Yeah, the museum is such a grand building, I sometimes feel it doesn't need a whole lot. I've got a bench, and a bed of flowers/potted plants. There's a bridge coming in from the side and cliffs behind it. The space doesn't feel empty because, honestly, I didn't give it much space 😂 (my island is very compact)

i’m trying to do forestcore/cottagecore but not super cluttered like cottagecore usually is lol

i’m just having a mental block when it comes to the entrance for some reason

all the tutorials online show beautiful entrances that are super far from resident services or like 2 blocks away

hmm okay. So the plus on that end is terraforming/trees dirt paths will be your friend. If you want the entrance to RS to appear longer then you can terraform/use trees/ whatever to guide the user to enter at an angle instead of straight on. I do that for my island and have an opening in the bottom right corner

If you want it to feel close, the less terraforming then to make it feel closer and more open.

I also do think is a great idea! I was also suggesting that you could add some new bikes with baskets next to the entrance of your Island for the visitors to pretend they would travel by bike in your Island

Yeah I definitely think you are on the right track. The terraforming near the RS looks nice so if you close it in more in the front it will feel more cozy/foresty without being cluttered

I would probably angle your entrance to whatever corner of the RS plaza you would use most if you go that route. Also keep in mind to leave little gaps so you can take shortcuts on your island. Nothing sucks more than having to constantly pull out a ladder 😄

Need bridge advice. As you can see, the most "finished" portion is the upper half of the island. I could really use pointers and ideas. I wanted to set up shops on the larger island, or set up a residence on it? I'm not sure.

Thoughts/opinions on this campsite area? Double staircase with a fence (maybe) and Campsite sign. Kid's tents with camping items leading up to the campsite.
The area between the camp and river could be a garden or something, and I put a little alcove behind the staircase, though not sure what to do with those spaces yet.
I'm not super attached to the river or the land around it. That's just where my cliffs are. Basically I saw an image in my head of the two staircases with the campsite sign and I based my whole idea around that lol.

If you get Celeste DIYs you could set up a bunch of the lamps, moons and crescent benches in different colours, and display the astrology items, but do it in a circle around a fountain?

So each item is at its place in the circular zodiac on the edge of the circle round the fountain

I'm having issues making my island too because i don't have anything in mind, the theme im going for is just anime like, bright and slightly modern japanese. On the other hand all i really care about is filling it up and getting villagers down, I don't have any desires other than making my house area a lake house. Which leaves me with half an island that i know nothing to do with.

I don't know if that helps, but if you have villager photos (or like, custom designs of things you like!) you can surround those with related things and make little "shrines". It's a very easy way to fill up space on the weird beach rocks/beaches in general

Hey y’all! I was wondering if you guys had any item suggestions for my bayou area. Surrounding my museum is a Louisiana bayou inspired swamp vibe. It’s also kinda spooky (think Lagras from Red Dead). I already found a great swamp pattern for the ground, and have a couple giant vines, and a tiny fishing area with a yacht and crawfish model. Anyone have any suggestions for things that just scream “bayou”?

The darker wall behind the construction plot is set back one tile further than the white one behind the house… each tower is 3x3 so you need to make sure the walls are lined in the middle and not off to the edge of the towers

star frags, reverse facing star clocks, and nova lights look amazing in variation, the moon, floating asteroids, and crescent chairs could really help

the mushrooms being these pastel colors make it feel more celestial as well

it seems like quite a blank canvas rn did you have any theme or other areas to work around it? like if its jungley maybe tuck it in between tier one and three down a narrow path of trees and vines? ir seacrest sounds a bit beachy maybe you can have it look like a temple to a sea god and make it a focal point, or maybe like an old temple surrounded by a lush forest?

i like putting buildings like that on the second level tho as you can play around a lot with the entrance to it having things above and below it

like sunken waterfalls or making it into a bigger looking build with towers n things behind it
