tomorrow, blathers will give you the vaulting pole recipie, which will let you vault over rivers and explore way more of your island

you don't have to do everything in one day, but you will progress faster if you do it all in 1 day

i usually can build the shop and get the museum on the 2nd day

otherwise you have to wait another day

also, this may not be your playstyle but if you want to progress faster or you don't have much time consider time traveling. its when you change the system clock and it progresses the time in the game. for example, if you want the shop to refresh its stock, change the day foreward by 1 day and it will refresh

but some don't like time traveling and that's ok
