If digital games can be transferred from switch 1 to switch 2 then don’t worry, it’ll be fine - when I swapped my main console, I had to download the island transfer tool and it yoinked over my AC save data before I reset the first one

basically it is entirely doable to swap islands between consoles rn, and as long as compatibility with digital downloads is maintained, it’ll remain doable on the new device

honestly it’s not that similar in my opinion aside from the cute & sometimes decorative parts

it’s a story based game which can get a little grindy to evolve through the gameplay, items work with an irl clock as in like stuff takes x amount of hours to respawn

i was fairly far in the game - atleast when i still played it it obviously got a lot of updates by now but it was quite nice

i quit it because the apple arcade subscription starts adding up when u pay for it for a while and honestly no other games really peaked my interest for the price to be worth it but i feel as if €40 is quite expensive though

you have to make them yourself but those are technically available in NH . that was a separate aspect of the new leaf game to begin with also

island minigames werent actually the main multiplayer focus, they were just the most fun . NH expanded on multiplayer in every other way, it just also put it behind a paywall unfortunately

• easier to send messages via the NSO app
• the servers actually work much better; i know the NAT types are annoying but they make the system much more understandable . NL would just disconnect you with no real explanation
• MUCH MUCH SAFER; especially near the end of new leaf's lifespan, playing online had several exploits where people could do things like brick your console if you didnt give them what they asked for, on your town or on the island
• a lot more control over who can do what on your island and an easier system to allow multiple people over at once
• having multiple people over at once doesnt cause insane lag

along with various quality of life changes to the process, and a much bigger community due to how big new horizons got

not having the island minigames is unfortunate, but i dont think they ever viewed that as the core of AC multiplayer . and their next experiement with multiplayer minigames was horrendously bad, so i dont think we'll have it back soon

@serene shadow I'm excited. I know it's gonna be unpowered in comparison to PC handhelds and home consoles but it's the gimmick and Nintendo IPs that I really look forward too for this device. I really wanna see what they cooked for the OS and UI. Not to mention updated online services. Voice chat,text and party making just that alone would be wow. Just image how much more easier it's gonna be to play with friends online if this happens.
