if you’re doing the trick where theres a 1x1 item in front of you in the middle, you gotta be standing in just the right spot, facing the item, and basically tap the left stick once to the upper right corner and press a at the same time. it has to be almost perfect. it can be very finicky. i usually stand just slightly to the left of the item in the middle which i find to be a reliable spot.
after you get the cliff to push you into the wall, quickly turn back to the item and press a to hit it with the cliff shovel. if you dont do it fast enough it’ll spit you out and you’ll have to do it all over again.

im assuming the weird animation is your villager doing the beginning of the cliff building animation but then being cancelled. you’re either not pressing/tapping the inputs at the exact time or you’re standing in the wrong position

How to MAKE BELLS, the SIMPLE Way:

Yeah you should travel 1 day forward after asking someone to move in.. if you move backwards without going 1 day forward it can mess it up

I've been re-arranging my island some, and I wanted to try putting the lampposts around my bridges into the bridges' corner spaces. But for some reason the top-left one always floats a unit above where the others work fine. got any idea why this is? Or if I can do anything about it?

bummer. if you had the bells you could try to rebuild the bridge, but that doesn't seem like the most reasonable solution. i would maybe advise waiting until 2.0 is released and see if they manage to fix it, and if not, submit a big report.

Haven't tried with other objects yet.
If it isn't obvious from just looking, you're not meant to put objects into those spots normally. You wouldn't normally encounter this.

The negative turnip amount will affect the achievement, so your profit, instead of starting at zero, will start at the negative amount as though you lost money

You can still achieve it, but you would have to make up the negative amount you sold your turnips for

Used the glitch to get back up to put them back but as soon as you’re on the cliff, your options to even open your bag don’t work. You can’t plant or place, only climb back down with ladder.

I usually wait for the autosave icon to spin 2 (sometimes 3) full times before putting my switch in sleep mode and I wait about 5 seconds before going back into the game.

It doesn't always work, so it's mostly through trail and error.

So what you do is you have to bring the items to the island then drop them

You wait for the save circle and when it comes wait till it spins 3 times and then turn off the switch do not click the home button

After 3 seconds you turn it on and the items should be on my island and your inventory

When I give you the gold you have to leave then come back

I will tell you if the stuff is still there and make sure to check your inventory then you will know if it worked

Sorry -- misread your post. Anyhow, you get two random fences to learn in the NookStop per day. I think you may have purchased something else, if you learned and tried to customize the simple wooden fence which does have variations to it.
