I like that not as the square being a "tile" of the overall design, but as a map of the whole floor if that makes sense. So the black would be in the room corners and the design in the middle, scaled.

I got some of the inspos from other creators but made the designs myself cause I didn’t have a membership to get the pro designs. Most of these were just to fill up empty space and there was a lot of it going on. Anyways, I didn’t always like that the airport is directly in front of resident services but the more people acknowledged that it’s a good placement, the more I was convinced too. So, I created a small waterfall path at the entrance to make it look presentable. Other areas that look kind of wonky are still a work in progress.

i really like how you have a little city center! the museum and nook’s cranny are the same size, i think the sisters’ shop is a square shorter in width of that helps you. when i did a city center, the cranny was aligned lower left of resident services, with the museum aligned at the top - kinda like this: =[]

i recently placed the cranny far from the museum / services and regret it a bit with all the running back and forth.

i don’t know what the policy is for sharing videos here, but this dream address did something really clever with their double south river mouths. you didn’t screw yourself over, i like where you’ve placed everything so far.

i'd say it depends on the furniture surrounding it, a natural incline might look off next to fencing and stuff so if it looks more "towny" i'd go with the stone stairs and if its more "woodsy" i'd go with a natural incline

My tip here is to plot out the houses with in game pathing so you can decorate around it and see it on the map to help you so you don't have to move the houses too much. I try to make my houses spread out since so I have more reason to walk around my island but I do like yout arrangement. If you don’t have online I saw a bunch of people do creative designs with the in game pathing so you could look at that and get inspo. Around the path could be trees, flowers, water path/lake, really anything that fits. I’d love to see what you come up with

I’d say break down each section of your island into parts. When I first decorated my island I started with my entrance and slowly worked up from my entrance to further areas. As for builds on a fairycore island, lots of trees are always good with mush lamps of all colors and many flowers. 👍

WHat is your island theme/style that you have in mind?

I'm doing city rn so if you are doing that you could do something similar with the tropical or japanese to colin crossing winter island where it's just a street that goes bty. More natural I would say terraform to make it more closed it and give the illusion the RS is farther away. You could also do a train track if you wanted more rural japanese themed. Just some food for thought.

Someone in this channel at some point gave me some inspo since they used the castle pieces in front of their RS which made it seem farther so I did that for my city island. Let me see if I have a pic of my entrance (though I do have more space than you, you could easily shrink what I did).

RS is right behind my terraforming but you come into RS at an angle so it makes it seem farther. This has about the same distance as the city one I did from the entrance

Maybe you could plant a big “cornfield” and have an alien spaceship in the middle. Like being abducted by aliens or something. Or maybe a wheat field? That way you can also have a farm. You can even go a step further and try to design an area like Signs with water bottles everywhere.

Do you have a theme/style in mind? If not, you could consider looking at other people's islands and figuring out what you like and don't like since this will help give you a better direction. I tend to look at entrances since that sets the mood for the island and is easy to play with since you can make it big or small depending on the space and theme.

Okay, for citycore, simple panels with custom designs are gonna be your best friend. Here are items that I've seen used in citycore builds in different ways.

Front/Walls: simple panel, short simple panel, wide display stand, storefront, medieval building side, castle wall, castle gate
Rooftops/Towers: retro transportation stop, castle tower, solar panel, stalls, loft bed with desk
Ornamentation: neon diner sign, brick oven, server, silo, wedding organ

Feel free to add more if anyone has any suggestions! Look at Pinterest for some good ideas; if you can't identify an item in a screenshot then #game-help-questions❓ can help you.

I can’t remember all the item names but the main things used were wide display cases, tokonomas, safety railings, and simple panels. They terraformed behind the cases and placed those items on top. If you want to recreate it just follow what’s in the photo.
