@rare token bit late to the convo but google elegant core to start if you want somethnig fancy/expensive looking. My other suggestion when you are looking at images is to pick out what you like about it. If you can pick out what elements you like then it will help you build your own ideas.

You could so a market area , a farm, or like a hiking/picnic area with vending machines. I like the home layout so I think incorporating an area to help lead up to it would be nice that villagers could visit or hang out at. You could go art, pottery, etc.

Okay I have a dilemma. I want to do major and I mean MAJOR renovations to my island but moving houses and building/destroying is so tedious. Is all the work worth it or should I just reset my island and start from scratch??

I’m at 1,760+ hours into my game and I have changed the layout and theme almost 10x maybe even more. It’s better to keep all the DIYs and items you have now than start over. Does it take time? Absolutely, is it worth it..... imo yup!

But each their own. If a full start over is what you want, then great! If you want to tear down and rebuild, then great! It’s all about dedication and time you have to spare tbh

For me personally, I'd just watch videos or just do some online searching aimlessly. I won't be thinking about Animal Crossing and be watching a random video or something and be suddenly inspired. For example, back in August or September the latest Bunny Witch animation inspired a Witch City idea. When I saw the Festivale trailer my mind first thought of a music festival. Shortly afterwards I found out Meow Wolf's Vegas location was just about opening and seeing Area 15 inspired a Festival Island. Or a few weeks ago I was deep in nostalgia and thought it'd be better to do something I'd want to live in, like a special coastal city. You sometimes find your best inspiration when you're not actively looking for it

don't be afraid to make lots of little curves and bumps and irregularities in your rivers, it only makes it look more natural

Where rivers fork they tend to have a wider connection point which is cool to add a little island in the middle

Where one river splits into two, going downstream, it makes a sort of triangle

So in C3 you can make it wider if you like

I just did the same thing. I flattened my whole island and I’m starting fresh. I started from my airport and worked my way up my map so the areas connect and flow 🙂 I used Pinterest and Instagram/YouTube videos for inspiration

It did take a while but I TT’d to move all my buildings 😅😅 Yeaa, it’s super scary but once you get started you get into it!! There’s some great inspo for small areas or behind buildings

I mainly used Tea tables (a diy) Log extra-long sofa (a diy) any of the iron wood items (costumized to the walnut/old style) and I threw in a few barrels and plants (The plants were catolouge able and the barrel is another diy)
