If you don't like the four maps you have to choose from, you can close the game and reopen it to get another set of four.

The beginning of the game is the most memorable experience; after you finish it, you are on your own to decorate your island. 🥲

play the game how YOU wanna play it! time travel all the time, sticking to how the game intended (no TT), and so on. it's your save, you can do whatever you want or don't want :)

and of course, have fun!! if you start to feel bored or close to burnout, it's okay to take a break. even if it means taking months away!

I used to take consistent 3 month breaks because I was so exhausted of doing the same stuff, and now I play at least 3x a week when I can :)

I've noticed something weird with my son's OLED switch. It sometimes refuses to turn on(even though it's charged) and the only thing that will turn it back on is rebooting the device(holding the powerbutton for 15secs). My other normal switches don't do that. Is anyone else's OLED like this? I searched it up online and there are a few forums of people complaining about the same issue. It's making me wonder if it's just an OLED thing or if I need to be worried about my son's device

Really random question but I just got a switch 2 and I had backed my island up some years ago in game with NSO before I sold my switch 1. The subscription lapsed shortly after selling it and I was wondering if its possible that the island can be restored through contacting nintendo. Some people say it has a 180 day limit but thats for NSO normal backups and in the switch app I can still see my island and residents

Only way to speed up the process is time traveling, one house each day is the only way

The only real negative effect in game is turnips will spoil if you do, anything you do will save when you go back to real time. So if you move a house and go back the house will stay where you put it

switch lite however does have a much smaller screen and less "bells and whistles"; so an upgrade from that might be nice

Totally agree with this. I got my switch lite as a gift back in 2020. And while its great, definitely upgraded in 2024 with an OLED. Really wanted a larger screen and to be able to play it on the tv. Just things to consider @wind karma

OLED is cheffs kiss, but I personally would just get a switch 2 instead of getting a switch at this point since they're not going to be making anymore games for thw switch 1 and will be focusing on switch 2

oh boy lol You were suppose to prepare for winter XD When I played and wasn't as prepared for winter; I did a lot of caving and sold the expensive goods like artifacts. I also ended up fishing a lot

I tried playing Dinkum, it's very much like Animal Crossing but with humans, or I guess I should say Human Crossing
But it shows how much more polished Animal Crossing is ngl.

Same, though I haven't had any of mine fixed(I have 3 and a lite). I also don't intend on buying the switch 2 for various reasons, but the main one being the games are too expensive for my liking. I'm sure I'll still be happy with my switch 1 at least for another 5 years

Dinkum is a good game, but not enough content in it for me. I still put 40+ hrs into Dinkum. Solid 7/10

Every time I'm about to do something in Dinkum I can't help but think "man Animal Crossing did this better"
The only reason I play it, is because my friends don't want a switch, and don't want to buy Animal Crossing
The only thing Dinkum does better is like progression and crafting and such, but it makes for a dull game to me. It makes it feel like work somehow

But yea it's a solid 7/10 to me too
