Mine is not exciting by any means but I love it as it's very me. Dobie's library is on the left of the photo and up the stairs on the right are Nooks, Ables, museum and market stalls in the shopping district. I flat my whole island and removed all rivers, I started terraform everything how I want it, my airport isnt in such a good position. Than I placed a few Streetlamps, Trees, Fences, Bushes and Flowers. Now I'm gonna make a list with items I wanna buy/craft to decorate my island, for that I make a picture and make some marks for the different areas. Looks Funny, but I just need organisation xD I have a document where I put all my Ideas than. I dont wanted to let me inspire by any other island 😄 I also try to do the most of the designs on my own~

I’m so uninspired, idk what to do with my island or what theme to do, I have my original cliffs and water which I wanna keep but I’ve removed all trees and flowers and now I’m stuck, can someone please tell me a load of different themes I could try? I need all the help I can get ):

I say it could be fun to just experiment or not even stick to a single theme. I've tried planning for one theme but I just can't. I love too many aesthetics to keep just one. Just try different ideas and see what you like. Some ideas I had planned out in the past and combined onto my island are Urban, Fairycore, even Junglecore, Mermaid, Kidcore/Pastels, Gothic (well, Gothic Cottagecore)
Those are the ones I've planned for in the past, and now that I reset my island I'm trying something else, like an enchanted luxury kind of is the best I can describe it as

I would either stick with what you are using below (bush or country fencing or use the tall wooden fencing) personally

Well the planks fit with your path more but the bamboo makes it look for island like. You could also transition to different fencing if you are going more into a wooded area by doing stone, bushes, and country fencing together with country being the glue between the two other types.

I think it will depend on what is behind the fence/on the other layer

hmmm if it's going to more woods I would find a way to fade in the stone/barbed/corral fencing. I think the hedges will be your friend in that decision to make the cliff side look more natural

You could also just do tree, real bushes, and some barbed wire here and there to make it look like the top part is not inhabited too

hey guys I need your help with something..I already changed the theme and layout of my island 3 times and now I'm kind of stuck because I want to restart my whole island but I'm not sure if I should really do that..would love to hear some opinions and/or experiences about totally restarting ❤️

Personally I never fully restarted, and I think a lot of that comes from the fact that I had already build up quite a lot of NMT for trade, very big catalogue, a few villagers I really wanted and a majority of DIY recipes, which I really didn’t wanna bother with getting back, so instead I flattened my entire island and moved the houses, and since I already had a few ideas in mind I just started on the entrance and worked my way from there, only terraforming and planning as I go, that way I’d know roughly how much room everything would take and now I’ve moved to decorating which is still in progress. So I’ve kinda made use of what I already have in terms of the permanent things on my island. :)

Somewhat, the thing that will take a long time is actually removing things (furniture, flowers, trees, houses, inclines/bridges etc.) but then filling in rivers and removing cliffs will put you into autopilot so you can just watch something while removing them. (If you plan to do this cut cliffs into lines to save time by not having to break edges every time)

It’s a matter of if you want to waste time flattening your island or waste time trying to get all your progress back

Even when you time travel, everything stays the same. You still have to build up to it unless you have like 5mil sitting around. Then you could just keep leveling up constantly. The builds could be sped up through time travel. But you it’s not literally time travel. Just clock manipulation
