@woven drift depends. Autumn could work if you want to use a lot of the orange/brown bamboo funriture, spring could work if you're using green bamboo furniture and cherry blossoms

probably would advise against winter, but even then I think you could do a really cute snow themed japanese island

@arctic nimbus So, general advice, but go with colours that match the theme of the house unless you have an overall theme for your island you're sticking to

so for Gonzo's, country fences and more wooden/brown furniture would fit well imo

@jagged laurel I wouldn’t restart. Unless you’re super unhappy with your RS setup, it really isn’t worth it. Just terraform one small section and use some inspiration pics. If you don’t like the way it turns out, break it down and try again! Try to find a style that you enjoy or follow a theme! I hope things work out for you💙 (also I love your name. Walter is my king. He’s my island flag and I’ve got a pet gecko named Walter lol)

also, if you're doing fake bridges I'd suggest doing them as second level

There is a way to sort of bypass the limit, I've seen people use QR codes and place it over bridges of land to make it seem like a bridge.
So you can do that?

Don't feel like you have to use custom paths... I use them very sparingly, the juxtaposition of the high res in-game textures and the low res custom paths turn me away from them.

I know, it's really overwhelming. As @versed wadi said, you don't have to use them. It was just a suggestion because you sadly can't place the regular paths on the beaches. I don't know if you already know that, but in case you put a custom design on the ground and then find a better one online, don't worry you don't have to redo the entire area. You can simply put the new code at the spot of the old code when you're downloading it and it will automatically replace it on your island :)

Yeah, for example.. some of the designs for The Path use the texture filtering to their benefit, and can look great.

If you have > 150 weeds on your island. New ones that you plant will never grow past their initial stage.

hey could you guys send pictures on how you did your neighborhood/residential areas? I'm so torn over having them all in one place (which would take up a chunk of my island) or have them spaced out (but then i would have to run around all over the place to see them and i like it when they gather together)

Starting terreform. Using happy design planner before I start. I think I'm gonna remove all furniture from island, then try to make a bunch of $. Then do villagers house area first. Any other tips before I dive in?

@wary crown so... this is my current layout. empty i know.. but this island has been terraformed 1000+ hours. i would say you should pick a corner and start from there. it will be really tempting to bounce to other areas, but it would look weird when those 2 areas meet sometimes 🙂 and DONT RUSH when it comes to terraforming!

middle is a pirate fortress and the right side are going to be samurais invading my pirates! ahhhhhhh
