two things to consider:
1- consider your resume as today most companies use AI to filter through resumes. The AI looks for VERY specific words that were put on their ad. For example, if they say they're looking for someone "assertive", you then have to go to your resume and change it a bit to fit the word assertive in there so the AI picks it up
2- a lot of companies putting out job ads, but not because they actually have a position open, they just want do that to keep the current employees in check and to keep them from complaining they're short staffed "but I've been looking, I put out an ad and everything; we're just not getting anyone right for the position"

Yes, to keep the image up to the employees that they're still searching. My mom was a manager at Chipotle about a year ago and left because of a bunch of reasons, but one of them was because she was intruscted to interview as many potential employees as possible and not hire any unless they were willing to work for less money than was offered. Example: the ad says they're hiring starting $18 an hour, but they'll offer you $16 and tell you it's because you're not the best candidate and don't have as much experience. She manages a Sprouts(gorcery store) now that does not practice that. Not all companies are doing this, there are still some good ones that respect their employees and pay well
