personally I'd recommend starting at the entrance! if you have a theme in mind then searching up "[theme] entrance" could give you lots of inspiration for it, and then you can just branch off from there and work towards resident services, your beaches, or whatever it may be!

I love your plan! You can always terraform stepping stones (individual little islands that you hop from one to the next) or make a line of land and just put custom paths on top. Im not familiar with incline work-arounds, you might need to simplify it in that regard. The limit really is a pain, but best of luck to you :)

That's exactly the kind of stuff we discuss here! 🙂 I usually see forestcore islands set in spring (April/May) or fall. March seems to be mostly "springcore" islands with lots of yellows and whites, and I personally think the dark green color of the trees in July and August seem a bit too harsh for forestcore. I usually see August used for those rural Japanese islands because it reminds people of children playing outside during summer (the cicadas add a nostalgic factor, too).

if it won't spawn where you want it to it means there are no valid tiles for them to spawn on the island. if you have somewhere that you want it to spawn then it means it's being blocked by something, would you mind sending a picture of the area where you'd like it to go?

there are a bunch of things you could do. I personally like figuring out where the buildings are first and then making the paths go in front of them. You could also for some variation add a river and bridge here but it really does depend on your overall layout. I would honestly decorate the rest around area first and then decide tbh.

The great thing about terraforming and paths is that you can change it later if you don't like it. Do whatever makes you feel happy :)
I liked hills to fill in space, but later realized that I wanted to put items there, so I got rid of them

Late response, but "flat" surfaces offer cleaner decor ideas. My island is very simplistic in this approach. I do not have wild terraforming on my island, because I prefer a cleaner design that allows me to decorate the surfaces while being able to run through the area. I think it looks fine, what I would suggest personally to work on a strategy for each terraformed plot to match it's own theme.

No, don't be scared! Messing up is all part of the game. If you get something wrong just tear it down and try again. Start with a small section and focus on that, and then move onto the next one 😊

I dunno if I like how the able sisters looks near the nooks cranny I kinda like it alone but idk where else to place it on my island, here are some pictures and map of how it’s going right now. Can anyone suggest anything ?

I also made this “plaza” area so I could place season items and theme it but it kinda look huge and ugly also it’s so close to my entrance and I can’t get the path right anyone help?

Is it possible for you to move nooks more to the upper left side of that cliff and then put Ables more in front of the ramp? Then you could put a path leading to both of them and have them separate enough (although idk if you already have something there)

i have districts in my island with a theme and a purpose. the south part of the island is the sheep district, so my sheep live and run all the businesses there. and i have a residential middle class district as well, where villagers and players live

The big blue one is from Mario update u can buy it, the small red one next to the Alice dress is a DIY and the big red one is a DIY too. The small one is a mush stool, the big the mush parasol i think. The glowing is the mush lamp

Maybe make a big field where you put each thrid "spot" 1 level up. You need to climb up the first level and jump over the "holes" in the ground. You could put bug models around the field and some trees and call it "catch the fly"
One person has a net and catches the others by hitting them with a net. You have to "jump" away from the person with a net and when u hit you are a catcher too. The last fly wins the game and wins a prize. You could ask ppl to bring bug outfits and once they are caught they need to switch to a safari outfit. (Or u give it to the players in the begging of the game)

@rapid ether you just need to have 2 spots where ppl can land on and then 1 free so ppl are on the same platform and can hit each other.. I think its only fun if u are a lot of ppl. I saw it once where ppl played it without the bug theme. But maybe if u make a bug theme it looks even cooler.
In the "holes" you could also make either prizes so ppl need to climb down and get the prizes (then the catcher has a higher chance to catch ppl when they are in a hole - you could also make one person to be a spider which is competing with the catcher and can only move in the first level between the platforms and when it bites the bugs or the catcher they become spiders too. But when the catcher catches the spider it becomes a catcher)
Or u put bug models in the holes.

Not sure if its understandable. If u need help I will draw a design of the area and explain the rules I thought of in a DM again @rapid ether

My island is more of a mix. It has a foresty Indiana Jones theme but that is already done. I have a more suburban style with Parks and public beaches. I got some cottagecore elements like a few gardens. But mostly it was a modern Village rustic theme with campside and abandond garden at the end of my island. This is how my sunken rock garden looks with the weeds fully grown. When making this area, I completely forgot that weeds continue to grow. I don’t know if I should go back and redo it or keep it like this. I kind of like it like this tbh. It’s giving me very overgrown garden vibes. The area surrounding this is very elegant though and I don’t know if that fits. So yeah..should I keep it or redo it? If I redo it, I’ll pick up the weeds and replant them. In order to stop their growth, I need to plant 150 weeds over my island. I have enough but I don’t know where to put them.
