Ok I need some advice. So I have most of my houses within a 5×7 barrier or a Japanese style fenced area of sorts with a mini entryway + a decoration + a streetlamp.
My main question is would it be worth terraforming the circled area in the second photo and scrapping the river to make way for a full fledged residential area? So that I can fully centralise the houses from the western end, the middle and eastern side (eastern houses dont have these fenced areas) together? I'll have to move some streets around but it'd be worth it I think.

@half isle it could look good, it just depends on what you want to do in the middle section and how you terraform :) you could make the middle section the art market area where Redd sells to the museum directly (or a market where the fake rejected art goes) :)

@restive flame you can go into your museum to look at fossil sets if you've completed most of them and see which ones match together and should search for. I personally use the T-rex and Quetzal together in front of my museum :)

@slow hatch all dropped items (leaves, tools, materials) will lower rating because Isabelle counts that as "litter". The only thing you can do is pick it up and place them inside your house if you dont want your rating to go down 🙂

@slow hatch Isabelle does allow a few dropped items to be outside and not lower rating tho, I think if you don't drop stacks (since the turnips comes in stacks of 10 I think) and only drop 1 turnip per plot, you can place a few outside and the rating won't change ^^

Log stakes in from of the signpost, you can still read it, but it adds a touch of depth. It may be too much of the same color in that spot tho, so be careful

For windflowers, any suggestion in what theme they would go well in? I used mums by my cider trees...pansies by the shores, cosmos I used the colors depend on where it compliment another outdoor furniture color. I mostly have blue and purple, not crazy for the pinks...I just don’t know what aesthetic scene it fits for outdoors?

@woven drift I have 7/10 of the framed pictures. Giving them gifts certainly helps. It adds a bonus if you wrap them. Nook's Cranny always has two different colors of wrapping paper selling everyday. You get more friendship points when you allow them to sell you stuff and do requests for them and find lost items and stuff like that. However hitting them with nets, shoving them or talking to them constantly to the point where they get angry willl lower your points. When you reach a friendship lvl of 5 there is a chance they'll give you their picture. You'll reach 6 when they want to start trading with you. I could be wrong but I don't think there is a certainty of getting their picture? But I don't know for sure. It's still very likely as long as you keeo giving them stuff tho. Btw, you can costumize the frame :))

If you dont have paths yet (incase you dont), placing fences and then puttin the building’s shadow inside works! Considering how you so expertly explained friendship, I doubtful you actually need any of what I said, sorry, but it might be useful for someone if not you!

@atomic venture hi! the only advice i can give you is to use CLIFFS!! I like to have different themes in different areas, so I seperate them with decorated cliffs, I put them on different levels, etc! Makes the transitions smooth

@muted trellis (it’s everything below my museum) idk i guess having my museum behind the cliff where the tailors shop goes and knowing that my island is cottagecore i have a lot of trees and idk i think i should’ve put it somewhere else, i haven’t decorated much of the shops or that small strip behind it but i know for a fact tha trees might cover up the museum area which i’m super proud of

@paper stag that's my layout exactly right now except my Abel's is behind Nooks on the left side of RS plaza. I'm working on the space in front of Nooks as a rest stop for travelers. So seating, drink machine, and any other comforts. Also working on a mini gas station for Dodo airlines to refuel from. Haven't yet decided on the space between the airport and RS. I'm leaning more towards a botanical garden or maybe an archeological dig site/ruins.
