid on ?
ok nah someone is just smoking hard crack on this one
the new one you have looks way better anyway
the one with the oni mask
What are some good keyboards with these criteria:
- 100% full size
- ARGB
- metal body
- hot swappable
- programmable macros/keys
- budget around $250
Thanks for helping me out in advance. Currently considering the Razer Blackwidow V4 Pro.
keychron comes to mind in this one
q5/v5 has great software, can run via/qmk
it doesn't need any programs to be installed, cuz via/qmk runs off browser
the keeb isn't exactly full full-size, but im sure it has enough keys for all your uses
I run out of keys even on my current full size.
unless you really need the extra keys
I use the numpad and all of those for keybinds.
Better choices then the widow?
keychron q12 works, if you're okay with a few less buttons
and numpad being on the left instead of right
it's pretty odd
What buttons are missing?
it's only missing two extra macro keys
has 3, and a knob you can program
wait it does omit home key too
insert, end and such
Oh nevermind then.
there is still q6 tho
worth checking out
it's 100%, for real this time
it looks like this
Is that really ARGB?
Oh odd. First I ever seen a brand not trying to advertise every bit of their keeb.
do mind that keycaps has no shine through
So I'd need to replace the keycaps then.
Out of curiosity is the keyboard wire replaceable?
it wouldn't work well with those keycaps honestly, the switches are south facing
yes, it has detachable usb c
it also supports bluetooth and 2.4ghz wireless
ya
also nevermind on wireless options, it's purely wired, but detachable cable
the rgb shines on bottom of keycaps, instead of top side
it makes rgb brighter, but at the cost of not working well with shine through keycaps
yep it gets that bright lmao
Epic.
The body itself is see through?
I see.
Hmmm the Q6 are there any downsides to it?
It costs about the same as the Blackwidow V4 so I am trying to figure out pros and cons.
not any, other than ones i have already mentioned
just see which you would like to use
The RGB would it work with something like Aura Sync, SignalRGB or software like that?
Sorry but what is QMK/VIA?
it's an open source keyboard firmware
it being open source means you can basically do anything to a keyboard with compatible hardware
it's not very easy to understand and use however
Hmmm.
requires some research and reading
eh, i guess just go with razer
razer you just install synapse and be happy
or use any other rgb software that works with razer
The Q6 is the RGB also controlled via the QMK/VIA?
mhm
it is
This is a brief tutorial on how to install VIA and how to navigate it's lighting features to help customize the RGB of your mechanical keyboard to your liking.
Our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kustomkeys_/
Where to download VIA: https://caniusevia.com/
Keycaps used in this video : https://www.yunzii.com/collections/akko/products/yun...
here's a tutorial
Thanks, will watch that in a little bit and decide.
I am kinda leaning towards Q6 because then I can mod it.
Installation steps are for Mac. You can skip to 1:56 in the video to get to the actual VIA tutorial. Using the VIA app should be the same process for Mac and Windows
Link here: https://caniusevia.com/
I used version 1.3.1 in the video

Off topic but what's the difference between different mouse pads?
Like I've lately heard of glass, rubber, silicone, and all sorts of types.
i would just use cloth pad for comfort
besides, even cloth pads varies in feel and texture
one can be pretty grippy, another can be speedy
it's pretty complicated stuff that only reviews can cover and give you an idea
Wondering because I saw this earlier and was considering getting it as I am a Cyberpunk Edgerunner fan.
Noted.
here i am using a cheap deskpad
got it for ridiculously cheap
less than $2 shipping included
Wow
dont look up the price of that one either. or the gamesense x yuki mousepad cause i have that one as well
speaking of yuki
for some reason zekken has their twitter badge now
lmao
any good ftip mice drop recently or upcoming ?
well theres a lot of mice out there thats good for fingertip, just that one ive been maining for a while which was made specifically for fingertip
last time i checked the pulsar mini was a good option
dunno if ther are any new leaks or drops since then
Uh...944 woki redragon maybe
Guys, what's the cheapest way to run a 4k120hz signal for 40ft? The wire is going from my PC to a 4k120Hz TV across the room. The current solutions I've found have been purchasing a 40ft 4k120Hz HDMI cord, but they're >/= to $100. Any better or cheaper options? 'Not too knowledgeable about wires.
not really any good cheap way to do it
use fiber
don't end up like me - trying all different cheaper ideas before finally settling on fiber and having no more problems
Fiber will always be expensive
indeed, but stuff like repeaters or e-power extensions just in general aren't very good for 4K120
any way i can think of will still end up costing 100usd+
What mouse do you have?
Tbh I haven't gotten any Razer products due to the software. No bad experiences but my ram did approach 98% and I got scared so I sold a mouse
What’s fiber & where do I buy it?
Fiber optic cables have fiberglass running through them instead of copper to carry the signal, so latency and signal integrity over long distance is better
They're also more fragile, because glass, so be careful not to crush or bend too far
Some really cool keycaps for The enter key.
By the way, after some thinking I decided to go with the Keychron Q6. Gonna save up a bit for it since it's customizable.
can i post a tech deal on modded mice shells? dunno if I should post a mouse enthusiast thing here
Sure go ahead.
If it's electronic and has a deal #tech-deals is the place to go.
a decent amount of mice people in this server
i posted a decent amount of links of pmm. kinda niche but still a tech deal
I don't wanna buy another G305, had to buy a whole other cable after I stripped the switches. they hotglued the wire in
good deal tho
any keyboard people here, i'm lookin to buy my first kinda moddable mechanical keyboard, as all i've got rn is a razer blackwidow elite
this is what i was looking at to start building off of, I don't see anything wrong with it other than maybe north facing LEDS but that doesn't mater too much to me tbh
the other option that i was looking at for if i really wanted those south LEDS, was this barebones kit from akko as well https://en.akkogear.com/product/acr-pro-75-kit/
though a big reason i'm thinking about the first one is because i really like the keycaps, and for the same price as the kit, nice pbt keycaps and silver switches doesn't sound too bad
akko is a decent choice
those keycaps can also be bought separately btw, but they're around $60 for a kit
building from a barebones board rapidly adds cost
you're probably looking at 200+ by the time you're done building the board
depending on your switch choice and whether do you want to lube them or not
easily below 200 if you stick with akko's own switches
yea, i like that board esp because i don't mind the switches and actually like the keycaps
the short travel on the silvers sounds nice
if i don't like them though, i've got a short list of $40 range keycaps i'd get instead
Signal RGB is awesome so far!
It''s detecting all my different branded RGB stuff.
Even working with both the EVGA and Razer products.
/Howdy, all! First time on a Discord server, so hope I'm doing things correctly and not gumming up the works too much. So here's the issue: I need to get a combo usb/dual monitor KVM switch. I know some switches are capable of splitting a single incoming video input out to 2 monitors and I know that other switches require dual outputs from the video card itself. My system will consist of a Mac Studio and a 2010 Mac Pro with a metal-compatible Radeon card. Outputs will be to the primary monitor (Eizo 27 inch) and a secondary , fairly generic widescreen Dell monitor. The first question is (1) Because I have the Mac Studio on one side, will that limit me to a switch that splits signal internally? (2) If it is possible to use dual monitor outputs to the switch, are there any advantages to this when compared to signal splitting within the switch? (3) Does anybody have any specific recommendations as to model/brand?
The USB part I get so you can use one set of peripherals, but I don't think there's a real need for a video kvm here unless there's only one usable input on each monitor
The monitors should be able to swap between inputs as needed
🤦♂️ . Of course inputs are switchable on the monitors! This is what happens when you grow up in a world of VGA CRTs. Thanks!
they're solid, anything specific you want to know about it?
I have a 5075S on hand
Hmm, not really, just wanted to know if I was missing out on something that was obviously better
Unless you need low latency wireless, you're really not
There'll soon-ish be a wireless version of M1, but that's quite a bit more expensive
Alrighty, sounds good 👍
@abstract shard if you want to read through it, I did do a review on mine: https://cultists.network/10510/akko-5075s-review/
It's the S version, but outside of some extra components on the PCB for wireless suport it's the same
Anyone know where I can buy a full set of metal keycaps for the Keychron Q6?
Hey, so I am thinking of putting a stats monitor on my PC case, and I was thinking of getting this:
If I get this, am I going to have to get ADA64 to run it, or no?
You can always try here:
https://www.gateron.co/products/gateron-aluminum-alloy-full-set-keycap-set-chinease-year-of-tiger
But they are expensive AF
I would also say try Drop, but I just looked them up and they only have Artisan metal keycaps rn. They do have some sometimes, but you have to catch them.
kinda tempting.
are keycaps universal?
Like, so long as it's meant for that language setup they will work?
some boards have different size keys, mainly at the bottom of the board... so not quite
but stem-wise, MX fits on MX
What do you mean by MX?
MX is a formfactor for switches, the most used one for mechanical
it uses MX
good to know.
and with the stem I mean the cross-shaped top part that connects into the keycap
will the switch I use affect what keycaps I can use?
unless you go with something like Topre or Choc, no
which don't fit into the Q6 anyways
I plan to use either the Gateron Red or Brown switches since those are my options on Amazon.
yeah, Gateron is just standard MX
Brown is the silent one and red is the loud click one?
no, blue is the loud click one
brown has some feedback when you actuate, red doesn't
the same "bump" you have with blue, just without the click
what do you mean by feedback?
you know how blue clicks when the key registers?
No, I am relatively new to switches and forgot which Gateron switch does which
it's the same here as it is for Cherry, Kailh, Greetech, Outemu and whoever else you want to mention
basically, you feel a bit of a bump when it registers with both blue and brown
to indicate that the key has registered
you don't feel that bump with reds
Oh okay.
it's harder to explain as it is when you feel it
Like the bump I feel on the space bar when I press down?
you kinda feel two with a tactile (brown) or clicky (blue) switch
you feel when it registers with a bit of a bump
and you feel the keycap hitting the plate when you fully bottom it out
I think I know what you mean now.
red you just feel the keycap hitting the plate
I think I will start with brown switches then.
yeah, that's fine
just be warned, it's a rabbit hole 😄
and Q6 is hotswap anyways, so you can always grab different switches down the line
as long as it's 3 pin or 5 pin MX, it'll fit
Great.
Now I just need to figure out what keycaps I wanna get that are within budget so like $80.
way too much to find 😄
My end goal is to have a keyboard that can create essentially the sound of metal impacting metal at high speeds.
I want the keys to be very metallic.
Anyone have good headset/mic arm recommendations? Upgrading my setup one piece at a time and those are pretty much the last things I need
I currently have some 40 dollar steelseries mic and the tripod my mic came with. The mic is a samson Q2U
Looking for headset mostly but mic arm would be appreciated as well. No budget limits but under like, 300-400 would be nice
am elgato shill but their mic arms are nice. i have theirs. they have a normal mic arm and a low profile mic arm
and do you need a headset or just headphones since you already have a mic?
cause you could get a nice pair of headphones instead if you dont need a mic on it
I already have a mic yeah so just the headset for now
anyone know any websites that sell mousepads? like the big ones that fit mouse and keyboard. I know amazon sells them but idk if they’re the best quality are they?
xray pads
their aqua __ pads are pretty good
i think lethal gaming gear pads are also good and big
i think razer strider isnt bad either
depends on whether you want control etc
How slippery the mousepad should be: either slippery as ice or slow as a sloth
Why am I hearing static from my headphones? Razer Blackshark V2 Pro.
fixed, it seems it's a bad idea to connect the headset's Wireless USB into a USB hub.
basically how hard you want it to be to move your mouse
some people prefer quicker surfaces because obv it's easy to move your mouse and less static friction
any suggestions for headsets?
under like 80
was considering arctis 3 a while ago but been a while
I like my HyperX Cloud II
Btw software can be iffy on HyperX but the headphones themselves are great
if you can spare a bit more there's whatever mass drop has
thank u
np
They actually seem to have some epos stuff now on that price range but no idea if that's good
What software, it uses generic drivers
I'm using HyperX inginuity
It's a software, connected to my pulsefire haste and stinger
I don't think that software is meant for the cloud II
The manual makes no mention of it, there's no download on the support page, just a firmware update
wait which ones are they?
i was also tryna find the difference between the arctis 3 (wired) compared the arctis nova 3 wired
suggestions for mic boom arm stand please and @ me with them as well
thank you in advance
nvm i found them ty
Opinion needed: Redragon has a uniquely shaped mouse that I wanna try out and actually has good specifications
should i get that for 30$, or just wait and buy an HTS+ 4k
For $30 why not try it
cause final exams are coming up and it might waste my time
but also its just a mouse
can I say neither?
mainly because gwolves' QC is laughable
yeah i guess
but I really want a freaking 4k mouse
and the shape of the hts+ looks ideal for me
then grab a Razer
so you at least know the thing will work unless you have a lemon batch
Orochi v2
meh, it's not as bad as many make it look
Use synapse once to set up the profile and uninstall it like I do with LGS
I have a fantech Aria, no need for another egg
i need better pinky support
Viper mini
I also consider 4k polling rate to be useless myself, but that's just me
hurts
I have a viper v2 pro with the stock dongle
physically hurt me somehow and idk how
also painful
probably should mention that I main tall mice
G703 is my favorite - cut one up to make it lighter
I mean... Deathadder?
i know my options btw: Ergo mice no
though Deathadder doesn't really have its hump anymore
the right side of the mouse feels bad
If it was DA I'd wait for the V3 wired to get cheap
g502
i can probably go on, but I just need the opinion
is the hts worth it? its litereally a smaller GPX which i wanted
I love mine but it's heavier than most people want
I feel like I've heard that said here before
havent had a double clicking mouse ever
the difference is that Logitech has a way way way way way bigger sample size
Most people who get logitechs don’t even bother reviewing
you're comparing a small designer that doesn't manufacture their own mice against basically the biggest mouse manufacturer in the world
hts is better assuming you get a good sample. gwolves qc has gotten better over the years but still happens to have duds a decent amount
didn;t you have a 4k hts+?
and to be fair... it helps that Logitech's CS is pretty good
Idk if I'm in the wrong camp on this but I'm in the optical switch/hotswap camp for mice
respectable camp
not my camp, im cheap
I don't like my mice suddenly double clicking and needing a complete disassembly
I like hotswap, but blame Asus for patenting it
When my G502 started double clicking they asked for a video of it happening, and immediately sent a replacement without needing a return. Second one is going strong.
Also a membrane keyboard fan btw
Membrane user here too
I'm too far into mechanical
I need quiet keys
no way of returning
The only time I use membrane is for the cheap as chips numpad for sims
Just get silent switches ye
not half bad
Silent mech is still louder than mem
yeah but membrane isn't as fun to deal with
the thing is, I don't care about noise
I just want a full typewriter in front of me at all times
Which is why I've decided not to care 🙃
I've near zero interest in modding keebs, one of the few PC parts I feel that way about
Eh, you can get really damn close I'd say
I've seen some insanely quiet keyboards
nah silent switches are impressively quiet sometimes
the old fashioned way.
.
oh, I also just have a problem
Not as cheap as me
My keeb came in a $20 bundle that included a laptop backpack and 6 months game pass
I'm all about that price/perf
Hahahahaha
but you haven't gone down the Chinese Bootleg products route
I just casually take a keyboard with me to work so I don't have to deal with a Dell board there
PC game pass costs $30 for 6 months normally, I got the keeb for negative dollars
Fal, befriend a local keyboard nerd then borrow one of their builds to see if you like it
Instant profit
I've tried a couple mechs, I didn't really care for the difference
And I'll take my $-10 keyboard that doesn't wake up the kids over a $200 silent mech build
Everyone has their preferences
I’m just messing around don’t mind me
🗿
And in the end, some of us are just insane in their own ways
Nah I literally can't do my job without F keys
Pffff
I can barely use this keyboard I’m borrowing it from a keyboard junky
$80 Amazon assemble yourself desk
Gotta save money for the klipsch speakers
Ikea cabinet conversion master race
If I didn't have a fully integrated desk I'd do that typical ikea crap
Honestly it's functional and good
I’m considering grabbing an ikea desk but like meh.
If you're smart you can have a very sound proof desk
What if you just had your speakers play the opposite sound wave of a key press (mostly the key hitting board and not the tactile bump aka actuation) when your pc detects a press like noise canceling headphones
Are you talking about... literal canceling of noise? In real time? That would be awesome but I doubt modern computers could handle that in real time
But what if they could, since the noise would be a few milliseconds after actuation
Just use the microphone built in to get a noise profile
That might work if it was a robot actuating the keys. I hit mine with a different force depending on how fast I'm going and how passionate I am about what I'm typing.
True,
Could be a fun project, maybe it predicts noise frequency based of your current kpm
This is all hypothetical and probably a joke though
Yeah but this is also basically a keylogger
A fun keylogger
True
preditive conversation ai +voice profile can make your conversations completely silent to on lookers just have headphones in
oh I thought you had an hts+
why the need to say you can switch between polling rates, lol.
they def took out the screws or used smaller screws or just went full clip on for the small
lol true
makes it sound like theyre tryna skirt battery life numbers
hey yall now i know ive asked this before but do you guys have any mousepad recommendations? i just want a white one to match my keeb.
im not sure what i should look for when buying a mousepad lmao
Ok thanks I'll definitely get one of those tonight do you know if they got braided edges bc that was a big problem with my other pad
I couldn't find the control plus for white so I'm going go get the control 2
Oh first ima check if it's braided or not
this mouse is pretty old now
what’s a good wired headset for the Xbox Series X
just discovered i can 3d print switch films, anyone think printing them in TPU would work better than PLA since its more rubbery?
don't have switches to test it on yet ;-;
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a full 108 set of resin or metal keycaps?
Preferably those resin/foil keycaps with their crystalline look for resin.
@glass bear sometimes its not so good to be one of the first to purchase something because they later come out with stuff like this
Can we talk about that tiny as hell pc in the marketing there
also finally getting the atlantis mini
except custom mouse
have to wait though a bit because the person i bought my custom mouse from had a sale going on so they have a lot of mice they need to get to
I like what Pulsar has been doing, but I'm not a fan of low-profiled mice
Clearly a gpu enclosure
holy custom mouse 😴
got Hey so my LED remote broke for my led lights, can i order a random led remote?
turtle beach is good
I hate turtle beach
I’m getting a new one because my old one broke
They’re horrible quality and always hurt my head
I’ve had like 3 of their headsets and I didn’t have a good experience with any of them
What about a Logitech?

NOOOO NOT THAT ONE💀 just get steel series logitech only good for the racing stuff and mice
what’s a good steelseries one
Id perfer a wired one
def arctis 1 or 7
7 is like 1000% better btw i have a 1
bc i aint spending $130 on a headset im broke
i only payed $90 for 1

k
Ciao
what mouse is that
hts+ 4k version
nice
i need some help choosing between some external hd enclosure, one uses usb-c to usb 3.0 and the other uses Sata 3.0 to usb 3.0. Which would be faster
Both will be limited to the USB 3.0 speed anyway
In theory C can be faster but it can also be slower, depending on the motherboard
good point are there enclosures that connect direct to sata ports? i don't really have room in my case lol
eSATA maybe, not really common these days but you can find an adapter.
Having a weird issue with my microphone that I just now discovered-there's a buzzing sound when I use game chats or just the windows listen feature. Oddly enough it doesn't happen on discord(whether or not I have noise suppression doesn't matter) but does in games. Microphone I have is Samson Q2U, not sure if anyone knows a fix but it'd be greatly appreciated!
I've tried different USB ports and the result is the same
Ok welp I moved it away from my pc(it's usually sitting right next to it, less than a foot) and it's completely fine now lmao
There's still a minor buzz but barely compared to before
grounding issue?
I honestly have no idea how audio stuff works so maybe? My PC is just sitting on a wooden desk idk
Well, fake wood
I have a shag carpet if that affects anything
And there is a lot of background noise like there's a fan or somethin but there isn't
Only if I set it all to like max max volume
and how would one fix that
it involves with your house's wiring, unfortunately
could be grounding or interference
^
i've had grounding issues kinda solved when reseating and moving around psu cables
lolol
which doesnt make sense to me
my phone is strangely hot on the rf so I have to keep it 4-6ft away from my mic and headphones
when using balanced cables i usually just have to keep it away from the interface rather than all the cables
Any software that could at least help?
eh moving it not right next to my pc already made it 10x better
is there a router or wireless telephone near you
could be interference from any devices that uses wireless signal
yeah unfortunately you just have to troubleshoot and see what you can do. electrical or rf/emi issues no software can fix
router is in the other room probably 20~ feet away and through a wall
on discord it sounds totally fine though which is whats puzzling me
discord has a noise supression thing
what if you use both at the same time
sorry i dont know what you mean by that 😭
discord and game chat?
discord sounds normal while game chat has static
so when your pc has load, it has static
wack
grounding issue wouldnt hurt anything in the long run right? not sure how it all works
idk
could also be a volume thing, like if you have the gain too low while games tend to significantly raise it automatically. or something wrong with the windows mixer which I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. If this was only recently think about what you did that could have changed it or any windows updates etc
i just have everything maxed in the windows settings but ill fiddle around with it
I'm in the market for a new mouse as i don't think my current one is going to last much longer.
I like the look of some of the Logitech mice. Would specifically like to have a wired one. Not interested in RGB but don't mind it if it can be a solid light and not strobing or whatever.
Is there a recommended Logitech mouse about at the moment?
Also looking for a new keyboard as well but I'm very slim on knowledge around keyboard. I don't need anything special but would like the keyboard to have a solid backlight to it.
All my past keyboards have been those ones with the rubber mush keys that press against the circuit board on the bottom. Can't remember what it's called. But I'd like to go for something a little better now with the proper key switches. Don't want the keys to be loud clacky. Something that's smooth and comfortable to type on of course. Again looking for wired on this too. Oh and i would like t to have a NumPad as well. But no idea on specifics.
Any good current suggestions on this at the moment?
Keeb wise smth like this, price is kinda high but it's a start
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k10-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=39426676981849
Keychron K10 Wireless mechanical keyboard has included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, and users can hotswap every switch in seconds; with the hot-swappable version. Please drop your email on "Notify Me When Available" if the product model is out of stock.
Mouse wise, depends on grip
I bought this of of taobao and it arrived like this
I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to arrive in some factory packaging
Haven't heard someone say Taobao in ages.
Are you in China?
Taobao is basically the Ebay of China. Just a bunch of random vendors reselling stuff or making and selling their own stuff.
they probably used a freight forwarder
Looks nice actually.
I guess I'll be able to customise it further if I wanted to down the line.
Wanted something wired over wireless, but sounds like the battery is pretty big on it though, so I might be able to live with that.
Wasn't really looking at getting into custom keyboard type stuff, but not against it at the same time I suppose 🤔
No but I wanted to buy keycaps in taobao so mind as well buy that
Just ordered myself a 104 set of Silver Electroplated Keycaps.
Should arrive between May 30th-June 5th
Anybody know links to 75% keyboards with noisy clicky switches like purple
Would it be better to buy a plain keyboard without switches and keycaps if I am making a custom one?
Are there better board options for around the same price as the Keychron Q6 if I am looking for a plain board?
Preferably south facing ARGB so the light bounces off a metal body onto the metal keycaps.
there's akko i think, not sure if they have similar layout you want on q6
Is there a name for a keyboard without keycaps or switches?
Thanks
Anyone know of any switches that sounds like clanking? Or you know that heavy sound when metal hits metal at high speeds?
So like a typewriter?
clacky?
Imagine shooting a piece of metal at a metal wall you know how when it hits the surface there's that initial bang sound then a deep aftershock to it?
That's what I am trying to describe.
I am guessing no such switches exist then?
Or the experts are sleeping because it's between 1 and 4 AM for most of us
Oh true forgot about that wups.
Speaking of which it's 3:20am for me so gn, and see you guys tomorrow.
g'night
Ima just get razor huntsman
heeelp

so my keyboard is a wireless one
and for no reason
it stopped charging when using an wired connection
(razer deathstalker v2 pro)
@neon root what happened to the lethal gaming gear mouse
have no idea. when i asked back in feb they said they still had to go through some checks for japan and then they updated the packaging/graphic design/rendering for some stuff
nothing thus far
theyve been doing a lot of partnerships and getting more inventory of other stuff though
im still waiting on my lamzu
gonna take a while for that
can someone help me find a wireless keyboard and mouse to use with my xbox, it doesn’t have to be fancy just functional, id like to stay under $50 but i could go a bit over
50 bucs for a keyboard and mouse thats wireless? not with these prices lmao
not too sure how much theyve expanded on what keyboards and mice can be used on their consoles, but if you just need a keyboard for typing and media on their then look into the k400 touch keyboard from logitech. its a keyboard and mouse/touchpad in one
for gaming, idk, youd have to expand your budget a tiny bit to like $60~$70
because the xbox is by the tv and the couch is a few feet away
it is wireless
ye i just realized
unless they have a wired version as well
mb
why tf do u want a keyboard for ur xbox

its easier for war thunder
then play pc
i dont have a good enough one
Thank god, directional speakers finally exist! 😮
this is a kickstarter
i wouldn't call that "existing"
Well considering they got 60x their goal it's either going to happen or they're going to vanish never to be seen again
They made their 300k, they might just bounce out of the country
Yeah there's not really an in between here, not with this much money at play. Even an incompetent company could get it going with that much money, assuming it's possible and the engineering is sound.
(no pun intended)
Honestly, looking at the design I'm sure it is a scam
100%
How does it even work without the usual speaker parts?
I could see it working in theory with the proper electromagnetic waves and materials
If you put an electric current through certain materials they vibrate, different voltage, different frequency, vibrates the air around it to make sound.
Fair enough
Something just tells me it's a scam
I get wanting to get more funds, but it's already way over the goal
They could end it right there
Anyone have a suggestion for a $50ish mouse? Or there all pretty much the same? Mine works just getting new laptop so I'd check on a 🐁 upgrade too
I would check rtings for some mice reviews
In my opinion and experience though, I tend to prefer any logitech G series gaming mice with HERO sensor
They're pretty good
If you want wireless, there's a lot of options around like Razer Orochi, Fantech Aria XD7, Logitech G304/305, and Razer Basilisk X for people with big hands
The Basilisk X is the only large option I'd recc for wireless at this budget
I, too, shill Hero sensor. The switches aren't as durable as others but Logitech makes good stuff.
Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help you all give to us!
Could someone help me out? I am not sure why but in SignalRGB it seems my lights trips are mirroring my ARGB fans and not showing up as their own individual components.
RGB just kinda works when it wants to. I've given up on it lol.
whelp, maybe a good thing i didnt buy/missed out on the chrome superglide

W company
for admitting it
Not just admitting it, but also issuing refunds to everyone, affected or not.
Had to stop myself there. I nearly defended a corporation. I enjoy playing devil's advocate a bit too much but even I have standards.
They only do that because they figured out it's cheaper to just refund people than have a worker spend an hour arguing with people. A lot of the time they don't even ask for returns because it'll cost money to process a return too.
I forgot about that yeah lol

@west hornet
I remember someone recommending this awhile back
I can’t remember exactly
But is this a decent keyboard for the price?
Im not much of a keyboard person but honestly I have never heard of the brand before
I was recommended it a while back, now looking back at it, might be time for a new keyboard
@primal pawn
I saw they’ve posted some keyboard mods in #building-and-recc-chat that I really liked
Just wish I could find a Cyrillic keycap set
I have no idea what cyrillic is 💀
Slavic alphabet essentially
Russian, Ukrainian, Kazakh, and many others
I could not find any I liked in a price range I wanted, so my roommate and I went to Menards and bought mats to make one, think it cost us a total of $50 and fits two 27" curved Omni screens w/ maybe an inch to each side. I'd snap a pic but my desk is helter skelter atm lol
Hi
Its good
Has good modding potential
I modded the hell outta mine
Gummy o ring mount, tape mod, foam, pe foam, lubed stabilizers
All have tutorials on youtube
Is it worth getting if I just wanna change the keycaps and nothing else?
Yeah
my plans on using my razer strider again went to poop. had to do cleaning duty instead cause of dirt/dead skin
You know any good 60% keycap sets with some art on them?
aliexpress or amazon
if you want prints ccheck aliexpress
generic colorways check amazon
but aliexpress is usually cheaper
Sweet, thanks
@calm cobalt look at yong qiu store or swiesthekeys on aliexpress
they ship fastest
gmky is crap
Found this set I like
looks good
Not that I think of it, are there any non-RGB 60% keyboards?
yeah but same time u an just turn off rgb
Hmmm, true

Holy crap they're selling the mouse my brother has that I loved
He has this old one from like 2014 or something
Any recommendations for a silent mouse? I need something that won't bug the wife when she is trying to take a nap lol.
Where are like some common areas of the pc where there is plastic
I don’t want my pc to smell like burnt plastic
And I forgot I take of my gpu peels on the fans
So if there any other areas in pc where you need to peel of plastic
Mostly just Motherboard and maybe a little one on psu?
Maybe AIO if you have one
just look for shiny places maybe on ur mobo
Around $40.
It's a very thin layer or silver just enough for visuals so it doesn't cost much.
The inside's abs is still visible.
But no one's ever gonna see that once it's on so that's fine.
How do I take off the switches?
Gonna swap some of my silver switches with the copper ones my keyboard came with.
Ignore the dust, gonna buy some compressed air later for that
They're silver kailh switches.
Help me out I just waited two weeks for my mouspad to come and now it's looking like this. The sides are creased and idk what to do
It's the aqua control 2 if that matters
Do I need to place something heavy on them for a day?
Will that help lol
Oh God ok, I'll try it out last time I used an iron I burnt myself lol
Will I need to leave it on for long?
No just long enough to get it warm. It'll burn if you do it too long
Kk thanks
Ima go find the iron now
Apparently we don't have a iron anymore so ima just place books on it for a day
Very hot water in a bottle works in a pinch
That's how we did it in basic training lol
i would but the problem is that i dont have access to a iron currently
recs for airpods pro tips
before i lost mine I used dekoni tips with the airpods
thx
wow that looks horrid
Rude.
its like
when a 12 year old plays a game and decides to make everything chrome or gold
💀💀
I get it you don't like metallic objects.
Lmfao
i dont like cheap plastic
It's like the difference between someone who likes or dislikes RGB.
expensive plastic 👍
no its the difference between ugly and not ugly
They're metal
even pudding keycaps look better than that
It's abs keycaps electroplated in silver.
Ohhh
so its plastic
I thought you said they were metal one day lmao
Plastic internally but metal on the outside.
Which honestly is fine since you'd never touch or feel the abs.
real metal keycaps are cool but the one i have was like 80$
and they also arent a gross metallic
Okay I think hes gets it leyo
Damn
People are allowed to like things you don't
It's called personal preference
yeah and my personal preference is that its ugly
Good for you
also hop off ur social justice warrior discord mod grind
No one needs to hear you brag about how much more you spent on your keycaps man....
Cool. I used to do archery a couple years back as a hobby. My father and I went to do it once a week.
i added 80$ to talk about how a full keyboard isnt realistic bozo
Me💀💀
also not all keyboards are hotswap
so u should check before trying to remove switches
No need to start name calling. Geez what is your problem against my tastes? I like metallic and shiny objects. You dislike super metallic stuff so let's just leave it at that.
My keyboard is hot swappable, found out later that I need to remove the armor piece on top, gonna buy a screw driver later to change the switches.
i called you a bozo because you misunderstood something i said
and thats not how howswap should work
It isn't?
if its hotswap u should just be able to use a tool to remove the switches
I am using the Z15 keyboard from EVGA.
are you trying to remove it with a tool
Yeah.
uhhhh
It came with a metal like pick.
u should just be able to push the pin- like things on the top and bottom
Am I grabbing the switch the wrong way? They're silver Kailh.
all switches are pretty much the same
Grabbed the little pin up front and the nudge in the back.
u should just be pushing the legs in and squeezing the tool idk
u could watch a youtube tutorial if u havent
DRAMA IN NEWEGG
Any recommendations for headsets? I already have an external mic and have like, the worst steelseries headset currently :(
Budget is up to $200~, can move around if its truly worth it or not though!
bozo !!!!!
Depends on your music preference
Would that be like, bass vs mids and stuff like that? Or specifically the type of music?
Also would mostly be used for gaming
imo whatever u use to listen to music you’ll get used to so unless u really need or really want accurate sound then who care
its mostly my current headset is uncomfortable and kinda falling apart
just didnt have the means to get nicer ones when i got it
Both tbh
But to simplify, akg361/2 will be what is most similar to what gaming headsets kinda sound like but is better in every aspect by a lot
560s are neutral ish if that’s what u like
then hifiman has some open back stuff within that range but they may need a dac/amp to get full potential
I focus on mids more yeah. Someone recommended me HE400SEs but unsure on those as they seem experimental
Will check all those out though, thanks!
Hello! Anyone here to help me figure out whether I got a bad HDMI cable or if I bought the wrong thing?
(if this is the right channel for cables)
When you decide to clean your Corsair K55 keyboard and it gets out of hand
Ngl it looks like an old rug
wait thats glass?
Wtf
probably a weird angle
looks cool though
if they inverted the colors id buy one
Lol
could be angle and due to the layer of glass. looks more foggy in person than in the image
this is the back side of it
are there any leaks on the shape of the new fm
6xx probgonna be the perfect headphone for ya but its gonna be out of budget and need an apple dongle or some
from their discord
i think its basically just starlight shape
oh wait no
they definitely shrunk things tdown
Looking at them they seem super promising, but wdym by apple dongle?
I hate Apple in so many ways
I have to suffer with this on my iPhone 8
type c is enough for me to upgrade tbh
