If I were to say the few things that I’d add or change - i think having a brick bridge going into a stone area bugs me a little? but i’ll also a perfectionist and it’s not a huge deal

it's a gorgeous area! the floors look a little barren to me, but that's just my preference for cluttered and busy islands. I personally like using the scattered papers to add to areas with in game paths, maybe try finding a brochure design and customizing it with that to put down? otherwise, looks amazing

Really struggling with this. My airport is pretty close to the plaza and one tile off center. Any ideas on what to do? Been stressing about this for weeks and it’s making it hard to enjoy the game lol

@drowsy adder if it were me, use cliffs slightly more inward. Using it when it is at the front just makes it stick out even more. Additionally, watching entrance speedbuild videos may give you a bit of an idea on execution. Mines off center too, as it still reaches RS, but only at the left-most corner.

I’d scrap the cliffs and add fences instead, or you could do what I’m doing (redoing those paths ofc, adding dirt paths)

Also probably removing the fences there, but if you did do fencing you could have two flower fields on the other side

When you use cliffs like that it makes me kind of claustrophobic

And it makes your island feel kinda limited I guess

I wish I had your airport placement, mines super awkward but I’m making it work

The cliffs are gonna wrap around the entire plaza, and there’ll be a staircase inside so it’s not super cramped

@hazy fossil flowers at the entrance can be very nice. Maybe the contrast against the dark dirt the colors of the flowers pop out more and may seem “much”. But then again, some people like that. Maybe you could also limit the type of flowers or choose a color scheme.

Well lets think about a theme first since that will help dictate placement. What kind of stuff do you like that you have seen?Do you like the natural looking, more urban, do you want seaport to tell a story with it's design? That's some stuff to think about while you work towards getting terraforming.

Yea I get you, I like the urban areas but also with some natural things like parks and stuff like that.

For instance, your island name would help the theme. So you could have like a seaside island that uses the dock as like a shipment area so you can put a lot of cargo looking items and the island could be rural and natural. Or you can make it a tropical resort.

Gotcha, so the question would be how urban do you want to go? city scape or just like a quaint village.

Gotcha. I think that's a little similar to my island. Let me grab my WIP map design. My island is Kenopsia which means the eerie feeling you get from a place once populated that is no longer populated. So it has a little rural village vibe with eerie abandonedness throughout.

I disconnected the rivers and have most of my island on the second level since I wanted it to fade into a more forest feel. The dots are just me figuring out where houses are going to be. well i think if you do the option on the left side, you'll have more decoration space but it'll be very flat (unless you plan to terraform). if you do the space at the top, it might seem more self-centred if that's what you'd rather have. up to you, these are just my opinions :>

I think it's good honestly! I'd maybe add a cliff in the corner where the fences arent connected to give a little more space to walk to and from it, but as for in front of the shop, you do have enough space to walk comfortably whilst still being able to decorate it nicely!

I think that you should add some shrubs, trees and maybe a few flowers on the edges on top of some dirt paths. Maybe add some fencing (any type will do) along the south facing cliff, or some bamboo stopblocks/log stakes if fencing isn't your thing. But the first step is, lay down some paths! The custom design portal will help
