A custom what? If you mean designs in general, using your nso membership you can access the kiosk in the back of Able’s to view online codes. Once you’ve used the kiosk once, an app becomes available for purchase at the Nook Stop

You'll need a Nintendo Online Subscription to get other user's designs. Once in-game, you'll need to get the able sisters to set up their shop. In the right corner of the back wall in their shop, there is a kiosk/panel that will let you search for designs via the creators MA or MO code or you can search for designs by looking up keywords.

I’ve got this dirt pattern and the main one is a different color now and I don’t know what happened, did I do something wrong?

It’s not happening for my fishing area so I don’t think the creator changed it

You didn't do anything wrong! Whenever a pattern does not have atleast 1 pixel in the design that is transparent then the design will retain it's color when placed on in-game path. The other pieces have atleast 1 transparent pixel, so when placed on in-game paths they'll change color a bit and they stay within the border of the in-game path. You'd have to remove the dirt and place it just on grass, like you have in the 2nd picture.

Ah, okay! It’s a dark forest and I don’t think grass will look well with it, I’m glad that the creator made a version of the main one that is technically supposed to only be on the sides, but I used it as the main thing

• some items that help would definitely be the halloween set of furniture, with all the pumpkins, also having broken or abandoned looking designs can help too!

definitely a graveyard would be super cool but if you cant get the headstones from others then theyre a lot of rocks to make, also having your island set at nighttime or a foggy morning would help make it look much more spookier! i hope these examples fit what youre going for, if not just let me know ill try to find some more! (sorry if my grammar is awful but if youd like me to explain anything else id be happy to help!)

@fading plank If you have made a custom design you can choose to display it as wallpaper, as flooring, as a canvas on the wall or standing on an easel.

Some (a lot) of furniture and items are customizeable and you can use designs for that as well. Like pillows or panels or paintings or beds and sooooo many others.

It is normal for custom designs to be able to be like.. kicked off? I.E if you press Y your character scuffs the ground like filling a hole and then the design is gone?

Yeah that can definitely happen and there’s not a way to prevent that. If you or a guest do it accidentally then you just need to place the design down again
