I hate my island and I can’t figure out how to get it to a place were I might like it. It’s currently fairy core and I find it boring. So, I’ve decided to re do it. I know that I would be okay with kidcore but I want to try making a spooky island. What would anyone recommend to do so? The things I really don’t like about my current island is: it feels miss matched, I want an up and down walking path but I can’t get it to work, and the flow of the island is awful. Would anyone like to help me?

I feel like my island became less mis matched when I started to give each area a purpose in relation to the island theme. Finding or making custom patterns in the same color set help make it seem more cohesive as well. Flow I feel is achieved by creating corridors and sections for exploration, guide visitors via your paths and cramping the path forces movement , then having hubs where then the visitor can decide which way to go next, that helped me flow much better

For multiple level paths you'll need to terraform large swaths of cliffs and set aside enough ramps. It's worth it though. This is a clip from way back when my island was a bit spooky. Hope it gives you some inspo.

One of my dream custom paths was a koi canal, the ones you would see in rural japanese villages where their canals are so clean, koi live in it. I've been trying to find through koi customs that already existed but it just didn't work out....now i'm trying to make it myself. Gosh, how do these custom paths experts ever finish making their own paths without rage quiting midway.

At most on an island all you can do is drop items, pick up items, plant flowers, (if best friends) dig things up, chop down trees and destroy rocks

Somebody can technically design for you but you have to actually place items and custom design yourself.

When people say that they mean help them create their map. Other players physically can't decorate while visiting your island. I've tried it myself, other countless people have tried. It just can't be done. The same goes for terraforming, the game only allows you to terraform your island, nobody else

The best I could suggest is doing an area that’s beat down, overgrown by shrooms, darker shades of brown, pines, little waterfalls
