Or just the normal Viper
Usually ~40usd but you can find the "Razer Victory Bundle" for $30 which is the viper plus a mousepad
ha, why is the mouse itself more expensive than it's bundle
Promos, happens a lot with razer tbh. They want more people using their stuff.
Yamaha g2 baby grand, from a place that rebuilds old pianos
@cyan basalt too add to my comments from way before on gwolves, some more of their great quality
hati s plus, their 4k mouse
again, on paper their mouse sounds great, qc, bit dodgy
apparently qc for lightweight mice is rough
Isn't that from having light switches? My xm1r has slam click protection, or whatever it's called
does anyone know a good budget external battery for a laptop for college?
What laptop?
Your options will depend on how the laptop can charge or if it has a removable battery
im not planning on playing games on it while at school so i dont need anything crazy
https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Universal-31200mAh-External-Notebook/dp/B07S4DJTZG/ref=sr_1_8?crid=16I46PFEMOF6R&keywords=ac+socket+external+battery&qid=1668615793&sprefix=ac+socket+external+battery%2Caps%2C82&sr=8-8#customerReviews i did find this one and it seems to look good
not really for lightweight mice, just depends on the company if theyre good at making mice or not
id say "slam click protection" is more in line of having better tensioned clicks than to blame the switch itself
otherwise razer mice wouldnt exist rn, one bounce and theyd triple click
Any good gaming headphones that uses dual 3.5mm mic and audio jack connection?
I honestly have no idea if fantech is just straight up ripping razer at this point or its just hella coincidence after another. "sakura edition" after razer released their quartz version a while ago
or whatever razer calls their pink version
I like pie 👀
that's a very subtle pink for me
Would you have a pi or a pie?
pie, because its not march 14th
I'll have a pie if I can use pi to calculate it's circumference
Not really sure if chairs qualify as a peripheral but idk where else to ask this, im looking for a nice office chair for my dad. He has really bad back issues so I'm looking for something with good back support, but not something that has a hard back. Not sure exactly what the budget is going to be, but anywhere under $200 should be fine. He uses the chair for a minimum of 8 hours a day so even over $200 is fine as long as it isn't stupid expensive
if you are in a good area you could try looking for a herman miller aeron or a steelcase leap v2 used for cheap. I use a leap since I had a lot of issues with my back and although the lumbar is very forward it has helped me a lot. I know some people like the workpro chairs and I also heard some people like the clatina mellet
There are a lot of videos of budget chairs you can find around
Alright ty, I'll take at those
I'm really not concerned about cost tbh, with how much he uses it I'd rather spend $500 so he isn't in as much pain daily
if cost isn't an issue there are also some retailers that sell some higher end chairs like the leap and aeron refurbished for close to 500-600usd and sometimes is pretty decent warranties
just bought a second one of these and the new one compared to the first has a warmer yellow tint to it even though the settings are the same as the original
is anyone familiar with this monitor or able to assist with getting them to look similar
That'll just be normal variance in the panels probably, every monitor (with exceptions on the high end) has the same deal
You just have to play with the settings until they're how you like them @strange ridge
is there a software that will do it for me?
A colorimeter would
Which pairs with hardware
are those relatively cheap?
ugh feels bad
Much cheaper just to play with the color settings until it looks right
Yeah just use your eyes
I like to use a reference screen like my phone's OLED for what should look right, and I go from there
You might find the first screen was a bit more blue and you adjusted to that lol
That's a good approach but honestly I just do a real world test like still images on both screens
see the issue is i feel the first was more warm before to
but i did something and cant remember what
Maybe it was in nvidia/amd settings
did that i even reset all settings
If you did that it should've reverted
I needed to make a few tweaks in nvidia software in addition to monitor settings myself but I like the results. (I know the colors will look different to everyone else)
ill check nvidia
might even have been some asus software for my old portable monitor
could also need to power off and on my system for it to auto update or so the box claims
Worst case you can do DDU and it'll clean up all the applicable settings
Reinstalls the monitor drivers and all that once you reconnect to internet
ill check nvidia
then power off and back on
if not then ill just try to match it to the other one
because i just hate seeing the new one have the whites yellow
Understandable, my secondary monitor is an old TN panel and the colors are awful even after adjustments
It's fine for discord at least
i was hoping to avoid the issue by having the same model and everything
Sadly the only way to make sure they're similar is to get a model that's factory calibrated, which they mostly do on more expensive stuff
where do i got to get here in nvidia
adjust desktop color settings
hmmm nvm im blind lol
appreciate the help i manually did it via the monitors color correction stuff @white flame and @pale cosmos

like this seems cheap for a nlue yeti mic ( i know its on sale )
also is this a good headset to go with it
I wouldn't doubt it. that mic is honestly not worth the 130usd price tag anymore

Good headphones ???
that one's decent if you're into bassy, punchy sound
are these good for 64.99 CAD? (on sale from 139.99)
no
is it the quality that's the problem?
sound quality
alright thank you
@haughty flame check the one in #tech-deals
One of the best gaming headsets
I am using SteelSeries Arctis 3 Bluetooth (wired mode mostly on Windows PC) for over a year and generally happy with them. Will I benefit from buying DAC for them, will it really give me any benefit of hearing more details in shooter games for example ?
The benefit would be more for music than games id say. But also i would upgrade headphone before dac in that case
Orochi v2, haven't gamed with it yet. Not a fan of the coating though, it feels too slippery.
Only $34 though on Amazon
https://www.newegg.com/global/il-en/black-beyerdynamic-717525-earbud/p/N82E16826380026 would that be good option and what AMP I would need with it for gaming
or this one dt pro
https://www.newegg.com/global/il-en/grey-beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-over-the-ear/p/0TH-00JD-000K8
which Ohm would be best for gaming and it would still need AMP/DAC as well?
dt770 certainly needs an amp for sure with 80
Yeah, dt770 would be way better than earbuds
They're really comfortable
The cable is kinda annoying and beefy
then I hope newegg will have some discount on black friday for those DT770 80 ohm,
what amp would u recommend then from newegg for gaming FPS purpose mostly ?
I saw this https://www.newegg.com/global/il-en/creative-blasterx-g6/p/N82E16829102103?Item=N82E16829102103 - Creative Sound BlasterX G6
and that much more expensive option - Sennheiser GSX 1000 https://www.newegg.com/global/il-en/p/23H-00G5-00005?Item=9SIAYTVJ699767
The 250 were on sale the other day
im not sure if the creative can take 80 ohms
seems it can do up to 600? huh
if so 80 is no problem for it
but imo i think you can definitely go cheaper
can u drop some link here from newegg ?
i don't have time to look atm
but try looking at fiio e10k or something
or their other more compact stuff
Did you check out the pc37x for $69?
They're open, but would be good for gaming
Not sure about music though, they might be treble heavy for footsteps
But you can always use an equalizer if you wanted to
nope, but that head cushion gives me memory of this headset I tried - GSP 600 and their headband was terrible for me, had hard time to sell on 2nd hand market. Sound was awesome without AMP and mic was great too, but couldn't wear it more than 30 min without getting it sore on my head... so headband seems similar in pc37x.
right now i use more than a year arctis 3 and they have cloth band under plastic band and it is very comfortable, dt770 band also looks comfy , hopefully not same as GSP 600.
My keychron c1 just got Dr Pepper damage and broke so I need a new keyboard, don’t have a lot of money to spend on it right now but I still need a decent mechanical one
Maybe in the range of 40-60
wut, how it feel slippery
id say yeah if you got a custom cover but just stock white and black should have a texture similar to the viper lineup
Maybe because it was cold or something, but it feels better now
Or maybe dry hands
How is this mouse so cheap
Retail it’s normally $70 but like the viper mini, it’s on sale like 80% of the time for some reason
Comes with a lithium battery too instead of a normal battery
Or at least mine did, rex says theirs didn’t
another keychron c1
My g703 ruined me, my hand hurts on any egg mice now
I'm hitting a dilemma on mice guys, is the Corsair Sabre wireless better than the Glorious Model D?!
Apparently the model D has decent latency but the Sabre has competitive
just about anything is better than glorious at this point
mice searching is both fun and annoying
because my original choice was the Model D over the Pulsar Xlite v2
and now im stuck even more
narrow it down to what you want
shape ergo or ambi:
weight:
what kind of grip:
wired wireless:
yup, did that
but apparently there are more ergonomic mice choices than there are laptop choices
pulsar xlite v2 roughly 59g, corsair sabre about 79g
which one has the better shape for you?
do you want holes in your mouse?
what you doin where you need to constantly switch dpi?
switching between Valorant, Call of Duty, and Battlefield
and fine-tuning it takes too long
https://m.shein.com/us/Business-Wired-Mouse-p-2671018-cat-2272.html? Perfect rgb mouse
I'll debate that
its a bad debate to be taking cause changing dpi is still worse
I dont think weight under 80g makes too significant of a difference does it?
it does
also...yeah probably but still
quite literally
welp
just a matter of whether or not you can feel the weight change especially once you start going in smaller increments
im back to square one🤣
going from like a 100g mouse down to a 40g mouse is a huge difference like 60hz vs 144hz, but going from 40g down to 30g would be like 240hz vs 360hz
opinions on wh1000xm4s for $200 for brother who doesnt care much about any audophile stuff but just wants headphones for casual listening and gym
listens to mostly rock
also maybe some casual mc/shooters
they're great
got bassy but also decently bright sound, not piercing on the ears. at least for mine anyway
i don't own them but judging by the measurements and reviews, they all agree on that
should be pleasing for many people
^ would disagree
Will i notice a sound difference if i use the same earbuds on 2 differents smartphones ?
Any decent deals on headphones right now? Being used for gaming, doesn't need a microphone (actually prefer for it to either not have one or for it to not be it's own thing, as it'd just get in the way.) Budget is up to like $150 or so, if yall think that isn't sufficient I can go higher
I think PC37X was in tech deals just recently
Depends if you want open or closed back
including dac& or no
ngl looking like prices have gone up rn, I'd wait for actual black friday
like k371 is almost 160$ rn, usually 120$
I'd prefer if it's either wireless but not Bluetooth, or if it can plug into my wave 3
Not sure if thst answers the dac and amp question
Wave 3 the microphone?
Do you know if you want open back or closed back
Yeah
I'm not too sure what the difference is to be honest
My current headphones are closed back iirc, but they're just uncomfortable and don't have good directional audio
Which I really need for valorant which is most of what I play
$280 usd a bit out of budget for me
I'd rather keep it under 200, 150 preferably
do you care about a bit of sound leaking
open back tends to have better directional audio
probably look for k612 pro and grab apple dongle, wait for black friday to see if price comes down though
Then open back it is
open can be more breathable for comfort
The most important thing to me is good directional audio
Second is comfort as I wear them for hours on end
Sound leaking as in if someone were next to me they might be able to hear the audio?
If thats what that is that's perfectly fine
yea
K612 PRO headphones are reference open, over-ear phones that deliver natural sound imaging for professional monitoring. The advanced open technology offers comfort for long working sessions and a full, spacious sound. AKGs patented Varimotion diaphragm technology completes the unique sound of the...
Ty, I'll probably wait till Friday to buy but ill keep these in mind, I'm assuming this is normal price for them?
150$ is a normal price for these
sound leak also kinda means you can easily hear your surroundings
not as clear as open backs ofc
but i can still hear things very well with my arctis 1 with cloth earpads lmao
they don't seal particularly well
Wireless ?
You will notice difference in terms of noise
Depending on how well each device handles bluetooth
You might get less noise on one device, while another has more noise
Any good deals on wireless headsets for PC been looking around want to ditch my cabled artic 5s
@neon root the glass skates have pushed me down to lower dpi. I'm now chillin at 900 💀

@white flame any idea why they measure fiber optic light readings with dBm?
That's a signal strength measurement
yep
The longer the fiber run, the more light refractions, the more signal loss
I'm no engineer, I just run the things lol
fair
I found the answer somehow
dBm or decibels per milliwatt is a unit of measure for sound and power level of an electrical signal. Every 10 decibels is a 10-fold increase in power
Okay so I used to have Astros A40s way back in the day for Xbox and I loved them. They were insanely comfy and had really good sound quality. And I was wondering if they are still a quality headset. I was thinking about getting a pair of astro A50s that are for Xbox and pc.
a50 is recommended by rtings
Huh? Lol
rtings is a pretty reliable review site
tho they're very stringent on some things
like rating headphone controls low just cause they only have volume rocker and mic button lol
and their way of saying something has good sound quality is just a flat tuning
Can you send me the link please
go to a store and try them
if not
try and return
I'm looking for a keyboard for around $50-70 with clicky switches and rgb. Does anyone have any recommendations?
and somehow...it hurts
Like physically hurts?
yeah...i think my hand is having to re-adjust
xtrfy mz1 on sale as well, $35
sadge vaxee doesnt have a sale going on
still need to pick up one of their mice, i have glass skates sitting around for one
going to be a first for both companies. never tried either so time to see what their quality is like

i also need to buy the xm1r at some point as well
i have glass skates for that as well just sitting on a shelf
if youre willing to spend $20 on shipping, Fatal, Max Gaming has quite a sale going on
Haha I just got my Saturn pro delivered today
I'm set for life
I won't be home till later, so hopefully no one steals it
I like the xm1r, but I always accidentally hit the side buttons.
i missed out on the saturn pro for their sale or at least for their 500x500 model
i have the venus pro though for when it first launch. wish i got the penus pro though that some people have been getting
I thought about messaging them about it, but I figured it's only $7 difference
True, I can try just in case. Worst thing is they'll just give me a gift card
Any opinions on these compared to the ones mr111 suggested here?
https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-hd-58x-jubilee-headphones?1
it's alright
The ones you suggested are a better choice?
k612 pro should have better imaging
Kk
although hd58x easier to run than k612 pro
k612 pro will have benefits from better amp
I'm not gonna be using a dedicated amp
ye
but both should run with apple dongle
k612 pro has more potential with nicer amp
they're good headphones
but what you will find is that it lacks bass and falls short on highs when you start using better headphones
Reason: Bad word usage
and the foam stuff they use to dampen the sound
apparently if you remove them you get the HD660S
Wat
@pale cosmos Not
There's black Friday deals going on now and I need a headset with dual jack connection
Any good quality ones people know of?
Headset for gaming
Pc37x/pc38x
Thank you
Anybody have any decent recomendations ffor a new keyoard? I have a logitch g910 that is all of a sudden dropping keystrokes or having doule presses
What's your budget? Prob a keychron board unless you're willing to spend more
Probably around $100, ideally I'd like to have another full size keyboard with media keys so if there isn't anything within that price range I could go higher
I don't really remember what a good price point is ecause I was given this keyboard for free a few years ago because a friend was replacing it and a lot of the LEDs weren't workin
Probably something like this, you can use qmk to bind the extra keys to whatever you use your media keys for
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-v6-qmk-custom-mechanical-keyboard
The fully assembled version includes: ABS plastic housing The keyboard PCB, screw-in stabs, and the steel plate Double-shot OSA PBT keycaps (including Mac & Windows keycaps) Keychron K Pro switches The barebone version does not include the keycaps and switches. No discount codes can be used for V6. Please drop your
That's perfect! Thank you!
You're welcome
yessir
I need to get a 2k monitor ASAP @under 500$-600$ 240hz preferably newegg bc i got a coupon
Gigabyte m27q-x is a great choice
Seconded
Thirded
Yea but it’s alwyas out of stock
Probably this is the best that's in stock rn https://pcpartpicker.com/product/N2GnTW/samsung-odyssey-g7-lc32g75tqsnxza-315-2560x1440-240-hz-monitor-lc32g75tqsnxza
$550 at wegg
@olive smelt ^
need ips panel
Not sure
i
550 is already extreme
wait nvm i dont like curve monitors xD
I would just wait for m27q-x to come back
I've no clue on the quality of this panel https://pcpartpicker.com/product/VNt9TW/lg-32gq850-b-320-2560x1440-240-hz-monitor-32gq850-b
Otherwise m27q-x on amazon https://pcpartpicker.com/product/TxddnQ/gigabyte-m27q-x-270-2560-x-1440-240-hz-monitor-m27q-x
Overpriced though imo
Way overpriced
Also 32in flat is probably going to be ass for gaming, atleast to me
I mean constraining to strictly ips, I get it for comp, but will it always mean a better experience? Not necessarily
I could go either curved or flat really
Just as long as the panel is good
The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000, placed at the highest point in my home earlier this year, and wondering if this type should be placed differently. 20 feet away, no walls or anything to block, signal drops 1/3, and for the power this model has, I figure either something is wrong with it, or I placed it incorrectly.
Have you messed with the antennae?
The antenna all stick out at 45°. Past wireless/wired routers I used in past, Netgear, Linksys, ASUS, I'd put same exact spot and would not only get full coverage top floor, but second floor and basement, plus 10 feet around house outside. For some reason, this model that's supposed to be top of the line, isnt reaching and using my phone, can see the bars drop as I walk 5 feet away. Going to lower the height today to see if that changes. I got this model because past ones would break down after 6 months due to the extreme bandwidth they handled. First they'd start locking up on a daily basis and need constant rebooting to losing the ability to transmit wifi all together and would have to fall back on the Ethernet ports, which would lock up as well and around the time to get a replacement 😂.
Lockups always happened after downloading anything big, like an 8gb Windows ISO.
When technet was shutting down, I killed a brand new router in a week, downloading all my ISOs from Microsoft, whether I needed them or not. Always a chance I might need one in future and rather not have to shell out $300+ for a new license if I already owned them.
Set half the antennae to be 90 degrees vertical
and the other half to be flat/45 degrees
And then move it closer to the center of the house if you can instead of the high point
RT routers have an AiMesh feature as well, for signal that doesn't seem to reach, you can add other RT routers to link them and create more than one access point (yes the other access points will have a slight delay) so you will improve the signal
@glass bear I’m sure you already saw it but I didn’t realize it until I saw boardzy’s TikTok but that new xtrfy mouse hassl the usb on the back right side of the mouse instead of the front
i didn't realize either
LMFAO
I guess that's what they gotta do for the shape
Anyone know where to get good grips for Logitech mice?
they should still be having a sale rn as well of 15% off
btl and corepads are the more popular
I actually have another ASUS router. Wouldn't be much a delay if I Ethernet connect it?
My wife pulled me away to watch an anime series, and accidentally plays the last episode, and shockingly they all die, so sorta ruins it to watch the rest lol. Was a bit surprised no lag spikes with large films using the portable NVME on another system through family share.
Chobits on a DVD writer, lots of lag spikes. Then again, that portable was like 15 years old.
I'm wondering with the low price of 2tb NVME cards, if their is an multi card system where you can make a NAS system strictly NVME cards.
Be an interesting test. Card NAS vs SATA nas system. Reliability and life span.
About corepads, compared to btl, which one feels more rubbery
Delay over wifi mesh (60-ish ms), basically no delay over ethernet
It's funny how I can build the best of systems, repair them, yet my knowledge of routers bare minimal, which is ironic when I run web servers and a pretty good home network. Haven't worked for BB in 10 years, another funny story for another time where 2 years ago they just realized I no longer work there lol. Anyways, if I run a 50 to 100 foot line to the next floor, if I remember correctly, shouldn't I be using some kind of booster in between for signal loss? Or is that something no longer an issue? Routers I rarely touch except to add new equipment using the Mac address whitelist. Did that few years back after finding out a neighbor was breaking in for years, stealing old equipment and had one of my phone's that had the admin password saved for the router in it. Would learn the new network password and only caught on when I replaced the router and saw my phone requesting connection that should have been in my garage 3 years.
100ft is nothing
I use gold plated cables. Made my cable company pay for a new 1000 foot cable a few years ago as an installer got lazy and cut into mine to run a splitter for a new house. The signal drop was just horrible when they did that. I actually thought it was an illegal splitter, to find out a cable truck actually did that to save time.
I pay $266 a month for that line. No one is supposed to be on it, and I paid close to 1k for that install 6 years ago.
You likely shouldn't need a signal booster, I would just pair the other router over wifi, not worth that much value in cable. If you're smart about where you place the router the new node shouldn't have any trouble, and you can add more to it while keeping your existing ethernet connections where they were and not spending on more cable installs which could be a massive pain and cost, more than the router when wifi works lol
Gaming over wifi mesh isn't bad at all it's leagues better than your normal wifi for the same distance
Especially if you ethernet from the second node the latency hit is quite small
Mesh is also really good for porting over existing setups for stuff like printers, smart home devices and existing laptops etc cos all the routers in the mesh broadcast the same network i.d and password, a few IP addresses might need modifying? (Especially static IP links) but it otherwise just straight works
Man, Indy Evos sound like ass
Then again I won't complain much because I got them for free lol
Gold plated contacts have absolutely zero effect on signal integrity, the overall build quality has so much more to do with it. Gold plated is just to sound good in marketing.
anyone know i good headset thats cheap?
75 or lower?
i just bought a steelseries artic 5 and it sounds terrible😭
Can you return it?
Do you need wired or wireless?
Xtrfy are so bougie and extra lol
Came with two random keycaps
But this mouse feels solid af. Like it's made of metal.
Also came with two different backplates
my mouse should be coming in tomorrow hopefully
Can't say a thing with Ethernet and HDMI, but with coaxial, there has been an immense difference. For all I know it could be the quality of what my cable company uses, but then again once I swapped the connections out with gold ones, there was no line noise, and very little signal loss. I buy commercial grade from Digikey. The stuff that RadioShack sold when they existed was way overpriced, and quality was shoddy. Gold connections shouldn't rust, theirs did.
looking for a headset w/ good sound for movies, gaming and VOIP/SIP (work) usage, nothing extravagant or expensive, would like to keep it < $100
But one get two free. I should've posted here, but completely blanked on it.
It's expired though, the deal was on addice.com
They looked like raffle cards for a second to me

I’m looking to identify a cable for a project I am working on. Short story: I bought an “ear scope” cleaner, one of those mini cameras with a built in wifi connection so you can connect the tiny camera to your phone and see inside your ear while you clean it. I want to attach that camera to a intubating tool for my anesthesia capstone. The cable to the camera is only about 1.5 inches long, so I need to EITHER:
- find a cable extension that matches what I have to make it longer
or - find a camera with identical hardware to connect to the wifi and battery component.
The “plug” has 21 pins, 11 at the base with 10 more sandwiched between those and a little higher up (white keys and black keys on a keyboard kind of situation). The plug is 6.5 mm wide. It appears to be a sort of micro ribbon cable. The camera itself is only about 2.5 mm wide
Can anyone help me identify the name of the cable or point me in the direction of where to go?
ive been going back and fourth on their website looking for deals and missed on that 😭
was too focused on their mousepads
they dont really have a sale/clearance tab anywhere either or at least i dont see one
nvm they do have a deals section but its like in the middle of the home page and blends in with everything
Yeah, I would've remembered to post it, but I was out of town and completely blanked on posting it here
They didn't really have a big selection
That's why I ended up getting feet for the glorious D lol
Aww I wanted new skates
new mouse and mousepad came in yeet. and yet again because the mousepad is rolled, i need to iron it to make it flat
more companies need to do flat shipping
Why don't they do flat shipping seriously
Also does it smell? For some reason mine smelled like a chemical mess
shipping a mousepad flat tends to cost more than if you were to ship it rolled. it being rolled also saves a lot more space in comparison
and no mine doesnt
happens to some people though due to whatever printing process they do for their mousepad and how its made
Ironed out. Still relatively big compared to my other mousepads but smol compared to my Venus pro
@cyan basalt is this on your mouse too? Good luck have fun
Yeah lol
The dpi light is too fricking bright though
Also, mine had a polling rate switch on the bottom. Idk who uses 125 or 500 hz anymore
people still say 500hz is the best to use but im sticking to my 1k
or higher if i get a mouse that can go higher
Yeah, how does it feel? the m42 felt like a light brick
Like I could probably drive over it and it'd be fine lol
solid but nothing crazy, very slight creaks but plastic do be plastic. with this mouse since its specifically for fingertip, the back end portion of the middle, if that makes sense, and beyond is hella reinforced
where the back side button would be and beyond towards the hump
weight wise its fairly light but more weight towards the back of the mouse because again, heavily reinforced around the hump
i need to buy another bungee. because of how thin the lgg cable is, theres a rubber filler to put into the bungee and i dont feel like trying to get the cable through that every single time i want to use my viper mini
Is a bungee worth it? Glorious has a sale on used stuff and i'm tempted
You can ghetto tape your cable to your monitor lol
But yeah, it's nice to not have the cable in the way
I would highly recommend
Stops cable dragging back off the desk
I have a question im currently playing on a 4k144hz monitor for both series x and pc. I have to switch between dp and hdmi 2.1 can i get a hdmi 2.1 switcher so i dont really need to switch between both?
I have a hdmi 2.1 on my new gpu
There's some really good 2.1 switchers out there with auto switch but they don't work with dp
Also you're limited to 4k120 feasibly for hdmi 2.1, can probably do more if you do like, some funny colour stuffs
Kek
What recommendations do u have for the us east coast? Once i get new gpu i could always use the hdmi 2.1 port
There's this one that I have
https://amzn.asia/d/25Yl0Gw
Idk if it's US available but it auto switches which is uncommon
Note when you plug into this, the display may initially recognise 4k144 on your hdmi 2.1 and won't display at all
You might need dp plugged in to the screen for configuring
I mean you'll have to do switching either way why not use dp/hdmi switching instead of buying something for it?

Haha
That's why you use a mouse pad
Only real gamers have that issue
said this in #old-monitors-and-tv aswell but
hay anyone know what part would let me use a hdmi to plug a usb b but still a monitor aswell?. im using a 50ft hdmi to run to a screen wich i need to have keyboard and mouse at aswell and the usb b port on monitro is only providing power when i tryed to plug mouse and keyboard in
Sounds like you need a KVM switch
those all seem to need a usb and a HDMI running to the pc
is there one that runs to pc with only hdmi?
Oh you're trying to carry the usb signal over hdmi too, no that's not possible
i need something on the monitor side of the hdmi
There's some that can do it over ethernet
my freinds fire tv does it
Yeah it would be a feature built into the monitor but you don't have it apparently
so my best bet if i keep the monitor is just a usb extension cabble?
Wireless keyboard and mouse work too
and theres no spliter that is a hdmi female to male with a usb a on side for a mouse?
i already have keyboards and mice so id rather no get new ones
yah ive seen those, more expensive than just a usb cable so yah dang
was hoping not to have 2 cables to deal with but nvm
There's not really a cheap solution here with few wires
This option would only be $56 after the coupon
yah, still more hassle than usb for me
specific solutions like that doesn't exist unfortunately
unless the pc had thunderbolt then you could do a 50ft fiber thunderbolt run into a dock that has both hdmi and usb
Yall think it's worth getting a mod kit for a G305?
implicity really going through it with mice
not knowing what kind of mouse, debating gloriuos model d and some other mice, going back to square one on what kind of mouse they wanted, buying the glorious model d, regretting it, hand hurting after switching to something else, now about to spend $66 for a shell
mind you its a shell with nothing in it
nope nvm, guess it is the g305 and not the kit
wait ya no
$66 for the shell
you have to buy a g305 as well, about $35 (being generous that its on sale) so over $100
I'm having a logistical nightmare (pun not intended). Sorry Wolfgang
I already own the g305 so it aint that bad
well, dont break it trying to swap shells
LMFAO
oh thats hilarious
the precision to only keep your fingers on those paddles
reddit is incredible
Did they... wear a hole into the mouse? Wow that's some dedication
how
......
How much time must you be sweating your *** off on Fortnite, MW2, or COD to achieve that lmao.
does anyone know of a good mouse, I need to get a new one but dont know what one to get
DeathadderV2 solid
razer mice great
What speakers do you guys recommend? Preferably around $100 willing to go higher. I need to order it off of amazon.com.mx just a heads up and thank you in advance for helping me.
I never used them personally but Ive heard a lot about the Micca RB42
do you guys have any hot-swappable kb recommendations? my budget is $100 CAD (around that would be preferable)
kerchron v1
I raise your new keeb with a new mousepad
no you dont
Nice taiga pfp
Nice
ye
Yo, g305 or corsair katar? I'm just tryna get a cheaper wireless mouse
if usd, IF you only have the option between those 2, g305. if you want more options, try razer orochi v2. should be around the $38 mark or lower. would recommend that over g305 unless the g305 is like $15 rn
its better than both
np
a bid
lol
bruh
last time I bid on something, I got a mouse with the two clicking plates covered in sticky stuff
It’s fine, just let it happen
Still need to find some time to make more holes in the base
Mamba
how does the sound qualityy differ in overear headsets and earbuds
are earbuds worse, or it doesnt really matter
It all depends on your preference
Earbuds has a more closed soundstage, with everything being very clear and right in your ears
But headsets are cleaner and less annoying to use, while offering a wider soundstage (especially if open back) and you generally hear less details due to this distance between your ears and the driver itself
i got good grades , i tthink am gonna buy the galax buds 2
u guys think there is a better opttion?
i wouldnt say "less details", but "more realistic", as the sound is influenced by your ear shape, causing the sounds you hear to "make more sense" to the brain.
that being said, we're still talking miniscule differences
i do not dabble in earbuds enough to give a good suggestion, sorry
Fair enough
I do experience that moving from iem to headset
yea wired earbuds
but wired earbuds are wired
m keboard doesn register some buons someimes
as shown from my last message those buttons are t and y
but also , back space, tab , capslock and shift
sometimes they work sometimes they dont
i reinsalled the keyboard form deivce manager
and this reduced the issue
also , when i click that specific key alot the issue is fixed for half a minute
When i try to use my headphone jack on pc i cant hear the audio
And windows cant detect my headphone or speaker
Is the jack fully plugged in?
Yes
Update drivers
Audio drivers
In device manager?
What motherboard do you have?
What motherboard do you have?
But my monitor speaker is bad quality so i pick my headphone to change the audio, and notice this problem
That's because it's going through your gpu. Not the aux on your mobo. If you want further help in fixing your issue, I gotta know your motherboard.
colorful a320m-m.2 pro v14
I got this from my friend, my old asrock a320mhdv die because of mold
What windows are you using?
@regal stratus
Download this. Then install it. Restart PC. Then see if your headphones work.
https://download.colorful.cn/MotherBroard/Smart4/drivers/intel/i400/ALCHD_all.rar
I know
how can i forgot to install driver, almost though my friend scam me lol
Did it work?
On Restart
Oh yea,my hdd having 2 beep noice when booting, and os cant detect my hdd at all
It work thanks man
Odd that your hdd beeps.. they don't have speakers
Awesome.
Its not beep but sound ticking 2 times and my hdd unreadable by windows
Sounds like a bad drive
How do u even format hdd when your hdd cant see in windows
I want to format it
Even on bios the hdd not detect
If its bad, then you can't.
It's probably dead. Can check it in another pc though too see if it'll detect it.
Its dead probs, because icheck the sata and power with diff hdd and work
But that one hdd didnt
Yeah, time to just tear it apart and take the magnets out of it. 😁
All inside just epic steam and origin games
The magnets are fun. At least nothing useful was on the drive.
Maybe its overworked by me downloading tons of games
How old is the drive?
Of everyday use?
Oh. It probably got worked really hard then. Lasted 12 years though so.. nice.
Do i need to install something?,because this new board
Like??
i mean its audio driver, and what else for a new board
Have you done all your windows updates?
This windows is the same from asrock board
Oh. You didn't do a fresh install?
is that necessary
Usually yes. How long have you had this mobo?
My pc run fine on task manager cpu gpu memory storage, no heavy load
Asrock?
4years,its Because not used for month and mold come in
Ok, if you start running into issues that seem really odd and can't figure out what the cause is.. it's because you didn't install fresh windows with new mobo.
In that case ill just clean install my windows,
Good idea. When you do, make sure to let windows update install everything it can first. Most of the time it'll find all the drivers you'll need. If you come across something not working right then you can then try installing drivers manually.
Quick question, is it bad that I have 4 mouse softwares on my pc?
Depending on the softwares could just be acting as bloatware
But afaik not really
I've had three on mine at a time because I forgot to uninstall two and didn't have any issues
i have 3, technically 4 but i dont have a aorus mouse. i would have 2 more software's installed, hyperx and steelseries software but theyre garbo
the xtrfy mouse i have im able to adjust everything on the mouse so no need for software
i havent used my glorious mouse in like 2 years now so no need for their software
question on xbox series s should i use the hdmi cable that came with it or the on that came with my monitor? my monitor is a asus rog 27 in 1440p 170hz
They should be pretty similar, but I'd probably go with the one with the Xbox
Is it generally safe to buy a used wifi router?
Like factory reset it and everything. Is there a potential for any sort of malicious danger to buying one used?
Generally nah
A router can't be carrying malicious stuff unless someone intentionally does so
Some dude left their Glorious model D Dongle in a mouse I bought
need recs for desk speakers
idk nothin bout speakers so just like a general set of recs would be good
You looking for bookshelf speakers or something more manageable? I tbh also don’t know too much so take my recs with caution.

Anyone use wireless earbuds when it comes to gaming and chatting at the same time?
Wireless earbuds aren't gonna have very good latency btw but if it's just casual gaming any of the good earbuds would be good e.g. samsung galaxy buds, sony wf-100xm4, sony wf-c500,bose quiet comfort earbuds(2), senheiser momentum true wireless 3, google pixel buds (A)
As in I want to use them for discord chat and gaming. Like whenever I use my wireless earbuds I can hear sound but no one can hear me but when I change the speaker settings I hear low quality audio but everyone can hear me
Basically I want to use wireless earbuds like a usb mic
Oh yeah that's just a windows thing, you could try disabling the hands free audio setting in windows audio tho
Uhh why don't you try using the stereo(good sounding options) and a usb mic then?
I want to hear sound from my earbuds and chat at the same time basically
something smaller
really only asking this for family friends cause they cant get monitor audio to work and are too lazy to troubleshoot it
I feel like a lot of wireless earbuds have really bad microphones
agree
I can't even use mine for phone calls, I feel like they pick up too much background noise
Mine have hear through mode, I can hear the sound of wind clouding my own voice.
sound quality wise there are a few that are fine, just a matter of the environment youre in with what background noise its picking up
That’s a bandwidth limitation of bluetooth and there isn’t really a way around it. You would have to go wired or if there are any wireless iems that use their own low latency wireless transmission system which I have never heard of such consumer iems
What's the normal latency on wired out of curiosity?
Ok lacking an answer I looked it up and it's about 5-10ms, while the best "gaming, low-latency" earbuds I could find are 55ms
Oh wait one's 45ms
The lowest latency wireless headphone ive seen was about 16ms i believe
Ye it has a pretty big receiver

Yeah, I think the bose would be a better choice. Not only for sound, but they're super comfortable
$199 refurbished from the bose shop
Whats the best headset for gaming that you can get?
I dont really have a price range I care about
define best, big or small, wireless or wired?
By chance, does anyone have an idea as to what type of SSD enclosure would be needed to convert an internal SX8200 Pro PCle Gen3x4 M.2 2280 SSD into an external drive? Would a M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure work? Thanks in advance!
Yes pretty much any m.2 enclosure
Thanks, Wi-Fi!
Check #tech-deals if anyone needs a decent wireless mouse
Looking for a new set of keyboard key caps, what should I buy? have like $25-35 i could spend

does anybody know how to clean sticky rubber
soap and water?
WD40
ISO
What exactly are you trying to clean?
This
A palm rest made of rubber
Ah, yeah that's gonna need a good bit of Isopropyl (91% would be quicker than 70%) and cotton balls. You are gonna wanna soak that cotton ball a good bit and scrub that hard. I hate using ISO on adhesive on rubbery things because it's a pain in the butt, but since it's on your laptop that's what I'd recommend. Otherwise, I would use the WD40 because that stuff gets adhesive off so quick and easy.. It just leaves an oily residue that you then have to get off.. making it more work.
Ah okay thank yo7
Reason: Bad word usage
Those are some massive keycaps for a laptop
Aight I know I asked a lil while ago, but what I want changed a bit: Looking for a pair of wireless headphones, preferably not bluetooth as I'd have to buy a seperate bluetooth adapter. Budget around $150, but can go higher. Mostly looking for comfort and good directional audio
Do you really need a Pop Filter if you don't talk directly into your mic, just right next to it?
I dont use a pop filter and im fine without it
but would it make a difference if ur using one but talking next to it
cause don't the plosives like p and b only affect the mic if the air is going towards the mic
yes
Think Affirm is either playing an April fool's joke 4 months early, or their system hit my family's old eggnog recipe .... Was checking out a $240 order, I must have selected Affirm, which I do use sometimes, and was a bit shocked at what their system generated. Wanted to screenshot it to show Newegg service, just for kicks, but didn't realize the AP kicked in and wouldnt let me screenshot their offer, which I declined. Was only buying 4 128gb SD cards, camera bag, and flash. And 256gb NVME. Total was $240 and some change. The approved message, now that was funny. Your $240 Is approved, $638.17 down payment due now, with 12 monthly payments of $79.13. might be $89.13.. closed it before I accidentally do something like agree to it, knowing my luck.
Obviously chose another method lol.
Sounds like it was trying to trick you into a 1k loan lol
"Sure we'll finance this purchase... but you'll have to buy more"
It's something with an update to our phones. My wife got similar on Amazon earlier today. $288 sale, $850 down payment.
The affirm phone ap is plain out wonky today.
Could of been worse. Could have hit accept rofl.
Kind of reminds me of the old Tibiame game. Someone found a bug 10 years ago, where entering a negative amount got them their in game items free. Ones who abused it before it got patched out, ended up paying twice as much or get account banned.
Anyone know if these EQ settings are applied correctly? i have no clue how to change the "BW" value and idk how to "empty" Bands 7-10, so i should did everything as close to 0
What headphones and you can use the autoeq button to load presets
Microphone (Just the Mic) reccomendations? Budget 100-150 USD.
Hey, I recently reset my PC and am unable to hear any sound through my headphones which are my main output. Can anyone please help me out?
Did you install audio drivers?
finally it arrived!
nice
Hey guys, what volume percentage is safe to use for your headphones for a few hours of gameing I’m just concerned with my hearing health for the future, I think I’m ok right know, but I want to keep it that way for as long as possible, I use a razor kraken ultimate. How many decibels is safe and how many is at 50% of the volume?
It's not the same with every headset
Nor is it the same with every device you connect the headset to
Just make sure to listen at a volume as low as possible without being too quiet, or too loud
Like 35%
Do you think if I bought a sound decibel meter, it can detect how many decibels come off of it?
I dont really get the point of that
Just set the volume to what is comfortable for you
If it hurts your ears, it's too loud
If you can't hear it, it's too quiet
There's not really much science behind it
I hate to break it to you but there is a science behind it, there’s a volume that can produce just enough decibels to damage your hearing permanently over the course of gradual exposure to 85 dB or over. Anything under that apparently is ok to listen to without a time limit, but yeah I thought it wasn’t that deep epithet until I did some research.
Yes...
And that volume will hurt your ears
You don't need a decimeter to know it's too loud
That's like saying you need a thermometer to know if a 400° oven will burn you
I did not come here to argue, I came for information, you don’t have what I’m looking for, with that being said I’m going to ask you to do something. If you don’t want to awnser my question, because you think the entire concept of it is wrong from your subjective opinion, then don’t say anything about what I asked at all, I am not here to argue, I have a question, not a bone to pick.
Lol ok
They are giving you info and drop the attitude
I am using the information I’ve researched to find out about a question I have, this person for some reason seems to have a problem with my information I have, I didn’t come here to argue, I came for knowledge from a person with the same aspect of understanding of what I’m asking, yes it is information, I even tried to explain my position, but apparently that didn’t matter. I asked for this person to give the courtesy to show respect to others with questions and ideas they may not agree with, and if they don’t, it’s not there job to tell them they don’t need to be asking the question because they, an individual with their own opinions, tell someone else that the question they are asking is something they don’t understand. I don’t have an attitude my friend, I am typing this over text, how you perceive what is an attitude relies on what you’ve experienced through life.
Thank you I appreciate the information
It's just a fact that anything that hurts your ear is too loud
That’s not what I’m asking tho
There are phone apps for measuring levels that work decent enough
But yeah keeping it below 85 db is safe
Again thank you
Thanks bro I appreciate it
🤔
What are the best keyboards rn
prob keycult
Huh lol
jeez those are some expensive keyboards
what defines best at that level of price anyway? Material or quality
Feel, not really
Material, amounts to be quoted, design complexity, and ofc markup
The 2nd and 3rd usually what makes them expensive
Also i've never seen much keyboard ppl really believe in keycult
The price is most likely because it's a one-off design
even then its not worth
after getting a bunch of stuff made, youre really jus paying for kc name
imo the best stuff you can get is prob something from geon
since he does everything in house and actually cares about design, you can get a kb that is designed well for a lowish price
tbh its mainly the last one
ironically some of the more expensive stuff that run are super simple
at the moq they run at, prices are p simlar across the manufacturer
Hey i'm thinking about picking up the hd560s, but is there anything else I should consider?
Is Glorious Gaming's keyboards worth it? Keychron's been such an issue for me, that I gotta find another brand lol
G305
if you can find glorious's keyboards on sale, then theyre aight. they used to be good in terms of price compared to other stuff even with their mice but theyve raised the prices across the board to the point where its a bit questionable to buy their products with where the price is
looking for a wireless gaming mouse sub 30 if possible, what are my best options rn?
gaming Genre?
both of these are just over $30 but, razer orochi v2 is my recommendation. the g305 can go down to like $28 but id still recommend the orochi v2 over it
mostly fps, but it will be mostly for my father for web browsing, but when i come home i want to be able to play it
the orochi and g305 are small mice if that makes a difference
if you want a bigger one, Razer Basilisk X aint bad
but i think the g305 may be the move, on sale for 35 at bb and i have a coupon for 5 off there and can get it tomorrow and give it to him by christmas,
i main the g305, i think its fine, def a bit small but ive gotten used to it. he just had a dell ewaste mouse now
this might be a stupid question but im looking to use rtings website to calibrate my monitor but i dont see where to input the numbers they have to calibrate it. is this something certain i need/ have to do to be able to do so?
windows color management
You guys have any good wireless headset recommendations that are around 120 USD
And not hyperX, tried and hated
Increase that to 150
Sorry for late reply. I looked into their pricing and it's insane still. It used to be guud, I'm not sure what happened (assumed it was inflation) and now it's even more expensive even the latest keyboard. Might pick up a Ducky TKL.
If you're gonna do that just go get a rk or akko board tbh
Or leopold if you don't care about modding capabilities anymore
just get like a keychron v1'
cheaper than a GMMK and a ducky keyboard
and i cant imagine it could be any worse
Aqua look into Steelseries, pretty good quality stuff
Which one?
Ducky can't even be that bad
and they cant be any good
Keychron has issues too, so what's even a better rec?
Not trying to debate or anything, it's just trying to get the jist of which brand has there pros and cons. It's just with Keychron I had a some issues with is all.
What issues do you have with keychron?
Ooo we talking keyboards.
I guess after a year, it resulted in bluetooth issues, charging issues, it would outright stop responding out of nowhere during times when using it are things that come to mind. You could think the bluetooth issues is a personal problem, but it seems it's common.
Well im comparing the keychron to other non bluetooth keyboards
and V series keyboards arent bluetooth
It's just that due to the experience I kind of don't want to do anything with Keychron atm at least.
I'll just keep looking thanks for the advice though guys
I only really have experience using their wired keyboards, and they've all been good. Keychron offers better features for the price than Ducky, and it just makes more sense to go with keychron in most cases imo
My k4 is great, much better than the others I've used
I mean I'm glad you guys/gals got guud experience. I just wished I got the same. I'll just have to think about it more.
Look into it. My friends say they sound real nice. Arctis 1 wireless is the one they have
Also which HyperX headset was bad? The cloud ii?
I think the stinger and revolver are bad
cloud stinger is pretty bad ya
ok so i took my keyboard apart because i heard something rattling inside and apparently one of the stabilizers is loose
somehow the clip came undone on the left shift
and the board is soldered
so how would i go about putting this stabilizer thing back in 💀
i really dont want to have to desolder this thing lol
should be able to just lift the part that goes up and down and be able to put the metal stab back in
if that makes any sense
actually
how do that even happen
which is why i’m worried about having to desolder
you should be able to just stick it back in
It came up with the keycap
how its angled is how you should put it back in, top then bottom and should click back in
might have to raise that plastic part that goes up and down
should have like 2 holes, the bottom hole of that plastic part is where the metal part should go in
Looks like clip in stabs, you can get the left side out so you can line the wire up better if you want
Soo
I managed to accidentally get a stab out and i cannot intentionally get the other one out
You see the lil plastic tab thing
Idk if this is helpful but the bar isn’t going in the clip
I’m just trying it without the actual stab part for now bc it was in the way
Push this in to get it out
Oh i can raise it fine but the clip won’t come undone from the bar
Like you want to take the plastic housing off the wire?
he's trying to get the wire back in
Yeah but if getting the other side out helps then i’ll try
soldered board is such a nightmare
Oh it's soldered
I was just about to tell you to get the switch out to get the stab out lmfao
To get it back on, might need to insert the wire into the housing with the housing rotated
Basically screw around until the wire slips into the hole and you can twist it back into the correct orientation
Sounds like rattle but oh well
goofy lego ah soundin keyboard
Fr
So I'm looking for some new headphones since I'm probably am gonna be getting a dedicated mic here soon
I'd like to stick around a budget where I don't have to go over $70, cheaper the better, but I don't wanna buy actual garbage
ik you said $70 but the ones i have are $80 rn - https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-559-Open-Headphone/dp/B01L1IIEKM
i think they sound amazing but open back could be a deal breaker for some
Powered by Sennheiser's proprietary transducer technology for truly excellent sound performance, the open back HD 559 is the ideal choice for listeners seeking an optimal blend of all-round performance and quality for home entertainment. It serves up a satisfying deep bass sound. With its full si...
What's open back?
Also $10 isn't too bad, I'll check them out
Hmmmm, alright doesn't look too bad
Well, those look like a good option, but do you think you could find a cheaper backup option?
tldr its too expensive
It's not that, it's just I don't wanna count my eggs before they hatch
I don't know how much I'm gonna get for Christmas
Headphones and $70 is a hard thing to play around lol
IEMs are more competitive in the $20, $50, to $100 range
You'd have waaay more chances finding good ones
Alright, understandable
I appreciate it
History of Tofu65 The first iteration of the Tofu65 was born around October 2019, until October 2022, we have sold more than 26,000 units! Tofu65 is very popular in the community, and it is also the first customized mechanical keyboard for many enthusiasts. The minimalist design and low price made it an excellent entry
im personally not a fan of how top case fits with the bottom
or at least how it looks
Nice, I figured it'd be good for a weight reduction project
Did my Dad get me a decent mic for Christmas?
Not familiar with that particular model, so only way to find out is plugging it in lol
how do i change the dpi on a hyperx mouse
i got a new mouse and wanna change the dpi (or whatever it is called) on it
there should be a dpi button right next to the scroll wheel
if not, check under the mouse. also if not, then use the software
i have a button on the middle, dont know how to use it
ive clicked it many times and nothing has happened
also i would like to use the software bc part of the mouse glows and it would be fun to change the color maybe
just click it, that changes the dpi. if your mouse has rgb, then the light of the rgb will change according to the dpi level
red is typically 400, then 800, then either 1200 or 1600
ngenuity. its on hyperx's website. you can either download it through microsoft store or an actual exe file
What's a good mouse, that doesn't really get the double click problem?
razer viper ultimate
is buying from razer ok?
97.99
ok ill check there
hmm
anyone have a recommendation on a desktop amp+dac that can run 300ohm headphones at $150 or lower?
are the akg k361 good for playing games and listening to music with out an amp/dac?
Anyone know if Cafunhe is a good micro sd card brand?
That brand of sd card is obviously a scam tbh
Who on their right mind would sell a 512 gigs sd card for 10 bucks
schiit fulla can work at 110$, zen dac used to be around 140$ if you can find it around that prices, sadly about 200$ now
It has to be an instant no since bluetooth has bad input latency for gaming
don't they have both wired and wireless?
Hm, not sure honestly
If it could be used wired, then it's fine
The sound itself is bassy and not very bright
At least according to rtings measurements
are the Sennheiser HD 560S a better option do you know?
They're pretty good as far as neutral sound goes
Open back of course so you'll hear everything outside, and it leaks sound
They're basically like little speakers due to the open back nature, so everyone nearby can hear what you're listening to
good to know thank you. I think I am going to go with the akg k361's
I have a question keyboard gang
So I just found out KBDFans will never be restocking Tofu60 Acrylic cases anymore.. Anyone know a case thats just as good or similar in dimensions ?
whats agood speaker that doesnt hurt the budget maybe under 50$ cad
I was wondering what wireless gaming mouse and keyboard or peripheral bundle you would recommend for a total of 150
bundle as in it has to come in a bundle or you just mean together to add up 150?
bundle wise, you mightve missed out on some good bundles but check for any razer bundles. they tend to be pretty good value.
together to make up $150. for mice i pretty much recommend any razer mouse; Viper Ultimate (with dock) might still be $55 rn. some other mice to consider would be logitech (g502, g305, g705 [I think its called the g705])
for keyboard, anything keychron that suits your needs. rk royal kludge; whichever fits your needs
