guys, plz help …. something feels so off about these parts on my island! i dont know how to go around with this, it just feels a little …. Plain.
like, how can i improve on it?
i mean, i was suggested a fairy garden and that sounds neat but… i dont know how to do That with This
this is my dream adress if you wanna look at it yourself. it just feels Off
You can add potted plants to it, more fences, and that one arch that has lights. You can also look at your diys and make anything you think will fit
i dont really feel like that would make me think it looks better
like.. i want more space for my veggies and i want my flower garden to look less Random
but idk how to go through with that
i dont wanna have to relocate my little dessert place nearby and ruin the path to gayles house and all of that
you could get rid of some of the flowers, or move them to another spot
in fact, i wish the heart at the top could be front facing but im not sure how to go through with that either!
im just really confused.
i mean, my old flower storing soace is now said dessert place
do i take id dow?
You can put them anywhere for storage technically
You could also add more trees if you think that might make it look more full
i did!
and my main part doesn’t look as odd
but now idk where to put my flowers if i do maintenance!!!
I'll take a look at your island so that I'll be able to help you better
For me personally, I think you need more rivers and ponds, and you can decorate them how you like, if you don't have any ideas you can look on pinterest or Instagram.
And talking about the specific place, I think it looks quite good, but it's lacking a bit in furniture. Where your crops are, I think it again looks really good, but it's still a little empty without furniture, you could add more farm like furniture since it's where your crops are.
For the rest of your island, I think you need more flowers and shrubs around, (if you don't want the look of fences but you don't want them to take over your island, you can use a blank custom design and stick it on the floor and it'll keep the flowers from spreading.)
I think the main difference between the main part of your island and your flower and crop patch, is: you have a lot more trees in the main part of your island.
Another thing you can do that I think will look very good is: adding more terrain, because it's quite flat currently, and you can add more levels to your island, and you can add inclines instead of ladders in some spots.
I can't really tell you which kind of furniture, tree, or color of flower/shrubs to use because it's your island and you should like it, so I'd suggest, to either pick a theme for your island or create a theme based off of what's already on your island. And if you already have a theme then good for you! Because all you have to do is lean more into the said theme, (like having a color palette for flowers/shrubs)
That's kind of all I can give you, and you don't have to follow my comments perfectly, because again, it's your island and you should like the way you make it.
OH and you can put your flowers anywhere you're not currently working on, because you have a lot of plain space and unless you're currently working on that specific part, you can put them anywhere.
thank you!!
Yeah, no problem! And keep in mind that you can change anything if you don't like the way it looks.
I'm excited to see the final look ^^
should i make this entire section platformed?
ive also been considering making the section on the right smallerso i have more land for the main part
i did this on my last island, and i liked that so i wanna try again but im not sure
I think it'd look good! something I did was: I had two sections platformed, with a path through it, so that I could have a path to the next area and still have furniture and plants but out of the way
that makes sense!
im gonna try and do something like i did on my old island. i can tell you the da if u wanna see what it is but do not mind my old islander
That's very nice, but I think I'm good ^^
ok ::3
This looks so cute! 😍 My brain just needed way too long to realise how you created this illusion 🙈
For me I filled in my spaces with tiny areas like a mail shop or flowers or a scenic area. Feel free to dm me if you want some examples
Can I send you what I have rn?
My map makes absolutely no sense lol
Lol, that's how you know you have a good island
Ty ty 😂 I still have a lot to work on tho but I just ran out of inspiration juice
Better get to sip sipping 😂
Dark/Gothic Victorian themed islands @woven drift
That looks absolutely wonderful. I wish my map looked half as whimsical as that!
Awwww thaaaanks

Tyyy <3
YOURE THE BEST
Trying to create a little proposal spot but idk. Need some input on this
Cute!! Maybe more flowers on the ground
Potted ones
Orrr red roses surrounding it. Or white or red hyacinths!
I really wanna redo my island but I don’t have a design to go with 😭 i was about to flatten my island but i don’t wanna flatten if i don’t need too
Anyone have any ideas where to start? I tried advertising im lf a map designer in player services but no hits
I’m wanting to do a like japanese theme, city with the museum and shops but like foresty/cottagey otherwise if that makes sense
It sounds like you want to do a rural japanese town. I have some inspo pictures of that
Yess please that’s exactly what I’m looking to do
Like a city theme for the shops & some homes and then a rural or cottagecore theme for the rest
Could you send them my way?
Sure. I'll send some your way
Thank you!
Qr chalk drawings, random placement of weeds, add some sports gear and other playground equipment
u can turn nook's cranny into a church-looking thing with the plaza arch and clock, idk if they're customizable tho
i found these on pinterest, i think it is possible
does someone have a idea for a zen/ japanese city layout? (my island right now)
work in progress 💚
its slowly coming together
posting the hotel here
waterscaping is harder than i thought (heres a lil idea of what i want to do)
ignore that glitch at the right, idk why the website does that
Looking for flower field inspo!
A few photos from my Viking themed island, with inspiration taken from Iceland and Norway topography
Tried to use only the resources that were available during the time of the Vikings.
I can’t seem to land a pattern for this cafe idea I have here… any textured brick tiles that might work for this layout? Or general ideas for this space?
i had so much fun making this, how would this look as my island theme?
i love it!
hi alll wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to integrate/ hide cedar wasp trees into their island design? I have 3 of them 🤕
Sooo, I have an empty rooftop right next to my school (elementary) and I have no clue what to put there that would make sense. Any ideas?
What’s the rooftop a part of? Like what building is next to the school
It was just a building I used to seclude the school and separate it from a street that leads to a farmer's market
My first intention was to make it a residence but the area is too big so I thought maybe another activity could be up there
You like so far
Woahh...Do you have like, a DA or something? The targets I love especially
Thanks! My dream address is actually my old Halloween themed island! I don’t want to overwrite it lol if you like to come see the Viking island this week I can make that happen. My house / villager houses aren’t done but the rest of the island is complete.
I’m having trouble visualizing that without a photo
I've decided to turn it into a ceramics crafting area. I realized I didn't have one in my island yet. It will be a little tricky but I'm set on it.
Hey y'all, trying to figure out my island's "neighborhood" area with the shops and houses, which layout do y'all think is nicer?
I think both look nice but I think the left one looks like more yard space for each villager if you care about that, while the right leaves more room for things you could potentially want to do with that slightly extra land
Yeah i am fond of the first one, but my bf doesn't want a "mega-plaza" and suggested putting the two shops behind the rs and museum
I could spread out the houses on the second one a bit over to the left I guess to make more yard space for them
It didn't work so I'm moving the ceramics elsewhere and keeping the space empty while I work on other areas
What genre are the items in these pics & what are they called?
I’m restarting my island and I’m trying to wishlist the items in the pics on nookazon but idk what half of the items are called
I would describe it as like a "zen" aesthetic maybe? It's like traditional Asian/Japanese-themed
You can get items identified in #game-help-questions❓ as well, but I would suggest circling the items you want identified, and asking about a few items at a time so as not to overwhelm people, bc that's a ton of items in all those pictures together lol 😭
You can also use Google Lens or some type of image search to try and find most of them yourself first, and then just ask about the ones you're really having trouble finding!
Ohhh thank you I couldn’t remember what the correct channel was 😭 I was so sure it was this one whoops
Ooh I love the target plates also the pathing (what are the code for the pathing if you still have them? 🙂 )
some other pics of my island, was asking what is the « core » theme of my island ?
I was wondering if someone could help me with my island design. Specifically the neighborhood I made. Are there any changes you might recommend? I want to move the player houses north of the villager houses but then that corner will be empty. Any thoughts?
Swap where campsire and player houses are maybe? Houses won't be to the north but still be closer.
hm. There's an idea. Thanks!
Could someone help me with this area? Right next to it is a small store !
Np!
Not sure what your preference is are or what your theme is but I would recommend a playground with the spring horses and elephant slides. That's what I'm planning to do somewhere on my Island when I first get on my dream villagers so I can put them where I want them
My first approach would be a little playground gym and maybe somr tire seats
any ideas on what I can put behind nooks cranny? for reference, im going for an autumn/halloween theme island. to the right of the image is resident services if that makes any difference
You could put a pumpkin patch there, or any other crop.
Or a sitting area, you could also put a café behind it so it's kinda like how target has Starbucks but better because it's nooks cranny
SPOOKY PLAZA
like this but 👻 spooky 👻
I've hit a new crisis! I suddenly want to change my villagers!
but I don't really want to kick anyone out
After careful consideration, I've decided to change only 3 of them
Nvm it's only gonna be 2 but I'll have to make a few changes to the lore
Omg i just went through the same thing whahahahah
who did you pick/change?
Kicking Marshal and Sprinkle for Phil and Audie
These villagers have been with me for years so this will hurt
anyone have foolproof vertical area fillers? 🤕 i have this whole bunch of real estate I'm not entirely sure what to do with.. I already have a forest trail/farms/store/shopping area and would love some inspo for other types of areas 😁
And last but not least, my vineyard! This is probably the oldest part of my island (lore wise) and it was a struggle to put it together but I'm really happy with the result. It's supposed to be one of these places that receives visits and holds picnics with their own products (hence the table). (Repost bc I sent it to the wrong channel lmao)
Redid my entrance
Can someone give me an idea of how to make my island more organised. My idea was to have cliffs with trees at the very back of the island as filler but that leaves me with only one layer of land and it seems awkward to terraform the rest of the island with cliffs. What can I do? Any recommendations are appreciated!
I like that cliff idea! I would keep it. You could definitely try building some cliffs a bit further away from them and it should still look fine I think!
Maybe you could rebuild your river to run closer alongside the cliffs, then it can be sort of a divider for you to build more cliffs below it
That’s a great idea! I was kinda worried of the spacing between if I did more cliffs towards the bottom of the island. Wouldn’t it defeat the whole purpose of the cliffs at the back? I also want to scatter the villagers more further apart from each other so I can make a little front yard area for each one😭 this is my first island and Im so lost lol
A lot of it is just trial and error, creating and destroying, until you get something you like! At least that's how I play lol
Maybe I struggle because I wanna make it perfect in time for Halloween lol 😭 I’ll try out your idea tho! Thanks a lot!💖
I can also imagine maybe lining all the houses up at the back along the cliffs with the river in front of the houses, but that's just an idea!
That sounds really nice! Thank you! I’ll try changing only the river first and we’ll see how it goes! xd
Should i make the bunny on the cliff into the gray and white bunny?
yes imo
Thank you!
Any tips on how to make these steps look more natural?
I’m so bad at ground designs
make the tiles on the sides a different design or add an item like plant partition or evergreen ash there(left and right) of the stairs to make it look like its a different elevation. this is how i do it on my island
Okay that makes more sense, thanks so much!
If anyone has any good ideas for small builds I can put in a fall island surrounded my this theme, let me know!
yess, it adds contrast and variation
I agree! Ty!!!
yw!
A pumpkin carving spot, a pie eating contest, spots where the villagrs will sit and give out candy
I'm in love with your island
thank you
Hey so, my island is super colorful but so far I've only used white tulips, white cosmos and white plumerias. I grew all colors of the other flowers but I really don't know how to decorate with flowers. I don't want to throw them all away. I want to at least keep some yellow and pink ones. Any tips to place them?
anyone have any dream adresses for inspo that are a bit normcore? I prefer having a more natural look but I also like having sections with cool items like mushroom items/glowing moss items etc
I have space left on my island that idk what to do with, rn I have a flower/celestial garden, some ruins, mushroom/fire place, zen garden and orchard+crops
Island dream addresses??
i would say you could put some villagers house just in front of the cliffs, and then decorate the cliffs
I was kinda thinking the same thing! I think Im gonna do that!
Toys R Us is back
nice
The flyover is so colourful I'm obsessed
rainy nights
Dose this read as a small plaza/flea market type situation?
i find it cozy and a nice picnic spot!
also what's the code for the picnic blanket?
Everything I got from Pinterest, thank you, I finally found inspiration
If you/anyone wants to look at the codes and such Ive saved
thank you!
Of course!!
Just finished my entrance and wanted opinions its cottage core/farm core but i feel the entrance shows more cottage core
I am trying to work out how to put the forbidden alter, Stonehenge, moai statue, sphinx and Statue of Liberty together as something
A soccer pitch ⚽
looking for inspiration for these empty areas around my museum!! 🤕
I making a citycore island and some of the areas in the pictures feel pretty empty any ideas on what I could put there
You could put extra fossils or fake art around it
I wish I was as good as you at decorating
oo yeah considering that! i already have a giant brachio out though, but maybe I could add more fossils
I just wanted to share a park I made for my citycore island anyone can feel free to copy it
that's nice! most of the park is taken over by flowers lol-
I personally like it with all the flowers also makes less decorating for me
sometimes i would dig up only a few flowers so it looks a little nicer and put an invisible custom design around them or on the spot so you can place something there
Anyone have any orchard ideas?? I have a massive empty space on my island and I want to put an orchard there but idk how I can make it look good 💀
I found this design on Reddit it might help you
my orchard is jist a circle of trees around a pond bc i needed both an orchard and a pond but didnt have space
Any ideas on how I can make my lemonade stand look better
I'll look some ideas up
I'll DM you something that's related to that
it took me a couple of islands to get good at building it just takes time
Does anyone have ideas for a sort of gothic train station? I'm struggling on smaller decor and actually making the train itself. I've been using those custom design cutouts but might want to go for something a bit more complicated
Do you have anything so far?
i suggest to start looking on Pinterest for ideas
I am trying to work out how to put the forbidden alter, Stonehenge, moai statue, sphinx and Statue of Liberty together as something
Does any one have a idea
Its looking great! Perhaps you could try traffic related items like traffic lights, street lamps, retro gas pump or a crosswalk path design.
hmmm I have my custom designs laid out and a few grey medieval sides
It's pretty bare at the moment
I'll probably incorporate candle sets, but i can't seem to find many train builds online...not even has that interest I guess lol
I love trains
Do you want a train and box cars?
Still designing based of Melemele island, anyone have recs for the stretch of areas above and below the campsite? I already have berry fields, cemetery, working on the meadow, etc.
Go for it I need all the help I can get😅
I gotta make a villager neighborhood but it's gonna take forever:\
Well my suggestion is dolls like take a stall/store front or a display case and use simple pannels and make a doll br driving the train the an open box car with dolls and sewing kits i think thats gothic horror
yeah took me a while to get it figured out lol
Oooooo
Other than that idk im sorry
No worries!! That's still helpful
Anyone got any weird core island builds? Im making a spooky rain island
Little (or not-so-little) Orchard/Museum set-up.
The orchard is just behind the museum, and the path that leads to the museum is sort of connected.
Woahhh what's that brick stuff on the ground is that like a custom design?
omg I love the raised beds!!
figured out my solution to weird looking filler spaces; to combine two spaces and just clutter it CLUTTER IT YIPEEEE and it'll look so much more intentional
i love clutter builds
It is, yeah!
I really really need help, I don’t know what to do with this part of my island :(
and it’s just the most important part. My entrance and the resident services. I don’t know what to do with this space I got and I really need help. It’s been empty for years. I’ve put a little path down to help me get an idea of what I want. But idk. I can move anything, nothing in that whole part is permanent. I NEED advice, tips reference photos, anything helps
I have a layout similar to that too with res services to the right of the airport; ngl I just put cliffs to fill up the space 🤣 but you could do a bike rental corner, perhaps a little fountain/cliff with waterscaping, or a convenience store/newstand! a small garden/bbq area, or campsite with the kids tent would look cute too :)
Thank you for your suggestions!! Is there any chance you have any reference photos..? I’m having a hard time picturing it..
I dont have exact reference pictures but here are some screenshots from my island and also some crossers online!
old pictures but ie the waterscaped area and tent area, I actually updated it to make a path direct to the centre of res services that you can see in the back. the convenience store is the empty space right next to res services..! im doing a bad job at explaining lol but you can see what i mean by using cliffs to fill big areas
I think the best way to fill a lot of space is to treat it as multiple small filler areas instead of one massive area to fill, makes it less intimidating:D
Nah to this my Island looks like trash
restarted recently and got to work on my airport entrance (still WIP)
idk but i can try to help around 3:00pm EST maybe?
idk if the bridge ruined the star gazing spot nearby, anyways any suggestions?
I'd suggest some trees and shrubs! More shrubs then trees because you got a look up. And I'd also suggest adding a picnic, or a small café! Or a reading spot just because
if you want like a blanket or to do a picnic like madilyn suggested here is a great custom path code
i used that one lol
thanks for the feedback!
my b
lol you're ok dw
still a WIP but this is what i got going on here and im lovin it so far
ft. zell in the corner
OMG NAOMI
What should i put in this little spot?
maybe a water cooler near the camp site?
Maybe a campfire or a barbecue
I visited the fair by the beach with Marshal. One last hangout before he leaves the island
I also found Drago... cleaning the beach?
it's his house's front so ig that makes sense
And, finally, I had this very odd shaped and thin cliff I had no idea what to do with, and after much trial and error, I came up with this little tea house. I'm very much pleased with how it came out
(Those stairs lead to a secret spot btw)
Almost forgot! My rooftop restaurant got an upgrade
Idek what this is called but it's finished
There's also this part which is the "Old Town" or more like the original island. It has been finished for a long time but I have never posted about it (I think?) Here the original islanders grow produce basically next to their buildings and everything is more rustic. I got obsessed with the idea of making this part a sunken area and it was nightmare-ish to work with it but it's definitely one of my favorites
Wow it looks so good
I wanted all the produce available in the game but I knew a conventional farm wouldn't cut it on my island so I had to be a little creative
I have that in my bbq area on the rocks just wasnt built in that picture
Have a bbq already nearby and the campfire doesnt feel right
fishing rod stand? so the campers can go fishing?
Already have off to the more front of the campsite i have fishing rods and a bucket
I mean I think most people's campsites I've been to have had a campfire/firepit and a barbecue
I already have a bbq it just wasnt built when pic was taken and it feels to close to the water and to far from the campsite for a camp fire
Wait I read that wrong sorry, I thought you said having a campfire and barbecue near each other doesn't feel right 😭
Oh noooo its okie
I've been using this programme on my laptop to help plan my teraforming before I build and end up tearing stuff down but I still feel like my Island looks like 💩 lollll help 😭
it's alright! you'll get the hang of it!
I think I just need to keep scribbling cliffs in and carve out later 🤔
Omg what's that software? Looks amazing!
@woven kraken Hi there! Please speak English only. Thank you!
Do you have a dream Adress to visit? :0
Just wanted to show my french style garden. Pretty proud of it
It still has my original island design. I haven't updated to what it is now. There's a lot of work to do yet
Ohh oki, I'll keep stalking you then until you have it done, it looks amazing 👀
As you should! That is beautiful
I wish I could combine flowers
Much appreciated 😂
Thank you very much ^^
I breeded everything myself.
Just left the flowers go wild for years haha
I made a hybrid station yesterday. I'll try to make purple flowers myself. I hope I can get there 🥲
I remember when I decided to breed mine. Everything was relatively easy with time travel and a little strategy... until I had to breed the blue rose
Oh gosh x) yeah the blue rose
I don't want to use any time travel personnally. I'm sur it'll drive me crazy eventually but meh
I like it that way x)
The humble entry way of my house's garden
Is the humble in the room with us?
That looks like yhe entrance for a palace. Even the shadow in the back looks like a castle
Lmao
Yeah that's the joke
I went all out hahaha
I'd like to make a medievalish island someday
Thank you very much!!
It's pc/mac only tho no app
That's cool thank you ^^
I absolutley adore your island! This is just absolutely perfect!
Awww thank you so much

hey, everyone. I am back with an update.
The question is what can I do with the empty space I have left. Any ideas? Moving villagers around seems to be going well.
A national park
that might work. 😄
ehat should i do with the spaces circled?
my theme is very Cutesy… and nurse-y. the misc spaces are a medicine stand, a place to weave and sew and a little reading spot and a table near the lower bridge with fruit
complete with kk rock on a tape deck!!
Today, for a change of pace, I decided to finally put some effort into my (very neglected) beaches. My goal is to make them very messy looking, as if there's a lot of visitors everyday. I also try to "extend the main land" with grass and dirt custom codes for a more natural look. There's still a lot of other beaches to work on but at least this one is done
and I know how cluttered it appears but I always make sure to leave enough walking space to fish comfortably
On a different note. I had been struggling with yet another rooftop (I even asked for advice here about this particular one some time ago) I ended up going for a more "conventional" idea and turn it into a penthouse for the island's professor. Let's say he enjoys playing music on his free time
I am at a loss with what to do with a space on my island and would appreciate any insight.
I've been using it for storing flowers while I fine tune some things, and now that I'm nearly there I'm trying to plan ahead. I'd be happy to show some people around to get a better picture, if that would be helpful.
For a little context, it is a museum island, and the area in question is the top center, between the fossil and Blathers' right shoulder.
I am leaning towards keeping this a rotating seasonal exhibit; like a Witches Cove for Autumn, Snow Queen Castle for Winter.
If Dream Addresses are more your thing, I added mine in the appropriate channel, updated as of when I posted this comment.
i need advice... would it be weird to have two lighthouses on my island? one near the kapp'n dock and one on the very back rocks on the island that protrude out? it would make sense to put lighthouses there since boats would need to see irl, but i don't want it to feel too repetitive. if not two lighthouses, then which location should i choose?
I think it'd look fine if you had two lighthouses, And those locations would be perfect for lighthouses!
It's your island and you can do whatever you want to it so if you have an idea and you want to do it, do it
Not my island having like 5 just because
A tip: the items in the game don't always have to be seen as their original intent. A lighthouse item can just be a random building to decorate or fill a space.
normally a fan of cherry blossom season but i'm enjoying the lush green so far
silly new player just starting out… but i guess tips for my lil zen garden area? it’s on a lil patch of land on my island that ends in the ocean so im kinda pushing/pulling stuff into the right places
That's so cute! Ig you could add some stone pathing underneath the spring when you unlock it
just to give it a littlw more depth. Also add a few flowers. If you have the bamboom shoot lamp DIY, it could be a good addition to the set as mood lighting
I made this trying to use the same items you have, mainly just added more vegetation
I just got the lamp diy in a yard sale which was a lucky find !! and those fence diy’s were on sale at nooks today so i’ll buy those! and i JUST got terraforming so i think i MAY lookup a few custom paths for it… thank you so much!! yours looks super cute btw!! (what are those lamps??)
EDIT:: I got the candle holder so those are the lamps, that’s cool!!
Happy to help!
Built a carnival/theme park and a fruit picnic area
Woahh wait you can ask for island design advice here??
Hey folks
I went through a bad breakup this year, with my ex suddenly ending our 13 year relationship. I have been playing this same island on ACNH since launch, occasionally getting back into it every year, so I don’t feel like I really want to restart my island after all of those memories and how important it was during covid lockdowns for me and friends - but I finally feel ready to delete my ex’s house from my island.
We thought it would be funny to hide his house in the secret beach area, only accessible by two vine ropes the player can’t see.
Any ideas on what I could repurpose this tiny hidden space for? I don’t particularly want to re terraform the immediate area, but i could be open to it - it’s a pretty awkward size/shape. oh, I also have in mind that my island has a casual “deep woods” sort of theme
How about a wishing well?
Ye, welcome
Fam... that feeling has come back. That feeling that makes me wanna reset and build something entirely different. Some of you might have been here the previous times I've mentioned it. This time, I even managed to pick out the villagers for this new island
Anyone have tips for basically flattening and stuff? I want tools to be able to plan out my island and can't find many helpful resources. Theoretically I have a few things that I have in mind but things are going to take forever considering I still have parental controls from when I was a kid on my switch(💀) Can't time travel, Don't exactly know what to do with the place, any two cents is helpful!!!
i cannot find a path that i like for this area, too picky..
does anyone know a good custom design path that isn't too bright or distracting and will match the theme of this spot?
also yes i time travelled i'm trying to kick boone
You could just try a simple white/pink wooden path to go with the ramp. Otherwise I'd find something with a translucent background so it's less distracting like you said. Thinking fallen flower petals, but you could get more creative if you wanted. Pebbles, dust, sparkles, clouds, bubbles, whatever.
thanks! i'll see what i can find
This is just what I personally would do; I can't claim to be much of a decoration guru
the ideas are definitely helpful though since i have trouble coming up with them myself sometimes
Happy to help
entrance still in progress but this is what i got so far
Anyone have any ideas for a gothic-vibes island? My whole island is going with that theme, but I’m not entirely satisfied yet. Could use inspiration
dark colored dreamy items and vintage items help
Maybe some stuff like this? Like a funeral area?
Ooooooo those are so cute
hiii i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out with designing my island layout n stuff? i can pay with bells or nmts :3
if anyone has advice for laying out my rivers i will take it
Hmm I personally like them to not be connected and to look nice on the map. It also depends on where you'd like bridges. I tend to do that by observing where I run around all the time. I would suggest the one on the right be small with a little bridge (helpful when fishing). Then the left one can be longer. Maybe a bit squiggly to have more interest. it can then end as a pond maybe on level 3
Maybe angle the bridge on the left at the base near the mouth for some variety if the right is straight across.
:D tysm!
not sure if this is the right place to ask but I was wondering if anyone knows of island designs/DAS where the main cliff level is the second one? thinking of raising my entire island up one level once I unlock terraforming but i would love to see some inspiration if there is any :)
This is Bleakmoor by Bunbee on youtube. The main part is the town which is on the second tier and part of the third. She has a building series and a tour video on her channel. It's really one of my faves and her way of building has greatly influenced my own. Fully recommended 👌🏼
Here is an old image from an old post in discord of one of my islands. The map is still the same but the DA may not work. Hopefully that gives you an idea. It's kinda of a trashy natural theme, mainly done before the 2.0 Update. My main island is a city/town which is about half on the 2nd level. New computer so I don't have an image for that one.
ohhh thank you both lots!!! :) I'll watch bunbees vid, and have a look at their & ghost's DAs once I unlock it -- but the layouts r so cool!!
i unfortunately deleted my other island before i had a chance to complete it but i did have this same idea.. sadly don't have pics of the map but i do have pictures of my airport entrance if you wanted some ideas on how to transition onto the second level
^ i did a double staircase on either side and then a bridge going across the top
still gotta figure out my path network and airport/plaza entrance but i'm pretty happy with it so far!
omg stunning!!! love that
Anyone got inspiration for dreamcore Island? 😅
Getting better at layering the castle items on the different island levels
Nature-filled clifftop view point
(With a boring view
, ill add more to the view soon)
Good place for watching fireworks and making wishes
What exactly is a dreamcore island? All I can think about is an island packed with a bunch of bends and blankets to nap
like soft dreamy vibes with stars and clouds, purply pink and blue gradients
It sounds like care bears
Yeah exactly ^^
One of my old designs i posted on my Pinterest :0
This looks so aesthetically pleasing! Really cool design
Here is my little fishing pond I made as filler
Ty :)
Today I decided to spice things up a bit at the fair. Added an actual place to eat and tbh it made me really hungry
(I have to add, I'm not the biggest fan of how bright white the planks are but it's the best match I could find).
Right next to it, I finally took the time to make some picnic spots. The bottom one is inspired by a group of teenagers. The top one is inspired by a couple having a date
The sanrio kiki & lala furnitures might be a good fit!
And these paths might be nice. I’m using some of them on my island 🙂
Ohhh yes :>
Looking for help on my Japanese themed island, if anyone wants to visit and give pointers I would really love that! I have some Japanese themed stuff in storage as well
Oh my gosh I love what you've done with the blanket mat bed things that's so clever
I relate! Want some inspo too!
Hi, boiscrossing on youtube has some v beautiful islands on urban and rural japanese islands across all seasons. I’m always in awe of her designs!
Thanks! One of my goals is to make my island as interactive as possible
This is my island right now and I really like it so far but I'm not sure if it's the vibe I'm looking for? I want it to kinda feel like the game Stray but I'm having trouble finding codes that would work 。°(°¯᷄◠¯᷅°)°。
It really does remind me of Stray! Especially the first pic. Maybe pulling in the corruption theme of something growing and taking over the city could be fun! Or mixing in some abandoned or trashcore themes
Ooh yes I love that!! Maybe I'll make little Zurks as the hat custom design and litter them around
Can't decide if that would be adorable or just unsetteling😂
Looking for some island inspo. My island is so boring!
It looks very Stray to me! Would be so cute to see an island like this with mostly cat villagers mixed in with a couple robot villagers like Cephalobot or Sprocket. Also you could add in items like the robot arm, or the rescue mannequin to represent the fallen Companion from the beginning of the game! 🐈
Island map inspiration. Made these in Procreate
So, I got super lucky today and got not only Shep but also Julia to move in
I immediately got to work on Julia's yard (she's married to Apollo, that's why his photo is there
) and also added a little canteen in front of their house bc there was a really weird and empty space that I had forgotten about
so I said "yeah, let's make the happy couple a place to hang out." Sorry the quality of the pics isn't too good, the weather wasn't exactly the best
Hey guys I’m trying plan out my island and terraform and I’m struggling is there anyone who would be willing to help me at all🙏🙏
Better quality photo (this is the only time I have actually edited one and it feels weird
)
Starting something new
i'm regretting double south rivers bc all the good designs i like have east or west rivers :( if anyone can help me find good south river cottagecore maps pls lmk
I really like this one
Im super duper proud of this small sushi stand I made
Ignore Sheldon at the back
Now that I look at the menu chalkboard it doesnt suit the vibe but I camt be bothered to switch it up
my desert palace player house 🏰
Anyone got inspiration for a normcore island
I'm about to destroy a quarter of my island and tbh Idk how I'm feeling about it, I just know I have to do it bc it's no longer part of the concept I'm going for
I know that feeling. I redesign parts of my island all the time
My shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows Build 😃🫶
(With 7 swords in the ground to represent the 7 swords of sorrow that pierced Mary’s heart) ❤️🗡️
any ideas for this part of my island? the tiles are suppose to be my sand path, i dont have ables yet 😓
Maybe a bistro table with seats
I'm currently working on my library. Which castle wall should I use (most of the furniture that I'm using is beige/white)?
Anyone have some inspiration pics for a Galaxy/Royal core theme?
Another pic cause the color of these wall are kinda similar
I personally would go with number 2 because it would match well with the other furniture colors. and it's got a little more green and earthy colors, which is always fun 'cause that means you can put plants everywhere and it'll sometimes all of the times look good
Tried to make a small car repair site
But it kinda looks empty
Does anyone have some suggestions?
You should go get tires to make a couple stack of tires and maybe put concrete pathways next to the car and have a couple danger or wet floor signs sitting on the floor
I just started the game can anyone tell me a good tent setup idea?
Honestly doesn't super matter since you can move your house for relatively cheap anyway
I just recommend not having your buildings too far apart. Having to cross the island to go to your museum and then your shops and then your house...it's a lot
There is shops? Wow I didn’t know so much about this game how do I get cherrys right now peaches grow?
Tire stacks! If those exist?
Seems like Julia liked her new yard (also changed the color of the door)
It's been like an hour and she's still there lol
Her yard looks so pretty!
Yes two shops : Able sisters where you will be able to buy clothes and Nooks a general shop to buy a bit of everything
my island coming along so nicely thanks to so many helpful people here
I study Marine Biology at University so I thought I’d get creative and set up some marine labs / work stations on the beach 🐟🐠
How are all y’all so creative??
farmcore entrance so far
Dude this is amazing?!
Does anyone have good ideas/tips for water-landscaping and how to accesorize them ...
I have a small vision in my head but its all so centered around the start of the airport i need to actually actually decorate the rest of my island or else Isabelle wont get out of my head about it
I'm a little confused on what you need help with, could you clarify a bit?
My island is pretty bland and I'm trying to clean it up a bit, basically what I meant to ask was if there was any website at all I could use for guidance on how I want my island to be?
-# I know there is one, but I got no clue what it's called...
I don't want to pay 10k each just to move things around without a plan
https://bobacupcake.itch.io/island-planner
Is this what you're looking for?
YES!!!
Ohhhhhh dude yr a super lifesaver thank you
I appreciate it a lot
Anytime! Happy decorating!
WHAT SHOULD GO HERE!!!! Tropical core island ideas please
juice bar?
Litterally immediately thought that and started to make it!!
great minds think alike, send a pic when it's done!
sushi bar could be cute too
A retro stop and a stall pushed together for a tiny building
AWHH it's so cutee!
(in progress) island farm and museum with outdoor coffee area 🫶🏻
finally made an entrance that im proud of
(for now at least lolol)
daisy and chelseas house, no idea what to put around it though waaa
if anyone has any ideas id really appreciate it thankyou!
can someone come to my island and tell me what i need to improve please
Whats that app? Is it on the phone?
i think itd be easier to use on pc or laptop
A little update on my Stray themed island :) I'm going to add some corruption near the top of the city. Yes, my switch is on fire
For those who don't know stray I attached some images of the game! (Isn't Tangy just perfect here?)
How do i make this spot better its so ugly
I really like it!!! I think maybe a little bit of fencing along the sides of the cliff could help? Or if you make a sort of flower bed next to the bench that could fill the empty areas at the base of the cliff
Thanks!
I want to visit your island so bad
I would let you BUTTT in classic acnh builder fashion the back looks like a trainwreck right now XD
I totally get it. Tho in my case is the beaches. They are either empty or a complete death trap
And rn I'm rebuilding like a quarter of my island so it's a mess. Even my eventory is a nightmare. But I think I have finally figured where to put Able sisters after 3 years of hiding it in the far back.
Oof! Not to mention the mess of custom designs and flowers on one side of your island that you can't bear to clean up yet
It fr be like:
Hey, I just started playing ACNH and wanted to ask if it makes more sense to start designing the island slowly or to wait until you have a lot more items? I just unlocked the terraforming.
I’m not experienced at designing island, but my instinct tells me to go slowly to test out different ideas and see what you like
So you don’t have to suddenly change your whole island all at once, that’s a lot of work!
You could do both depending on how you play! Some people flatten out their entire islands completely before designing. For me, I did what looked cool at the time and slowly changed everything the more I acquired! That keeps the game fresh for me
I designed many things in the beginning and none of them are left lol. IMO the hardest part is tearing down something you spent hours/days/weeks making, but it has always been worth it and turned out better! Also satisfies the ”itch” to build stuff that you don’t plan to keep (like in my case 80’s diner and infinity pool). Can also feel very overwhelming to ”learn” all items at once if you wait till you have them all. So just design as you go and don’t be afraid of tearing stuff down 😎
Well in my personal experience with the game, I kinda rushed at the beginning and that led me to design 6 different islands that really didn't mean anything to me. I was never satisfied with anything I made despite the amount of effort it took. It was only after I took my time understanding the game and my personal styles that I truly started enjoying building islands.
It might be different for you but it's always good to consider all your options
I've had this same island since the game released and I've tried many different ways of planning. I drew a map on paper, I've used the online apps, I've flattened my island. The only thing I haven't done is reset. And I can honestly say that the "best method" that has worked for me, is to just play the game and change things as you go. There will always be parts of your island that you need to flatten in order to redesign, and parts that you want to completely plan out first before starting. And you will almost always be tweaking things down the line. If you want to decorate an area, just go for it! The best time to start is now, and you can always change it later
Okay thank you guys that helped me alot
Late to the convo but I was very picky when I started the game to make sure I got an island I could work with (ex. wanted RS centered with airport), that way I wouldn't regret the island I have when I was too deep into collecting things. I would design here and there knowing I would tear it all down once inspo struck. I did draw out shapes on paper to figure out my map an start terraforming it with the end goal in mind, but I would always tweak with it once I figured out what I wanted to go where. I would also leave spots empty until inspo struck. I think it ultimately depends on how you enjoy the game. I enjoy designing a lot and on days I had no inspo I would instead focus on collecting mats, DIYS, nook miles, fish, etc. So it always keeps the game fun.
Finished my fruit tree orchard

hey guys, sorry if this is inappropriate to post here, but i wanted to ask for advice ^^; ive been working on my gemstone / nighttime themed island, moonstone, for a while, but recently i had an idea i really liked and wanna do instead ( an island w a seasons theme, and different quadrants split up based on each season ),,, i really love moonstone so far and im proud of it, but i dont have the resources to tear it down and do a different thing, so should i just restart ? im hesitant so i thought id ask :3 sorry if this doesnt belong here also !! lmk and i can take my thoughts elsewhere if this clogs up the chat too much lol
how would restarting be the better plan...
wouldn't you still not have enough resources, by the definition of restarting
Yeah, I've learned restarting seems like a better idea, but I think you'd be much better off trying to work with what you've got/expanding off what you have now
Plus, if you're concerned about resources, restarting wouldn't fix that issue.
For me, I kept thinking my island's natural layout was the issue, when really I just didn't (and still don't) have a proper plan in mind
If resources are the issue, restarting wouldn't be wise. However, if you want to preserve Moonstone as a dream address so you can visit it after restarting, that's a different story.
⬆️ Apparently you cannot visit your own dream address 🙁
If you reset you get a new dream address and can visit your old. You can't visit if you just flatten your island and redesign it.
Shame that you can't visit if you also want to keep your stuff :/
Ye
what else can i add to molly’s yard?
Maybe a bee farm with some flowers, or a small produce stand where she sells fruit or food she makes with ingredients from her garden
A small carrot patch to the left since she's got a bunny?
Or a cauliflower with the mum seats, would be a good color match for the flowers she has in the back
A bunch of bunnies stealing from the carrot garden would be very funny! I have something similar with flamingos stealing my beach bbq🥲
thanks!!! those are some great ideas! 🤍🤍
finished! i didn’t have any carrots so i put pumpkins in their place for now…thoughts/suggestions?
Looks nice 💯
Getting ready for spooky szn so I changed my entrance
Hiii I was wondering does anyone have entrance ideas that’s like a 12 space I’ve been struggling baddd
Maybe use the white or green pumpkins instead?
Which style are you going for?
Man, there's still so much work to do on my island and yet I can clearly feel how it's almost finished. It's such a bittersweet feeling
It’s like a autumn yet norm core island!
I’ve been strugglinggg
Is it close to RS? Do you want Halloween decors?
It’s like 12 spaces from airport and Halloween would be cool too!
Lmc what I can come up with
It's been quite a while since I last tried normcore
Hope I'm not too rusty
It’s okay! It’s just I need some ideas lol
I just realized my brain no longer works without custom designs
anyways here it it
I'm a big fan of placing villager homes by the entrance so that's what I did
thats so cuteee
I personally am adding a feed the ducks sign to my Molly’s yard. It’s as if she’s advocating for people to feed the ducks but in all honesty she just wants people to gift her bread 🤣🫶
yes!!! 😂😂🤍
i was thinking that too
this is too cute oh my goodness
Doing a major decoration of Coron. Here's a part of this where my house will soon stand.
Updated my villager houses and entrance 🤗🩷
Still very much a work in progress, but here's the front of my island so far. It isn't much, but I like it!
The benches matching the airport perfectly is so satisfying to look at
I'm also waiting to get the garden bench DIY, so I can have those all over the place lol
Yeah, I figured they'd be perfect for a waiting area
i don't usually have a lot of motivation to try making bigger things on my island, but i tried pulling together a little café area today since the mood struck me
CUTEE
Yall how should I do this layout
I want a general idea of paths and where to put rivers and buildings and other terraforming
Do you want some help? :3 Also off topic but I'm a massive Doctor who nerd
Feel free to dm me ^^ Is there any sort of specific theme you're going for?
Ooh! What you could do is a long path of market stalls and shops and stuff leading up to resident services? Since the entranceway is kinda long
Ooo okay
It would be like you're entering the fair and the plaza is the main part of it
I want it to encapsulate the faire while also making it look like some kind of village too
So yeah that’s a good idea :3
I know, I’m complex lol but I’ve had this idea for a while
It's really unique I like it a lot!!
Ty!!
Okay so I got a base of what I want… now I need to figure out where the houses and stuff go
Okay, I know I haven't finished my island and I've been procrastinating all week but I just keep thinking about my next island and how much I want it to be an island that looks it's best throughout all 4 seasons
My current island looks HIDEOUS during winter
But tbh I think I have never seen an island that looks good during every season bc most are set on a specific season
I wanted to look for inspo but I keep coming across this issue and tbh I'm so frustrated rn
Real omg
Also, I need some advice. I have all 8 human residents on my current island and each was assigned a role. One of them was supposed to be a police officer and his house was meant to be the island's police station, but I changed my mind.
I'll be keeping both the role and facility for my next island but now Idk what to do with this 8th villager on my current island. Any ideas?
Can someone help me with my island? Idk what to do I want some advice plss 🙁
Send a photo
does anyone have efficent ideas for covering large areas without using furniture to keep weeds from popping up constantly
Have you got kk slider yet?
Go on pinterest to form an idea in your head
i usually use a transparent decal. you can make one yourself in the custom designs app and just make it transparent and it'll help stop weeds popping up and flowers spreading
yup
My new yard featuring a cameo with Ozzie Ozzy Osbourne
Plus I'm wearing an apple themed outfit for Fruity Friday
Before you change it, do you think you could send some screenshots of your police station? I'm trying to make sort of a cottagecore police station for two of my villagers and I'm struggling with ways to make it look like an actual police station and I'd LOVE to see what you have, if you don't mind!
I miss my old board game island
Here's a jungle themed game i made on it
Oh, sorry, that won't be possible. I haven't even started working on it yet. I was planning on using the office from Law & Order SVU as inspiration
I found this super cool one on pinterest tho
Oh, I thought you meant you had already started building it! Thank you, though!
Nah, not yet. I did completely upgrade the house tho. All those bells are now gone
You know what? I'm making that police station and giving it the vibe necessary to match my island. This ain't gonna defeat me
Uh-oh. I fought the demotivation too hard and now I want to make a wedding venue but I got no more space for it
this is gonna eat me alive!
I FOUND THE SPACE!!! MWAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ
Attempting to make a back alley sort of area behind my nooks cranny
hey this is the start of my island, i wondered if anybody could give me some tips feedback whatever, im happy with it but feel like its missing something. i’m open to all feedback/criticism :)
The wedding venue is COMPLETE
And I also remembered why I didn't plan on including one at first, getting the wedding items from Reese and Cyrus is a pain
Ngl it was a tad difficult working on such a weird place but I'm happy with how it came out. Also, why didn't it occur to me sooner that living on an island gave easy access to wedding by the beach?
This dude finally gave me a chance at a cute picture
(favorite villager btw so this is a HUGE win)!
Hey yall I’m working on my island and I have no idea what to do for this section any ideas my theme is red and pink and white
Not sure where to ask this so ! Who would like to visit my island and afterwards give advice on spaces and more ! I’m very stuck atm so
So happy with finding the Spooky Arch in the right color in my Nooks Cranny today to complete my plaza entrance for Halloween! 🧡🖤🧡🖤
Can y'all share some of your designs for the entrance to your island? 🥹🙏🏻 I restarted my island and going for a forest vibe.
My current island is not forest core but my first was kinda cottagecore ig? I never updated the DA so it should still be there and I remember really liking the entrance
If possible, could you send a pic here? I hate that we can't visit our own dreams.
Here's the current state of the entrance to my island and also my map. I still need to invite KK to my island but I'm now starting to move some of the trees and I might flatten my island later on (even though I'm bad at terraforming)
Flattening is almost therapeutic for me. I do advice that you keep your fruit trees tho, somewhere they won't bother you.
Given how close your RS is, I would build around it or completely shut it off and connect it somewhere else (your map is very similar to mine now that I think aboout it)
In my experience, the most difficult part is laying out the area, so the first thing I do is place the paths down to figure out how I want it to flow
Thanks! I'll keep it in mind. 💕
getting ready for spooky season
After six weeks of in game time, I finally bred my first blue rose!! SO pleased, I love the flowers in this game and despite playing since launch, I’ve never tried breeding them myself.
Working on my final island so it seemed appropriate to take flower breeding seriously this time.
I have finally finished terraforming my island! This is 5 years in the making 🤣 let this be hope to you, it takes time! I haven’t played in a year and all of a sudden, each night I decided to just randomly start placing and chipping. All of a sudden ideas came as I was going. Don’t be afraid to try things. Don’t be afraid to completely take down things. It will come. Some villagers are getting swapped out still. I’m going for an enchanted forest type vibes, only my Ables and entrance area are pretty much finished so far! Trees are placed and I spent hours making a rock garden 🪴 🥴
does anyone have a good idea for a island line that
Need some help with island designs, my island name is Evermore and town is the theme but I don’t know what aesthetic to go for (my villagers are random)
Slowly getting somewhere with my entrance! 🍂🌲🍄🟫
If you’re doing town I feel like Evermore suits something gothic, elegant, or grungy! Love the idea of something like Forks from twilight or maybe something edgier
On the flip side if you were inspired by Swift for the name a cute forestcore town with log houses and lots of trees and fire places and cozy stuff would be perfect
If you have the DLC you can decorate the exteriors of your villagers houses to match whatever you’d like so if you wanna keep the villagers random and not strict to a theme but also wanna have their houses fit in then changing the exterior could work well!
Trying to do more with mini buildings using the storefronts and stuff like that. So I made a little barn next to my farm
More entrance progress <3
does anyone have ideas on what i could put here im struggling 😣 its right by my entrance if that helps any
You’re so helpful, tysm! 💕
I put an outdoor cinema!
love!
I'm making a boat rental there
Is my island Gemmy
I need inspiration! So my airport and resident services are perfectly aligned with some space between them, which I love but I need inspiration for my entrance and how to really bring them both together if that makes sense?
Any particular style you are going for or are fond of?
I bet your island tastes like sprinkles
Not really. I want my island to be sea/star themed but I’m lacking all inspiration on where to begin with the layout and terraforming (I always get overwhelmed with decorating in games for some reason)
Sea/star themed... would you prefer a more natural or structural (buildings) approach? A mix of both?
Uhhh, both maybe?
Would you like a monotone pallet (like all blues) or something more colorful (like coral reefs)?
Colourful definitely
lk starting to sound like Akinator
Haha it’s okay dw
Got it. Give me some time and I'll come back with something for ya
Thanks so much!

Okay, here it is! The first is from my own entrance (is not finished but is colorful, kinda on theme with yours and I think it's the same distance from the airport as yours)
and the last one is more on concept with your idea of sea, stars and coral
I hope this can help you
Yours is so pretty
This is a rough idea of mine but I kinda hate it and it definitely needs some work
I'm liking the placement of the bridge and the water tho. I encourage you to keep that part and work around it
Man, the mermaid fence is so cute but I can never make it work
Agreed. Maybe add some bushes around the fountain along with the flowers
Ooh I like that idea, but where would be best? Also tysm for all the help earlier too
Can’t decide what else to do. Idk where to put the shops and such but I think I want them near resident services 🤔
Made a blacksmith/forge area
🍂🧸
hey chat!! im going for a cherry blossom kind bamboo island, i haven fibished the game yet but i will soon, this is my first time lkke actually building and destroying and doing infrastructure and such, any ideas? ^^
have some paths picked out too ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
I love building something only to tear it down 10 seconds later
Pirate execution site I put for Halloween
Also my boardwalk I put at the back of my island
Omg love the path!✨️ May i have the path vode?
Tysm!!❤️
Makin progress with the terraforming, made a moon lake!
Pompom lives on it since she always talks about wanting to go to the moon lol
I’ll change the colour of her door once I’m done with the DLC ✨ 🍂
Starting to work on my beaches and rock areas
Another island update :) I'm super happy with how everything is turning out
You're braver than me I never tackle my beaches
They have been empty for a while. It's also me procrastinating on the blank spaces still on the main part of my island
Woah! That's so cool!
Wanted to show the little set up I made for ruby and merengues homes! I like to think ruby grows the strawberry and merengue uses them in her desserts🍰🍓
hi i need some help with designing my island
im making a shark themed island
mixed with kid core
Feel free to DM me if you wanna discuss it

Can someone give me some item ideas for a neon citycore island? I’m struggling finding items I can use
Stray!!
if anyone can help me that would be awesome. i just started the game and im a beginner and just got terraforming. im looking to make a cottagecore/fairy island. please help me i have no idea what im doing lol
dm me if interested youll have full creative freedom^^
Can anyone desogn my island
me too pls^
a club maybe?
like a disco club
anyone have ideas for a simple entrance?
Ty!
I use a lot of different items for my citycore but the main ones are
Cube light
Retro transportation stop
Small led display
Standing electric sign
Storefront
Plain party lights arch
The drink and snack machines in various different colors
Backlit sign
Floor light
I saw someone use the cube light and stack two on top of each other to make glowing fencing!
Tysmm! I'll keep this in mind!
Ohhh and the neon diner sign of course
Ooo ok!
Hope this helps :)

Made two filler stalls on my soon to be refurbished island
Looks great!!
Amazing
I think we have the a similar start! I’m getting back into ACNH after a long break. The top sections I made them wild and interesting with the grey blob being a Japanese spa kind of thing. It’s not as detailed as some of the really talented folk but I think it looks cute! And the important thing for me is functionality. I want to be able to complete my museum 😂 so I tried to make all the fish ponds and stuff
Hi everyone I could really do with some advice on how to improve and develop my island. I am very happy with the main player residence but I haven’t done much with the villager residency area yet. I would so greatly appreciate it if anyone would take their time visiting and give me some feedback on the whole of the island. I’m not aiming for a strictly themed island by any means- it’s meant to be a balance between functionality/playability and nice design. Thank you!! DA-6919-3638-8370
Not much, but it’s a little area I just built up. Testing out the path I was suggested.
so cute i love! me and you are wanting similar island vibes. dm me if u have tips! so cutie 🙂
I love this & wanna try something similar on my Witchcore island.
I would love some feedback on the begining of my island redesign! I am making it into a castle and have done most of the entrance bit of the island! 🙂
if anyone wants to visit my island to help give me ideas lmk. its cottagecore. dm for dodo
if anyone can help making resident areas on cliffs dm me
what do you guys do with your beaches in autumn/winter? I am struggling to deco it ;-;
Anyone know like pastel build ideas that are lined up with the RS and the airport
i just do like year round public beach type designs
Mine is perfectly lined up but idk how to build or what to do
I've seen people think of their beaches as giant lakes and decorating them as such, e.g: using decayed trees and fallen leaves for auntumnal vibes and dirt paths to "extend the land"
oooo interesting
Sneezes
I’ll probably go back and customize some items/add things on the ground. But for now its this
Thoughts?
i like it
wip plaza area, it was fun working around the off center plaza to airport enterance
Also attempting a perspective build? I know my the cliff should go up a bit higher but I like a challenge
Rundown/Abandon Overgrown….shop? Idk
I’m using this same path on my island. Looks great so far
Trick or treat? My island is all set for Halloween night!”
I hope you like it :).✨🎃
A medieval tavern build. Still trying to add more details to it
sunken walkway 🌱
Omg that is soooo lovely! I think I want to do something like that on my island too now
Hi guys, I'm new here, I've taken some photos of my island, I've basically finished decorating it now, of course I'm still making some corrections and minor changes, so here are some of the areas, any advice counts, any idea of what could be done differently🤔, thanks 🙏🏻
throwback to my first island from 3 years ago that’s no longer around
So beautiful 😍
They’re on a date your honor
I second this. They're on a date your honor
I have a ✨️ healthy ✨️ obsession with the umbrellas in this game
Carrying the leaf umbrella brings me so much joy
The frog one is my favourite to carry, but I just love the daily umbrella I get in the shop!
they are very fun!
I like the ladybug one a lot! And the panda. 🥰
This is cute! Good job!
thank u 🫶🏻
super cute!!
thank u 🩷 i haven't played for a long time, i recently came back. i still have a lot of things to do in this area. i'm so excited to decorating everything for Halloween.
I’m excited for all the mushrooms in november!!
And Nook & Isabelle will start wearing sweaters
aww that’s so lovely!
I have to say that I am completely in love with your island
thank u sooo much! 🩷
Redid the bakery/pizzeria and carnival + WIP on the fruit orchard/market (I lack cherries and peaches)
Plus two new bridges! (O'Hare and Ozzie Osbourne got obscured in view by Agnes and Cyd on 1st pic while Ozzie is missing on the 2nd pic because he got sick)
I have no NSO at the moment
Cool designs!!
just unlocked terraforming, got this as my entrance so far, not really sure on what else to do, any help/ideas would be appreciated ☺️
it’s cute! maybe a bench or seat of some kind would be nice if you’re waiting to greet someone?
ooo okay, ill see where i can add it in
I want a design for a park
i have some inspo pics if that would help? ill add them below anyways
Tyy
I couldn't decide which area to build on; it's near the mesuem
I need some opinions.. i can’t decide between having a very cosy asian themed island or a very cute pink themed island 💔
I would choose cute pink island
But ur choice
Resident services done! 🩶🍂
I wish I’d done a sourthern hemisphere because the Christmas lights are NOT the right vibe </3
Pink Asian island is what I’d try.
I need anyone who can give me inspiration for that area which could serve as the entrance to the museum island that I recently terraformed
This is actually so adorable omggg
Maybe making an research place?
Idk, with some fossils or something like that
I have cherries if you need them!
anyone got an idea for an area meant to be able to build snow buddies on? I dont want just a barren space
There’s little snow men you could put around the perimeter. Maybe some ski lines in the snow. Or footprints custom designs.
I love when people make ice skating rinks! There are codes to put underneath shoes that look like skate blades and I’ve seen people use path codes that look like ice instead of snow
You could make a cute hot cocoa spot there too, and a cute sectioned spot for snow boys
Man i see some of the stuff here and they are all so cool but i cant even make nice roads with the design tool...
starting to decorate the entrance of my island
is anyone wants to help me build my cottage core island dm me. ill pay you 250 nmt
That looks so good
also does anyone know where i can hire an island designer? please dm me if you know
thank you so much!!
any ideas on what to put in this blank piece of land? my islands theme is cottage core
Do you have an orchard yet?
no i dont
Maybe a little park sitting area?
I got frustrated over the old unfinished buildings. I decided to clean up and turn over a Parking Lot
Like I dunno what to fill an empty open space next to that Motel
Hello! I recently flattened my island due to not being happy with the way it looked. I decided to change the theme to angelic fairycore, and I chose the colors pink, white, green, gold, and blue for it. I “finished” the entrance, but something still feels off about it. I need some people to give me ideas and suggest furniture, fencing, greenery, and maybe even some custom designs I could put into the entrance of my island! I’m not planning to replace the current custom designs, but if I really like your suggestion, I might change it. Be nit-picky and mention specific things that stood out to you. I don’t want you to just say “oh, it looks nice”. Please DM your player name and island name, and I will send you the Dodo Code! Send me your suggestions via DM, this will make it much easier for both of us!
Bee farm? put beehives and different flowers that match each other. Little stall that sells the honey and some barrels?
made this small garden thingy
that plot there is going to be my house, u don't know what to put in the front tho. it feels a Lil empty
Maybe some seating? And some small items. It’s cute!!
Made a little sweets cafe located at the back of Resident Services and sandwiched between the relocated Able Sisters and Nook's Cranny. It's not completely finished.
I'm trying to hide agent s and big top's houses for a secret base inside a mountain. Anyone tried this before? I'm thinking a sunken set of houses surrounded by triple hills, inaccessible except for warp pipes
Is that possible? Or are there better secret base ideas where I could put their houses that might take up less space?
And will my villagers get stuck in there?
The idea is sounding cumbersome all the sudden, maybe I should be thinking more 'hall of justice' than 'batcave'
My goal is to collect all of them and make a superhero base
They would be able to spawn out of the area.
does anyone have any ideas of fun things you can set up with a stage flame machine? i’m trying to think of something cool to use it with
How are y'all getting all the halloween decor? Im still fairly new to the game.
I have put it between two villagers’ houses, sometimes they randomly turn it on and it’s hilarious to me seeing them staring at it
i just finished a residental area for maple and hornsby's houses plus a small outdoor library!
I made this little path to my home! I'd love if anybody has any tips of how i can improve it!
Thank you it's my first time doing something like tis
A tree on either side, offset from each other would be cute, what’s the overall vibe of your island?
maybe some flowers or possibly a wooden stool with an item on top that matches your islands vibe
maybe some lighting? like some streetlamps or garden lanterns
I dont really know what its vibe is yet
I just make and ill see along the way
Ideas appreciated ! So I get kinda overwhelmed with the thought of having to work on my island , I’m not that creative and sometimes find it draining trying to figure out what to do ! I’ve made a tired residents area for 6 of my villagers , I’m really happy with it, but I’d like some help / ideas on what to do with the other 4 houses 🙂 my island is a very slow work in progress 🙂
Wanting to put an orchard here in front of my Nook’s Cranny but having such a hard time starting it 😩 I am more than willing to have you fly over if you’d like to see the space more!
@idle cairn some of your villagers will be building something and you have to talk to them, they’ll offer up the DIY to you, or if you have NSO travel to a treasure island
diy from my villagers or nooks cranny if u have the updated building
How do you get to treasure island? I do have online. Thanks!!
Thank you!! Hopefully I can get some decorations before Halloween 😁
Thinking of starting a new island and making it more thematical based on the hobbies of the villagers I like. I'd like to gets some design ideas for each area (assuming the resident services will be at the very front of the island):
Bottom left third, Music: something like a retro city vibe with a cool night club, and a gym for one of the villagers. Includes Able Sisters Clothing Shop, and Nook's Cranny:
Marshal
Cherry
Apollo
Leonardo
Bottom right third, Education: a place that feels fancy and educational, has the museum, a musical venue, an art exhibit, and a few small places that look like you can stop at and read an information plaque, or sit down and read a book, possibly a small school setup:
Lily
Shino
Quinn
Upper top third (basically the rest of the island), Nature: a rustic area for exploration and farming (gathering fruits and such along the way), incudes the campsite and a secret path to the secret beach and Redd's Trawler
Ankha
Raymond
Beau
Center, Plaza: exactly that. A path leading up from resident services to a central park style area with my home at the end. Off to the side are a few amusement park rides (furniture) and the plaza decor would be swapped out for holidays and events
Any ideas, be it basic layout (feel free to use the island designer website), or recommended custom tile designs, would be greatly appreciated ^^
Thinking if I should put an incline here or a ladder instead 🤔
A ladder feels more suitable unless you wanna make the secret beach like a sus place
i agree that a ladder would look good here!!
I'm gonna go with ladder and decorate the area for halloween 😄
There’s a lot of streamers on twitch that offer them and put up dodo codes for ppl to join! I try to find a stream that has less viewers so ppl aren’t constantly flying in
Anyone?
Anyone got ideas for this area? I don’t want it to be too full since I was snowboys to be able to be rolled there in the future. Just a little something so it doesnt feel empty but still has empty space.
Its basically a long thin strip of land so I’m pretty limited
Some seating. Maybe a gazebo or pergola to one side. Or a picnic
You wanted a snowboy area? I think some benches would be good or add a filler stall to your liking
yea I kinda want it to be an area that allows seasonal things to still spawn, mushrooms, snowboys etc because I use the clear design on alot of my island to keep the flowers in place yk
but that makes it so no mushroom spawn and cant roll snowboys either..
thanks ill def try that
I think u should dig up that glowing money thing
💵💵💵
yes ma’am
Honestly I would do a couple of log benches up against the fence and leave the rest clear for stuff to spawn, maybe a flower or two. I have an are like that on my island. But I can’t get a good pic because there’s palm trees in the way.
i think ill do that, and adjust it to what season it is with a sleigh or something
You could do the regular log benches instead of the wild ones so you could put some small items on one side, like a pair of snow boots or some coffee
And then swap those items with the seasons too
Oehh yes I love that good idea
What my island currently looks like
Made myself an outdoor workshop 🤭 It’s so chic I love it lol. Playing ACNH for so long, I lost all patience to keep running in and out of my house for materials or to craft—I just finished the storyline too so I have a long road of crafting and customizating ahead of me 🤣
blanche's little garden!
Remade and relocated a resting spot
Any thoughts on this perspective build? Mainly does it work or not😅 I can't make up my mind
Having a hard time finding a spot to place my second incline, I want it to go from the middle green to the light green (not going for aesthetics rn)
Can you stick it by the river on the bottom side of it?
Good idea (i think) but uh which column? (Saying column because my rows are obscured because the lack of cropping)
Hang on. I’ll circle where I’m thinking.
I forgot you could do that
Thanks!
You could do it on the other side too if that’s straighter but it looks even more round
Making a luxury beach island. This area is to the right of the entrance. Feedback and suggestions appreciated!
Really happy with this lil hangout spot!!!
building for fun to no theme
Trying to make a small city section on my island. What would go well next to or near a night club?
Fast food truck or some kinda night open convinience store🍕
Ooohh, that does sound really good ^^
I can probably place the food truck near the entrance to my gym beach X3
Kinda wanna make a night club myself now
I'd love to see what you come up with, might give me some ideas ^^
Ignore the unfinished surroundings but this is it! Might add a food truck later
Ft. the ticket booth to K.K. concerts
I love it! ^^ ❤️
Thank you! And thanks for the inspo, I was struggeling adding city builds other than grocery store
Same. I'm trying to go for a multi-tier themed island based on my villagers hobbies
This isn’t mine but does anybody know what the green plant on top of the box behind the fake fencing is? I’ve been trying to find something like that but can’t 😕
Looks like plant partitions
😱😱 omg! Thank you so much!!
this is my island design so far.
working on a park area. still needs some work though
Starting an orchard but wondering why only certain trees are growing 🥲
Proximity! If a fruit tree is next to a hardwood or pine sapling the trees will be stunted
It’s how people get different size trees
Thank you so much! I’ll let them all get big first and replace my other trees after!
Yess! Best way to do this too , Is plant some fruit trees on another part of ur island let them grow and then move them to where you want them u don’t have to wait for the trees to grow in for ur orchard either
Halloooo what can I do to make this less neutral and plain
Some small items might help. Stack of books, a bunny garden decoration, maybe some lighting? It’s cute I like it!
Thank you!!!
You’re welcome!
Bookstore build today.
does anyone have any tips for an elegantcore island? i’m struggling with an airport entrance i like
I did kind of an elegant core entrance, just dark. Used lots of castle walls, store fronts, decorative pillars, topiaries.
thanks!
All cat island minus Spork, Audie and Stitches
i want stitches, i want the other two to leave lol
What should I do with this void of nothingness?
Cute little plaza, rock garden, teddy bear picnic
Love it! Also do you have the path code? :3
The brick or the dirt? 🖤
The dirt 👀
Tysm!
Ah yes, "The Path"
Would anyone have any ideas of what i could fill this small grass space with? My island is city core if that helps! If not i can provide more pics through dm or you can come on over and see! Thank you in advance🫶🏼
Maybe a bike parking space with a little directory area since that location is near the airport
I'm desperately looking for someone to help me plan out the rest of my island, I only have about 2 spots in mind and the rest is a total mystery to me and I'm on the brink of restarting again and I really don't want to. DM me if you want me to provide a reference map design and if you can help me figure out the rest of the map.
Have u tried it he gave em a map and i follownit (loosely( stoll unhapt tho
I just decided to flatten, I'm trying my best.
Im struggling on my island theme, I'm trying to get my 4th star, and Isabelle is saying it's... Random, or something, does anyone have any recommendations for my theme?
I'm not the best at creating a river but I will like it
Try not to have it cluttered…. Combine with flowers 💐, trees 🌳, outdoor decorations to spruce your island 🏝️
Trash 🗑️ and such can ruin your chances of getting it to a 5-⭐️
Worked on my house’s “backyard” last night.
Did you change your plans about your theme?
A little bit.
Let me know if I can help.
Hmm so, i went back to Isabelle, turns out she just wants me to decorate
I think I won't be able to touch my switch until Jan 15 2026
Where are yalls museums? I cannot figure out where to put mine
I always put mine in a back corner because they don’t fit my themes very well lol
I always end up putting it towards the back of my island, usually on the 2nd layer and having an incline or 2 leading to it
Logged on for the first time in a year. Forgot how cute my villagers are 🐻
It might be a little late now where I am but if you want to help, I'm willing to take the offer.
hi! just wondering, do you guys usually plan out what you're gonna build on your island or do you guys just improvise on the spot?
I only demoed it, so improv was first and foremost for me
flyover for my new island ✈️
ooh alright :0
My boy Nate💚
anyone have any ideas on what i could put on the top right area?
Bike or scooter rental area, little record shop, plant shop
oo, ty for the suggestions!
You’re welcome!
A vending machine or statue surrounded by some flowers would be aesthetically pleasing
i already have a vending machine just out of view on the bottom left, but the statue idea seems interesting :0
I threw it on the beach to rot. It doesn't fit my island and makes me very upset as dumb as that sounds
I usually dream or go to island hang outs for ideas and then plan bc improvising on thr spot is not doing me any justice and my island looks like crap
I improvised
i see :0
some parts of my island :0 im hoping i can work on more of my island
i think the farm part was made before 2.0, so i should probably turn it into a proper farm with crops and everything
ive been thinking about turning the lake at the center into the source of my island's waters but its meant to be shaped like australia and i fear that making it flow into the rivers would ruin the shape :[
How can I help? Maybe I could give you a list of some of my favorite Dream Addresses if you're needing inspiration.
DMs?
Sure!
Give the illusion that it connects to the rivers by making the rivers run close to it, but not connect. You could try to make a water wheel, or some sort of factory to make it seem like the water gets processed by the lake before coming out into the river
Also I think the Australia lake looks really good!
ooh youre so right, i'll see what i can do :0
ty!!
Can someone help me how to decorate that 2 openings to the sea please
Surf shop maybe on one side? Then maybe a seaside cafe on the other with seating?
Damnnnn
Ty, and for the layout? I mean how Is that zone called
So I can search the terraforming
People call those areas the river mouths.
Thanksss
Happy Halloween everyone🎃
Welcome to my graveyard
What objects do I need someone who know?
OMGGG
Upon hearing the animal crossing is getting a new update I decided to dig up my current island and rebuild it.
This is my progress after a days work
The theme is farming community DM me any ideas you might have I would love to hear them
It won’t let me DM you. 🙂
Thats werid give me a second
Happy Halloween! 🎃
Im stuck… I have so many things to do and idk with what to start ! Whats the best way to start decorating (plaza, villager yards, entrance etc)
Imo the entrance. I like to make my entrance a blend of the overall vibe of the entire island like "Hey, visitors, THIS is what you will find here"
It's mostly foliage. Oak tress, pine trees, white and green mums, white cosmos, tea shrubs, weeds, vines.
Now for items, I can see mush stumps, mush stools, wheat fields, shrub and grass standees and that termite items idk what it's called.
Hey everyone! I just got the switch 2 and am planning to make a whole new island. My current island has no theme or set layout, i've just been keeping it random and free but I really want to make a themed island for the second one. Anyone have suggestions of themes or layouts for maps they wouldn't mind sharing? I'm open to anything i just need a little inspiration past pinterest lol. I may consider restarting this island in the future as well so i'm open to all kinds
I took my island section by second instead of as a whole. I think the theme matched my villagers for each area. Look up some YouTube videos where people showcase islands and get some inspiration from there. What makes you say " oh that's cool" and then do your own spin on it
Anyone got ideas for around my resident service? Like what to build
whats the name of the item you used for the roof of the tiki bar? :0
The tiki bar looks like that. I didn't add an item to the roof
ooh alright, thanks!
does anyone know the name of this item? :0
Flower display case
thanks!
tysm
can someone say ideas or post some pic for what i can do on the next floor?
i mean
in that level
i cant find ideas
More picnic stuff, a blanket, picnic basket, cushions, log stool or bench, bunny garden decoration, birdhouse maybe
wow
a house too?
I assumed the house was there like in the pic, but yeah I’d do a house or two if you can fit and still have room to decorate.
If you reverse google search that pic you may find the original post for it and more pics.
ty
Hi! Can I ask for suggestions about my island? I have a space next to my coffee shop and railroad, and I'm not sure what type of business/space I should put there!
A bookstore or a library?
That's a great idea! I’ll probably do that
how can I get into a fruit island
Do you need any fruits? My island has all and you can come visit
Wrong place mb

lowkey sick of building but here's my fav areas on my island so far
guys i have a blue imperial shelf, any ideas for how i could decorate with it??
I used my brown one in my bedroom in my home - a bit simple, but elegant too.
Ooh nice, I'll try that! thank you
i'll send a photo later probably
Omg we have the same vibe!
Post office!
Omg ty
HAHAH OMG YEAH i love rural themes sm
Hi, my island is an absolute mess my villagers are limberg (trying to remove), ellie, sherb, hazel (might remove), Erik, kyle (might remove), cheri, billy, whitney and lolly. I want to choose a theme to try and make my island less chaotic, my design sense isnt great either. any ideas on themes?
personally i find farmcore, normcore and mediterranean to be the simplest/easiest themes to do:) you could give any of those a try
or do a multi theme island and build whatever you feel like so long as you have a structure in mind
i recommend this website for planning your island layout, i think it helps with building a large scale idea of how you want to organise your island before fully comitting to a certain theme/plan
Thanks
Any suggestions on how to make this look more natural? I had a pond on the smaller hill but I want to have one on the bigger one instead
Moved it over a bit
a really cool one could be inspired in a popular city or in ur hometown
does anyone have speedbuild youtube vids they recommend on yt?

Hey Friends! 🧸 I'm showing you my method for waterscaping in ACNH and giving some tips that I use every time I waterscape. 🌼 I hope this helps anyone who may be struggling with waterscaping. 📚🪴 If you hav...
whats the name of this things
does anyone have any tips for making the front of builds/buildings look good? I'm trying to make builds you can go into, like a library or a cafe or a police station, but I'm having trouble with some of the walls and closing off the area making the build look too...blocky, I guess? But if I don't close it off somehow, it doesn't look finished to me. Does anyone have any tips or videos they could recommend?
Barrel, firewood, wedding sign, log bench, rovers suitcase, log stool, book, green leaf pile, scattered papers, streetlamp !
Leag pile streetlamp log bench barrel firewood scattered papers cant recall for the rest
tyy
thanksss
how do i get those lmao
Oh yep Chloe got it but yeah some will need to be crafted and some are miles options others are harder to get
The wedding sign is exclusive to the month of June with Reese and cyrus event on harvs island, and the suitcase is from the May day tour
A lot of the rest of them are DIYs, log bench, log stool, barrel, firewood are DIYs and I think some of them are actually default ones that you should get early on in the game?
Scattered papers is a DIY but I think it uses the "document stack" furniture item
Does anyone have a lily of the valley flour on their island
I was tryna make a accurate Minecraft farm (is not complete yet)
and what about the leafs pile?
also the log bench is the half 😭
Hiii I’m having some trouble figuring out how to finish off a design around my museum, but can’t quite figure out what to fill the space with. I tried with a castle wall but didn’t like how it looked.
i knoww
maybe a river at the sides
bench
more than 1
My island theme is like.. elegant goth/vampy aesthetic
Street lights, iron and stone fence, iron garden tables/chairs for seating in black maybe
I’ve been meaning to put some benches and keep forgetting to lol, that’ll help. Street lights would be cute too
I think I need to revamp my entire island layout but I'm feeling so uninspired
Valid
I am flattening my island and my plan for the new layout looks kind of like yours right now 🤓
Hiya, any tips for starting island design? Ive mapped out the areas that I want but the islands i see online seen so much more intricate and cooler. Im doing my first island!
I'm proud of how my entrance is turning out. If you look closely in the picture... you might see an unexpected visitor.
so cute i want that npc so bad but i never see him
