@vapid arrow Yes flowers and fencing always works, personally I like putting the natural square table+iron garden chairs customised as seating areas around my museum, and add books, coffee cups etc on top of the tables

I'm wondering if it's a waste to have the valiant statue in a position where you'd have to look up to see it since it's such an expensive item... I noticed most people with viewing areas tend to have a cliff with the items off in the distance so you naturally see it, but I have 2 areas like this where you have to look up to see ): Should I just move it?

@stray flame If you have a custom path, yes you can lay it on top of the dirt path but it's not necessary. The only annoying part is that custom paths don't show up on the map

Tbh, I wanted to just cheat and come here all the time and ask, then after trying that I took tours... In my opinion those are the best ways of scaling and looking at designs. Because Scaling and Cliff Design are the things that get me the most.

@crisp thunder I think those layouts with double inclines leading up to the museum look great, but i'd only do it if i knew i had inclines to spare - theres a limit of 8 bridges and inclines. Personally i'm having a hard time designing the rest of my island because I only have 1 left for each

@cunning knot I think it looks good as is, but i see a couple problems you might encounter in the future like, you cant put trees on those cliffs because almost all have no space, even furniture will be difficult. Also it's really close to the beach which might give you some problems. If i were you i would just remove those 1 block wide cliffs and put trees so that you have space to put decorations, and if you arent happy with the shape of the pond i think you can always extend it to make a river

@cunning knot If anything, i think you could at least have something like what i have at the very end of the video, but you can see how i tried to make all the cliffs at least 2 wide so i can walk around hahhaa. You really can't just have one or two block wide cliffs in total and expect to have a hidden cliff area

Well for me I looked at my island and declared a certain section a specific theme and had a real world personal experience to base it off. So maybe declare a section of your island a village where you a bunch of different kinds cafes in between the villagers houses. Think of your hometown or a popular neighborhood in a city for inspiration. @gaunt jetty

@compact adder if you're going for japanese cottage core, i definitely think white and pink lilies will look best on your island. if you have them, the lily of the valley flowers will also look nice, but any other flowers might look strange unless theyre in a garden

i definitely think you can still use zen fencing, but i'd limit it to the more developed areas of your town - perhaps in the place where you have all your shops/marketplace or if you make a zen garden area. If not, country fences and hedges look fine

@stray spear Thanks ^^ The bookshelves are necessary for an outdoor library IMO, those tiny wooden block ones just don't cut it, but they're painful to get. I'm lucky to have gotten books in my nooks which was when i decided to make the library lol

i find that having it so where things are still functional works best for me, it looks good and even if it looked a bit spread out in pics, when someone visits it works perfectly from their perspective yafeel

I discovered something neat and I thought I might as well share it, I’ve seen people do these nice heart shape paths, but I found a way to make em better, a normal heart is on the left the one the right is the same but improved, simply copy this checkerboard pattern(pink and clear) then put it over the heart shaped pathing, because of it being transparent it’ll retain its heart shape (I hope that explanation made sense) 😅

@woven drift You could mayby place all your villagers on the beginning on the beach. Remake you island how you want it. And then move the villagers back in the places you would like them to live

@woven drift My advice is to never compare Islands! I did that and it Made me hate my own Island. I got out of it when I pretty much rebuild my island and found inspo in other Islands. It's a lot easier to rebuild your island than restarting completely.

it takes a long time for unlocking terraforming and get a lot of money, but if you get it you can put all homes and buildings/plants/flowers/trees on the beach and terraform your whole island, you can time travel if you want 🙂

@west forum I think the moon would look cooler than the rock head statue there especially at night, unless you manage to get your hands on a different statue like the valiant/gallant ones

@west forum Actually now that i'm looking at it, since you seem to have a japanese theme a great statue there might actually fit better, either that or if you really want a statue there 5(?) warrior statues in a group there might be good! I don't see the problem in having to look up to see the statue, actually since it's by the entrance itll be seen in the flyover anyway. If you scroll up a bit i sent a pic of my beach that has an area you can only see a valiant statue if u look up
