It sounds like you have anxiety, which can indeed be crippling and prevent you from doing things, but I'm not a doctor so you should bring it up with your doctor
I had severe social anxiety but I see a psychiatrist and therapist now and it's helped a lot. I would definitely get professional help for it if you can
If you can't, there's also a ton of self-help resources online, just Google tips on overcoming social anxiety. There's a lot of people who deal with it. If you go to the subreddit r/socialanxiety you will find stories from tons of people having the same difficulties, so you're not alone, and you can definitely overcome it
To tackle social anxiety you have to train yourself to stop caring what people think. So what if they get annoyed? Then they probably wouldn't have been a good friend anyway. So what if it's awkward? I promise no one else will care or remember it. You have to just say so what, who cares, and just do what you want to do.
