I'm confused what you mean by "with an edge". Do you mean a brick pattern that has one transparent square so you can layer it over the paths in-game so there is a grass edge? Do you mean a brick pattern to go on the edges of other paths? Please clarify or provide an example so we can help :)

No, unless you make a copy of it yourself, you cannot have other peoples designs. (without nintendo online)

In the Able sister's shop, to the left of the changing room, there's a screen with the custom designs logo. If you press "A" while directly infront of it, you can access the portal/kiosk. Then, you can put in a creator code, custom design code, and look for specific designs (ex. flowers, path, etc.) using the criteria search tool. Hope this helps!

Once you have your path pattern, open the Island Designer app, press Plus, and select the custom pathing tool on the bottom right. It will let you choose from your patterns and you can quickly use the trowel to place them on the ground. Unlike the game's built-in paths, these function a little differently.

you can use New Leaf QR codes in Animal Crossing New Horizons 🙂 You just need the Nintendo Switch app on your real life phone. Once you have the app, click on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Designs, then either click on "Scan a QR code using your camera" or "Scan from a saved image". Once it scans successfully, it will give you instructions on how to download it in game.

@dusk magnet you can pobably make it yourself pretty easily? the dark dirt path is just one uniform brown color (or maybe like, two very close shades), so you can make a pattern in brown, put it next to dirt, and then fiddle with it until the color matches.
I'd try an orange-ish red, middle to high saturation, fairly light for starters and then go from there

I generally see very few designs that work with the original dirt paths, ppl seem to prefer brick and stone, or make their own dirt paths from scratch :s

i been searching for a light wood or brick custom design, but searching for example brick in ables is a bit... well a huge variety of quality's. Also im only limited to searches that contain the western alphabet. I was hoping someone could suggest some good creator codes for me 😳

Yeah I have some custom ones, but the colors always irk me (and that you can wipe them away) and so I wondered if something worked with the original paths as the “middle piece”. Too bad there isn’t like a photoshop color picker tool

But it’s the fact that the texture is so minimal and such small color changes that it won’t really work, since if the change in color is too small it doesn’t know how to smooth it out and it becomes like regular pixel art

in general, same color, one-off on saturation or luminosity is a good bet

you can go one up in saturation and one down in lum to get sth very close (or vice versa)

it only does that when the pattern is transparent, and this shows up "inside" the path though. So you could do borders for dirt paths if they are full patterns w/o transparency
