Any of the old games did that. If they wasn't high friendship with you, they'd go away if you quit for a while. But you start with high enough friendship, to where that doesn't happen, I think.

If you have a wii I would recommend city folk over wild world unless you particularly like dialogue, theyre extremely similar games but city folk is slightly better in most aspects
If that isnt an option wild world is still a great game, though if you dont have a lot of dedication youll quickly find that it is the most brutal game to maintain in the series if you dont play every day

Then you can't get it yet, when you get that, bells mean nothing. Bug catching past 7pm there is insane. The bugs on the palm trees are worth a ton. For now, just fish on the beach. It's really good early money, till you get the island.

You get the golden rod and net from tourneys/bug-offs after catching every fish/bug, and the axe and shovel by purchasing 50 saplings and fertilizers respectively
The slingshot and watering can are the same as in other games: shoot down a bunch of balloons and get a perfect town rating
I wouldnt recommend getting these from trading as theyre significant goals to achieve and doing so would remove a lot of gameplay

Unlike golden tools which are one-of-a-kind, silver tools are easier to come by and infinite
The rod, net, and shovel can all be purchased in the museum after meeting donation goals and leif gives you the watering can after buying 50 flowers
The axe is more or less luck-based; its available rarely on tortimer island for purchase with no prerequisites
The silver slingshot is probably the easiest rare tool to get; shoot down 16 balloons then keep an eye out on the sky

Id give you some silver tools but I havent been active on new leaf in a while
If you play with someone with the museum upgrade ask to go to their gift shop

Its so interesting how the discussion around the animal crossing series has changed in the past 5 years
From 2018 to the first few months of 2020 it would be hard to find any discussion involving hopes for the next game that didnt include better dialogue - the dialogue in new leaf was widely considered to be very bland and quantity over quality
In 2023, whenever you see a post about an older AC game on reddit, its usually someone posting one of the same few dozen screenshots of NL dialogue saying how much they miss it? Its really strange how the public perception has flipped because of NH's extreme lack of dialogue quantity (but at least the quality is far better)
The only reddit comment Ive ever had downvoted into the negatives by the hivemind was actually when I was talking about this exact same situation

I think they had a lot of trouble during the Wii U era in regularly putting games out, so when the Switch came out, for sports games or games that you'd play a lot over a long period of time, they'd steadily roll out more features to lengthen dev time while still being able to put out a much larger quantity of games

I think the end is in sight given Nintendo have basically announced they're building a second headquarters next to the first one, but it's still a good number of years away

this is also why I think that putting out a new Switch sooner rather than later is a bad idea, we're just going to end up with the worst of both worlds there

Send fruit to villagers and beg them to send fruit back. Once you get foreign fruit start planting it and replanting it to grow a forest. Then painfully make 20 trips from the trees to nooks to sell it all

Trading can be done by giving Nook the item you want to give by clicking “Send item” or something like that and entering the player name and town. Nook will give you a code the other person can enter to receive the item.

Obviously it’s not direct trading as it can’t connect to the internet but it’s still a way to do it

I've been playing acnh and it was my introduction to animal crossing but i got new leaf yesterday and it's so different. So i was wondering if anyone had advice on things to do to start with cuz i have no clue what I'm spose to do.

The concept is pretty much identical; paying off house loans. I’d also suggest buying things from nooks to unlock other shops and upgrade the nooks. Tools never break in NL. If you’re in doubt on anything you can always Google to find out more bout shop upgrades etc

Ah, okay. I'm glad it's not too different then. I was kinda intimidated to get in and there's already a pre-made island and residents with all the expectations of me. Also tools not breaking is something i could build a temple for lol. And thank you, cuz you gave me just enough info to get me started without it being overwhelming. I really appreciate it.
