But I am looking for someone to help plan/design my island:

FIRSTLY: Yes I have used Pinterest, Yes I used Happy Island Designer, Yes I have used my imagination, Yes I have spent multiple weeks watching tutorials and trying to do what I have learnt in game. And I still am struggling. 😪

The vibe/aesthetic I would love is in the pictures above! I love the misty, rainy, gloomy, forest, rocky vibe!

I am first planning to work on my entrance and the path to resident services. Then possibly on where to place shops and buildings, along with my residents homes.
I do have more specific ideas and pictures and ideas for how I want some of my lay out and placement to be which I will send if anyone is interested in helping via dm.

I am aware other players can’t physically do the building for me, I just really need some help with the following:

• Planning out my island (whether its using a website that is to plan your island out or anything else)

• Possibly able to slightly break down instructions, or provide examples (for example I have tried multiple times to build a waterfall entrance using pictures from Pinterest as a guide but I was physically unable to do it, I could not properly scale it, I couldn’t figure out how they made certain shapes or were able to place certain things etc) - THIS ONE IS NOT A REQUIREMENT! IM HAPPY WITH JUST HELP PLANNING!

• Possibly recommending what custom design paths go where etc, and help picking ones to use

-Also if it’s possible, if it’s something to do with layout planning etc, it would also be great to have a estimate of squares (I don’t know math terms but basically just the amount of sq x sq is required)

Hi, first of all in case you didn't know yet, two of the acnh pics you are showing are from mod*ed island which means you can never have this results. I'm french so I'm not sure what you are really looking for so excuse me in advance 🥲 I think there is a spécial website which you can plan your island, with a little bit of research you can easily find the name, like terraforming acnh website or something like that. I also recommend you to not trust all acnh pics you see because they are simply not possible to make in game. You can DM me if you want to discuss more

With Animal Crossing being a forced perspective isometric game, it's really good to have an understanding of how to utilize background, middleground and foreground.
Look into framing.

Try creating the three in a very basic way. Play with the background before creating a middleground, find where you want people to look. Then allow the foreground to breathe so it's not pulling the viewer's attention from where you want.

The trickiest part of this game, and a reason why some builds just "feel clunky" is blending. You want to understand the contrast of the background, foreground and middleground. Sometimes you want the background to be the focal point, so it may not be blended as much as the middleground is to the foreground, providing a stark contrast. This can be applied to any of the levels in any variable way.

But most importantly, if something feels right to you, then it's right. You are an artist and your island is your forever painting. Enjoy

I don’t like helping people design their island I flat in my entire island. It’s actually taking months for me to figure out what I’m gonna do and I finally relate after a couple months. Depends on what you make of it. People like resident services far away from the airport because they like filling that space; it’s easy to make a path and start from there. But you can still decorate around your island.

Or you can reset it and look for an airport farther away. But is that worth it to redo all your progress? It’s up to you.

It sounds like you already know that your wants are not going to be met with the limits of your island. While I understand it may be difficult with the progress you've already done, if what you intended and want the most is a lot of terraforming at the entrance then your only choice is to reset for a layout that will accommodate that.

Besides that, if you opt to keep the island, I always tell everyone with an adjacent airport and resident services to not fight against it and instead build a large town square. It will be the opposite of large landmasses up front but will call for more flat space filled with things for you (the players), your villagers, and player visitors to interact with.

Here is version 3 of my wisteria map. I used HomeTinkerer's google sheet map as a template. Home in the center, town square with shops to the left, and village off to the right. Tried to do minimal landscaping to sand areas in case we aren't allowed to manipulate them, and also really liked rivers with cascading falls so I made to of them that are parallel to each other.

got my topography done! the island will be styled like a mountain ridge, with waterfalls converging into a single river at high elevations, and an estuary at the lowest part of the island

the town is huddled around the town center/ airport, leaving much of the island a wild expanse, and a nature trail will snake around points of interest like Fisherman's Point and Sunken Cove. just be sure not to wander into the cursed side of the island!

After hearing about the news regarding no river mouth / beach adjustments, made some changes and used a base template to make the town work!

Also using the assumption the Townhall must be on the lowest ground level and it was at the fixed position.

All assumptions until we see in depth terraforming ourselves. But based on images and videos, river mouths have rock under the water by the beach indicating a limit and based on a study of 40 spawn maps the town hall has always spawned in a certain area on the lowest tier.

Backstory Add-On: 1000 years have gone by and the myth was true. A comet did strike the island. Luckily, it didn’t deal bad damage to the town.

Finally after weeks of working on this, I finished my plan for my island just in time. I based it off of @rose harbor 's design (which I will post below), making some modification both for practical and personal adjustments. Unfortunately, the pine trees do not show up as well as I hoped especially on the 2nd level, but you should be able to zoom if you want to see them clearly. For paths, the lighter brown is dirt and the orange/red is brick. The fences are zen fences. Purple boxes are villager houses, orange box is my house, and pink box is an undecided building. The Roost in the middle is not confirmed (as far as I know) so that may become just an outside dining area. Bridges will be red zen bridges & I have yet to decide which stairs I will use. Yellow indicates furniture, 1x1s at path intersections are most likely signposts, 1x2s are benches in most cases. The trees in top middle are fruit trees.

I also made an alternate running under the assumption that town hall cannot be moved. Old TH location was replaced with a plaza including a fountain.

@wary granite basically you either have to use a nook miles tickets to an island with a random villager you can invite, you build a campsite and random villagers will visit that you can permanently invite if you want Or you ignore or hit a villager with a net until they want to move out,,, when they move out you can bring a friend to an island and have the villager move to them!!

Moving buildings are a handful.
You need resident services level 2, and you can only move one building a day at a fee.
