@bronze urchin i agree mostly cedar and forest paths. i mix in bushes, occasionally flowers, ponds, and little custom floor stuff like mushrooms or leaves. also you can chop down some cedars for variety. and add garden rocks. and weeds.

like everyone else has said you should hide it behind a cliff and depending on the theme you put a waterfall or statues or etc. But you can also put an incline behind it and call that your entrance

Basically, each of my character has an assigned theme (nature, astronomy and science, magic, etc), with two villagers related to it, and a type fruit tree.

@small stratus A lot of people use them for some really nice gardens/forests/nature areas! You can also use them to display in front of the museum, or as just general decorations around the island.

oki so question, I had to switch out a path design in my designer app due to the limited space, I overwrote something I used,and now the placed I used ti are showing the wrong path .... Am i just doomed if I want to use custom paths? or should I have done something different than overwriting?

@half moon If you overwrite a custom design, every use of that design on the island will be replaced by your new one (with a couple exceptions). Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to work around this if you don't have any spare slots, which really sucks

i'm not sure what you mean by not allowing you to save the designs? you should be able to use more than 2 (you should be able to use any custom design patterns you have)

I watched a video on how to do it and pretty much you have the spam your entire island with shit so that there’s no space for rocks to spawn on them except for the area you want them to appear

@minor ridge oh that is very time consuming. I used the mannequin method for that - you basically have to block out every part of your island where rocks could possibly spawn - and only leave 6 spots in whatever design you want.

You can Google the mannequin method - those are easiest to clean up. You basically spawn an outfit from the designer and it blocks 9 spots around itself.

To clean them up you just approach them and hit the button as if you're gonna pick them up and they just vanish.

@dull turret The problem is probably that the design with just planks doesn't have a transparent pixel. Designs need to have at least one transparent pixel in order to not overlay the grass on the edges of pathways

@woven drift if you have the floor lights you can match them with the colors of the flowers on the right. They come in purple, blue, orange, green, red, pink, light blue, and white.

White can be used for yellow since it's a soft white.

@mental rain I would personally extend the area to the left of resident services and put your shops next to eachother up there (blue circle). For the neighborhood I think it would look nice in either the (yellow or red circled area). Are you planning on making the neighborhood all on one level or multilevels? Hopefully this helps 🥰

@woven drift Best ways I find for getting 3 stars is, to get nook mile items, lots of flowers and clean up ur weeds and trash laying around. If u dont want stuff in the way when ur terraforming just fill ur beaches with flowers furniture ect. 💞
