My expectations has gone from like 20% gains to 10% to negligible
I love how reddit is defending this
"Raster limits are being reached for hardware"
Like bruh it's a refresh node
Ofc it's on the limit it's cos they didn't change anything
💀
Hoo boy next gen is gonna be good
Gonna be GOOD
60 series
Jensen's "redemption" arc
6090 with the 50% performance boost at 2.5 grand I can see it now
*+100% tariffs

Come on AMD
Gimme that 599 9070xt
My prediction game is on fire this gen

Gonna be sad if it's $649 but I'd believe it
Any more won't get them market share
Watch it also be +50% die size and 50% more expensive
I'm just coping looking for a low ish power card for the mid end
I have no idea what the performance is going to be, so I'm coping for it to be good
Or the 5070
9070 XT is supposedly at the level of the GRE so we can expect it to be below that, maybe a little better than the 7800 XT, close to the 7900 non xt?
If they pull another blackwell I'll skip again
I want to jump in before this administration can put tariffs down lol
9070 XT btw is essentially XTX performance
Slightly better RT
Like so small
Lol
And since AMD works well with scaling
Use XTX numbers and the core ratios of the 9070 XT
You'll get the rough numbers of the other 9000 cards

That’s so bad
7900 GRE wins again
This is hands down the most pathetic launch I am aware of from Nvidia
MFG will make it worth it...in 2 years when 60 series is already here

@jade pagoda this is your last chance to snipe a cheap 4080/4080 Super
I swear
WHERE!!???
I've been looking I couldn't find anything cheap
Idk find them man keep looking
Zotac store sells refurbish
Ebay gets rare sales

eBay is dead

Well there's always 7900XT for $620-ish
AMD
It sits above all the Nvidia cards for value and it's easily found
Just sayin

I will continue to look for a 4080 super

Both overclock enough to match a 5080 stock

This story reads so amusingly
And I believe this.
The numbers look worse here, much worse
Well, that's for MC only
Sure but we can assume that each major retailer got about the same number of GPUs which would mean roughly 1000 total in the US
Potentially less depending
But still
About a thousand for what, 330 million people?
That's rarer than some high-end cars
I would imagine Amazon/Newegg/best buy would get more stock than MC. Not sure though
Even then there still aren't many 5090s lol
Called it btw
so either they wanted to watch people fight or they knew not many gamers would be interested in this
YOU SHOW THEM RANDO
Not all heroes wear capes

You get banned for that
It happened with 30 series too

Exactly 4 units of 5090 at MC with a line wrapping around the building to buy them
i should of gone to my microcenter 40 minutes away to document and see if there was a line
imagine there was no line i could of bought 2 and made like 10 grand by selling them after for 5k each
Apparently some MC's didn't get a single 5090
And they only allow one per household
With ID checks
Gotta love those fbm posts with a picture of the GPU in the MC parking lot reselling it for $5k
Okay Polyphony, your turn

ProShop has sold the bulk of European RTX 50 Founders Edition cards to scalpers NVIDIA and retailer have nothing to share yet. Not only has this large European retailer broken the embargo by selling RTX 5090 and 5080 cards before the official release, but the company has also done nothing to prevent scalping bots from […]
I hate when I call something
I distinctly remember dooming about "Wow it can only get worse if there's a ploy to hand off supply to scalpers"
and VOILA IT HAPPENS
IKR???
At this rate I think buying online on launch day won't be a thing next gen
Nah
This is out of hand
Only way they can prevent it is to just stop online ordering
the whole supply issue is first-hand nVidia doing
They don't. Not from this.
They get to say "ALL SOLD OUT"
Artificially lowering supply to keep prices high does too yet they did it knowingly
Easier to ship the orders when they don't even need to unload the pallets, just drop them off at the scalper's house
Scalping is one thing, not even selling anything to anyone on the actual release time is another
This is the kind of rumour that spreads resent
Next gen I'm willing to bet launch will have many places with in-person stock only
Or Nvidia really just goes ham and makes the launch exclusively online sales
with in-person stock coming a month later
Or even better
They just framegen the in-person stock lmao
@cyan hamlet currently wondering how many other stores were hit
Cos I know most of europe just got 0 stock at all
The story rings true
Here we had what seemed like 1 store with stock
Why not just sell everything through amazon at this point, the bots are going to get them anyway so might as well make it easy
Quebec got nothing
PH actually had stock
Singapore had nothing
Not sure about anywhere else atm
I reckon no online selling whatsoever
You have to be an individual who walks up in person
You get to the point where you're selling before it's even up on sale it's really bad
I wonder if that's litigious
Ooo it is in Australia
That's the kind of thing that would get you immediate and severe backlash from Nvidia previously. Like "banned from selling our products for 10 years" backlash.
But yeah there has been no 5090s in Hungary at all
all the 5080s are preorder only
I wonder if EU has any laws like this in any country
If they do proshop might be in hot water
Lmao
5080 and 5090 buyers will have money to burn ☠️
If proshop doesn't cancel these orders like immediately there's going to be hell to pay for sure
I heavily doubt they'll get into any actual trouble
That's a huge amount of people
This is the sort of trouble GN executes companies for
It's bad
Consumer protection agencies can disappear surprisingly quickly if you juuust happen to make large monetary contributions to the right people
It wouldn't matter. The bad publicity would destroy them
Eeh, I think Proshop will still be fine ultimately
They could get off scott free but everyone avoids them like the plague
People have surprisingly short memories as demonstrated by the 50 series launch
remember the same stuff happened then with scalpers and everything selling out at way too high prices
I really don't think that'll be the case for anyone who was trying to genuinely buy
https://www.privacyshield.gov/ps/article?id=European-union-Trade-Promotion-and-Advertising
Under the Directive, misleading advertising is defined as any "advertising which in any way, including its presentation, deceives or is likely to deceive the persons to whom it is addressed or whom it reaches and which, by reason of its deceptive nature, is likely to affect their economic behavior or which for those reasons, injures or is likely to injure a competitor." Member States can authorize even more extensive protection under their national laws.
Includes web links to local trade fair or show authorities and local newspapers, trade publications, radio/TV/cable information.
Most of those people likely tried to genuinely buy a 4090 as well
it's a cycle at this point
There you go yeah. It's definitely in there
Proshop is in deep water
If they advertised a launch date and didn't have product to sell at launch, that could easily fall under the EU misleading advertising laws
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to actually get punished, but there is a chance
They must cancel the orders
The EU doesn't mess around like the US does, they've been more proactive against the big companies lately taking on giants like Google
I would be surprised any German reading the above article would take it sitting down if they wanted a 50 card
Make no mistake, that is only the case because the EU makes profit doing so
the EU only ever goes after US megacorps
Absolutely, but it hurts the company so it's a win win unless you're Google
Chinese ones are interestingly never harmed at all
Confusing consumer civil action vs government civil action
This is deceptive advertising, EU governing bodies wouldn't do much at all about it
This would be a civil case
You'd see a government step in when it's concerning a major amount of funds, bankruptcy, liquidity, suspicious transactions, stuff like that
Not a bad price tag for one day
okay let's say that Proshop gets fined
The most I've ever seen for that from a government is a warning but hey I could be wrong
for breaking the law
I'm saying they won't tho
Also that's not how EU works
They fine on % of revenue
If the company is worth X millions a year they'll get fined Y% of that
The EU can fine up to 10% of their annual revenue
Yeah it's scalable
Also again this is not government
An EU court might rule on that charge but any class action would likely amount to much less to meet reasonable reparation
Yep this sounds more like a class action because they've "injured" everyone that wanted a 5090/5080 and were promised a chance to buy one
Class actions are bloody messes
Almost every time people get pennies back
Since costs are dumped into lawyers
By that logic they'd need to pay every EU citizen
I'd take $12 for doing nothing
Any who opt into the suit yes
because it is a "reasonable" thought that everyone wanted to buy one
Well you guys heard it first
Hell you may be ordered to pay as a losing party as well
Just like when AMD got sued over FX processors not being "real" 8 cores, all you had to do to sign up was certify that you owned up to 5 eligible processors, any more and you needed evidence of purchase
Ye
Easy to join the class
Was I even online then?
Even if you weren't actually affected
when was this?
I'm pretty stunned they let this happen, ain't no way they don't cancel the orders
this has to be some sort of error ngl
like there is no way a company is this stupid
2019 it was settled for 12.1 million
It wouldn't matter, they must make right of it
Damn I missed that, should've gotten free money
It's entirely possible that the bot creator found a loophole in the backend of the API and exploited it, but it's still on the company to cancel
Question
My check was $11.56
how big do you have to be as a store to be able to order directly from nGreedAI?
In Australia we have extremely clear definitions in ACL that prevent "Mistakes" avoiding law
Small stores can order direct but you'll be secondary in the supply chain
or is it a "We sell to a large dist, they sell to mid-size, they sell to small shop that sells to customer" arrangement?
You just need to know a supplier
In other words smaller stores only get stock when there's stock readily available widespread
Min order is like what, 20 cards?
depends on the wholeseller
Any supplier can set whatever mins they want
Whatever price
cuz if I save up the upfront, I can potentially just bulk order like a pallet of them and make absolute bank
even if 40% of my money would then go to the government
because atrociously high taxes and fees to be legally able to sell stuff
Right you'd need someone that you know is going to get stock to distribute, and have a way to get priority service from them
this is like mfing high-end restaurants bribing producers of raw materials to get the freshest ingredients
Yes exactly
That's pure capitalism
Take any advantage you can over the competition
Spend money to make money
And eff you if you just want a reasonably priced GPU to play games with
The consumer is an afterthought at that point in the supply chain
Nah
They'll plead "nVidia allowed us to do it"
And imagine if that was true
I'm not saying it is
They'd both be equally screwed for violating advertising law then
But just imagine the scandal if nGreedAI authorized a major supplier to sell direct to scalpers before the launch
after all they'd not care who buys their overpriced cards as long as they get paid
Nvidia was accused of doing just that during the 30 series shortages
did it ever get proven?
No
But the instagram pics of people with stacks of about 100 3090s in their living room should speak for themselves
Then they forgot that their dealers aren't going to take the hit for them
Proshop doesn't owe nVidia to take the fall for it
at least there was 100 3090s you can buy as a lot
I sent it off to GN
Also fun fact
The 9070XT is apparently within ~10% of the 5080.
For potentially less than 600 dollars
I want to see more spicy content idgaf
I've been saying this for like a month now
Dream on lmao
and 550 for the 9070
Rn I'm expecting either 599 or 649 for 9070 XT
It's looking cheaper to make than a 7800XT if you discount the die
So I don't think it's unrealistic atm
Then 499 for 9070 give or take
Given the speed of it
599 and 499 would line up really well
So would 649 and 529
But I think 649 is too high if they want to capture market share
It's stupid but the card is definitely worth more, but many don't believe it is
So I'm thinking it'll fail if they don't undercut far enough
You know I was thinking... even if proshop did cancel the bot orders at this point they're already cooked because the damage is done, they missed the launch window
The misleading advertising has happened and there's nothing that can change that now
Yes and no
All that's left is the court of public opinion
If they cancel it and make right on the situation, the court would throw it out if they've made a sufficient effort
It's not going to be fully recoverable
But they should definitely be able to stop many orders
It's the "making right" part that makes a situation truly bad
The punishment thereafter is considered whether by accident or not
Stopping the orders should be an easy matter since they're all apparently from the same bot
I guess all we can do is wait and see what kind of damage control they do
It'll either be "It was an accident and we can't cancel"
Or "We got permission by nVidia"
I remember joking about all this
I didn't expect it to actually bloody happen
Jfc
Excuse me
5000 series is done for

Nah it's not liquid metal yet
And theres still gonna be plenty of people buying and recommending it to people
They aren't even getting to the LM leaking cuz they die from other stuff rofl
What a flop
Nvidia stocks are gonna be so dead and im gonna invest so much into them LMAO

Have to look at nvidia over this
Like it's not even been a week since they released and they finally gave us dp 2.1
And now we have hdmi 2.2 otw 💀
Sorry let me rephrase
It was apparently there at CES and I missed it
Nvidia isn't even on the latest spec
The cards never made it out with latest spec at all

NVIDIA's new flagship ultra-enthusiast GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card selling for up to $9100 in Taiwan, a mind-boggling 5x increase of the MSRP.
AMD Radeon RX 9070 on March 6 If this rumor is true, then we were right in saying that RX 9070 should launch in a month (and one day). Uniko’s Hardware claims to know the launch date of AMD’s RDNA4 series. This report appeared just hours after AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su confirmed an “early […]

Like the most roundabout way of saying "Yeah they will be a good chunk cheaper"
I was right
Again

Lmfao this headline is better
https://www.neowin.net/news/fake-frames-to-fake-gpus-nvidia-apparently-just-sold-rtx-5080-as-5090-from-official-store/
Order 5080
Get box saying 5080
Open box, GPU says 5090!
Plug into computer, reads as 5080

I'm hoping for $650 9070 XT and $550 9070 msrp, but we need to add 25% to the price of everything now so it'll be $800 and $700
That's after the tariffs
750 and 600 after tariffs imo
Given the configs the price scaling isn't out of line either
5070 ti is $950 after tariffs and 5070 is $700
Yeah but people will see 800 and think "AMD you failed again"
Review ends
They have a mindshare problem rn
They really, REALLY need to be price aggressive rn
Even if it means a price rise later
In that situation I see a paper launch in response as not a bad thing at all, they might suggest a launch price then rise later just like nvidia did
But if you count frame gen (but only on amd) the 9070 xt can beat the 5090!
Cos then it's like "Oh tariffs"
Instead of "AMD lost on price"
The price tag on launch I've noticed is many people's negative feedback for amd
When it's good, it sells like wildfire
Look at x3d
When it's bad, it's horrible
The price crashes
Look at 7900XT
They're gonna be scared af to reveal a price
And I reckon the more they pitch themselves under nvidia the far better it'll look long term
Cos it won't appear disingenuous for just AMD cos nvidia is already doing it
It'll instead shift blame to the trump administration
Not getting political here, just the result of cause and effect
That's much better for people watching reviews and seeing the price that actually demonstrates them undercutting "Look how great value this is" instead of "Well it's good but it costs more than nvidia"
Even if that launch pricing ends up holding later it doesn't win them mind or market share
They already tried that with RDNA 3 and unfortunately failed spectacularly
20% market share loss over the RDNA 3 life cycle despite RDNA 3 being actually good
This is exactly the problem, everything is too volatile so they're going to wait until Nvidia gives official info at a minimum, probably a little longer, to decide on a price
Absolutely
And that tight window will be very delicate
From 0 to 100 the moment things are official from nvidia's side for the 70 class
And nvidia probably knows this
If they delay the 70 cards a week, amd definitely will
I have zero doubts
AMD wants to walk in, all cards on the table
And make an educated approach rather than trying to be aggressively equal

💀
Comparing 12GB to 12GB ofc
I got it mid shortage when $1200 was considered a bargain, and it was the best one I could grab at best buy when I waited overnight
might be a stupid question but why aren't tech products like cpus and gpus made in America? seems like all that stuff is overseas stuff
Cost
does it have to do with labor being cheaper in places like asia
It's a lot cheaper to pay someone $1 an hour to assemble it in China and ship it than it is to pay someone $15 an hour in the US
seems like there was way more hype over the 6800/6900s and 3080/3090s than there is for high end nowadays ngl
And to clarify, this is sufficient pay for many people
They don't pay like slave rates over there by and large
Cost of living is just that cheap
Yes translated for cost of living that's still good enough
i will NOT be moving out in this economy anytime soon
You can live in parts of Beijing for like 50 cents a day
cant imagine the quality of living is great tho
I have a real example of this, my stay in Mexico I spent 3 or 4 days only eating out, I spent 10 usd
It's just cheap af to live
It's not egregious
I was eating at restaurants and stuff too
Dominos one night
Lol
Not every country is like this tho
Like if you stay at international hotels
Many cases they charge international rates
So like it'll cost maybe $3 to produce this high quality dish
Let's say a nice cut of steak
But they'll still charge like 20usd
That applies to street vendors too, they see an American walk by and double the cost of everything for them
So it's not always 1 to 1 but yeah if you know what you're doing you can live really really cheap in Asia
Yeah exactly
The white debuff

If you speak the local language well enough you can convince them to bring it back down 😉
Especially if they start trash talking you in their language in front of you
With AMD's stock down by 9% in premarket trading after yesterday's lackluster fourth-quarter earnings report, which saw the firm miss analyst estimates for data center revenue and guide a tepid first quarter, the firm nevertheless managed to earn more revenue from the business division than Intel did during the same time period. Looks like we have the data on the results of people switching to AMD because they got tired of changing out the 13900K CPUs from their servers.
slap in the face ngl
How the mighty have fallen, and as a result of their own complacence.
nervous for march
rdna 4 could honestly make or break gpu pricing
nvidia 60/70 will be overpriced and have no vram like usual im assuming
thats the market radeon just needs to finally own otherwise we are just going to keep getting more expensive low end
cause clearly people will pay over 2k for a gpu, whats to stop the companies from making them that expensive every time
We really will be seeing 6090 2GB for $4000 and 6099Ti Super Deluxe 32GB for $30000
with a 192 bit memory bus

5 days and half the people affected got nothing due to not being paid
Lmfao
All those people logging in for time sensitive events got nothing I can't-

TL;DR: Nvidia should add extra shunts to monitor the current balance of the connector(like ASUS is doing on their cards).

The person that reported that re-used their 12VHPWR connector that they had from before so it wasn't even a proper 12V-2x6
And that pin was likely worn out already since it was in use for a while
Yes it likely was
However "Worn out" isn't a concept
I unplugged and replugged my 12vhpwr adapters 1000 times
It's always a bad insertion
But I do agree with BZ's take that they should go back to having tons of shunts, one for every 12V line at least
I 100% agree yes
I would be willing to put any money on the fact they inserted it incorrectly
However that doesn't mean as I've said before that the spec is fine
It's not
The connector has always been rubbish
Even on 2x6 spec repair channels still report constant incoming 90 cards with melted connectors
They're supposed to not work, not melt
The pins shorter doesn't work as BZ says
Even the Assus cards that know when a pin is misbehaving only send a warning in software... that might not even be installed
Yep
Asus didn't even go the full shebang either
And like, we both have 12v cables
Even the 3080 ti ones can melt lmfao
But this is just unacceptable
3 gens now and they still can't get this right
Shorter sense pins in the connector even with 12vhpwr and it still is melting
Lmfao
Wonder how long it'll be until they just make a new connector standard entirely, without admitting any fault in the current design ofc
They surely have to admit it by now
Guess that's something I can look forward to on the 6090 if that thing looks worth the money

@cyan hamlet
2x6
They have no leg to stand on, moddiy is a big company 💀
Only ATX 3.0? Not 3.1?
Hope that's just a typo
Because otherwise that would mean it pre-dates the official 12V-2x6 spec and runs off a draft version that doesn't use the shorter/longer pin design
In other words, typo
2x6 is 3.1
And 3.0 is just longer hold up time
So effectively it's 3.1

stopping production of older models
Yeah that sounds about right
Apparently the 7800XT was planned to end production in 2025 Q3 but now it's been announced in January that it's stopping production
Smh leakers not translating the whole paragraph
Interesting
"stopping" could mean slowing down
And that would make sense if they're soon to replace it with something better
not to mention that if AMD told TSMC to stop the fabs today on the 7000 series
there would still be cards assembled brand new 4 or 5 months from now iirc
True
They will do anything but just add a bit of extra vram huh 💀
They also gave the 4070super more l2 cache right? Cache which iirc is supposed to be pretty damn expensive
Wow another tech for game developers to never implement

GETTING
WORSE
That is legitimately disgusting
I don’t understand how that design was ever allowed to leave the factory
Seems like it’s been nothing but problems with it for the last few years
Surely when they were testing it they saw it had problems and just decided to roll with it anyway
Oh it's intentional I'm almost sure
I'd not be surprised if nVidia wanted to force people to upgrade PSUs that have native PCIE5
Cuz they're basically a monopoly at this point (almost)
The ones that melted were native PCIe 5.0
And they melted on both sides of the connector
GPU and PSU side
Roman tested it with an AX1600i, which uses the Corsair Type 4 cable (like a beefy dual 8 pin on one end and 12VHPWR on the other) and saw this after one minute of 600W load.
Over 130 Celsius
One cable was carrying over 23A (276W) while another was only carrying 3A, no load balancing at all

Also I see a lot of leaks pointing to a 599$ USD launch for the 9070 XT, do we think that’s a compelling price point if it can deliver between like 7900 XT-XTX rast. with better rt?
Imo yes
It's on the higher end of what I would like but its would be good value considering the 50 series launch
What are you rocking now for your system? I think it has a 3060 right?
oh yeah I remember you mentioning that to me

Another Redditor experiences burned 9800X3D For the thousands already sold, the issue seems marginal. It’s been relatively quiet since the last report of a burned 9800X3D, but another unlucky Redditor has encountered a similar issue to what we covered in November. According to a post by “t0pli”, his brand-new system, assembled just 20 days ago,...

Based on early hardware analysis yes
Luckily one of the 5090s that burned was in Berlin so Roman could inspect it and the power supply right away (both burned)

I find this part crazy interesting
@cyan hamlet think that the cables are just not seating properly leading to fire??
Like not bad insertion
But bad pin seating??
I think the fact that it has the chance to do that is crazy
They really really need to engineer a better standard
That's idiot proof

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
700 bucks is way too expensive
AMD never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity
Lol
700 cad?
if its 700 cad thats pretty damn good imo
nvm
it is in fact not cad
curious how the prices will be in US
The RX 9070 XT is listed at $999 CAD, which converts approximately $697 USD.
Respectible. Not the greatest but what can you do when inflation hits?
So like, $700 for the flagship
Don't worry. We can push it higher. 3% in January without any tariffs, number go up because bigger number better
Man we're really going through another RX 480 type of era
Like when the 480 was kind of an underdog (only it's Intel this time)
Now AMD is the expensive one and Nvidia is just outlandish
idk to me that makes sense
amd took nvidias place and nvidia took apples place
$700 for a card like this doesn't sit right with me but in this current market what else options you got atp?
Used 6900XT lmao

Oh im a very happy desktop gamer, because new ≠ good
I have way more fun with older titles
Its not even close

But like, games dont just expire like food
Go play bioshock, go play NITW, go play the thousands of titles that youve never played that are probably discounted

Pay close attention to this. He's an idiot but I noticed this too and I genuinely think he's found the other half of the problem.
DerBauer showed that 2 of his leads in his 12V2x6 cable were overheating and that his connector WAS seated all the way... I suspect that I have figured out a reason why that may be and I REALLY need the expert labs to investigate this...

Kind of yeah
what makes you guys say that
ive watched him a bit, (sort of background noise sometimes), but he seems fairly knowledgeable at what he does and has a large fanbase it seems
He's had a lot of takes in the past where it's like...he doesn't seem like he actually knows anything and it's really off the cuff and not thought through
He used to be a lot more switched on, I watched him way back in like 2020/2021
I'm not saying he's just an outright idiot like bad, just more like he often talks on things he's not really self-educated to a level I think is worthy of a video
He especially did this A LOT during covid
But here's the other side of it, I compliment most of anyone when they come up with something that genuinely is worth it's weight
And the above video I genuinely think is worthy of that
And to be clear, I'm not calling him dishonest, a liar or anything like that, just that it feels like he doesn't think things over and reacts like it's off the rip on camera lol
So most of the time I ignore his content for that reason

reasonable being over 700 is depressing
I am severely disappointed
649 is what the XT should start at, 549 for the non XT
Yeah I read that yesterday wonder if it’ll actually ship or just wait until launch day
I bet they’ll prob just cancel it tbh lol
If my limited knowledge is correct and only being involved in PCs for like 2 years I bet it’ll be another bad msrp launch like rdna 3 and then hopefully prices will come down within a few months
Ik the 7900 XT was the biggest example of that
Went from a 900 dollar card to be regularly available between 650-750
Links to those tier lists below:
zach's computer is slow
I like this lol
Idk man seems like an overreaction before you've even seen the benchmarks
Zach
zach's computer is slow
Yeah
Considering the amount of hype AMD itself made around the cards, I really don't agree there
They went all in on the "High performance for good prices" promises
And then we have a card that's barely cheaper than the last gen
Going anywhere over 750 on the XT is just bad
Ideally it would've been ~650, maybe 700
idk man you sound like an angry Redditor
The benchmarks aren't even out yet
Not to mention that AMD said they're dropping out of the high-end market
You can agree that this is a better situation than what Nvidia is offering (at least so far)
At least it's not some $1K that people originally hyped up only to be disappointed by AI and MFG so you can claim that it outperforms a 4090
I think if they want to gain market share they need to appear as way more than just "A better deal"
I would simp a good price any day of the week objectively but if they want mind share and market share their old ideas of just undercutting isn't good enough
We've had good amd cards (Or rather, good enough) for a long as hell time now and yet they've been losing something like 2% market share YoY
I'm still holding out for a 699 price
They really need that 9070XT to make Nvidia look stupid lmao
I agree though. Maybe I see past $749.99 too well and know that it's only a $50 increase
idk I'm still just gonna wait for benchmarks and have an opinion after that
Complaining about it like an angry Redditor gets it nowhere and makes me think less of the people who complain before seeing how it goes pre-release
I've seen enough peripheral data to know what both cards will be like
9070XT will be ~XTX or better
5070 TI will sit between 4070 TI super and 4080/S
The prices are all that's really left that's not basically confirmed
A $699 XTX or better gives you a near 5080 experience for 30% less
THAT
Will win market share
The RT be damned but who cares for 30% less tbh
XTXs are still around $800-$900 too, right? So you're basically getting an XTX for at least $50 cheaper lol
Yeah I see what you're saying though. You're not wrong either
Not just good price
Ye
750 is GREAT
Like
AMAZING
Take my money plsss
But also
People are nvidiapilled af
750 isn't enough imo
I'm still blaiming inflation
I haven't seen many people mention inflation lol
That's my bet though idk
True I like that approach
They need to really give these things away
Make the first week look soooo good
If they're 750 later, 800 later
830?
Fine
Tbh they'll likely be worth near that much really
But to meet the rumour mill they need aggressive af pricing
I'm still praying for it
💀
I will likely try get one if they make it low enough or it has something to it that's worth it's weight in gold
If it's basically an XTX like a lot has said so far, probably won't bother
I don't need a 3rd one lmao
Might get a 9070 XT and see for myself lol
Lol
XTX and 4080 are kinda close to each other aren't they
with more VRAM*
Ye was typing that lol
lmao
Objectively speaking NTC is probably my only objection in terms of value there
But who's to say how effective it is yet
NTC might really shake things up
I am 0% surprised
Even the 4K results were extremely predictable
And yet
✨ Doesn't beat the previous 80 card ✨
Wtf

The only reason this gets close is gddr7 bandwidth
Everything else, completely predictable
4070 Ti Super XT
💀
"4070 Ti Super Duper" -GN
I'm loving this honestly
I mean I guess it's a better increase in 4K from the Ti Super than the 4080 Super to 5080
I hate sounding like an angry Redditor but this launch reminds of Ferrari's pitstops in the 2023 F1 season (like wtf were they doing)
5070 Ti was the biggest theoretical performance increase to the previous card it replaced
Lol
I'm enjoying this now
Reason is that this is the bed everyone made
Everyone went and bought nvidia, despite the AMD parroting
Now with 2% YoY market loss
Nvidia now sits at over 90% market share
b r u h
So nvidia can set whatever price they want

And now people are upset
Like as if this wouldn't happen
Bruh Jay is upset lol
I'm watching his video rn
bro is swearing without censoring it
lmaooo
can't blame them 😭
This is the worst launch in like a decade
If not more
Every way you slice this it's the most pathetic results in years
"Oh but they're running out of gains to give us, Moore's law is dead"
Bruh they never changed it
They did an intel refresh
No node shrink
No that's next gen

"vote with your wallet" does not account for consumer FOMO
Vote with your wallet!
Stares at all the people who don't know or don't care and buy Nvidia because all they know is Nvidia = good
Voting with your wallet is a joke. This is the New Gilded Age, you can never escape them
These corpos only get to pull the crap that they did because of the lack of common sense in a lot of consumers these days
NVIDIA is doing ‘something’ to fix RTX 50 availability Better late than never. Perhaps NVIDIA knows that RTX 5090/5080 availability won’t improve in the near future, and they are tired of reading mean comments (and reviews) about how overpriced their cards have become. Perhaps they are just like us, gamers, and don’t want RTX 50 […]
Only US
Ignores the some 150 other countries, vast majority of which have had less or little to no stock
USA is the only place in existence. Literally no other countries exist man, so why would they need to prepare to ship to what doesnt exist?
Other countries are like 5090s, a figment of our imagination that doesnt exist
US priority because they get infinite markup for tariffs
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-024-08445-2
tldr: Microsoft making new states of matter for CPUs
Massive W for Microsoft today
That's basically the only market nGreedAI cares about anyway because the US market pays the most and has the biggest press
So it makes actually perfect sense from a business standpoint
It's scummy as hell considering the US already got the vast majority of existing 5090 stocks
But it's perfectly sensible from a business standpoint
Our collective gamer wallets are not deep enough to matter when nvidia can charge 25k for the same product with less features if they slap an AI branding on it and add more memory
We should take this with an entire shaker of salt until it's proven. They announced this before and retracted it in 2021. So far the technical documents are full of theory.
whenever you watch a disaster or superhero movie its always new york or san Francisco that gets destroyed theres obv nowhere else besides us

THEY'RE GONNA GET SUED TO HELL

AHAHAHAHAHA
THIS IS AS BAD AS THE 4GB MAXWELL CARDS

That's an actual scam

My honest reaction to this cursed ah post
There has to be some federal probe for nvidia
This is too much
Enough is enough fr
Federal probe in this country in this year during this administration? Unpossible
Tbh would be the same with last admin too
You mean the admin that was pursuing antitrust probes against Nvidia and at least attempted to encourage pro-consumer policies? Yeah, sure

No politics please
ah yes dont talk about making sure companies are not scamming ppl so they can keep doing that
It wasn't pro-comsumer
They pretended to be
But also shuffled investigations against nGreedAI awa
is this the worst gpu launch in the last like 10-15 years would you say
seems like for the 50 series and 5090 espically it keeps getting worse lmao
i have not been on the planet that long to know

dont jinx it lmao
