So I got lucky and landed a 3080 FE this morning. When replacing my 970 that I'm using temporarily, do I need to uninstall drivers ahead of time or can I do it once I put in the new gpu? Haven't swapped gpu's before, only built from scratch

Ideally you would use DDU in safe mode to remove the drivers, then shut it down to remove the old card, put the new one in and install new drivers

#

With that big of a generational gap I'd recommend that, but other times with smaller upgrades not totally necessary unless you encounter issues like low performance.

I bought a NEW 6800 XT Taichi from Newegg, and the metal part there you plug in your connectors for monitors is totally bent so I cant install it into my case.

I'm not sure they actually overclock better, they might just be set to a higher base from the factory. Like after you open afterburner the difference between oc/non-oc tuf should be marginal at best

hi guys, i recently got a rtx 3070 and every time i restart my pc it freezes any game i play after a boot, but the issue resolves itself after 15-30mins. i tried ddu and underclocking the core clock via msi but it's still happening, not quite sure what's going on here

43 is often caused by throttling issues due to heat. What're your package temps for cpu?
