AFAIK it's purely RNG, just make sure fleas are in season (april to november on northern hemi, october to may on southern). So just make sure to check on your villagers once in a while. And villagers tend to be outside the most around 1pm, in case it helps

That was probably a land bridge then, which is just terrain terraformed in a straight line higher than the base level, and disguised as a bridge thanks to custom designs on the ground and furniture to hide the cliffside under it

once Kappn is unlocked you have a chance to visit islands that are on different seasons/times than your own, but that's pretty rare so not reliable. If you have online membership you can visit other players who are in different seasons. otherwise the only way to catch everything quickly would be to time travel since fish and bugs can't be traded.

So, I rly want to play the game agian, but I don’t want to lose my first island. Can I turn on the island backup, make a new island, then when I’m done with that one use the island backup and get my old island back?

I don't think so. I imagine that each user is assigned one back up slot on Nintendo's cloud saves. So once you start your new island, the old island on the cloud will be overwritten and unable to be recovered after that

breeding requires 2 adjacent flowers of the same species - I'm not an expert at all on garden stuff at all but from my understanding, they pick breeding over cloning. So if Plant A successfully rolls to breed, it will pick an adjacent flower of the same species to breed with randomly.
So doing isolated pairs or diamonds (https://yuexr.github.io/acnh/garden_layouts.html#isolated_pairs) will always guarantee that the pair(s) will breed and not clone, but an x/checkerboard pattern has a high chance of flowers cloning

you have to wait for the campsite to be built. the next day after that, a villager will be in the campsite and you will have to sell them a plot of land and invite them to live there to be able to progress and get more villagers. once that’s all done, you’ll be able to get more house plots from tom nook and visit nmt islands to find more villagers.

also just to be extra clear, you need an empty, unsold plot of land to find villagers on nmt islands - the campsite is separate from that

You can gift the uncrafted crops though (if you're aiming for a photo, just wrap 3 of said crop and gift that)

Why 3 of the crop?

In order to have the chance to get a photo (when at the right friendship level), the gift needs to have a total sell value of 750 bells or more. 1 crop will sell for 350 bells, so 3 puts you over the 750 bell threshold

For fruits, 2 non-native fruits is enough or 8 native ones

You can also use 1 iron nuggets if you don't feel like wrapping gifts

wrapping doesn't as such matter really, it gives an extra bonus point of friendship, making it a little quicker to rise in friendship levels

1 iron nugget wouldn't be enough if you're at the point of trying to get the photo though as they sell for 375 bells each, you'd need to give them 2 in order to have the chance of getting the photo

Trees can be regrown, flowers can be cloned. I'd say save some of your flowers (especially hybrid colours) and keep them on the beach for now. People also tend to move all their buildings to the beach and completely flatten the island. Others do it in small sections so they don't have to flatten the whole island

Furniture can also be put in your house storage temporarily
