Silly question, when does everyone else get the option for the sidewalks on their island? I'm still a fairly new player and it drives me crazy that I can't put any sidewalks down.

The Paths unlock once you finish the main story (K.K slider) Which happens when you hit 3 or 4 stars (I forgot) But that's basically it. @ripe trench (Sorry for ping I forgot to reply)

Hey guys so I’m trying to line up some land I’m selling correctly and I was wondering if this is how the parts correlate? So the non-shades part is the part with the stairs and the shaded part is the part with the actual house. I just want to make sure the house is properly lined up with the house next to it.

Your best bet to make sure that it lines up perfectly with the house next door is to place a path in a straight line and test the other house out before you permanently place it to see if it lines up correctly

@limber shadow This is a pic of my entrance from last fall (sorry I dont have an updated pic, twitter's not working for me ATM). It's more off center than yours is, but maybe you could do a scattered path kinda like that? It should hide any uneven-ness! And it's pretty versatile too, since you can change it up with stone/brick/custom patterns! And some people use large scattered circles and I think that looks nice too!

How big of an area do you make on your island to be able to organize all of your flowers?

I know you can find some layouts on reddit. Theres one that i used which was 5x5 squares by type. Just google “most efficient flower breeding animal crossing” and a few links and photos will give you a good estimate

Just wind the path a little further back so that it's not so obvious, being off-centre doesn't really matter

If you don't like the look of some of the flowers or have too many, I've been planting my extra hybrid flowers behind cliffs so they're not visible! I think that can also help if you're trying to make something symmetric, and removing some of the flowers from your garden would help you out

I'm trying to rearrange my island because I hated it but I have zero ideas. I would like to keep the waterways relatively the same (it's the way the island always was) but i would still love to hear all ideas for the island.

So what i did was think of maybe an idea for a few of your villagers. What would they like? For example i made a soccer “stadium” and basketball court for my jock villager, i put my peppy by my able sisters and made it like a chic shopping area, I made one of my villagers a reading nook by the river, i put my wolf kind of “hidden away” in the woods. Also, dont feel like you have to have it perfectly planned out. Just try, see if you like it, and you can always try again

The general plan of where to put buildings is the main thing I'm struggling with. I don't think I explained it very well. But I like the idea of personal spaces for the villagers

Im actually kinda jealous of your layout. I have both river mouths on the bottom and it feels very limiting to my island design. But yeah, feel free to spread everything out! I used to have villager houses all bunched together and it made the rest of the island feel empty, and a lot of it was never touched by villagers bc they lived so far away. Personally, i think that your museum would look nice behind the pond between the rivers bc you could make the area natural with some cute seating areas and stuff like that. Maybe adding some cliffs to the front will help add a little interest up there if youre not opposed to terraforming
