i can, but why upgrade older generation parts for the same price i can build a new one
it means you have a psu with a lot of cords attached
is getting a full modular better
since your case it a matx i would advise that or a semi modular
also whats the rating of that psu
its 4 stars
lmao nvm nvm
would you consider that decent
just link it
i'll tell you what the "rating" is
okay you see where it says "gold" in the titl;e
**title
yea?
theres a rating system for psu where the higher rating the more efficient it is
it goes from 80+
so this one is good?
ight bettt
man, im scared tho
why?
its kinda hard to do imo
i've already watched so many building videos
im pretty comfortable with touching the parts im so familiar with in the videoes
**videos
also all the parts should come with a warranty
so dont be too scared lmao
but that costs extra money?
dont the warranties cost money
no like a manufacturer warranty
ah ok
thats not much
just lmk if you have anymore questions or want to lower the build price to get better peripherals and such
truee
but you'll be fine
im off to bed now gn
lata
@mild jackal any suggestions for z490 motherboards?
Budget?
under $250 or around there
If you're not an overclocker nerd, I'd shop around that price range on the brand of your preference, pick based on preference for looks + features.
I like Asus.
yeah theres like no reviews for them yet so im kinda lost lol
huh theres already a b460 board
Hello i just purchased 2 days ago an Asus ROG B450 F-Gaming mobo from newegg and I’m gonna pair it with a Ryzen 3700x will it work ? Does the motherboard have the latest bios to support 3rd gen ?
yes it should @burnt flare
does anyone know where I can get a 10600k/where I should be looking for it?
maybe places like newegg, B&H, microcenter, etc.

Hey, I want to to get a GIGABYTE B450M DS3H motherboard for my Ryzen 5 3600, but I'm not sure if it will come with the updated bios. Does anyone know if there is a way to get it updated before it gets shipped or is it kind of just luck of the draw?
i believe most of the newer ones come with it but im not too sure
just check the reviews i suppose and see what they're saying
Damn
whats going on with the prices of 1000w power supplies.....
the psu market is really wacky rn
$1000 lmao
freaking dollar a watt
laughs in supermicro https://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPERMICRO-PWS-1K62P-1R-1620W-80-PLUS-PLATINUM-POWER-SUPPLY/313075245431
$25 / 1620w platinum server psu
lmao its gonna blow up
Anyone know how much wattage the power delivery system on an ASRock b450m/ac can give?
Check the 2nd pin
B450m/ac isn't on there... which one would be the closest?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1aNUuLCWCjbbuB255mDsG47RpT2LU9dSgEMW9kQe9gL0/edit#gid=0
This isn't the best organized table, but as far as I checked the numbers are valid
if my mobo says "Supports DDR4 Memory, up to 3466+(OC) MHz " does this mean I can use 3600mhz ram or 3466mhz is the limit
What mobo exactly?
What brand?
msi?
Do you have 3600MHz memory to test it on?
nah im gonna order parts
What CPU do you have?
I ordered the ryzen 5 3600
Depending on which msi board it is you should be able to pull it off. How much more expensive is the 3600MHz ram?
the ram sticks are 83
Where are you ordering them from?
newegg
SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0.. Dont know much about this but would it run just as well on an AMD MOBO
@polar fern I believe newegg would let you return if it doesn't work, but I would check with their official customer service first
@dire wharf Is this the ram you already have?
i might just get a diff mobo maybe
b550 should be here soon 🙂
No its just cheaper than the non (S)Ram. I havent built my pc yet still researching
I am waiting on the B550 along with the new Ryzens to come out before I build just learning as much as i can in the mean time
What ram are you comparing to that 3600 is cheaper?
@polar fern I'd say it would be worth a shot 🙂
Same ram as far as speed but it is DRAM vs SRAM and it doesnt say intel xmp
Im sorry its SDRAM vs DRAM
Do you have links you can share? You'll have to remove the http part for now
Yea give me a minute
👍
cant put links up actually here
Just take off the http and it will work
They both should be xmp, the other just doesn't say it
Ok so the intel part shouldnt matter?
Nope, I'm running ram with intel xmp on an amd system right now
I am curious though as to why the one kit is sdram and the other is dram
well in the link they both say sdram so maybe they both are
Possibly
The main difference in the prices are probably more from the timings than anything else. The more expensive ram has less latency
ahh gotcha and how noticeable would that be?
mATX is micro atx
Wait, you got 3600?
yea
no this is my first build
why does a mobo say wifi? but its cheaper?
why is that so?
yes am4
Same chipset though? Are they both b450?
yea
Huh
On a side note, are you sure the mobo you had before doesn't support the 3600? It should
The link you posted that you said wouldn't work
Yup
woke up this morning and it was gone
Welcome to the club 🙂
W
should be, unless you have really hot components, i dont see the need to add top exhaust, but your system would possibly run cooler than without it
What motherboard would people recommend paired with a Ryzen 5 3600? I tried getting the B450 Tomahawk max but its always out of stock xD
B450 Aorus pro
so looking to build my PC what are the pro and cons of intel vs AMD?
save your money and get amd @naive pendant
its just a less expensive platform with more to offer at a given price point
what are the pros of AMD
^^
just cost?
well their price to performance ratio is better and they offer more cores at a lower price
the only thing they dont beat intel in is gaming but beat them in every other benchmark
but they dont lose by much at all and you'll be saving more money
well I am looking for a peak gaming PC, if cost wasn't an issue would you go Intel?
nah still no prolly not
their new 10th gen chips barely outcompete amd last gen chips
with that being said
saving money on the amd platform allows for greater spending elsewhere
like the gpu
I already have a nice GPU
say you got the newest i5 but since it's a little on the pricey side you'd have less money to spend on other components
ohh ok
what u got?
going use the 2080ti in my current rig for my first build
yeah i mean if u wanna save money to put elsewhere then amd
if u dont really care about cost then intel
I mean is the performance better, even if not by much?
but amd is releasing some new chips in July which are supposed to beat intels current gen even though the new amd chips are on an older architecture
yes technically it is
but if you want to wait until July the new amd chips are going to beat intel even in gaming
and when will intel release their new core
gotcha ty
thanks for your insights
yw
When are the b550 boards releasing?
can i update my cpu?
Thx
What do you need to update for?
Is your mb not up to date
Also what cpu are you running?
rhyzen 1600
O
Oh then you should be fine I would imagine
Ik like I don't understand
Like idk what ur trying to say
Only thing to update is bios
msi live update says amd chipset driver
idk what is it
x570 ITX boards are like impossible to find in stock.
ETA for my board has been getting pushed back for a month now.
To the point that it will be in stock on the 16th.
Boards in general are like impossible to find
Egg you’re blue now
Sadly yes
no
No job= no nitro
I'm wondering if I should just get a b550 board when they release, or even a b450 if I can find one. I have heard that AMD has teething issues with new stuff in general. Can you confirm this?
@tulip talon hopefully
Howdy, stupid question. Am I supposed to update the bios/ ufei before a cpu upgrade or after the new cpu is installed?
What motherboard and which cpus?
what motherboard
LGA 1155
thats the socket
is this a dell optiplex?
Yeah...
which one, is it a 3010, 7010, or 9010
390
oh, fancy
Why thank you
i assume you have a 2nd gen i3?
Yep
so you can only get 2nd gen cpus, even though the 3rd gen ones will physically fit
I see
so, after you update the motherboards bios, you can pop in one of these
ty
also dont forget to buy replacement thermal paste
you will want to clean off that really old crud and put on new stuff
anyone have any idea how to get aurus sync to recognize my gskill trident z royal ram? tried a few things, and im about near to just doing a fresh windows install to see if that works
... I wish I could afford the Trident Royal RAM. It's so pretty and shiny.
it is, but i wish i could sync the RGB
Though I've nearly talked myself into getting some Trident Zs. Nearly.
Neos look nice if you can't afford the uncanny valley jewellery store Royals
Neo is great, I can sync it with Mobo :p
Neo gang >:D
Delta RGB gang
I accidentally wiped it a little in the middle but otherwise, how does this spread look
oooga
Wut
good
k lol
@hollow thorn ouch bro....ouch
i'd say google it and check forums, maybe reseat ram sticks. i have aura with trident rgb and it works. i had a few issues with aura and ended up downloading an older version of the software
occassionally the ram sticks still don't show up but works most of the time after i restart
@weak crown wat?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
is there a noticable difference in 3200mhz ram vs 3600mhz
Neo is great, I can sync it with Mobo :p
@hollow thorn
If you're using a zen2 cpu, get 3600
why is that an ouch
those who bought the i9 10900 k is it worth it? Does it beat the ryzen 9 3900X?
or those who bought the i7 10th gen
anyone who bought an intel 10th cpu
and should i get an amd cpu or an intel cpu
yes
for amd XT series
when is that coming out
oh thats the gpu
well i still think that the rtx 3080 will beat the navi
ok
Does anyone know of a mobo that is compatible with the R5 3600 and in stock?
Will there be a huge difference in performance 3000vs 4000 amd
Likely yes
There's supposedly a decent perf jump between the two
Somewhere between 0%-50% increase in ipc 🙂
It might not be noticable in most things, just depends on what your using the PC for
One thing that it will make a diference for though... intel will no longer be able to tout the "5%" benefit
a320 boards are compatible with 3200g right?
Which a320 board?
what is the best memory for overclocking that can reach really good speeds and good latency
4x16
I know but could you suggest me a kit
Would anyone have any idea why i can't run the xmp profile on my comp? ASROCK b450 pro4 and i5-9600k
is your ram in slot 2 and 4
yes
Wdym can't run XMP, what does it do when you try
won't boot, boot cycles
so like if ram is 1 2 3 4 starting with one in the far left and 4 in the far right, your ram should be in slot 2 and 4
what mobo and what ram
Are you selecting the correct profile, sometimes there are multiple
Vengeance lpx?
Deafkid I assume you're checking qvl now
yeh trying to lol
Also check ram max freq if you can, pro4 has weird max frequency per channel on b450, prob same on z370
z370, that was my bad
Directly from the page..
Supports DDR4 4300+(OC)* / 4266(OC) / 4133(OC) / 4000(OC) / 3866(OC) / 3800(OC) / 3733(OC) / 3600(OC) / 3200(OC) / 2933(OC) / 2800(OC) / 2666 / 2400 / 2133 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
should work
should i try putting the updated bios on it?
might try with one stick of ram and see if it works?
tried that
could try that but i dont think it will help. doesnt hurt to try

to see what
Different board have preferences for single stick
and to see which bios
@floral breach motherboard support page
They always have manual you can download there
Just check which slot it likes
prefers 2 and 4
see the thing is
Thought mobos had a single preferred slot for single stick of ram
this one doesn't say you can even run it on 1
my cousin and i have the same mobo and same spec ram, the DOCP works on mine but not his and we could never figure out why it didnt 🤷♂️ we couldn't find a solution
Did manual timings and freq work
not smart enough for that
you can try setting it manually but idr what you should be setting it to
yeah but it was a long time ago so i dont remember exactly what we did
Tried to put the new profile on with 3200 speed ram, and i don't know if it's memory training or boot cycling
@hollow thorn
Wait and see
Ok
Just a sec
(gonna assume out of stock is fine and just looking around)
yuppers
Anyways continue on
anyways, CPU is 3950x/4950x, which chould both work on X570, pice isn't that hard but I would say under $300 if possible, and its for rendering. I am looking for it to be black as well
Sweet
That looks like it would be nice with my case and components
And it should work with the 4950X right?
Just a reminder, it's a high end board, normal x570 boards are around the 200$ mark, high end boards are paying a premium for looks and slightly better features.
Unless AMD decides to pull a quick one, it should.
Do remember to just take a stroll around mid end x570 boards as a whole to see if any of those tickle you fancy
very rare to need more then the base x570
Like what is it that you need? triple NVMe, dual RJ45, four x16 PCIe?
Do remember to just take a stroll around mid end x570 boards as a whole to see if any of those tickle you fancy
@hollow thorn I shall, do you have any more reccomendations for dark black boards, the darker the better
I will be running 2x GPU's and an M.2 expansion card
Gigabyte x570 aorus elite had a silver chipset fan thing but still an option
Looking at the asus
Ye, so no real need to go for super x570 as I'd call it unless you need that specific look
I am going for a very high end build so I would like to get a future proof case and stuff
@long geyser can you check the real differences between the unify and plus?
*mobo, not case
unify and tuf plus?
Yes
I don't like the asus. I am looking for slid black
If your going very high end why you going with the mid tier gpu?
what u doing with the pc?
too much work on mobile and I'm lazy
Alright fair enough
2060 ko had performance like 2080 in workstation tasks like blender.
I am going for a 2060KO because it is a render rig
Therefore dual 2060ko is very good value for them
ah
and I am going to use my current 1080 as a gaming card, then upgrade to a better card for gaming later
specific rendering stuff
make sure that what you're doing actually is well off with a 2060KO
It does, I render in blender, and it has RTX optix support and the 2060KO is 27% faster than a 2060 for the same price
okay
new egg has the unity for $450 lmao
wtf howd they mess up this much on the ko lol
other places have for $300, but they aren't in stock like new egg
wtf howd they mess up this much on the ko lol
@deep vigil What do you mean?
howd they manage to not realize they were adding performance onto the card for no extra price
It's a cut down 2080
I mean I think that is kinda a mess up
They knew
Whyd they do it then?
It's not just somehow the sillicon is better
They knew, it games like a 2060, but crunches like a 2080
they didn't wanna waste stock, thats why
I believe defective 2080 silicon / badly binned that does badly at gaming
But still keeps cores for workstation tasks
Hei might know more
Yeah, like it has all the RT and tesnor cores
*tensor
but its cuda has been binned down
hmm
Its $300 for a 2060KO
6GB RAM
and I am honestly gonna wait for next gen GPU's because they are gonna have way better RT
I am gonna wait for RTX 3000 and Ryzen 4
Okay 1am I slep now
Unify is a very good looking board :p
night
@hollow thorn Sleep well! Thankls for the help!
You're welcome, thank you.
Unify being better: VRMs (tho kinda eh of actual difference unless LN2), 2-digit debug light LED, built in buttons for CMOS clr and pwr, one more x16 PCIe, supports SLI (tho you are doing workstation which SLI doesnt work in usually, just multi GPU), 4 less SATA ports, one more NVMe port, better WiFi controller, better LAN chip (1GbE vs 2.5GbE), better sound chip setup, one more USB 3.1 port, two more USB 2.0 ports, two less USB 3.0 ports, two more 5V RGB headers, one less 12v RGB headers
All in all, Unify isnt worth it unless you really need one of the specific things
I am looking for a solid black mobo, thats really what the criteria is
and I mean SOLID black
by "M.2 expansion card" do you mean one of those x16 PCBs with four M2 slots?
Then tuf plus isnt ideal due to only two x16 physical ports
I mean this is a very high end PC, I won't haave to upgrade for a long time so I can expect to have a lot of storage
only other physical ports are x1
I dislike the TUF anyways
I have a TUF now and its fine, but Its not solid black :/
or a mobo with good RGB integration... I am willing to look at those as well
This one is good too, but I think its even more
ASUS Pro WS X570-Ace
allowing for some silver accents does allow for a lot more options
Silver is fine
I would say no color, bur greyscale is fine, as long as its not over like 50% grey, you know?
Just NO color
I do not want a color Bias in my PC
I mean, there is like Gigabyte UD which is like 45% grey... Not 50% therefore good.... /s
I mean 50% grey as in brightness
like nothing more than 50% brightness grey
I think that mobo is too much for me haha
Ohhh, i found a board i like
Ill look at cheapest board that meets the stuff. Tho gotta do other stuff rn so may be an hour or two
I like this one
ROG Strix X570-E Gaming
It is black and has RGB, I am a huge fan
and I am already used to Asus Bios
Yeah, I wish they branded the tuf as Rog
Or just asus
Like great specs and price, but they are ugly
I have a TUF, I just want a solid black board, and the RGB is a huge bonus
Yh, I love my rog board. Think it's pretty much the best looking mobo brand in general
Oh, that sucks. Always have pcle expansion tho
Yeah, and it has 5 PCIE slots
nevermind, dual m.2 ^^
oh... that was the F, not the E, that one is $400
nope! E has 2 as well haha
Hold up... they are the same board but one is $100 more???
They often have different varients of the same chipsets
Check specs
But it might just be corrona pricing
The boards are the exact same
Well, the cheaper one has more awards lmao
Here is the cheaper
Here is the more expensive
oh, the cheaper one has another RGB accent
Look on asus's website. They look the same but might have different sound cards or something
Same sound card too
You sure there isn't a m2 slot under one of those shrouds
I already said they both have dual M.2 haha
also, this is the cheaper with the awards
ok, so it looks like the more expensive one if the lower model
The more expensive one has less RGB and no wifi
The e has m2
both do
Oh, missiled that
misread? lol
F this keyboard. Man
Yeah
Sweet, means good things for me lol
@vapid mist cheapest triple x16 board
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4qsnTW/gigabyte-x570-aorus-pro-wifi-atx-am4-motherboard-x570-aorus-pro-wifi
apart from UD of course
@long geyser Ihave decided to go with the Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming
pretty sure the Asus Hero is higher end and was cheaper when I last checked 4 hours ago @vapid mist
I am honestly looking for a board with good looks
The features of the board I sent are pleanty for me
Hero and Strix are quite similair in looks
Would you link please?
I have been helping a few people with PC stuff for hours and I am quite tired. I would greatly appreciate bit
*it
ah wait. Was looking at Strix F prices, not E
Tis is $360 for hero without WiFi for better VRMs and IO
Tho Aorus Pro and Strix E do look quite similair tbh and E, when in stock (which isnt rn afaik), is still $30 more then Aorus Pro
I do not like the aorus at all, but thank you anyways! I do appreciate your help!
The orange lighting seems to be RGB so color fairly colorless except for the four small red caps(?) at bottom left corner
If I am being honest, I am a bit of an Asus lover, and I am already used to their software and bios and stuff
It would just be easier for me and I greatly prefer the looks of the Asus
Eh, if it works then it works ig. Tho hope that you truly kit out that system. If that money for looks could've gone for perf you'll probs hear me complain like I usually do
You're gonna complain about my AIO then lmao
I mean, some AIOs out there are extremely good
Hi I’m currently gutting out an old workstation pc and was wondering if this i5-2500 would be usable in a gaming rig
Such as NZXT X62/X63 being some of the best liquid cooling performers, beating some custom loops due to very high fin density. Arctic Freezer II being very good at noise normalized perf
@heady ivy It'd be usable. Tho dont think I'd pair it with anything higher then a 2060
what do yall think of Asus PRIME z490-a for gaming? also, what makes a motherboard "good" for overclocking
Could someone send me a link to a really good Samsung b die kit 4x16
Find Samsung B-Die DDR 4 memory kits on Amazon, Newegg and many more.
depends which you prioritize more the second has lower latency and the 1st has higher clock speed, ryzen really likes high clocks
@midnight pollen which one can overclock better tho I’m going to be overclocking since it’s Samsung B Die.
what ram should i get to use with this mobo the cpu would be a ryzen 5
Anywhere from 3000-3600MHz would be good. I'd shoot for 16gb so do a 2x8gb kit. CAS latency 18 is fine
Did you mean to link to a ram cooler or the actual ram?
B/c a fan on your ram is entirely unnecessary
lol
The actual ram is solid, but I wouldn't pay almost 300 euros for a 16 gb kit and a fan
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-3466MHz-Desktop-HX434C16FB3K2-16/dp/B07WJJJ27P/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
Like here in the US, the same ram is $100
2 of these https://www.newegg.com/amp/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232903 or 2 of these https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232797?item=N82E16820232797
Which one is better for overclock?
And would overclock better right
Yeah. XMP rated to 3600 means you can probably go further than ram rated at 3200 manually. (I'm like 99 percent sure but I haven't actually manually OC ram)
It’s going to be cooled like heck too since I have a fish tank build
I just realized that I need to get a new desk...
Oh, am I purple now?
I can't tell, the color on this monitor is horrible
nope, still blue
Heads up to anyone looking for x570 ITX boards. Newegg seems to have the Gigabyte x570 I Aorus Pro WiFi in stock.
wanna give me some
Sure how much you need?
🤔 those 2 slots looking kinda empty in my mobo
wow theo slacking cant even catch rules being broken
Shiny
i've thought about upgrading to 32GB, i push my 16GB sometimes when i'm trying to multitask
Why not
I also can't sell you anything as that would be in direct violation with #rules
Isn't that right Theo
He's watching btw.
🤔 this is why something called dms exist

everybody run theos here
something something cpu
could someone link me some g skill trident z royals
3200-3600 CL16 4x8gb
for $200 or less
any idea when the 10900k will be available?
nah want that gaming performance
Due to corona stock is wacky
anyone got anything on the royals?
A tiny percent performance for a lot more money, but if you know you're throwing money away, do your thing.
I mean if your spending like 4k on a pc for gaming I mean do what u want
yeah ive looked everywhere ccant find it anywhere that is msrp or i cant even find any retailers that give a estimated date of restock
I guess I'll just get the ones i've been eyeing up at $220
i mean i have 2700x i have a new board its time for the best intel besides ryzen i cant stand for gaming
But at the end of the day, same thing, if you know you're throwing money away for looks, do your thing.
I just want 4 sticks of ram
yesh
I would like assistance in "ricing" my pc as we say in the car community
2nd gen is trash compared to 3rd gen ryzen in gaming lol
the reason I want the silver royals is because they'll reflect the lighting nicely
2nd gen to 3rd gen ryzen yes lol
my build's gonna be black and red with silver accents
The iPC improvements really show
I'll hit you guys up when i get it built
Yeye
mmmmmmmmmmmm
i have compared the 2700x to most of the 3rd gen processors and they really dont beat it much for the cost
Someone was building with a x570 unify, I really wanted to see if but no idea if it's in #build-pics yet
the 10900k stomps it
B550 is god tier
I mean pull up benchmarks with 3950x and 10900k
@tardy depot what gpu u going with?
i have the 1080ti
mmmmmmmmmm
Are you upgrading your card.....
I'm gonna run a 3060 and something like a 3700x or 3800x
Or just the processor
im not gonna upgrade it until 3080ti comes out
But throwing money away is fine as long as you know you're doing it >:D
with the aorus B550 elite
and the royals
this belongs in build chat dontcha think?
@hollow thorn i think he has big cash
Yea
It's not throwing it away if you know what you want
If you're gonna drop 4000$ I can't say much
Most people spend $$$ on ram/cpu other performance related stuff thinking it's a night or day difference
But people try for like 9900k at 1500$
When it's not
Just no
I'm gonna spend about 2-3k on my pc
B550
3700x
or 3800x
whatever I can find used
and also an RTX 3060
gigabyte
i mean ill just sell my old 1080ti and 2700x and make most of my money back no biggie
I have a more budget oriented mindset for builds
the gigabyte cards are so clean
I'd rather have more bang for the buck
and then I'll bling it up with the royals
and then whatever PSU I can find
all in the antec P120
with a touch of Kraken Z73
and lots of RGB fans
but I'm gonna be the cringy edgy kid that sets all the RGB to red
Eh forks there's always dimishing returns
and just listens to angry doom music
1x8gb and 2x8gb ram differences are clear as day
10900k and 10600k basically no difference
very big secks
@hollow thorn was going to go ryzen but my parents who ultimately have the final say talked to my uncle who said go intel because he had problems with like really old amd stuff
mmmmmmmmmmmmm
Rip it's alright tho
And so my parents were like listen to him
You went z390 right
So I was like well sh$t
I'm a ryzen gang
Because z390 at least you'll have fun tuning memory
God damn lol
lmao
@naive pendant I really like the solid black unify lol
B550 gang
lmao
it looks nice
but it's too dark
I need at least a little bit of lighting
that I can set to red
I like that gigabyte board
apparently it has really good overclocking for 10900k
Huh
50A power stages
The one sinister posted
I think it would look nice
I remember buildzoid talking about tomahawk x570 with good 60A power stages
i mean there are better ones but you will spend 380+
B550 is godly
So might not be great
@tardy depot that's the problem with z490 xD
appearance is all that matters
@hollow thorn ye no budget boards for z490 yet
I slep now
Unify amazing imo
sure
Gamers Nexus indeed.
Gn
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
so all i need is newegg to stock the 10900k and ill be set lol
is the cooler im running
i dont thhink ill be able to get 5.3 ghz but at least 5.1-maybe 5.2
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
what cooler would you recommend no bigger than a 240?

b550 is only nice if it can rival b450 TUF Pro price to perf
Heh meatsink
cheap but good amount of M2 slots and good sound chip
Also AIO wise I'd only go NZXT x62/x63 or Arctic Freezer II
hmm
NZXT is basically best raw perf with acceptable low noise and Freezer II is basically best noise normalized perf
this might be a dumb question, but how would I go in terms of adding wifi to my pc?
there's a few ways
lowest effort is buying a USB WiFi thing
next up in terms of effort is a PCIe/M.2 WiFi module, which could be in a normal PCIe expansion card form, Mini PCIe, or M.2
and then there's getting a board that has a WiFi module built into it
I guess it depends on the situation what level of effort it takes, not much anyway
I see youtubers use some anti-static thing, do I need to build with that too?
well
not really
just touch something that discharges electrostatic buildup before handling electronics
and every now and then during the process
I don't have any grounding equipment, would be nice to have though
if you've got anything with exposed metal nearby, just hold that for like a second every so often while you work
they are actually quite cheap
I might just buy one with a screw driver kit
thanks for the help
Remember that you do need to hook up the clamp on an ESD mat to something metal for them to be effective
That's the thing youtubers use, or at least one of them
They aren't strictly required but they help. The mats have a wire with a clamp on one corner that you're supposed to stick on something metal
ah ok
someone said something about carpet being bad with anti static
if i have wood would that slightly help
ah ok
so would i just plug my psu and install it
and touch it once every few minutes?
to stop the build up?
It's janky but can work. Most would juist recommend touching the case's metal bits every so often
you van plug the psu into the wall, but keep it off
yeah
MB I want is out of stock.... Hope they are available soon... Ordered everything and some were canceled.... The MB... So now have to wait...le sigh lol
So, I fixed an issue I posted about several days ago.. TridentZ Royal RGB not being recognized by ASUS AURA. I had to do a fresh windows install....but it worked...

when are the Ryzen XT cpus coming out
July maybe 🤞
yes
assuming they release them to retail and not OEM's only, but with nothing confirmed, who knows
but rumors are pointing to announcement in the next couple of weeks maybe
with release in july
awesome. Im gonna pair one of those with a 3070
Are they supposed to be zen 3?
Still
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
¯_(ツ)_/¯
My guess is that the xt was just scheduled to make sure intel couldn't claim any big wins with 10th gen, but that's just me
Maybe
Or AMD has been holding back their highest performing CCD's
Well im building my new pc when the new 3000 cards come out. The 4000 series Ryzens are supposed to be sometime in 2021 and im not wating that long
XT was probs AMD refining the process to a higher yield on better binned parts I'd guess
huh?
TL;DR XT goes brrrrrrrrr
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/mr_loobylou/saved/ are the ram sticks good?
Or should I get different ram sticks
I need help
I just installed 32 gb of ddr4 ram gskill ripjaw 3200
And when I changed it to 2666 to 3200 my pc won't start
I have the ryzen b450 pro 4 mobo
did you set the speed and timings manually or did you enable docp?
so xmp doesn’t start?
nope it either sets it to 1866 or something or doesn't load into windows at all
I check my mobo asrock b450 pro4 and it says I can set my ram to 32000
**3200
did you overclock your cpu at all?
okay can you get into the bios or doesn’t it just not start
is there a profile 1 and 2 for the ram?
Just have the xmp 1 profil
some other people have had issues with ripjaws kits on ryzen 2000, and some of them said to take a ss of all the timings and see if you can manually run 3200mhz with the same timings, or increase SoC and dram voltages a little (under 1.175 and 1.4)
yeah it might just an issue with the kit
What ram kit do you suggest then
you could just rma it and get a new kit and see if it works
also I’ve gtg so you could ask another techie if you need help
Hi
How are you??
I'm sorry, I deleted my Microsoft account from my laptop, and now the laptop asks me for a password
Question for anyone who might know or tried this, I have a single R7 370 I’ve replaced with my 5700xt, is it worth crossfiring them for a budget build for my brother or just giving him the one.
Cross fire across two different cards is kinda odd
ya and the 370 wouldn’t really help for gaming, probably just give it to ur brother
No no no I meant should I buy a second R7 370 and give both to my brother for a system
Two 370 in crossfire
Or just one
o
I have one already wondering if it’s worth getting a second to cross fire
crossfire isn’t really supported with a ton of games, I’d just have the 1 card
Ok thanks for the input
idk let me check
its prebuilt
asus motherboard but idk which one specifically
can u help me how to know
@clear coral it should show the name of he board on the board
Could you send us a picture of the inside of the pc?
ick
was afraid it was one of the lower end boards
might not be worth upgrading to a k chip :p
What's the budget for an upgrade
open
like
what ram do you have right now
16gb
open task manager
okay
take a screenshot
actually dont need to take a screenshot
tell me what it says at "speed"
and "slot used"
oooof
is it that bad? 😄
I got it prebuilt and just focused on the gpu
and well it's 2666mhz thats max on b360m
idk anything
what gpu
2070
