The easiest way to add friends imo is to first have them has visit your island (or you visit theirs). After that, you can just go to your Switch profile > Add friends > Search for Users You Played With

(Alternatively, you can add them on your Switch before visiting with each other by searching their switch friend code. But just remember you still need to visit with them in-game before you'll be able to do things like send mail/gifts to each other)

To visit other players' islands, you will need a Nintendo Online membership. If you have that, then you can go to your airport > select "I want to fly" > Online. Then it will ask you how you want to search - you can choose dodo code or search for friends

fun fact - i gave my newest villager a souvenir chocolate and they didn't ask to go to the island either (and i definitely had never given them one before). i believe this was happening because my airport gate was closed, but i had to "close communications" in the airport as well, and then my villagers started accepting the chocolates and asking me to take them to the island

A quick way to fill holes is dig up everything you want to move, move it, then hit the minus to save and close, shut the game down completely by going to the home screen and hitting X, and then restarting the game. It'll fill everything like magic and save a lot of time running around trying to fill them!

If Blathers just arrived, that would usually mean you're early game, something like 2 (or at least less than 5) animal villagers, right?

Yes, other players can pay for bridges & inclines
For custom paths, you can either apply designs on the ground from your Designs app, or you can redeem then use the custom path option once you have the Island Designer (unlocked after K.K.'s first concert)

I don't understand how to catch shooting stars. It says to press A to wish on a shooting star but nothing happens when I do that. How do I catch a shooting star?

Make sure you toggle the joystick up until you can see the sky clearly and press A

Tilt the right stick up to look at the sky, without holding anything in hands press A to wish on the star ; it'll wash on your shores the next day

I’m having trouble getting a villager to move out. I want Cleo gone but she just won’t go. I’ve time traveled a month and then skipped day by day multiple times and it’s like every other villager got a thought bubble but her! Her birthday is not soon and she is not my most recent villager. Am I just unlucky?

That's the likely cause, yes... Unless she happens to be the last that you denied from leaving

Yep, you'll just have to make another 30-days jump to max out the odds of someone asking to leave then keep checking day after day, hoping for the best

Another thing you can do to narrow the possible villagers asking to leave is to ask Tom Nook to move the house of a villager you want to keep, then keep their move kit in your inventory: that villager, like the latest moved-in and lasted denied one, won't be able to ask

(You'll be able to cancel the move by talking to Tom Nook later)

Hello! Just wanted to ask if Amiibo cards are a possible way of trading/selling villagers! I bought my first pack and don't really want the ones I got so I plan to give em away for the right price (if it's possible to do that).

They have to move in first then you need to kick them out, but yes, you can trade them

Yeah so.. it's a bit of a situation. You can use an Amiibo to push a villager out since you get to pick who they replace. BUT to sell THAT villager, you'd need a second amiibo card to push the first one out (at least in a timely manner)
