For your whole island? It all really depends haha. Are you doing a specific theme? If you mean a specific area then I do suggest placing simple paths before! For me I decorate sections just in case I change my mind about an area. Which I do a lot heh..

Yes!! I would path it before, and maybe even plan it out!! Also, move your buildings before you’re going to do decorating or paths. It would flow much smoother.

Yeah cottagecore can get a bit boring if you have it for too long, that's why i'm always experimenting with aesthetics

Old -> new. I feel like kidcore is so much more unique then cottagecore, (no offense to those who do it. I just suck at the forest theme) there’s so many things you can do and I love the bright colors.

It gives you a lot more things to appeal to the eye too though!! When I go to cottagecore islands I usually feel like I don't really have.. much to look at

You can put things on top of them. I put butterfly models on top and put the blocks behind trees so from the right angle the block is hidden. I've seen it done with lanterns and dollhouses too

the area is pretty, but it doesn’t really look like anything you’d find in a city, like akira said. the pathway is very narrow, it looks very natural all in all. if it were up to me i would widen the path a bit and organize the fencing and trees to be in lines, or section it up. if you want to recycle this area, i’d suggest it were a hiking park. you might wanna find a new place for the mushroom lamps as they look more foresty

Admittedly, it's a very cool map.

For myself, I prefer simple and practical island. Mostly so I can move around my island without being annoyed. I used to have my whole island pretty much on tier 2 & 3. Held a ladder everywhere.
After I tore it all down, I am happy I can move around again without having to be stopped by an object.
