i first think about where i want my buildings to go. like do you want your houses all next to each other or spaced out, do you want your shops close together, etc. then think about if you want those things to be on cliffs or not. then, what shape river are you gonna have? i think about what areas i want to create on my island. for example a cafe area, playground area, stuff like that. and imagine roughly how much space those are

@languid scaffold I put my nook shop and able sisters in my market area along with a little café. Placing stalls, chairs, and tables around give it a very market feel along with some fencing or bushes 🙂
