Please be safe and if possible do not pick up any suspicious items from other islands! This post is just for the case where they are on your island already; this server does not endorse acquiring them from any means.
To check whether an item is malicious, wait for an autosave before picking it up. If you cannot do anything with it within the ~3 minutes until next autosave, close the game so the game does not save with it in your inventory.
Note that (if the item isn't wrapped!) you can stand over it to check its name. If it's Japanese or a hyphen-like character, it's a hacked item!
When malicious hacked items are dropped on your island, either use party play to send them to your drop-off box or move a building over them. This will send them to your drop-off box, you can cycle them out of there via sending 80 or more other items there.

Iām assuming this means her data was uploaded into the game via external SD? And should I remove her in the risk of getting corrupted/banned/ etc etc.

I see a lot of talk about the mystery bag thing >.< If i'm allowed to share it i have a viable list of the item names as they appear in game.
They are dummy items that were only ever meant to trigger in game events and never be placed in someone's inventory. They've been an issue before with people leaving them on the ground for others to pick up, but i guess with the surge in mystery bag parties, and the ability to wrap them by special means, it became a target for cruel people to once again start causing more issues for the community.
I shared the info i have with modmail earlier.

Sometimes if the left joycon has extremely subtle drift (so subtle that even your character isn't moving), it prevents the camera from fully going up because you're "moving."
But since it's pro controller I have 0 clue.

To my surprise it was Judy and I was flipping out and I had an open slot. I believe the auto save timing increments by 5 minutes each time the gate is open, so I generally just have the host save and quit, as to prevent from the island auto save timer from incrementing @pliant compass

Hey! When the autosave doesn't pop up ur gonna have to time travel. If ur the host then u can time travel 1 day ahead then open the game back up and get a new dodo code for the duper. If the host can't time travel then both sides have to exit the game and the duper will have to time travel 2 days ahead then the host will just go back in the game to get a new dodo code. I hope this helps!

Dumb question but... people hosting at the #691857408271712296 is the host glitch where you have till 2min to drop your stuff on the host island and then power off the switch in the middle of the save therefore duping the items?

Also to answer your question I believe that the "host glitch" you were talking about is the same as the duplication glitch where you drop items within around 2 mins on a hosts island to disconnect then make the duplication glitch happen. There are no other duplication glitches where a host is needed I think, unless i'm not up to date yet.

As long as your villager is off the island, and your island is able to save, it should be good
i.e if the host visits the visitor, their island would be fully saved, so upon return the autosave timer should kick in on the 2nd-3rd minute

Gonna chime in on the KK b-day thing: I've had KK ask for b-day wishes 2 weeks after a character birthday on June 1st. No, I didn't TT at the time, I was in the current time and it really confused me. So that isn't a new glitch and it wouldn't have been on a Monday for me when it happened.
I even posted in here at the time when that happened to me because it baffled me so...
Although, there was a bug-off in June yeah? It might have something with KK being moved to another day because of an event in the same month as a player character's birthday?

Wait for the auto-save to activate, then open it. If it's bad, hit the Home button, X button, and confirm to close software.
You don't have to wait for auto-save since you should be fine as long as you have the inventory open and don't close it, but if you get nervous you might exit the inventory by mistake and trigger the auto-save, so better to be safe if you're trigger happy.

@high kite ok so this may be a bit of a stretch, but it could be related to the date you're trying to plant the weed in.
it's September 1st, which would technically make it the first day of autumn (but not really because it's not 5 am yet so the trigger for the "new day" hasn't been activated), so what it's happening is that the game doesn't show the weed because its appearance would clash with the rest of the weeds already on your island.
In summary, my guess is that the game thinks you're trying to plant a summer weed during autumn

After seeing that video, that ^ does seem like a logical conclusion... @high kite If it's still being invisible after the day reset, then that would rule out it being a date thing. But honestly, I don't think that's what it is. Can you plant a flower/seed there and have it be visible? It might have something to do with how much stuff you have in the area already.
