I dont know if this is really considered a glitch, but when Orville shuts down your island designer app at the airport when you try to fly he doesnt actually shut it down. Because I just crashed in the middle of flying and then i still had it open when i got back to my island after the internet problem

Doesn't do it in handheld. I'll try a different dock and tv to make sure it's not my set up somehow.... But not only is it static sounding, the music actually is slowed down which makes me think it's a software issue

So basically, I tried to join my friend just now and we both have good internet connection but it won't let us visit each others islands. Both of our gates are open and we even tried using dodo codes but nothing worked. It just tells us that one or more consoles won't work or something like that. Is there any way to fix this?

@honest adder that is usually a firewall issue. If you do a test network connection (in network settings) on the switch, pay attention to the nat type

So a nat type of A is great. B is okay. Anything less is likely to not work at all. This is normally back to a firewall limitation by one of you. For example, if I play at work, I had a nat type of d, due to firewall restrictions so I can’t visit other islands 😦

There is a "glitch" that soft locks your game permanently. All you do is surround your house with terraforming cliffs after making sure you don't have a crafting table, materials, or tools in any of the houses. Then you do the same with every building. Then build a water hole in a 4x4 grid and surround them with cliffs. Then, build water holes on those cliffs. Finally, you permanently delete all islanders that have save data. You should now be on a soft locked island.

Also, don't forget to make sure the soft locked person can't receive gifts in the mail.
Either that or you make perfect ramps on a second layer to prevent them from being able to climb.

Thats really not a glitch. Also the rescue service can take you to the plaza, airport or your house from memory.

But you can't do anything with terraforming if you make ramps that are blocking the way up. I found that out when I had a 2x1 ramp. I wasn't able to climb that. Not to mention, you can place a 1x1 furniture piece on each possible climbing spot.
In other words, you can't get out (unless there is a glitch that allows you to bypass the game).
Essentially, you follow the steps above to prevent people from being able to create new save files, and if they manage to make one, it prevents game progression.

There is no way out of the lock without glitches. That would suggest that glitches previously used in this game and the others would be possible. Remember New Leaf before the Amiibo update where you could use a net to clip on top of buildings? Not to mention Happy Home Designer's mechanic with slipping between furniture? The glitches are executable, but it appears that you need to set them up.

Or just use backwards momentum. Apparently TAS bots can allow you to walk backwards. The frame data of this game has a priority system for what was there first. But if you have multiple things in the same places (the teleport gate glitch), you may very well be able to do it again.
Maybe this would allow you to make walkable rivers or something even more bizzare.
The game would not want to crash itself, so bizzare things are bound to happen.
This is the ground work that has been created by using previous data and adjusting it. There is a saying about patches "fix one glitch and others are bound to appear." This is because the logic system had been changed, which would lead to more glitches.
Maybe this would lead to a duplication glitch like the one on the Gamecube where you can glitch terrain and grab infinite items, but instead, you go into the void.
The best way to find glitches is to use common trends. Why do you think online duping has always worked in EVERY animal crossing game minus Gamecube (because no online for the Gamecube version)?
Every duping glitch in the series has been caused by tricking the game and incorrectly loading information.
Even the one in Wild World was caused by misloading. You flick the cardboard box and your bells fast that the game glitches the 100 bells into a 99K bell bag.
Why do you think glitches in the game are always found using similar tactics?
Either way, the game is busted. This is how so many dupe glitches were able to be done at launch.

If doing a clip like the net trick in New Leaf isn't a glitch, then duping can't be one either. After all, there is a "glitch" in Ogre Battle 64 Person Of Lordly Caliber where you can more or less trick the memory into maxing out your inventory. The inputs are highly intentional as a developer shortcut.
So by definition, there are no glitches that have ever occurred in any video game.
This is where we replace the word "glitch" with "exploit."

Very carefully. You have to make the lock before they can use the teleport service to get daily miles. Then, you just place furniture, create rivers to block traffic. Deleting the ramps I mentioned before won't be enough at a certain point. I might as well go onto the 3D fan project and show what the island would do.
Now you can teleport to town hall and the airport, but it means nothing if you can't go farther than that.

I thought you could make a lock via terraforming. Even without that, I was thinking of making hopping to a rock a potential gateway. With it being surrounded by water, you may be able to create a landform that you would use to clip into with your povalt.
It would be crazy to recreate the abyss from New Leaf or the Rocket Sky High from Gamecube.
Or even to use speed demon tactics like the 99K bell bag glitch in Wild World.
At any rate, I hope y'all can make use of these ideas, even if you can't use them. With that, the lock has been unlocked.

If you get stuck on trash island and surround yourself and fill your inventory with trash the game forces you to catch a fish that would be sent back into the ocean.

Previous games like New Leaf had a similar problem involving this since most parts of the world including Japan don't have Daylight Savings, and it's an intended mechanic for the game to detect if you've backwards-time traveled. So if it's a glitch it's somewhat intended or Nintendo doesn't really care.

There's actually a flag or something called timesly in the code that triggers if the game detects if you've backwards-time traveled, but Nintendo hasn't cared to prevent the negative consequences of this since at least New Leaf or earlier.

I have a tile that cannot be terraformed, dug, planted in, placed in, items can't be pushed into it. It displays as grass. Tried clean up service. All adjacent tiles can be terraformed.
Shovel animation is the rock hit. It can be walked on and running over it does show grass, "dust"

You definitely didn't mention that they couldn't find villagers on mystery tours in your original message, only that their plot had been empty for 7 days which is not a glitch, it is an intended mechanic of the game. 20% is a low roll, it's the same max roll for campers. Don't ask for an answer if you're not going to accept the information you're given. If you're so certain it's a bug, contact Nintendo and tell them.

something kinda weird happened today, i moved a house so i could do some terraforming, but the hitbox was still there and it wouldnt let me do it. i tted a day forward and now its fine, but it was rly weird
wow i really messed up describing that. the houses texture was gone, the texture was in the new place, the new house had collision, the old plot was completely empty, (no for sale sign or anything) but when i tried to remove the ground it said there was a building and i couldnt do it, and when i went up on the same level and tried planting flowers and dropping items/putting down a path, it did what it does usually if theres a house there

@lime ledge those DIYs are hacked because you're only supposed to get them from perfect snowboys. You can't get in trouble because the game doesn't keep track of how you got DIYs. Hacked/glitched items don't cause game corruption.

I’m pretty sure I’ve had a 3 month long glitch. I’ve had no meteor showers or a Celeste visit since the last week of July. Today I have my first announced meteor shower since then. Has this really been a glitch?

@fringe agate There are months with no Large Meteor Showers (the ones Isabelle announces), and even when there is one, there's a chance that Isabelle won't announce it. Most likely it was a combination of these two factors that made you not get a meteor shower for that long

For example, MeteoNook is telling me that my island didn't have any Large Meteor Showers in September and October, and that November won't have any either
I think Isabelle only tells you about meteor showers if they're large and if she has no other news for the day. If you want to be sure when there's going to be a meteor shower, try MeteoNook: https://wuffs.org/acnh/weather/
You fill in with information of your island's past weather and it will discoverwhat is your island's pattern. After that, you can know when it'll rain, when it'll snow, and when there's going to be a meteor shower

Celeste can appear on nights with light meteor showers as well. those aren't announced. she can also appear any time after dark - sometimes I won't find her walking around until 9 or 10pm.

So earlier today my villager wanted to do a treasure hunt and long story short I could not find it, and that was that. But later on in the day I found the treasure and tried to open it "this isn't yours, it would be rude to open it." Dialogue showed up.... uhm well I went to the villager that gave me the treasure hunt and she did not respond at all to me having it. I have tried to sell it and throw it away and that has not worked. So now I'm kinda worried it's gonna be in my inventory forever...any tips???

There's a known issue with failed treasure hunt quests, but I'm pretty sure the information about it is in a now-deleted channel. Let me ask around and see if I can't get some more info to you.

the glitch required for duplication requires the user to drop their items on the host's isle then disconnect via wifi so the items remain on both sides thus duplicated, by 10 slots it means the payment via 10 items out of the 40 to be duped for the favor of hosting
